I have been thinking about something I want to do for my girlfriend for Christmas. Yea, I know, little ways away, but with school, I have lost some free time, and I need to start working on it soon. I want to do two photo manips, and I need tutorials the most. The idea is to change a picture of me and her (from the chest up) into animals. Namely, a frog and a polar bear. The second idea was to put those two animals in the same picture, so you have a frog and polar bear together. End result being a picture of us as animals, and a picture of a frog and a polar bear together.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tutorials, links, help, resources, whatever you have or can help me find.

Okay, so I just finished reading the 7^th Harry Potter book. It was great. One of my favorites out of the series. And I promise, no spoilers that will ruin the book. Well, I take that back. This is a spoiler, but it won't ruin the book, since it is the first paragraph of it. Just a teaser. And this is more of an advertisement for good ol' JK. She wrote a great series. *If you don't want to read it, just skip the next paragraph.*

"The two men appeared out of nowhere, a few yards apart in the narrow, moonlit lane. For a second they stood quite still, wands directed at each other's chests; then, recognizing each other, they stowed their wands beneath their cloaks and started walking briskly in the same direction."

Anyway, I definitely liked this book. Weighing in at 759 pages, it was worth every one. You definitely should buy this, check it out, borrow it, whatever you do to get it. Just don't steal it. And if it costs $35 like the cover says, try Wal-mart. I think mine was like $20. And my favorite part of the book itself, not the writing in the chapters and such was the little "summary" that is given to a book, like on the back or on the jacket.

"We now present the seventh and final installment in the epic tale of Harry Potter."

Great way to end it, huh?

Alrighty my fellow deviants, I need some help. I am trying to get back into drawing, using my sketches/linearts and making them digital, but I need something to draw. Any ideas for me? Something that doesn't really involve people, and more cartoonish: old cartoons, animes, mangas, newer cartoons, since those are already drawn, and most have plenty of references. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have no idea what I am talking about, I made a game in C++, my first game, and it is done completely. You try to guess the number the computer randomly came up with, and if you guess wrong, you will be told to guess higher or lower.

It only works for Windows, and I think it works for everyone's version, unless you have a Windows without the console. Want to find out if you do? Go to Run, and type in cmd or command and it should come up. If not, then sorry.

In the wide world of dating, there are many options. Do you go for the flashy guy with the smooth smile, or the dude in the corner typing away on his laptop? The following are reasons why I think my fellow females should pay more attention to the quiet geeks and nerds, and less attention to the flashy boys.

1.) While geeks and nerds may be awkward, they’re well-meaning 9 out of 10 times. That smooth dude with the sly grin and the spider hands? Wonder what HIS intentions are... plus, I’ve never had a geek guy not call me when he said he would. Score major points THERE.

2.) They’re useful. In this tech-savvy world, it’s great to have a b/f who can make your laptop, desktop, and just about anything else that plugs into a wall behave itself.

3.) They’re more romantic than they’re given credit for. Ok true, their idea of romance might be to make up a spiffy web-page with all the reasons why they love you, with links to pics of you and sonnets and such... but hey. It lasts longer than flowers, plus you can show your friends.

4.) Due to their neglected status, there are plenty to choose from. You like ‘em tall and slender? There are plenty of geeks/nerds who are. You like ‘em smaller with more meat on their bones? Got that too.

5.) They’ve got brains. Come on now, how can intelligence be a bad thing?

6.) Most are quite good at remembering dates. Like birthdates and such, especially if they know it’ll make you happy. Due again to their neglected status, they’re more attentive than guys who “have more options”. Plus, with all that down time without a steady girlfriend, they’ll likely have mental lists of all the things they’d love to do once they GOT a girlfriend.

7.) Sex. Yep. Sex. I’m not really familiar with this myself, but I’ve friends who’ve been intimate with geek guys and it’s raves all around. They say a virgin wrote the Kama Sutra... all that time thinking about sex, imagining sex, dreaming about sex, (they are male after all) coupled with a desire to make you happy? Use your imagination.

8.) They’re relatively low-maintenance. Most can be fueled on pizza, Twinkies and Mt Dew. No complicated dinners needed here, so if you’re not the best cook, eh. Can you order a pizza?

9.) Most frequent bars as often as slugs frequent salt mines. You won’t have to worry much about your geek guy getting his “groove” on with club hotties because, frankly, he’ll be too busy rooting around under his computer wondering where that spare cable went. You won’t have to worry about him flirting with other women because, 9 out of 10 times, he’ll zip right by them in a perfect b-line towards the nearest electronics store. I’ve seen this happen.
Me: “Eww. Victoria Secret’s Models... They’re so skinny. How is that feminine? You can see her ribs!”
Geek Guy: “ooooooo...”
Me: “Hey!” *notices he is staring lustfully towards the computer store*
Geek Guy: “What?”
Me: “Never mind...”

10.) Although he may not want to go to every outing with you, you can arrange swaps, as in, you’ll go to his Gamer Con dressed as an elf princess if he’ll take you to the ballet. Plus, if he doesn’t want to go someplace with you, you won’t have to worry much about what he’s up to. You’ll probably come home to find him asleep on his keyboard in a sea of Mt. Dew cans with code blinking from the screen. It’s ok. He’s used to this. Just toss a blanket over him and turn out the light.

11.) His friends aren’t jerks. I can’t stress this enough. You’ll more likely get “Omg! A GIRL!! Can I see?!” than “Hey hot stuff back that ass up here and let me get some grub on...” They’re awkward geeks too and will, 9 times out of 10, treat you with the utmost respect and, more than likely, a note of awe. A cute girl picked one of their clan to date? It could happen to them! Hope! Drag some of your single girlfriends over, open up a pack of Mt. Dew, crack open the DnD set and get working. Nothing impresses geek guys more than a girl who can hack-n-slash (well ok maybe if she can code... a geek can dream).

12.) They’re rarely if ever possessive. They trust you, so you can be yourself around them. You like to walk around the house in a ratty t-shirt for comfort? He won’t care. He does too! They won’t get pissy if you don’t wear make-up or don’t want to bother primping your hair. If you gain a few pounds, they won’t try their best to make you feel like crap.

In other news, I have a new plan. Instead of a deviation a day, since I couldn't do that with the work load, I am just planning on learning how to draw again and get better at it. So here is how it is going to work: I am going to start with some basic stuff, as my friend *PearlPhoenix said I should. I plan on coloring them both traditionally and digitally, so I can get practice with both. Unfortunately for you guys, the traditionally colored ones will most likely not show up here since my scanner is lame and doesn't always pick up colored pencil. Sorry, but that is what I want to color it in for now. But I still will be submitting the digital copies.

So there you have it, my new plan. It probably will take effect after that last AP exam.

Sometimes I just wish I didn't have to go to school and could stay at home and make things for dART and that I didn't have homework. I hate that word now. Some days I come home and the teachers didn't give any homework and it lasts for awhile, then they decide, "Hey let's give homework!" and they pile it on. And it is not the result of my procrastination, that doesn't kick in unless it is for projects, then it kicks in.

In other news, I thought I would say yay me, I have 300 page views.

For those who want to find some interesting artists, I am going to make another journal, which I will add a link to in this one once I type it up.

If I start falling behind on this goal, message me to keep me on track, I sometimes get lost online. I figure I need to expand my gallery some, so submitting a deviation a day means I have learned something new or have created some art to submit.
