Hey all. Check out the link to see me interviewed by a local internet video podcast group known as "I Have Issues".

I was asked by comic book store owner Shawn DeMumbrum who owns Spazdog Comics here in Phoenix to do a piece for a sketchbook he puts out for Free Comic Book Day. I also did the layout for the book. So this podcast group did a 4 part interview at Shawn's store with a few of the contributing artist of this sketchbook and I'm in the first one with Shawn introducing the sketchbook and my drawing. Shawn does most of the talking but I get a word or two in the middle there.

After Free Comic Book Day on May 2nd I'll post the drawing I did here on my Deviant page.

I have Issues podcast link: [link]

Spazdog Comics link: [link]

So I stumbled on this great site giving tips (tutorials) on how to color. Some of you have asked me how I, and more importantly how my friend , uses the computer to color the pieces in my gallery. Not that the stuff I've colored is that great, most of the coloring I do is simple cell shading, and it does take a level of artistic skill to color (see or 's stuff for example) But these easy to follow tutorials can help start you on the path to coloring your lines! I've read thru a few of them and already picked up some stuff I didn't know. Anyway check it out if your interested:

So a long time friend of mine has joined the Deviant family. He is an excellent artist and I have been trying to get him to start a page here for some time. His story ideas and concept art has inspired some of the pieces in my gallery. So go and check him out and welcome him to the site.

If you check out the current issue of Star Wars Insider #88, you will find on page 69 "Enemies of the Jedi". The piece my bro and I did a while back.

I did the lines, provides the colors, as always. Since this was a piece done about 3 years ago our skills have improved considerably but it is always nice to see our stuff in print.

The unique thing about this submission this time is that, Mary Franklin the Events Manager at Lucasfilm Ltd. remembering our submission from two years ago contacted us for this piece so they could use it again. She said that "It would particularly fit an upcoming theme" and when you pick up the issue you’ll she what she meant. It is a “Special SITH Issue”. It covers all things SITH.

and I were hoping that because she had solicited us for the piece, it would accompany a feature story or something but alas it dons the fan art section yet again. But all is well, it’s the biggest piece on the page and biggest out of all the other fan art submissions so it stands out better than when it was previously published two years ago. We are happy to see it in print yet again.

So go and support your fellow DA’ers and pick an issue up. There are 4 different covers to choose from one with Vader on the cover, one cover with Maul, one cover with Dooku (Darth Tyranus) together with Asajj Ventress and one cover with Sidious. All covers are pretty sweet however my favorite is the Dooku and Asajj cover. Not that they are my favorite charactors (although I have always liked the Asajj chick) but this has the best design in my opinion. Anyway I am going to re-post it in my gallery with the covers tonight so you can see.

Update:
Here it is uploaded with the covers and all: [link]

OK so I am not a journal writer very often (this is my first one since opening this new page on DA), but finally I have something to write about. My boy has entered a coloring contest on the Mark Brooks DA page and I am campaigning for him. So here is the deal... Go to:

[link]

and vote for my boy. He is number 23 and his DA name is pixel-of-doom. Make sure you say you vote for him by putting his name (pixel-of-doom) and put the number (23). I know I am kinda repeating myself but I want him to win cause I get to share in the loot! HE he...

Plus I think his is the best one. There are a few (and I mean like 3 or 4) that are just as good BUT not better by any means....

So be a good DA citizen and VOTE!
