So I recently returned to playing Furcadia, which again proves my point that it's just impossible to stay away from it. Something mystical runs around that peaceful little world, I swear.

It was nice though, I realized that after two years I still haven't forgotten most of the shortcut keys and tricks of the trade. It was a bit weird logging in to find myself without a Ferian, but I quickly made up for it with a port, Wolven for life and 12 month SS.

For those of you who are still wondering what the hell kinda game I'm talking about, let me make it simple: Imagine anything. That's Furcadia.

So normally I don't rant or make a fuss over little things, but I'm kind of pissed I didn't get to go to Anthrocon this year. My budget had a meltdown around the last 3 days and I ended up losing any chances of going. It's quite saddening, I was planning to meet so many people.... too bad so few of them contacted me, I might have been able to get a lift.

I suppose there's always next year, but I really wish I would have gone this time. Guess 2010 is my day!

Will work for art tips!

Well I won't work for them, but I figure you all are nice enough. Lately I've been trying to tap in to my inner artist, but all I come up with are scribbled lines and a bad looking character. Yes, I'm trying to draw people and anthropomorphic creatures, but my sense of structure, depth and size are all slightly off.

I know that practice makes perfect, but to be honest I don't know what to practice on! It's frustrating me, I have a passion and can't express it. I want to draw characters with CHARACTER, a human/animal with emotions that you can see. Not into realism here.
Because of this, a lot of tutorials don't work for me. Art lessons are about the same thing: realistic pencil/pen art.

SO, without further adieu, I decided to consult the experts... YOU. I just need a friendly push in the right direction, I willing to dedicate time and effort into learning but I need resources. What resources? I'll let you decide xD

Omg omg omg I am probably the happiest wolfy on the planet right now! I'm going to Anthrocon 2009! This will be my first fur-con, so I'm really looking forward to it. I'll get to see a couple of awesome peeps there who I've been wanting to meet for a while, such as Rei-Jin from the Welcomer group on Furcadia.

I already have my entire wear together: Black 1910 antique tails tuxedo with a wolf tail and possibly ears if I can afford it. I'd like to try fur-suiting one day but the weather has GOT to be over 100 degrees in there.....

Anyways, just wanted to put out a little offer to anyone reading this: If your interested, and it sounds like something you might want to do, then you can meet up with me there =3. What I guess I'm really trying to say is that at the moment, I'm going ALONE and it's going to be friggin scary and boring ALONE. So yeah, I might even be willing to pay for your ticket at the door if your serious about going xD

Ok, so all I have to say is OMFG. I've never been so upset in my entire friggin life!!!

I'm going to explain what happened as calmly as I can: Recently I started reading this online web comic called "Inverloch" (can be found here [link]). As far as web comics go, this was a jewel that brought me back in time to my old days of fantasy books. A cross between Lord of the Rings and various other fantasy novels, it truly ranked high in my opinion (notice that all of this is in past-tense.

Everything past this line is a spoiler if your planning on reading it:

SO yeah, OMFG, the ending totally sucked!! I was in tears! Basically, Acheron (our main character throughout the whole series) gets KILLED by this elf dude who apparently has Acheron's mind (and Acheron had his). So throughout the entire series, you were actually looking at two different characters! People might find this amusing or even awesome, but your friggin main character just got killed off and plus he was the coolest guy in there!

Ok, so after that, Mr. Elf Dude gets "his" memories back (since Acheron was basically Elf Dude in a different body), and the whole epislogue is about love and getting married..... my gosh, and here Iw as thinking there was actually I wonderful story with a beautiful plot coming along!

Ok ok, I'm sorry, I don't mean to critizise anyone, but why couldn't the ending have been a little better? I would have probably made the big "secret" the fact that Acheron was half elf or something. He was such an awesome Da'kor (his race), and made a perfect character. UGH I cannot even begin to display my displeasure!!!

I'm going to go do something to get my mind off of this. GRRR!

EDIT: WHY the heck couldn't they have left Acheron as he was?!?! He was an awesome character!!!!!!!! >.<

EDIT AFTER TAKING A CHILL PILL: Ok, I want to apologize to anyone who read this. I got a little caught up in the storyline. When I step back and look at it, it wasn't such a bad ending to have to deal with. Granted, it's confusing...... knowing a character as a main character throughout the entirety of the story and then suddenly killing him off, even if it wasn't really "him", but things are good.

Again, sorry for the major whining!

Don't you just love it when an exciting day is coming up and it feels like your on caffeine all night? You know you need the rest but for some reason, your too hyped to care.

Well! Tomorrow I'm off to a Yu-Gi-Oh gathering at a local Books-A-Million (well, technically half an hour away). It lasts for 2 hours, and basically I'm planning on creaming everyone to a nice, mushy pulp with my Remove From Play deck.

Floyd Fest Miracle!

Ok, so down/up/over here in Floyd there is a festival every year in July called the Floyd Fest. Almost everybody is there, and if you get your tickets way ahead of time they only cost $30. There's music, dancing, food and drink, games, gypsies, TONS of people, campfire light shows and all that good stuff. It lasts for a few days, so you can (if your rich) also choose to camp out on the site.

So. Cherub and I decided to go Thursday night, since Laura Reed (a fav singer of ours) was going to be playing that night. Everything was perfect, although we found out later that the tickets at gate are actually $40. So, our moms gave us each $40 for the tickets and each $20 extra for food...... or so we thought. Apparently, Cherub's mom had forgotten to give her the money for her ticket! We had to combine our money at the gate to get 2 tickets, and came up with a grand final total of $3 for food and drinks..... joy.

We decided it would be best to call my mom and ask her to bring some money or food by for us...... but it was about then that we were told by a nice volunteer lady that the whole festival was a cell phone dead spot. Woot! She said that we could take the shuttle up the hill about 3 miles to get a reception. Ok, we were cool with that, so we boarded the bus.

About 5 minutes later, the same lady jumps on the bus and slams what appears to be $3 in my hand. She said "Here, just a random act of kindness." and then she got off! We hopped off as well and thanked her from the bottom of our souls, to which she replied, "Your so welcome, now go and enjoy the festival!" (only in Floyd, people).

But that's not all. When we got back into the festival, I unraveled the money to find nothing other than a pretty $20 bill..... some people are just so nice it makes you wanna hug them, but we refrained upon the agreement that it appeared she didn't want much attention from it.

Who knows, the Lord and Lady must be watching over us! I give full credit to my magic, 1920s tailored tuxedo with coat-tails. We had a great time, ate and drank our fill, and then decided to take back what change we had left ($6). She was nowhere to be found.

An angel, a gift, the universe, luck, magic...... I think all of them ^^.

Time for some random info on my life lately, interesting facts and stuff!

Cool fact #1:
I was walking in a graveyard near Floyd earlier last week (Floyd = where I live. Deal with it.)when I happened to look down and discover nothing else but..... my black leather wristband! Now, let it be known that this wristband STAYS on my arm all the time. I had just gotten back from a teen meditation retreat which was a week long, and I couldn't find it for a week before that. Which meant it was there for about 2 1/2 weeks! In a graveyard! I have dubbed it "My Necromancer Wristband". Cheers.

Cool Fact #2:
So what do you know..... I've been looking for an oldish type of Tuxedo that I could totally wear to the furry convention I'm going to this August, and a friend of mine found one in town!! It was at an Antique shop here, and it is totally awesome. Made and worn in the 1800s, I bought it and the pants for $45..... chyeah, I win, woooo! I'll have to post a piccy sometime!

Cool Fact #3:
Going to a furry convention, one needs either a costume or a tail.... right? Yep, so I had been vigorously searching for some fur so I could make a quick tail before this August (not enough time or money for a full suit). So what happens? Well, my family and I were having a yardsale when low and behold, some man and his wife want to buy some things, but only have a few bucks on them. They just like, GAVE us a fur coat that looks exactly like wolf fur (it's actually rabbit, which is sad, but when life gives you lemons you make lemonade). Not only do I not have to worry about buying the fur now, but I can also avenge any poor bunnies killed in the process of making that coat. They will be well loved and respected.

So hey, would you look at that, DA has a new design! Spiffy indeed, and it works much better in my opinion.... now we don't have to wait for pages to reload while deleting comments/deviants/journals from our messages, and we can actually SEE the deviant picture before we click on it. Without a subscription!

This is truly the DA I've been looking forward to. I think up until now we were all slipping on bananas and eating each other's hearts out. Yeah, it's 1:00 in the morning, don't mind me.

Windows Vista.... mixed emotion!

Ugh so just recently, as of today recently, I got a new laptop with Windows Vista on it. Well at first I thought it was awesome and high tech, but then I noticed some bugs in the system. I did some work on it and was able to eliminate several admin and file bugs, and boost the speed a little.

So anyways I continued to run across different problems, most of which were fixable, but I began to wonder how worth it Vista really was. I can see while people complain now......

Dang another problem is it HATES games. Don't even attempt 3D unless you have a good graphics card and 3 gigs of ram. grrrr.

Omg, this is just too cool!! As some of you know, I am in Mississippi right now getting treatments for cancer. Well, I only have around 3 weeks left before I can go home (w00t!) so that's good, but that's not the point:

This week I not only got a get well card from my school back home with all the teacher's signatures on it, but I also got a poster where EVERY KID IN THE WHOLE SCHOOL signed it!! Later on I even got a school jacket from my principle!!

So this journal goes out to my school, you guys are awesome!!!!

Ok, after browsing DA for a while I relised half of the users doing art thaty looked like the type I want to learn ow to do, were using tablets. First of all, I know nothing about tablets what-so-ever, so I was wondering if there is anyone who could help me by telling what make and model, brand etc to buy?

Actualy, traveling isn't really a drag, I just said that because it blends my two journal entries into one:

So, anyways, we are in a luxeryous hotel on our way back home from visiting family for Christmas! It was fun, we got to see lots of family members that I hadn't seen in like, 10 years? Yah. And they have real cute pets! Like chiwawas (spelled wrong of course), and cats ^^

Well, off of that subject, comes my second journal entry concerning the last part "What a drag". Lol, almost an inside joke for those who have seen Naruto, I just started to watch this cool anime! It's extremely funny, very shocking, and it keeps you on edge! I am on the 65th episode now, it's getting good!
Hmm, I should draw Naruto sometime, doesn't look too hard......

Well, Christmas is coming up soon, so I fugure I might as well go ahead and say it:

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I really didn't ask for anything this Christmas, I kinda just wait and see what comes my way. I think the best present is school break though.
Anyways, I will be going to North Carolina on Monday to visit with family on my mother's side, then I will go see my girlfriend in Floyd. I can't wait!

OK, now onto the online good stuff. I have made a little gift for my awesome friend

Don't you just HATE IT when you sick!? Well I do, and I needed a place to protest, so here I am!!! I mean, gosh, I got school tomarrow with my favorite class project (gym) and I might not be able to go there!! It really, really sucks........

Well, I feel slightly better now that I got that out, now onto the second most important thing I don't think I have mentioned before: I am officially uploading ALL of the English episodes of Wolf's Rain to YouTube! I remember the day Loz posted this up on Balto source, and she had worked really hard to do it. I really really like Dodger, and I think this picture is the best copy of him I have seen yet, so here it is!

If I am not mistaken, this is one of the original "Loz drawings", an older one. I love those, this one is so cute

And last but certainly not least, I chose this picture because it's just pure beauty. It just seems peaceful, like the world should stand still for a moment and be quiet.
