I managed to sort through the 600 something deviations, and 60 something messages, and I think I finally have stuff under control...

I posted some pictures from Maine, 2009, and I should probably post my stuff from Italy. However, I've been a bit paranoid about people stealing my stuff. We'll see how this goes.

Just thought I'd let you know that I REALLY wanna take pictures of waves and water and such, but I KNOW it'll ruin my camera... all that water and stuffs. So I was wondering if anyone knows where i can get either a waterproof case for my Sony Cybershot DSC-H1 camera, or if you know where I can get a cheap waterproof camera?

Stupid Sony apparently DOESNT make them for my camera.

Anywho. Today at break I tried to see if there was any way for me to take photography at my school. But, at my school in order to take photography you have to take art 1. And that's drawing and painting and chalk... etc... all this stuff I'm really bad at and get wicked frustrated about. So, I went to talk to the photography teacher. And she pretty much told me there was no way for me to do photography without taking art. She didn't even look at the portfolio I had put together, or listen to me trying to explain that I've taken a photography course at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University. So yea... I sent her an email... and hopefully she'll say that she actually wants to look at my portfolio? because, and if I do say so myself, I have some pretty good pictures in there that DESERVE to be looked at!

This morning I went to the greenhouse, and the lady there is kinda... gruff? But wicked wicked nice. The store wasnt open yet, but she let me in anyway, and she even let me go into the flower freezer to pick out the flowers I wanted. Once I had the cut flowers I wanted, and I was going to pay for them, she told me to just take them, free of charge. It was so nice.

I absolutely love the flowers I picked out, the peachy rose is my favorite out of all of them.

For the lighting, I used a really bright lamp I have. Which was slightly dangerous... Everytime I looked at it I saw spots for about 5 minutes afterwards. It's a lamp that looks like the one on the Pixar logo.

I do not have photoshop, so it wasn't used on any of these pictures.

I really want to try taking pictures of flowers with water drops on them, because I've seen some wicked pretty pictures like that. (browse my favorites if you'd like to see what I had in mind ) Sadly, it's fall around here, and there's no fresh flowers, so I'm thinking I need to pay a visit to the local greenhouse.

Today, er, tonight I did some experiments with candles, and I'm kinda pleased with how they came out, I just wish that the candles in the background and the glass of wine showed the red more, and the lit candle and the flower vase looked more green. Because the reds and the greens match perfectly, but my little candle wasn't enough to illuminate it.

I've taken some pictures in black and white of my friend, but we decided against posting them, due to the whole internet thing, where everyone can see them and comment, etc etc. I really love how they came out though. Her eyes are incredible, and it was really cool how you could tell they were blue green even though the pictures were taken in black and white. And how you could tell she was smiling without seeing her mouth. (Ha, this probably makes no sense without seeing the pictures eh?)

But yea, my photography life in a nutshell being, I REALLY wanna travel, and find some new landscape/scenery etc to take pictures of. But until then, my friends and random stuff around my house is going to have to do.
