No clue about what we're about to do...
All I know is I got my camera and a small backpack with minimal luggage, and some cha-cha ($$$) and we'll go from there.

I'm leaving this Monday, and I plan on staying for a week or so...
We'll see how it goes.

It's been a while folks. To tell you the truth work and school kinda kept me off photography work for quite a while. I wish I could have the time to do it, but bar life is so much captivating (just kiddin)...

School ended up like ... you know ... somewhere in between alright and shitty.
That same ol feeling of accomplishing nothing but wasting time and money. Great.

Nothing like it.
Found a new passion though. My car. Ain't that strange for a boy my age
Fixing, replacing and installing comes really cool when you have a whole history of lego behind you.

2007 - Early Reflections

It's been a while, not so much posting on my side, but I'm still checking you deviantwatchers' work out there. Anyway...

2007 started like shit for me.

Working on New Year's Day, problems with the po-po's, fixing the car, shitty weather and sliding on the road. A beauty.

Didn't have any resolutions for the new year, to say so. It's like I realize that people who make those resolutions, they last like 2 weeks max. So I beg to differ.

For example:
My friend Brad... new year's resolution: stop smoking. Lasted: 2 days
My friend Adam... new year's resolution: stop drinking. Lasted 1 week. (brave man)
My friend Larry... lose more than 5 pounds: status pending hahaa after like 2 weeks or so. I dunno if he gave up on that or not.

Anyway... first semester done... 4.0 GPA can't bitch about that. Still got a stable job... with a decent/stable income.
New semester's up with:
1- a metalhead for a History teacher AWESOME!
2- a wacko for a psychology teacher (I think he needs a psychologyst too)
3- a pregnant whiny woman for english (she's alright though)
4- and the most boring motherfucker in the college, mister 2 words per minute, i don't even remember his name... anyway my economics teacher.

Just went to Detroit's auto show... twas pretty nice and interesting, but I didn't feel it was necessary to bring my camera. Because of my natural and equal interest of cars and photography, I would've spent more on shooting rather than admiring, like last year. So this year I changed that, and it was a totally different experience.

Besides the obvious exotics that are 99% sure to turn heads, I liked the Lincoln MKR, the convertible Camaro, and the Scion TC.

That's bout it folks from my side.

So it's that time of the year again, where immediately after Halloween, everyone starts to prepare for Christmas. It's a sweet feeling... but too bad the weather is not as welcoming and cheerful as the holiday spirit. Oh well let's hope for the best.

I still don't know what I want for Christmas... Do you guys know what you want?
I know what to get for my family. This should be fun. Hahaha I'll really enjoy this.

Mindfuck Movies & School

Maybe it's cos some movies have a great impact on us or maybe something big comes in our lives and we feel that we had to write a journal about it... oh well.
Same ol shit, until yesterday.

Got to Blockbuster where the manager there already knows me by my name to pick-up some new releases.

So what that I'm a movie junkie?
So what that I leave Blockbuster every single time with a minimum of 5 dvds?
So what that I spend tons of money on them?
So what that Tom(the night manager there) gives me the first scoop on the new stuff?
So what...

Ah fuck it.

Anyway I picked up some historical documentary about King Tutankamon's tomb and the so-called legends of the curse, some Disney comedy bullshit so that the whole family can "enjoy" something.
Bullshit. Yeah. And then Basic Instinct 2.

Saw the first one when I was a kid, didn't get that much.
Saw it again when I was 15, and all I understood was Sharon Stone's classic pussy scene.

Then again yesterday I saw the second one... and man that was a great movie. I don't categorize lots of movies as great movies... cos I'm picky.

Especially mindfuck movies. These are at the top of my list. May it be horror/macabre like Saw and Saw II or thrillers like this one. Man anything that won't make me fall asleep and actually pay atention to every single detail... you got me there Mr. Director.

This movie was absolutely briliant and very intriguing, keeping me wondering until the end. Can't believe that granny ol Sharon Stone still looks good for her age.

Oh, other than that... my photography has been slacking off, I know.
But I'm starting school in 2 days, and on Friday I'll have photography, and you'll most likely see new stuff coming so hold on tight.

Shootin' it up

Damn it's been a while... haven't posted nothin. Work sucks. Paintballing is for relaxation. I guess I got into it more than I thought I would. First couple of times it's gay if you don't look underneath it all. They give you a shitty gun if you go and rent stuff. So pretty much that ruins your game right before you start. Happened to me first 2 times. Sucked. After you wait so much and get the perfect shot... 3 seconds to shoot the guy. The gun is fucking up or it won't shoot straight, or it clogs up, or you have to recock it, or you run out of gas, balls etc. Gay right?!

So I go with a couple of buddies just to shoot it up... gettin all that bullshit stress out right. We had fun actually for 2-3 hours. And that was it... rentals blow. but still fun.

So this guy comes up to me after work, and asks me how was paintballing, I owned a couple of 10 year olds with a rental... how fucking proud can I be... really ?!! not that much. He says he's gonna sell me his kids gun really cheap if I'm interested. So I said FUCK yeah bring it tommorow and I'll take a look at it. The stuff was really cheap, his kid had a fucking $1000 Karnivor so he didn't needed this one. Did my ebay/internet homework on the gear and bought it for $200.

Vacation was sweet

Sweet, my vacation was sooo sweet. Tampa is warm... actually really warm, warmer than I expected it to be. Palm trees are so normal everywhere, from beaches, to malls, backyards and even car shops

You definately need Botox for that place man. It's really sweaty and sticky if you don't do Botox... i know from personal experience I might add hehe Anyway, you get used to it pretty fast... took me like 3 days to accomodate with the fine weather. No rain, no snow, just pleasant sunny weather. awesome.

Like a friend of mine said, it could be paradise on earth if it weren't for those goddamn hurricanes. Immagine paying 500k on a house down the beach, BUT add 70k just for the yearly insurance on it. shit...

Clubbin was fun, beach was fun, tanning... oh let's say not so fun... i burned like everytime. I burn easily actually, but in a day or two, it will be fine.

Just hang tight till i put all my photos in my comp, and I'll start posting

Couple of days went by... and umm other than work and more work, I manage to spend roughly 1 day or 2 a week for my 'Taste of Detroit' tour... Hmm more shots will be posted soon enough... so keep close. I'm expecting a new lens anyway... the EF 75-300mm USM III, so hopefully I'll get this one late this week.

Other than that, I enjoy watching tons of movies at a time. You can say you're a movie freak when the guys from Blockbuster know you as a 'regular' and by your first name . Every Friday I leave that place with at least 5 movies soooo ok. What can I say some of the stuff is good out there... some is just crap. It's funny cos you get so easily tricked into a shitty movie by watchin a trailer. For example 'The Tenants'. Shitty movie... kickass trailer. and it goes vice versa as well. 'Everything is Illuminated' good movie... skittish trailer. I guess advertising fucks it up sometimes. God i should be in this biz... imagine the money flow.

VACATION! yes I finally planned my vacation. Tampa, Florida baby. 1 week... I needed one BADLY . All work and no fun dude... gotta lay back and relax a bit. aaah

Ok that's pretty much it for now.

Ok, I haven't posted a journal in like a month or so... not because I was lazy, but tired. Never crossed my mind that I'd turn into a workaholic, but godddamn it I like the money Kinda limited on the time spent to check e-mails, comments, favs etc. So this is my day off, as you prolly figured by now, so I'm writing this journal to make use of time. Soon enough I'll get a car, (with my own money-see working is not that bad afterall), and then a DSLR... still trying to figure what I want, but I think imma go with a 350D over the D70.

A new start

Not much on my side... I did a couple macro sessions here and there... nothing real significant. Oh the Superbowl is gonna be in Detroit on the 5th of February... so you can imagine the chaos that's gonna be around here... damn it's like more than a national holiday. People started renting their houses for thousands of dollars per week... INSANE! I couldn't do that ... no matter how much you pay me. Oh well if it's 5 or 6 figures pay then, we'll talk, but just the thought of having someone sleep in my bed, in my house... eek. I'd prolly put saranwrap all over the house .

Xmas Special

So last wednesday I went to the AILD + Norma Jean concert down at Clutch Cargo's in Detroit... Kinda crouded, but worth seeing two bands of that kind of caliber singing under one roof. That was tha' shit!

I've done all my xmas shopping finally!... It took a while to get all the family members something, and YES I have a huge family... go figure... all my last month's pay went on gifts but it's fun to give I guess.
I got myself a ping pong table ... oh man it's so awesome! I could play all week long on it, if it weren't for my job, but at least I have the weekends for that. I considered buying an EOS 350D, but unfortunately I spend almost $1000 on gifts, so for now that's out of the question.

I already know what I'm getting for xmas, kinda lame I know, but I love it... My parents got me the new 30GB iPod (Black) with video, it's awesome...

For all of you who still haven't done your shopping, I would suggest you do so... Don't wait until the last week, or you'll end up with all the crappy stuff that's left, cos all the big shoppers are out there... I had to wait almost 30 min in line just to buy a dress shirt from Banana Republic... holy shit!

K, enough about me
I wish you all happy holidays, Merry Xmas, Happy Hannukah or whatever you might celebrate this time of the year.

So I lied about taking architectural shots... in a way ... oh well it rained... I was moody, I didn't feel like walkin in the rain flashing my cam all over the place... bleah. At least I got a couple of random shots around the neighbourhood. Twas alright I guess...

Holidays are a bummer man... too many people fighting for the same crap each year, buying candy canes and friggin christmas trees decorations. I personally saw two ladies fight over one last product in aisle 3... Geez pathetic. I'm not trying to sound like the Grinch... but hey man, just lay off the speed and take it easy for a chance... how bout that? Seriously... it's not Armaggeddon or anything like that, no one will run out of supplies... just relax enjoy the xmas decorations... breathe in that cold winter air and smile for a moment. If anything else fails, get high on speed and enjoy a shopping extravaganza in the malls.
