First off, whatever DeviantArt did when they changed their layout or whatever...'effing killed my computer. Seriously, crashed my internet and made dvart stop working for over a month. So that's my current excuse for not leaving comments...yeah. **whistles innocently**

Secondly, I haven't really been drawing, and what I do draw sucks monkey scrotum. Binge upload (obviously) of the least crappy. None of it is finished, and none of it will ever be. I should be putting it all in scraps, but I'm sick of having art from July up.

Okay a few things need to be said:

1. Yes, I am alive. Although the Deviation-Drought will speak otherwise, I am ALIVE!

2. I have not been commenting on art. I know that people are probably thinking "Wow, how rude! She devwatched me, then ignores me!" I'd like to say that there's a good reason for this, but, alas, there is not. I suppose I have simply been unmotivated...and slightly overwhelmed when my "new deviation" list skyrocketed over 120... But I vow to do better.

3. "Where is that comic-thing?!" you may ask. It, umm, died. A horrible neglectful death I might add. But out of it's forgotten pages a new and glorious comic shall emerge! Well, actually, it's the same freakin' thing, but the characters and the plot are just tweaked...gloriously tweaked!

4. Does anybody even GIVE a shit about the comic? **cricket** YEEEEAH...that's what I thought...reply to this if you really care to see the comic brought back.

5. Hello Sabrousians! Deities and mortals alike! Some of you have recieved character art...and some of you shall be recieving it...shortly...ish...

6. There is no number 6...I just like lists.

Yeah, a lot of you have head this one before:

Sorry that I haven't been commenting on people's art. It's rather mean of me to devwatch you and then ignore you...but I have my reasons.

The main one is that my school is after my blood...
I have been swamped with work even though I'm do to graduate. The reason for this is another reason why i haven't been drawing/commenting much:

My health. As some of you know, I have nerve problems in my arms. This limits my drawng ability, along with my school-work ability.

On the flip side, I AM going to be graduating. So I'll have a bit of free time come summer (before college is out for my blood). I'll start being more active on DevArt then.

Things to look foward to:
1. Comments/Critiques
2. Start of Dull Glitter v.2.0
3. Fun art "experiments" (I have these new watercolor oil pastels...**drool**)
3. BETTER ART. (ok, not a hard thing to do but meh...)

Until then, adieu mes amies! Bon chance!

P.S. A Note to SABROUS folks: **waves** Thanks for devwatching me! Giftart of your characters shall ensue. Also, a reference sheet for Corby is in the works. See you in North Tek!

Artaith, Razvan and Kegan are my three favorite characters and I plan to totally re-work the comic to center directly around them. (Calandria and Lukas will become very minor characters.
Enter the dialog. And my inability to draw speech bubbles. And more bad attempts at perspective. Yeah.

But hey, you get to meet Lukas!

But on a serious, important note, I finally figured out Keen's FTP process. So the comic will be moving to Keenspace soon. I will continue to update this site until I get the Keenspace site totally functional. Which might be a while since I'm having trouble with editing the index template.

When I DO move to keenspace, I will post a note here with the new address.

Keen will be nice, since I will have both unlimited space AND the ability to customize things (banners, link pages, character bios, etc.)

HOWEVER, I will lose the "comment" ability that DeviantArt provides.

SO, I'd like to set-up a forum or a Live Journal community. Not sure which. If anybody has a preferance, please tell me.

But it would be silly of me to do this if I have, like, one reader. So ANYBODY who is reading this comic, either reply to this or email me (believemylie@hotmail.com) should you not have a deviantart account. I'll also be taking a tally in my LiveJournal if you know me IRL.

Just on more thing that I'd like to mention before it comes up in the comic:

There is a homosexual character and there will be a homosexual relationship. If this offends you, please just stop reading.

I mention this now so that we don't get deep into the plot, only to have this pop up and people go "WTF? Why is she gaying-up this comic?!" and then flame me. I don't like flames or homophobes as both make me very mean and angry.

1) This is the end of the prose/narration for a while. The next page starts with DIALOGUE!!! **gasp**

2) The next page is mostly penciled in. So it SHOULD be up soon. (a day or so?)

However, I still need to find the comic a more perment home. Keenspace has been kicking my ass every time I attempt to use it (and I've heard other badness surrounding it...)

SO...I either need to:

1) Find somebody who can explain Keen's FTP process to me (it's rather contrived)

2) Get somebody to host me.

3) Half-ass something together using Tripod or Angelfire or Geocities (or any combination of the three).

4) Figure out a way to PAY for some hosting.

**sigh**

Ok, so, I'm a big liar. I'll be uploading pages as they're finished 'cause that's easier on me. No schedule. No mass uploads.

Page 7 is essentially the way the "real" comic will look. I might tweak the inking a bit here and there (new style of inking for me) and get more abstract with the panels once I get to actual dialogue. (grr...only one or two more pages...)

If things are
1. too hard to read
2. too visually confusing
3 don't make sense
please tell me. I'm new at this and have no idea what I'm doing...

And because people asked so nicely...

I have a nerve problem in my arms/hands that causes pain and loss of control. So when I draw, it sometimes hurts and when I ink, the pen sometimes wobbles. So my art often lacks the finesse I'd like it to have. Hopefully the comic will force me to develop those qualities.

The first of the "real" pages is waiting to be inked, for those of you worried that I may never draw any more. It's just more complex than the previous 6. And the injuries in my arm don't speed things up.

I'm afraid that the first two or three pages will still be prose/narration rather than dialogue. But it's all for the best so that you know what's going on. I'll want to upload these more wordy pages together as soon as they're all done, so it might be a few days until another update.

After that, as the REAL real story progresses, I might get onto a more structured update schedule. (Ex. new pages every Wednesday and Saturday or something to that effect).

WHOOT! THE INTRO IS OVER!!! **dances**

Mmkay, now onto the REAL story, with the nice, abatract-looking pages and such. And less words. Some of that text was a pain to format...

But I'm kinda happy with how these last two pages came out. Although the first panel on page 5 was a bitch because I had to go and look-up clothing for each founder (which is what took so long with the update. Page 6 was done BEFORE page 5.) And page 6 is a total cop-out. But it LOOKS pretty good.

I still have no clue how to shade. This is going to stay black-and-white for a while I guess. Damn.

Ok, this is officially "the page that kicked my ass". I HAD an entire page done for yesterday, but I didn't like how it looked once I added the text. SO I had to draw an entirely new one. And for some reason, it took forever. Then my hand was shaking and the inking came out worse than usual.

(But FYI, the blood-spray effect in the last panel is DONE BY HAND. No computers for me...cause I have no idea how to use them...)

Pages 5 and 6 (I lied, this will be a 6 page intro) are about 40% done. I just have to draw one more panel for each, then ink, scan it in, clean it up and add text. (The final few steps of this take all of about 2 seconds.)

Still no idea about what to do about shading. Opinions welcome.

Pages 1 and 2 of what I'm estimating will be a 5-page prologue are now up. This entire part will be more text-heavy with a more simplified appearance than the rest of the comic. I'm not totally sure that I'm happy with it, but hopefully it will allow things to flow smoothly into the real meat of the actual story without having to stop every few pages and explain things.

I still have a few things I need help with:

1. Title. I'm PRETTY sure I'm going to use "Life in Death" (am I the ONLY one who loves "Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner" ?!) However, I've also been contemplating "Dissatisfied Utopia", "Far from Par" and of course, "Dull Glitter". (Note: I would have taken "Life in Death" as my username, but some punk-ass kid who never USED their account already took it.)

2. Shading. The stark black and white thing ain't staying. I WOULD do grayscale, but that's done by so many people. I don't want to blend in too much. And color is pretty much out as it takes me too long to do. I would LIKE to do the one-color shaded look a-la "Return to Sender", but then I'd look like a copy-cat. Any Ideas?

3. Hosting. Right now I'm milking the lovely (yeah, right…) DeviantArt for all it's worth. But I don't think that this will be a good idea for a permanent home, you know? I'm afraid to use Geocities and the like due to ads/space restraints. So, any ideas on that would be lovely too
