Big thanks!

Hey, firstly if youre reading this its probably because you are watching my account, so thanks!!! You are all appreciated very much so!

From Mid September onwards I will be teaching everything i know about 3ds max and mental ray and Vray and lots of post production tips at Futureworks, Manchester - UK.

Anyone can apply to the course, they are probably going to be taught in modules so you dont have to pay for things you already know. So for example if you just want to learn about photorealistic mental stuff then just pay for that module, if you just want to learn about advanced modelling, then you just pay for that.

Of course you can do the entire course and learn from being a complete beginner too if you really want.

If any of you want more information then please feel free to contact me.

OR

goto [link]

There is an open evening Aug 25th (tuesday) Anyone can come to it without an appointment with no obligation to sign up - starts at 6:30pm.

By the end of the courses, you will be able to do any 3D that i make in my portfolio, and obviously get a job doing it.

Feel free to ask any questions. Ill try and answer

PEACE AND LOVE
DUOPHONIX

Hi!

ok anyone who knows me personally will know that i start 3d film projects more than the average person eats a meal, and i usualy make 2 mins worth of footage and call it a day.

but THIS TIME!!!!!!

ive started work on a film that will attempt to accomplish 100% photorealism in every single frame of animation. Ive been asked by a fellow 3d artist if he can join me in my film production and we have discussed ideas and should be working at it together.

One main inspiration for the film look is from the recent film - Daft punks Electroma. If you have seen this, im sure you will see the visual connection when i post some shots from my film.

One of the interesting things about this film is that whilst it is totally 3d, im not going to deliberatly make this apparent. It should look like a film that has some special effects in it, but not entirely 3d.

Ill be posting some really short teasers soon and i have just managed to aquire the use of the render farm where i work to process much of the material.

The film will be rendered at 1024x576 24p with a pixel ratio of 1.1 so it will be true widescreen.

Another aim of the film is that im only allowing frame times of no more than 3 minutes a frame. So far the longest frames have been 2 mins each, but no doubt this will be harder to achieve later on.

Oh, its going to be made in 3ds max 2008 32 and 64 bit edition, rendered using mental ray. Edited in Premier pro cs3 and post prod will be done in after effects cs3.

If you would like to contribute in any way to this project, via assets such as backdrop photography, concept shots of landscapes, perhaps even good music to go with it - even spare 3d object assets for props that you would like to contribute - please feel free to contact me, you will of course be credited!

I reckon this will take around a year to finish. Im aiming for 45-60 mins of footage, so far ive made 2 mins.......

here we go!

Hi, my first DA vid isnt great, it was more of a refinement of my production process than a proper bash at creating a nice film.

I dislike my own voice somewhat and feel that i would yeild better results by using a range of people to do the voice over for films.

Basicly im wanting anyone who reads this (or anyone you know) who is willing to do a recording for me of their voice, for me to use on a short film that will be posted on here and youtube.

The person will get credited (and a link to their DA profile and or portfolio if they like) and can reserve the right to change their mind once they get the script.

They can be male or female with any accent but speaking english please.

Drop me a line if you or anyone you know is interested. The recording will be submmitted to me via email in an mp3 or wma format.

Hi!

Ive just invested in a very expensive HD video camera, im hoping to make my 3D images come to life by tracking them onto video footage.

My main reason for getting into 3d in the first place is my desire to do film based 3d work, primarily compositing for special effects and fun! So it seemed that it was time for me to buy a decent camera, record my footage and get my 3D ass to work!

so watch this space for some cool 3d camera tracked animations,

I might even make a weekly post on how im progressing with the technique, to help others who also want to get into it.

Send me a message if you know anywhere i could host decent sized videos for download for free....(not youtube, i need better quality than that)

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well if your bored enough to read this entry then i thank you for taking an interest.

Basically, contrary to my previous journal, im not working on a huge 3d piece...well sort of....

I WAS working on it, but have decided that the design needs much more pondering over before i create it properly in 3d.

In the mean time im going to just post any little snippets of work i do.

Ive got some more photos but ive not put them on yet.

im gonna put a deviantID image up soon, maybe in a few mins, maybe a few days...

Ive recently received a a number of freelance requests for my design skills, so id thought i should mention that i will do freelance work, but as i have a proper design job too, i cant cope with a huge amount of work. If you would like anything doing, feel free to message me however you like. I would like to note that my charges are quoted on a per project basis, maybe if i like you - or you have something in return for me - ill do it for free
This should take me a while to finish as i have lots of other work on at the moment. Keep your eyes peeled for it, as i would love some feedback when its finished.

Hi folks

When im creating a 3d scene i often like using black and white photographs in any artwork or photo frames i might have in the scene. Unfortunatly i dont often have time to create really nice pics to put into them.

What would really make me grin would be if anyone will be kind enough to allow me to use a photo of theirs in one of my peices.

If you think this isnt too much to ask, and would like to go "Hey! look theres my photo in this 3d scene!" Ill let you know if i do use it, and also ill show you the image when its done.

Thanking you in advance!
