For those wondering, my Dad's weddig went off without a hitch, and it occurred a week yesterday! The sun was out, it wasn't hot, which was absolutely ideal, and the only problem I had was my shoes were painful to stand still for 20 minutes in. And, of course, getting food poisoning from something I ate, causing me to be sick three times in the course of 6 hours. Was still a little sick for the first day of school. Oh well, couldn't be helped.

I'm a little sad I have only a few classes with the people on here, some I have none with at all. Aww, can't really change much now.

As for the non-RL people on here, I'm wondering how your post-summer life is going, what you're doing, and how you're finding it.

Thinking of doing a clichÃ© Chinese Zodiac/Star Sign project, just to practice clothing and figures, but I'm not sure if I want to post it up here, just because both are so overdone it hurts.

So! It's almost time for school again! I'll sheepishly admit I'm stoked to go back, I just don't see a lot of people I like during the summer, and there's not many chances to hang out with them!

My rocket scientist aunt from near Amsterdam is visiting for my Dad's wedding, and I heard that since she's done developing an anti-missile defense program for the Russians (She works at NATO) she's working on some sort of computerized control system for planes and subs, it's pretty nifty hearing her elaborate on what she has to do, even if most of it goes right over my head.

My Dad's wedding is super close- August 30th -and the final dress fitting's tomorrow. If there are any photos from the wedding from the photographer that are deemed stunning, I'll post them on here. The wedding's at Chateau Lake Louise, with a more intimate gathering of people totaling at 65 or so.

Sherri (the rocket-scientist step-aunt) brought me Dutch chocolate, and it's honestly the best chocolate I've ever had. Screw the Swiss. This stuff is awesome. And she also gave me a birthday calendar that features M.C Escher's awesome perspective art, so don't expect me to be forgetting any birthdays any time soon. ^_~

It's the chocolate that's talking, I swear.

Also, I'm on a KHII fanart kick right now, so I might end up posting some before the month's over. Too bad we probably won't hear about III for a long, long time. DX

Ready to draw?

So, here's the description of my mini-project, Apocalypto.

Story premise:
It's based on the idea of a pre-apocalyptic world that is running out of both resources and its magical lifeblood, mana. Two major kingdoms are on the brink of full-scale war. In one kingdom there lives the half-breeds and humans, preferring weapons and physical warfare to get their fighting done, and the other side is a purist kingdom of elf-like creatures known as the Illumi (Ill-oo-my), relying on magic and the dying supply of mana to fuel both their magic and their machines.

It's well known that the Illumi are behind this mess, but no resident of the purist society would step up and help.

All Illumi crossing over to help the humans or have bred with humans were tossed out of the Illumi strongholds and into the icy lands they prefer to inhabit.

All humans have lived in one place, a hot and nearly-barren continent with few resources and even less food.

The running dispute between the two races is a stretch of land in the middle of the sea between the two lands, lush and untouched on grounds of being considered holy for the amount of mana cycling through the area. Both races have worn out their own island continents so much that one has become a desert wasteland, the other an icy and barren landscape that forces them to use mana-consuming machines to keep their homes and buildings warm.

Now, both sides threaten to infiltrate the richest land on the planet, and if one invades before the other, there is nothing stopping fullscale war.

Races: I've been pretty open to the idea of races. If there's one you may want to add, you're welcome to, just consult me, I'm pretty sure I'll usher it in as an accepted race.

Humans: Skin tones vary from light to dark varying on their geographical location. The more they live farther into the desert, the more dark they are. Heights and weight vary just as we do.

was a pageview too late, and Snuff insisted on donating the art to 'leventh, but 'leventh declined, saying she owes me too much art already to make up for the kiriban art, but I really wanna draw 'leventh's OCs and such, so the art's on a standstill on that part, and I'm busy already making armor, hanging out with people and painting a custom art job onto a Volkswagen engine to do anything anyhow, and a wedding to help plan and a picnic tomorrow to make food for.

So! Just going along with updating my journal since it's been over just two weeks since the last entry...

Working on costume designs, looking for acrylic paint and figuring out how to make the bloody costumes in the first place. Planning on drawing seperate pictures and a group shot of the Four Seraphim and then hand coloring them... And I'm planning to buy Tales of the Abyss, so I'll probably be lugging my PS2 over to

Bahaha, am I ever excited! First of all, our puppy's coming home tomorrow, I'm clashing with my internet connection to finish downloading Sword of the New World, which is a game all of you should check out immediately since it's fucking amazing...

Oh baby..

Thought I'd update my journal after seeing that emo-ish one I left on the day of my Spring Break return. So! Got all that art scanned while waiting for my Cous-cous to cook, and I'm a little miffed about seeing the colors so drastically brightened... but oh well. I'm always worrying about coloring to dark on the skin, so maybe a little extra brightness is efficient to get the point across.

Hoping to draw or PS some more stuff. I'd take a request or two if you leave a comment. I'll seriosuly draw you people anything and everything just for the hell of it. It would be a lot more eventful than doing what I did today. I worked on the ribbon-lining and geta planning of my cosplay costume, which is coming along nicely. A little more than a month left until Otafest, and I can't say I've ever been more excited about going this year. Considering the amount of effort

and I went through to get our costumes right, the May long weekend better be worth every hour spent at the sewing machine.

Ooo, I should post some concept sketches of my costume, especially with the new editions most of you readers don't know about! In fact, there are little details I've been plotting in my head for the past two weeks that need some evolving and thought into, and it would be refreshing on the mind to have those thoughtlets melt onto paper.

I'm pretty psyched to see that I'm almost 1k to 5555, and the deal's the same, whoever gets that screenshot and sends me the image file will get the prize of whatever they want in art form! Of course, I'm not willing to do porn, anthro, mecha, etc.

So. I'll be back in Calgary in three day's time, and I got great news.

I've been literally sitting around, watching Dexter and my NEWS concert DVD over and over again(okay, so maybe I was just watching the concert DVD on repeat...), but I got a lot done.

Going on a Trip!

Soooo. Almost there, and I really have to thank you guys for getting me these almost 800 views in the past month, your support and vigor of visiting my page has really been quite inspiring.

So, I'm trying to watch as much of the recommended anime I can by my friend Shawn, and he's been watching a few weeks straight of anime, so I'm trusting his judement call on these select anime. Just saying this for a random change in conversation.

Anyhow, I'm excited for April now, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is releasing its second season, and I've heard rumors circulating about Ouran's second season. Tonight I'm also doing something, going to the My Chemical Romance concert, staying at a friend's and then being picked up by another friend to be taken to Otafest. Then, after the merriment of Ota day 1 is over, a friend and I are staying at the Sheraton near Eau Claire Market, and then we'll be dropped off at the convention for day 2. SO EXCITED! I've been counting down since a month ago, and now, with the day upon me, I'm ready to go and have the time of my life.

Well, we had an awesome lunch, with sushi, sashimi and other foodstuffs. I didn't get to finish my poor second glass of coke! :sad: But, the food was good, I payed teh bill, Holly teh tip, which, thanks! I did not have enough moneys to pay the tip. I'd be cheap about it anyway..

Good things me best friends be there. They good people.

Well, first I gotta get some new paint, since I kinda don't know where my acrylics are. Silly me. So, perhaps, Phei, ye'd like to come with me to the art store to help me get paints? We could even look in Future Shop, cuz we're cool like that. ^^

But, if anyone's interested in looking at my tutorial when it's done, I'd be honored. People don't really look at my art anyways, but that's okay. Perhaps I'll start posting my pencil crayoned arts if anyone wants them. Or, here's an idea. I love doing FMA fanart, and I can only draw them, unfortunately, cuz I'm teh sux0rs, so, if any of you reading this have a request for me to draw fanart for you, then just send me a note. I you're a good friend, I'll consider doing any other series. If I try, I'll get it done. Well, off now to.. live my incredibly dull life. Well, Phei, we must get together some time, and you should show me some more ways to fold pretty paper. And Holly should come too, cuz we all need some overwhelming craziness in our lives!

If I did pick a piece of your -the reader's of this entry- art, be satisfied knowing that I only pick the best within my own ability. Please know I'm insane.

For a portion of my life: Well... Something absolutely halirious happened at my school today, and Phei (Who goes to my school and is my real-life friend) witnessed and even took part in this whole situation.

You see, a large portion of the people in my grade all gather in a particular spot, and most of them are my friends. Today, Deviantart's Tenarle (Yes, I know him too) was being his usual goofy self, and got Phei mad. She growled, got up, seized her binder, and proceeded to whack the sense out of Tenarle. But there's one problem with that. Phei is short and Tenarle is tall. His hands went up, and Phei's fingers were loosened from her binder from the attempted whacking-the-crap-out-of-Tenarle-with-her-binder. She glared at him, and sat down, and began to eat her lunch. Now, there's a certain guy that doesn't always get along with Tenarle. He's tall too, and we'll call him Joe for now.

Now Joe and Tenarle sometimes fight, and today was no exception. This happened after Phei's almost-successful beating of Tenarle. I have no idea of what happened to start these guys on fighting, but all I can remeber is Tenarle swinging his -fridge- of a lunchbag at Joe, and then kicked him in the balls. Ouch. Joe immediately recovered, swung his arm around, grasped Tenarle on the shoulder, and soundly bitch-slapped him, the sound echoing down the hall. Joe started to run, and Tenarle recovered, and threw his lunch bag at Joe, and hit him squarely in the head. People were laughing and cheering, but here's the funny part. One of my friends, we'll name her Chuti, had her back turned on the whole thing and didn't even notice anything was going on. After school I told her about it, and she had no recollection of the incident whatsoever.

Also, I'm pretty glad that DA has finally accepted my ISP. For months upon months it had it blocked. All I could do was be frustrated and bang on my helpless, yet crappy computer. All it solved was my short term emotional problems. So, really, it's done nothing for me. But, now as an official Deviant, I got teh power! Muha!
