Yup, you heard me right. I'm off at college. Couldn't you tell, from my distinct lack of updates? Then again, I don't need college in my way to stop me from updating, now do I? *shot*

Horrible jokes aside, I gotta say, I do quite enjoy the college life. My dorm is quite spacious; a decently sized family room, two bedrooms, that, when combined, are about the size of the aforementioned family room. For entertainment, we have a Wii, an Xbox 360, a PS2, and a good old N64. However, before you start getting all jealous on me, let me tell you this: roommates are crazy bizness. Frsrs.

Case in point: My three roommates plus the two girls that seem to live here because they're both infatuated with one of my roommates are playing strip poker in the living room. I'm in my bedroom. Yeah, I said strip poker. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't believe that seeing my friends/roommates in their skivvies (or less) is very good for one's friendship. Now, on to explaining my journal title. I have come to the assumption that college life is much like a sitcom. The reason: those two girls I mentioned earlier have apparently had their fair share of spats over one of my roommates. Think Rosalyn, Squall, and Meranti from Shattered Truths.

Ah well, here's to hoping that things peter out and return to some sense of normalcy. Until next time.

Ummm...Rosalyn. I don't know if this counts as a "nickname", but my parents often call me their "little rose", on account of a flower that my father once found. However, I've never actually seen one, so I don't know how they came by that.

Three months; the same as my twin sister, Saffron.

3. Uh huh. What's your favourite food?

Cheri berries, or any kind of spicy berry, actually.

There are other things to drink than water? Well, I suppose you could count that formula my sister and I were given during the time we spent at the Pokemon Center after we were born, but...I don't really remember much of what it tasted like...

Kissed? I-I don't know what that is, so I can't answer yes or no...

I've never really thought about that sort of thing before. If I had to pick one, though, I would be tempted to say dark blue, like my mother's eyes. I've always thought that they were very beautiful.

Author? Again, I don't know what one of those is...

Losing one of the Pokemon closest to me, like my sister, father, or mother.

I don't see any humor in telling you that I'm afraid of losing my loved ones. That's not funny at all.

My mother; I've always admired her. She's so beautiful, but if she needs to, she can take on an opponent twice her size. I wish I could be more like that... I'm too timid to fight any other Pokemon...

Worst enemy? I don't really have one; I'm not the kind to hold a grudge against others. However, the Pokemon I dislike the more would have to be Chromos; the things that he's done to Ash, me, and probably countless other Pokemon are admittedly horrible. Still, I wouldn't wish harm upon him in any way.

13. What would you do if your hero and your worst enemy got together?

While I'm not the kind to wish or inflict harm on another Pokemon, my mother isn't like that. If she were to know the things that Chromos has done, to me, she wouldn't be nearly as forgiving as I would.

14. Interesting... what would you do if you met your creator?

If my creator were anything like my owner, Eric, I'd be more than happy to meet him.

15. Okay, I'll contact them right now. Done! Now, what do you want to be when you grow up?

I love taking care of kits, so I'd like...to be a mother myself...

The same thing as my worst fear. Don't make me think about something like that...

I'd love to have kits of my own. Three of them, if that doesn't sound too crazy... However, I don't know if that'll ever happen; I'm the only one that doesn't seem to hate Squall. Both my father and sister think he's the worst Pokemon they've ever known...

I would be so happy! Having kits of my own would be such an amazing feeling!

The nursery at the Daycare; I love the warmth of it, the soft grass nests there, and all of the smells there remind me of when I was a little kit.

Before I left the Daycare to go and look for my mother, I loved spending time in the nursery, playing with Bracken, the kit of one of my father's uncles, Swiftclaw.

ANOTHER NEWS UPDATE: I-I've breached 10,000 pageviews...

Yes, it's me; I finally decided it was time to get off my lazy Rohan-playing, Rosario + Vampire-watching butt and make a new journal entry.

Needless to say, quite a few things have happened during the near three-month span since my last entry, the biggest of which was my graduation from high school. You would think that such a monumentous occasion would warrant some type of party, correct?

Correct.

The Saturday after my graduation, I held a Brawl party at my house to end all Brawl parties. Nearly all of my friends came, and we went absolutely nuts. The guest list consisted of:

brought his extensive knowledge of Kirby, MK, and DDD.
attended, packing two bow-wielding characters: Pit and Toon Link.
also came. However, she didn't partake in the Brawl festivities. I was still glad that she came, though.
Well duh... Of course I was there, making challengers earn any wins against me.

Outside of my DA friends:

My future college roommate came in throwing Zelda's Lightning Kicks left and right. (I still don't know how he hits with them so well.)

My old next-door neighbor came as well, his stunning abilities with Ike in no short supply.

*If I forgot anyone, I sincerely apologize; I was having too much fun to really pay any extensive amount of attention.*

Now that all of that's out of the way, onto all of the other things that have happened:

1. While school was winding down, I fell in love with the Rosario + Vampire series. I've finished watching the first season, I'm currently working on the second season, and I have all seven currently released volumes of the manga, which I find better than the anime. That usually seems to be a theme, I've noticed. That's not to say that I don't like the anime, though. I still do.

2. After school ended, I discovered the MMORPG Rohan: Blood Feud, and fell in love with that. At the moment, my main, a level 35 Elf named SapphireRose (Yes, I play as a female. Remember, though, I do main Peach in Brawl), is currently in the GuardianAngels guild on the Torian server (If any of you out there play Rohan as well.).

3. After much waiting, I finally got my own laptop. With a 2.4 Ghz processor, 4GB of RAM, a 512MB video card, not to mention a 320GB hard drive, it runs like greased lightning, a scalded cat, or whatever hackneyed metaphor you can think of.

That's all I've got to say. If you actually read all of that, I commend you for having quite the attention span.

Second: You know those things that happen once every year? Y'know, birthdays? Yeah, about that... Mine is in about forty-five minutes, or, more precisely, 3:33 a.m. on March 25th. I'm wanting to stay up until then...but...I don't think I'm going to make it...

Thirdly: I've already gotten some presents for this aforementioned birthday; the complete collection of Utawarerumono(which I still can't pronounce correctly *flails*) and the first season of Home Improvement. You know that something's strange when your mom lets you order your own birthday gift online with her credit card, like Utawarerumono. *shot* I also got the second manga volume of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya on March 18, though I don't consider that a gift, per se, because I had to pay for it.

At any rate, I've got some good news, some bad news, and some news that you probably don't care about, but I'm going to tell you anyway.

The good news: I'm (sorta) back in the writing mode; slowly but surely I'm plugging away at Ch. 42. I've also got ideas galore to get to; for both Shattered Truths and Shadows of Deceit. It's just the matter of getting to them... *flails*

The bad news: Apparently, some snot-nosed fool decided to report the ASSIS/ST Family Tree as art theft, and, as such, it was removed from my gallery... I probably won't re-upload it, due to the high probability of the same thing happening again, so, if you want it for reference, I'd be happy to shoot it to you by means of e-mail or IM file transfer, whichever you'd prefer.

The news that you probably don't care about, but I'm going to tell you anyway: For some strange reason, I decided to fire up my old N64 one day and play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. After about a half hour or so, I said to myself: "WOW! I forgot how fun this game was!" If any of you have a N64, Gamecube, or Wii of your own, you have absolutely NO excuse to have not played this game before.

Play it. Now.

And, for all of those who asked on my last journal entry, but I was too lazy to answer you, (*shot*) the plot for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya goes something like this: the titular character, Haruhi Suzumiya, is an incoming high school student who boldly states that she is not interested in normal humans, but instead in, aliens, time travelers, and espers. After some time, she...ahem..."asks" the other main character, Kyon, to form a club to investigate mysterious happenings. Before the end of the first season, this club, dubbed the SOS Brigade, has five members, including Haruhi and Kyon; Yuki Nagato, Itsuki Koizumi, and Mikuru Asahina. Now, here's where things get kinda cool; each of the three previously mentioned members are either an alien, time traveler, or esper. I'll leave who's who up to you. Also interesting; unbeknownst to Haruhi, she apparently has the ability to alter reality at will, based on her emotional stability. Not your average high school, eh?

The day that happens will be when I willingly give up breathing. As I don't intend to head in that direction anytime soon, you have nothing to worry about.

Instead, the reason for my recent straying of my regular update pattern is 100% attributable to my newfound interest in an anime that is not Pokemon. (*Disclaimer* When referring to the Pokemon TV show, I use the term "anime" very loosely...) You know you're a n00b when you've been a part of your school's Anime Club for the past two years, yet only become interested in a real anime in the last two weeks.... Ahahahaha-*shot*

The anime, you ask? Ah, thought we'd never get here... The anime runs by the name of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya." Upon first telling one of my friends this, they wasted no time in telling me that the manga (pronounced mawn-gah, by the way; s'a big pet peeve of some people, learn it now), was much better than the anime itself. When I asked why, their predominant reason was the discrepancy between the broadcast order of said anime when compared to its actual chronological order (2, 3, 5, 10, 13, 14, 4, 7, 6, 8, 1, 12, 11, 9). Despite their insistence of the manga's superiority (I do concur, it is quite good; I actually have the second volume already pre-ordered), I still find the anime very good, evidenced by my purchase of the complete DVD set. After all, it's rather strange (not to mention downright hilarious) when you have a timid character wielding what appears to be an AK-47 while dressed in a bunny girl ensemble. AhahahahaLOLWHUT?

Welllll... I think that just about explains my inactivity lately. Once more, it's self-promotion tiem!

The reason? Quite recently, I've seen many 80 page notebooks that are glue-bound. Eeeww... I do not like glue-bound notebooks, for two reasons; One: They are rather prone to falling apart, and, Two: They are near impossible to (cleanly) fold over on themselves like I usually tend to do. As to the 70 page thing, that's just because that's what the first chapter of ASSIS and ST went down in, and I'd prefer to keep them in that pattern.

Notebook rant aside, I've got a serious question:

As you might be able to tell, ST is rapidly nearing the point at which ASSIS was finished. Also as you might be able to tell, ST is not about to slow down anytime soon; I've still got plenty of ideas to get down, especially one involving Sapphire, Chromos, and Becota; watch for that one. In light of ST's imminent length, I had to stock myself up with a few more notebooks (70 page, spiral-bound, of course *shot*). If I had to give an estimate on the supposed number of chapters ST will have, I'd have to air on the guess of about 60-65. To make sure that I can keep as true to that number as possible, I might be going for slightly longer chapters, of about 20-ish pages (written pages) in length. But I digress; allow me to return to my question. Is there a maximum number of chapters that you, the reader, would follow to, or would you see it through to the end? (I know a select few of you would, no matter how many chapters it turns out to be; this question is directed to the majority of you.)

That said, all of you faithful readers of A Sapphire Shines in Sinnoh and Shattered Truths have helped to make the time that I've spent here truly amazing; as I've said before, I never intended for A Sapphire Shines in Sinnoh to become as popular as fast as it did, nor did I expect to glean all the fanart I have accumulated for both of them. Each and every one of you will be excited to hear that Shattered Truths will, in fact, receive a sequel of its own. The title of this third work will be Shadows of Deceit, and you will be receiving the central, driving prophecy that will be used in this work in Chapter 39(or earlier, if I want to cash in on its odd poem...ness, and make it a deviation of its own). I did get some writing done (can't say that much for typing, huh?) , but not as much as I'd have liked. Well, over the (seemingly) short summer, July 31st came and went. Anyone want to take a guess why that date is important? Anyone? No? All right. That's when the introduction to A Sapphire Shines in Sinnoh went up. I intended to have the last chapter up by that date this year (didn't quite get that done, now did I?) That is due to my acquisition of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, then Soul Calibur IV, and the loss of my wisdom teeth (ugh.).

As you might be able to tell, I'm back, with over 200 deviations to sort through... I don't know if I'm going to sit down and sort through all of them; I might end up just deleting them all. If there's something that you really want me to see, just leave me a note.

What was it, you ask? Ah, the small event that solicited eighteen hours of driving was, in fact, Jeff Dunham. Yes, you heard me right. Jeff was performing in Sioux City the weekend of the 20th of June. For those who have never seen, or, heaven forbid, heard of him, do yourself a favor and look him up on Youtube.

Well, that was last weekend, so, obviously I had to come back to reality(and work), the latter of which took up my weekend.
Today wasn't an exception, as I had to be at the theater at 8:30 A.M. Thankfully though, I was able to get off three hours early, which means more Brawl for me!

Unfortunately, the computers are no challenge for me anymore, along with most of the people on Wi-fi. With that said, I am putting out a...challenge, if you will. I would appreciate it very much if I could get some new people to play against(I also need more than 4 people on my Friend Roster).

I'll let you choose whether or not you want to play with items; I'm happy either way. On one hand, playing with no items is a true test of skill. On the other, if we've got items on, you have access to your Final Smash, and so do I, which means I can assail you with Peach's pink, flowery dance of DOOM.

In a nutshell, the book tells of Jesse's story as he endures his parents divorce, and eventually learns to express himself through music, hence the title. He tells the reader that you must find a way to express those feelings; be it sports, drawing, or writing.

Unless you're or (my good friends from school) you probably won't know that my parents are, in fact, divorced. I italicized the end of the above paragraph for obvious reasons.

Take Fireheart, Leafpool, and Rustfur, for example. What is that? It's a complete family; something I once had. Torrentpaw and Needlefur are another good example.

My question to you is: How am I doing in portraying those familial relationships? Is it coming across as believable?

First off, I have mastered yet another character in Brawl and that is the Altean prince, Marth. For starters, his Final Smash, Critical Strike, is beastly. If he gets the Smash Ball, you'd better pray that you don't get to see the receiving end of it, because it is a one-hit KO. The only bad thing is, if you use it in midair and miss; you'll go flying off the side of the stage. So far, I haven't trusted myself enough to use it under said conditions. The next reason for my enjoyment of using Marth is a little more subtle, and that is his Counter move. There's something about hearing him yell something in Japanese that's both hilarious and satisfying at the same time.

Next up, you might have seen the commercials on TV for the newest Diamond and Pearl booster packs: Majestic Dawn. If you have, in fact, seen them, you'll know that these packs contain the long awaited Leafeon and Glaceon cards. The last two Eevee-lutions also get their own theme decks, one of which I very recently purchased. As I picked up the "Forest Force" deck, I saw that it contained a Leafeon (duh) and also an Espeon. It took it a moment to sink in, then I was like: "Wait a minute... Leafeon…Sapphire…Espeon…Rustfur... OMG! NO WAI! I MUST HAVE THIS!" (I think I just established myself as a complete nerd for getting so excited over trading cards...)

Thirdly, I also got myself a DS "Expressions Kit." It comes with a cool blue case, adorned with Mario, and a bunch of other goodies for my favorite handheld, including another pen stylus (clicky, clicky).

Last, but nowhere near the least, after a massive 3 different covers, 5 notebooks, 44 chapters (not including a prologue and epilogue), 349 days, and 695 pages of writing; as of 05/31/08... A Sapphire Shines in Sinnoh has been, wait for it...completed!

Yes, you heard me, the tale of Rustfur, Sapphire, and company has been finished! The one that my mom even got "published" as a Christmas gift (well, the first 17 chapters, anyway)! Also the one that some of you amazing artists wanted to illustrate!

I’ve gotten to see my characters grow and change, fall in love, and some of them even evolve. I'll admit that, because of that, I was actually a little loathe to finish it. I had been working on it for almost an entire year. That too, made me hesitate in finishing it. However, I got past that, and wrapped 'er up.

Of course, I couldn't just leave you all wondering what happens to the characters you've all become so attached to, so, without delay, I started working on a sequel the very same day. To tell you the truth, I'd actually had ideas for one since about Chapter 34 or so. Unfortunately, I am not at liberty to tell you the title quite yet, as I will not risk giving out any spoilers. However, I will tell you, there are several new characters joining the cast. I will also tell you that I am immensely enjoying writing this sequel (Yes, this means I will try to get the last 17 chapters up as fast as I can, so you all can share in my euphoria as well. After all, I wouldn't want to be selfish.).

There you have it! I am ecstatic right now, and you can see why. I'm also a little tired, and that's because I'm typing this at 2:00 in the morning (hey, it's summer, innit?). I've got one more little bit of news for you before I fall asleep on my keyboard. Tomorrow…er…today, I'll be putting up Chapter 28, and if my attention span holds, Chapter 29.

Chewy baked goods aside, and in all seriousness, I apologize for keeping you all waiting for such a long time. I will have a new chapter up today, and if not today, then tomorrow will show you my next installment.

Anyway, enough about that. Come April 27th, about a week after said hiatus began, I got my hands on a copy of Mario Kart Wii. Boy, that was hell not being able to play it... You can imagine my excitement when I was permitted to play it. For those of you that don't yet have it, it is pure win, and you must get it. I was also excited to play Brawl again; now I have another character that rivals my ability with Peach, and that is Fox (only because Krystal isn't playable in Brawl...).

Which leads me to the only point I haven't yet addressed, Starfox. Recently, I've become interested in Starfox again, for reasons known only to myself (see mild rant at the end of the above paragraph). I'm desperately hoping that they make a Starfox for the Wii, with Wi-fi, of course, in which you can play as different characters, not like Starfox Command, because, for me, SFA is not much fun, unless we've got four people going at it.

For instance, the USB Flash Drive I'm backing up my story with, is U3 compatible. That essentially means I can download programs directly onto it, then launch said programs directly from it, on any computer. Like Trillian, which is a chat system that incorporates MSN, Yahoo, and AIM into one useful interface.

So now, I have access to all three of those. If any of you do, send me a note with your username for that service.

When I saw the subject, I said, "OMG! I must enter this contest! I love this idea!" (All bad puns aside, back to seriousness.) But as you may know, I was not gifted with a natural talent for drawing. Needless to say, I was a little deflated. That is, until I saw a text-based entry. So, at that point, I decided I was going to enter this contest, but not with the traditional piece of artwork, but with a piece of writing. Racking my brain for topics to write about, I finally came up with the idea of writing about how one of my character's parents met. I soon settled on telling the story of how Sapphire's parents met. It's done, about the length of a normal chapter, and you should see it preferably tomorrow or the day after. I really enjoyed this and if you guys like it, maybe I'll tell about how Rustfur's parents met, or something else along those lines.

Good News, Bad News time:

Good news is I got a heckuva lot of time to write, so you'll see Chapter 13 real soon. Methinks you'll be surprised at the events in Chapters 16, 17, and 18. I won't reveal too much, but I will say this: Rustfur finds out he has another uncle. Mother's side or father's side? Oooo....I can't tell you that, not just yet anyway.
