such variety! there's not just one thing i can pinpoint!i just like the way she approaches pieces
one of the first pieces that drew me to Ritex. I like the style an textures an how it's got an understated feel
-just look at it!it's just cool an interesting, i've not seen this technique before
i don't think Ritex means this to be a full photo but just of the dolls but i personally like it as a whole. i like the fabric's texture an how the different patterns work together

ok well it was my birthday on the 15th, i asked for money for lolita clothing an some books an stuff from lazy oaf. I have now found out that my mother is physically trying to obstruct me from buying anymore lolita clothing so while she is giving me money she won't give it to me until i have to go back to the flat in london to stop me buying brand name stuff. She says if we see something while we're out she can then give me the money. I was hoping it would be a bonding experience with my mum choosing something she didn't mind an seeing how happy lolita makes me, but no. Thing is i know i WON'T see anything i like because the only thing on my mind is getting some good quality lolita clothing, so when she gives me the money i'm hitting egl sales or closet child HARD. it's not enough an she knows it, but i should get enough from relatives over xmas to make it up. heyhey college is pretty awesome!i'm doing a foundation course in art and design at City an Guilds of London Art school. I get to try out between one to three days of lots of kinds of art an design for 11 weeks before picking a specialisation, i think i have four more weeks of this. So far i've done 3D installation (more as a group bonding excercise), err graphics which was basically text an image, screenprinting, etching, art history(which i continue for a bit), art research (basically getting inspiration from museums other than art ones), jewellery/3d design(i made paper fascinator hats), fashion design, markmaking,/drawing photography an i still have colour, life drawing, painting,an extra batch of printing for different techniques an possibly something else.Anyway it's cool!

i just love the crosshatching an how it creates such a nice effect of the tree bark but doesn't detract from the character in the tree
this is one of my favourite pieces because it has a lovely movement to it that stays fairly strong despite the blacked out night backdrop
i like this alot, firstly because hehe it's so silly an secondly because it's really well drawn!wish i could do hands like that!

few weeks aaaaah!i had to buy a craploadv art materials it's crazy!i've spent over 150 quid on art supplies such as pallette knives, acrylics, ink, sketching pencils, posh types of charcoal, conte crayons(i'm not even sure what they are for, are they like pastels....)oh so much stuff. the best bit though is i get to buy a big new rucksack an new pencil cases ^^i like pencil cases!!!

right well schools out i am currently doing my Alevels which are the last big set of exams for the non-brits out there. They are also the hardest, i'm studying philosophy an ethics (otherwise known as religious studies which is shorted to RS which i then call religious stuff), art(obviously), and psychology. i have tonsilitus very bad for the second time in like a month so artwork is going to be a little slow as it's taking me at least two days to get something that would normally take me a few hours done. er er er not overly much going on-i means there's crap going on-i went to an interview for City and Guilds on Thursday-i think it went okay but there's a definate difference between talking about your art and selling your art...it felt horrible an she wouldn't shut up about manga-it's not even the focus of my portfolio!an she was on about how mine was just copying and i felt like"you obviously have no idea about manga or you would realise most of it fits into genres and looks pretty similar-only a few break the mould-like Yazawa, or the German guy who does the rock star vampires with all the french..midnight opera! in other news-holy crap A levels soon..please don't let me fail!i will revise....promise

right was getting uber down looking at my last post and i just couldn't stand it anymore-what's done is done and can only muddle itself out now..at school aahhh art portfolio is finally coming together just labelling to do and some mounting-my main piece doesn't fit gah..what else...currently studying depression in psychology which is wierd because it's like i'm sitting there writing notes on the symptoms of major depressive disorder like "yeah had that, had that, my councellor said that, oh didn't have that one, oh is that why!it's like i know this stuff" it's a really odd bizarre experience-it's like looking at myself two years ago an the horrible bouts i keep getting myself into but..i'm looking at me...really odd, makes me feel a tad fragile but i'm trying, also been given craploadsa essays so just wading through those too

new club is going really well join it join it now! it's devoted to all artistical pursuits (that means musically influenced art) also fans of patrick wolf go check out 's picture-it's really quite something also people go look at 's photographs in scraps-i think they're rather nice

a level art piece is done an looks alright but desperately needs cropping but what are you gonna do! It's a city scene representing westernisation in japan made through collage. It has a large version of Hokusai's wave woodblock print that i did in watercolour an ink at the back with two ships representing the black ships invasion bringing westernisation with them. Then comes down into three big skyscrapers made from ripped up japanese text i got from thick manga comics as well as one made from adverts-they then all have grey painted over them an my trademark drippage. on the other side is a screen building displaying a means of making eyes look more western wich then becomes a shop with Baby's princess dress (representing a fashion forward nation), a kimono ( a traditional sense japan holds fast onto) an a business suit with a traditional minister of affairs next to it-i was told japan got it's love of business suits from seeing uniform in western countries. Then beneath the skyscrapers is a McDonald's made in the shape of a temple (actually made from McDonald's packaging) i then collaged a crowd into it made up of lolitas, bussiness men, VKers, normal people an i think i got a ganguro in there too. It looks pretty cool! erm normal arty sctuff-don't know-expect more woeful lonely cartoons...otherwise not much planned really...

I went with ~lost-cousin to see Monsieur Patrick Wolf last night-tell you what-this techno indie folk stuff ain't half bad people should really listen to "Tristan" tis FUN! he was like a mix between David Bowie, Adam an the Ants and the Cure. He was all glittery an stylin!like a pirate with peach hair in gold lurex leggings..maybe i'll draw him..support act was dam wierd "No Bra" like man/woman hybrid talking an singing out of tune over house beats(i don't think anyone in the crowd really knew what to think) i also now have a camara!i lack the cords for it (we found it in my nan's house but it's hard for my mum to dig through her things yet) but when i get them in a few months time expect an influx of bad photography (yeah i really am not a good photographer AT ALL it's not a great camara either wich doesn't help but it's better than no camara at all)

right i've been toying with this idea for quite some time and i have decided i'm gonna do it! last week was one of the most dreadful weeks of my life. I usually love a good moan but i can't be bothered. I have no energy an barely an appetite. I'm unwell spiritually, mentally an physically. Alot of art may go up with just "personal meaning" or something like that under it as i don't want to go into it. Just bare in mind i'm fragile currently....roll on half term....god...err in other news i've been told to watch Requiem for a Dream, so i have it an will wait for an oppurtune few hours. Apparently it's gonna change my life...we can only hope. Also got stuck into Paradise Kiss even further-i've bought four in three days-it's my love an obsession for a bit now, i think i have a fair amount in common with Caroline an Miwako, plus Arashi totally pushes my punk button an the texture detailing is totally cool in comparison to most other mangas. Also picked up doll outa curiosity-no clue what it's gonna be like-just bagged ones i heard lolitas tended to read cos i couldn't be bothered with normal research!i need Nana though or i am gonna go mad. otherwise i'm just gonna be moping for a while so i may be quiet or less lolita ish for a few weeks.

school is boring, i'm counting the days 'til it's half term. I'm currently forming my portfolio and working on collage and drawings of city life and crowds working towards my final piece that will hopefully question whether westernisation within Japan is a good thing or a bad thing. Should go well Also still open to ideas on how to display an art essay on how westernisation has affected japanese art (not manga formats-it's strongly based in historical work such as Hokusai and Kuniyoshi)

hopefully going ice skating tonight but i don't know if that's happening now cos my ride is feeling ill. Tis a shame cos i've never been ice skating before but oh well i'm sure i'll get another chance to go again. err not much going on in the personal art front. Another song piece to go up that i'm not overly proud of in its combined form but the pieces apart are good..it'll explain itself better when it's up. It's also an excuse to show off my new princess lolita dress my dad bought me for Christmas. Also have another picture of the other lolita dress he bought me for my birthday(they were cheap because they're long-sleeved but bought in singapore where it's too hot to wear longsleeved things) errr hoping I stand a good chance of getting my mits on 's prize of a tshirt with maria McMorbid on with my comic...i worked really hard on it! otherwise nicht much....i'll try an get what i've talked about uploaded tonight. well at last the exams are done although it does mean o god i'm back to normal lessons now. Though today i only have art an psychology so it can't go too badly i hope. Art went well, remember a while ago i wrote about an essay i had to write on the effect of westernisation on japanese art, an how stupid it was since it's an isolationist culture? well i got it back today from the teacher who always overlooks my existence an she told me she was impressed in front of the whole class an that she actually found it really interesting-all the tweaking that needs doing is to insert my own opinions a little more. Which is something i'm not used to as i used to history essays an now do psychology ones so any referring to yourself is prohibited but it should be easy enough to tweak. I have to find a way to display it though-i was gonna get a cheap kimono from somewhere an write it on that but in like the colours of the american flag but in the shape of it y'know?but i think that's going to prove a tad difficult..grrrr problematic. Any ideas for displaying an essay on westernisation's effects on japanese art would be really really appreciated. Though of course i still have the final piece to battle with..

It's all made up turrets an Goergian houses an spindly staircases an there was a variety of people there which was such a relief as in Chelsea there was such a sense of "i'm indie, i shop exclusively vintage but my trainers cost a fortune." that's okay in small doses but in large groups ends up with reeeeeeeaaaaaallly up themselves people. hehe This little hidden City and Guilds only has like 170 people and one teacher to ten students!(chelsea is one to 30 or even 60 an my teacher already leaves me out) it was awesome...if anyone does see my little block on interweb have you seen City an Guilds or perhaps if anyone goes there i'd love a student's perspective on the place. in other news i went to Harvey Nicks with dear old mam an there was this awesome model dressed in a huge black an white dress and headress/mask all made of spoons, i naturally asked to take a picture an was told it was okay, i went to do so an someone came along an said "you can't take pictures security will escort you out" i said "but she said i could" an gestured to the woman who was now busy helping someone an she just gave me this look like "yeah right" moody cow....
