Je ne commencerai pas par la présentation traditionnelle qu'on peut trouver au dos de la plupart des ses bouquins. Savoir son lieu de naissance ou son âge ou l'heure à laquelle il va aux chiottes est absolument inutile.

Je commencerai donc par dire que David Calvo est l'auteur le plus transcendantal que je connaisse. Il est le seul à me plonger dans des états pareils : mieux que de la drogue, les sensations sont pures, on conserve ses facultés mentales (mieux, il les exalte!), et l'addiction n'est qu'une contrepartie minime (et tellement délicieuse!) en regard de la beauté de ses textes. David Calvo, c'est un peu comme un trip sous acide. LE trip. Et pas un badtrip. Poignant.

David est polyvalent. David est un véritable artiste, et en plus, comme il est trop cool, il illustre même certain de ses bouquins. w00t.

Son univers vous l'aurez compris est celui d'un otaku de la Vie. Il nous délivre de la magie, de la peur, de la joie, de ce tout que l'on veut toujours découvrir plus avant, de façon plus poussée, d'une façon plus magique, plus mystique, même...

Une expérience unique donc, qui bouleverse et marque l'esprit au fer rouge d'une multitudes de petites étoiles colorées.

I found some really interesting things...

First, I've read that in some versions (because, as you probably know it, Perrault and the Grimm brothers just interpretated in their own way an old story probably coming from the middle-age that has known a lot of variations in time), some darker versions, the Little Red Riding Hood eats the leftovers of her grandmother... left by the wolf. So, they share the same meal, but, moreover, it symbolizes the passage of the little red riding hood to the adlut age, to the age of reproduction... Because at the moment she eats her grandmother, she becomes able to have children, too. The grandmother here being the figure of the mother in a way, the old woman who already had children, blah blah blah... I like the fact that when they share this meal, the little girl becomes able to procreate. I'm a little bit upset because I can't seem to find if she stays with the wolf or not after this... I wish she did. I have this fascination for this couple...

Also, first it was entitled "the little red dress"... and the red cap that came afterward was first supposed to be a piece of clothing wrapped around her head, and not the cloak she now wears... Apparently, Arthur Rackham ( ) contributed a lot to the expansion on the red cloak.
