I would have worn it whether Matt was there or not, but the more I thought about it, the more excited I was to meet one of the artist for the Sonic comics. So, yeah, that was the highlight of the convention. (In all honestly, I thought the convention was kind of dull anyway, which added to my hanging around his table. Maybe I'm getting too old for cons.)

Edit: I realize I should explain something...this money isn't in addition to anything...it will be my income for the summer, so thank goodness I'm receiving it. Fellowships and assistantships and the like are how people in my program are paid.

Along with starting school came the process of moving, then returning home for a friend's wedding, waiting for internet to be connected, school work, working in the lab....so I haven't been here for a while and I doubt I'll be adding any new art any time soon since I need to not find ways to distract myself. At least, no drawn stuff for a while....photos maybe since they don't take much time.

The show was virtually nowhere to be found in North America between the years 1995 and 2007. Bootlegs could be found on eBay every now and then, and poor quality downloads could occasionally be dug up on the internet, but if a person didn't like the show back when it aired, then they wouldn't be likely to spend the money or time on either of these, right? I certainly wouldn't if I were them.

So....

Have many, if not most, of these haters been ranting for 15 years about how much they hate a show they last saw when they were most likely under the age of 10?!

And how can someone even hate something as insignificant as a TV show or fictional character for 15 years anyway? You'd think they'd stop caring after a while.

Just something to think about.

By the way, anyone know how to turn off this smiley at the top of the journal? I don't particularly want anything there.

Found the missing sketchbook today, which is where these new four pictures came from. Actually, they're a bit older, but whatever. My first 2 fangirls are found, and in looking at the pictures, I discovered yet another fangirl I had forgotten about! She's not colored yet, so she'll go up when I finish her. I knew I had planned her out, but I didn't remember drawing her at all! So, expect Fangirl: Naruto...eh, wait, not making any promises as to a date.

Also started on some My Little Pony fanart. I had been keeping a drawn record of all the MLPs I own, but I haven't touched it in years, since 2000 or so I think, and the only thing I even consider MLP "fanart" is from second grade. Yet as I was drawing these new pictures, everything came back, and I could draw them without really thinking about it, like I had never stopped drawing them in the first place. It was scary, actually. Although cool to think all that earlier effort actually paid off.
