I got to go to Star wars in Concert friday night in Salt Lake City!

and it was AMAZING!

I first heard about this concert when I was talking to

a while back. She mentioned that she had gone to one of the performances and that I would absolutely love it and should go. Um hello! Orchestra + Star Wars = two of my favorite things! Of course I would want to go! ( I played viola for 6 years-I know how to play cello and violin as well) The thought of a concert like this being preformed SO close to where I live was just amazing! I checked online to see if there were still tickets left. Yes there were!

Then I came to the realization that none of my friends or acquaintances would really want to go with me to something like this. I didn't have a car available so getting there and back home would be a problem as well. Feeling depressed and that I was going to be missing a fun opportunity, I reluctantly let the idea go, and moved on.

Until last wednesday...

My father came home from Settle from a business trip and was talking to me about books I had borrowed from him. One of those books was the Tao of Pooh (a book that explains Taoism by using the analogy of Winnie the Pooh-good read btw.) and he told me he needed it for a class he was teaching. I said I would give it back, and then proceeded to tell him that I had recently bought a book called "The Tao of Star Wars" and that it explained Taoism with the use of Star Wars. My dad suddenly looked at me excitedly and said, "OH! That reminds me!" I was a bit startled by this. Had he read the book already? NO, something FAR BETTER->

He told me that while he was in Settle he met the concertmaster (a concertmaster is the leader of the first violin section in an orchestra who usually preforms solos, as well as the lead in tuning a full orchestra) for Star Wars in Concert at the hotel swimming pool. They talked for a very long time, the concertmaster, Joe ( forgot his last name, sorry) explained that he was on tour with a whole orchestra that preformed music from all six of John Williams' epic Star Wars scores. Narrated live by Anthony Daniels (the actor who portrayed C-3PO in all six films), the production features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, high-definition LED super-screen -- one of the largest ever put on tour. And he had worked with John Williams many times! WHOA.

My dad told him that his daughter (haha me) would totally eat this up.
Joe told my dad that they were preforming in Salt Lake City soon and that my dad and I should come see it, then to come find him afterwards and chat. WHOA.
My dad asked me if I wanted to go.
My reaction: "OF COURSE! I really wanted to go but I thought I couldn't go, OMG, that would be AWESOME!" So my dad and I bought tickets that very day for the concert friday the 16th!

(Random:To add to more of my dad's Star Wars/Settle experience he ran into several other of the orchestra performers in the elevator of the hotel he was staying at) He said that it stopped on almost every floor because everyone was hurrying to get to their bus for their Settle concert. LOL)

The concert was held in the Energy Solutions Arena (were the Utah Jazz always play, mind you) My dad and I presented our tickets and went inside. We had about an hour and a half to kill so we wandered over to the SW Exhibit that featured costumes and artwork from the real movies! There was the original C-3PO costume ( for episode 3, I think) some Ewok costumes, guards, Padme costumes, and the original Darth Vader costume! (omg spaaaazzzzz!) Picture found here-> [link]

Anyway, I got some pictures taken with people dressed up as Boba Fett, Stormtroopers, Wedge Antilles, and Darth Vader! Whoa, it was pretty freaktastic, it even had the breathing sound, so when I was standing in front of him it was kinda freaky. Shiver. Despite the fact that these pictures were taken with a crappy camera phone, I was ONE HAPPY ELO!

Lastly, before the show started my dad gave his business card to an usher to give to Joe backstage to let him know that we were there. Hurray!

Now I can see why my parents refused to let me watch it as a young child-it is quite dark, especially for a Disney film. I have to confess, it was quite refreshing to behold considering how crappy Disney movies seem to be as of late. But to be honest, I side with my parents in saying that I wouldn't recommend it to little kids. There is sooo much stuff in there that will just fly over their heads. It's insane.

For instance, the whole plot is practically driven by the fact that an old man has the hots for a young gypsy woman, and is so obsessed with her that he will practically ANYTHING to have her. (burn Paris to the ground)

Still, it's good, but a more mature and older audience will appreciate it more so than a little kid. I suppose that is what those silly gargoyles are for. Har Har har, Jason Alexander.

Anyway,
I Love the soundtrack and went searching for it today and found a song from the Hunchback of Notre Dame Musical ( de Paris) instead.

Frollo is probably one of the best Disney villains ever because he's so HUMAN-flawed, has weaknesses, is easily corruptible, and most of all, hypocritical. (gotta love the whole religious stuff in here) Oh lol, and he's got that evil villain nose. Hahaha aka the Dark Ace nose. I LOVE IT!

Anyway,

(On a side note: If you've read my past journal about my eye problems. I still am sensitive to flashes and stuff, but it looks like things have calmed down a bit. I just can't watch stuff in the dark. if I was still struggling on the same level that I was about a week and a half ago, I wouldn't be writing a journal about watching a movie now would I? well the Quark club (sci-fi/fantasy club) at my school decided to make their own version of 'jaywalking' but over course, in fantasy/sci-fi style. 10 questions were formulated, and random people on campus were then asked if they knew the answers.

Star Wars fans will probably get a kick out of this. But if you like anything movies, games, comics, etc, then all of this might be enjoyable for you

What I've learned today from my eye appointment:
My eyes are old school, traditional, & non-comformist to new technology. Aka. can't handle LCD, LED lighting etc very well.
Oh, and don't forget the whole light sensitivity thing...

How on earth am I supposed to go into a Visual Arts Major/minor like this?!

In sum, the last few weeks I have been very sensitive to light and flashes, especially when it comes to watching movies. I thought it was just some headache/migraine thing that would eventually pass, especially if I got a new eye prescription, but when I couldn't even watch Anakin and Obiwan battle General Grevious in Star Wars III without flinching and averting my eyes in film class yesterday (when I have been able to watch it plenty of times in the past without said symptoms)...yeah, well, that's a sign something's wrong.

In other words I had to drop my Intro to Film class because of this issue.

I'm so sad.

So now I'm scrambling to sign up for different classes that I don't necessary want to take. I know I could have had a blast in my film class because everyone was just so strange, funny, and well, a majority had similar interests as me.
Never before have I been in a class where people actually respected and loved the same things that I do. For example, I was so surprised to see people-even other girls-who loved Star Wars. My TA had a crazy mustache, would make crazy comments and even theatrically fall onto the floor and do the worm. Yes, weird, but very refreshing for a school as formal and ridged as mine can be at times. I'm going to miss it.

So, I might have to end up wearing some vaguely tinted lenses in the future when looking at my computer screen or watching a movie because sadly, technology just keeps getting 'better' for the can-handle-LCD audiences. I think my future with working with a computer for visual arts is endangered.

What to do, what to do.

Oh well, I just thought my watchers ought to know the reason of why I might post less art in the future.

I have just started school, so I won't be around here as often as I was this summer.
Don't worry though, I still plan to paint. I can't live without it.

I'm really excited for this semester!

I'm taking some of my GEs (general education credits required to graduate):
History of Creativity
Astronomy
Intro to Film
Survey of World Religions
Intermediate Volleyball

Astronomy simply rocks because we have class in a large planetarium with a huge dome overhead that can realistically project the stars on it. It's amazing to behold. Oh, and the seats recline, that's a plus. Don't fall asleep though!

My Intro to Film Professor looks and acts like Stephen Colbert.

I haven't had my Religion class yet, but yaaay, looking forward to it. The guy is from Korean and he's like 85 years old.

History of creativity looks intense, but looking forward to it. We are going to be studying 'creativity' up to 1500 AD in art, science and technology. (egypt, mesopotamia greece, etc)

Volleyball-well, let's just say there are a lot of really tall people in it, I'm scared.

My roommates are pretty cool this semester. Very friendly. Something I'm not used to due to my two years of bad roommate experiences. (minus Yusa, she was a great roommate and friend!) The universe must have recognized my need for some nicer and older people to live with. I don't think I could handle another year of rotten bratty freshmen.

But in all reality. I'm so thankful I lucked out!

The apartment complex I live in is right at the bottom of campus, so it is very easy to get to school fast thank goodness...And it has a volleyball court and pool, enough said.

I've just received two letters of recommendation from BYU professors for transferring over to Payap University for a semester or two. I'm so friggin excited! It's not set in stone yet, but once I get all the other application work done and sent in, it will be reviewed and considered for my addition to the SEA program. To be honest, I believe I've got a really good chance to get in. I'm so excited and hopeful! If excepted, I will get to learn Thai and Southeast asian culture better!

So yeah, I can't think of anything else to say at the moment other than I'm working on a really big digital piece right now and would love to have it up in the near future. So be on the look out for that. Thanks for your support.

Fan Expo starts tomorrow, and dang I wish I could go. I was planning on it, but due to the expenses and passport problems I had to pass.

There are so many exciting things happening at this event!
I was planning on meeting some of my favorite voice actors (Scott McNeil) and indulge in the geekdom that is Star Trek and Star Wars-I would have been able to meet Leonard Nemoy and Billy Dee Williams! Gahhh! And I would have especially gone to the Storm Hawks panel!

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you are going to Fan Expo...please have fun and take lots of pictures and tell me all about it when you get back!

Now usually I don't pull a Garfield and hate mondays, but I'm dreading this monday...Education Week...
First.
I'm too tired to explain to those of you who don't know what it is. All you need to know is that bazillons of people come to my campus and create massive havoc while trying to drink in the knowledge. Conveniently, I will be thrown into the middle of it for 8 hrs a day every day this week.

I am going to die.

Second.
I'm waiting for that letter to come, I need it if I'm going to be able to get to Thailand for January...I really don't want to stick around here for another year.

Third. Moving out this week, sounds weird to think about...I can't move into my new place until the end of next week sometime. Will be traveling back to the parents place. Gotta go get school books for this semester too.

Fourth. Last night was fun posting up those Star Trek pics. I really needed to vent and drawing and coloring is a way to do it for me. Star Trek of all stuff. I guess I've really come to enjoy it. My parents are sort of Trekkies; they liked Generations and Voyager the most. So it was always on once a week when a new episode aired and stuff. But yeah, I've kinda grown up with all of it in the background-it's fun to like this kind of stuff, even though I can't appreciate absolutely everything about it. A majority of the characters are quite compelling. That's a plus.

Fifth. I finally got around to watching A Very Potter Musical this morning. It was hilarious to say the least. You can find it on YouTube. I think Voldemort os more scary in this than the actual films. Haha. Brilliant scary.

Sixth. You would think I would put a gif in my journal entry or something awesome like that now that my subscription dies tomorrow...

I perfected my pokerface while playing cards for 3 hours and permanently have a stump imprint on my butt from sitting on one for 8 hrs. (no joke) Yaaay. I've discovered that camping is not my thing, but the company was nice and the scenery around me was gorgeous so it was worth it.

I can't even begin to tell you how long I've waited for this.

I was obsessed when it came out in the Naruto Manga. Many reasons as to why I love it so much is because we get to witness little Kakashi, Obito, and most of all Naruto's daddy-Minato, in action.
What makes Kakashi Gaiden so amazing is that we get to find out about Kakashi's past; what made him the way he is today and why he has a sharingan. It follows a really touching story of his interaction with his team members Rin and Obito, whom with the later he butts heads with on a regular basis. But they each teach each other some important lessons. Well, Obito was the greatest example to Kakashi, anyway. And in the end Obito even sacrifices himself for his team's safety. Wow, I was sad when I read this part in the manga, but I got a little teary-eyed while watching it in the anime today.
Wow...And to hear Kakashi cry. *heart is crushed*

This is the only reason I've kept in touch with Naruto lately, because it's just gotten so boring and so ridiculous, but
I believe that if you are to watch any two episodes of Naruto, these would be the ones. It's got plot, action, and most of all real characters stuck in real difficult situations.

Anyway, I almost want to make more fanart for Team Minato. Especially for Kakashi and Obito. Obito is so adorable. Gotta love Obito and his eyedrops, awwwwww.. And you just want to play with Kakashi's hair. The little brat. When he first popped up on screen I couldn't help but squee a little.

Done laughing now? Ok, I didn't think so. But anyway, this is a big deal for me because I hardly ever remember my dreams. And when I do remember them, they always end up being about random weird stuff or made of nightmareish material. So I've always wanted to have dreams about the books/shows/movies I like, but I rarely ever have them.

Until this last week.

Holy crap, I've remembered every dream I've had this week, it's scaring me man. And while a majority of them have been nightmares, I have had some really awesome ones. I even had a dream about Storm Hawks, which has never happened before-yeah, the Dark Ace was in it-!!!

Anywho, back to Harry Potter. I can't remember all the details but it was like a huge chase scene between Harry and Voldemort. It was scary man! Exhilarating, but scary. Ever watch The Incredibles? Yeah, that scene where Dash is trying to outrun those evil guys? Think of that, but in a large dark foggy forest in Europe with mountains and rivers all around. It was just WHOA, fantastically scary. I'm sure Voldemort caught Harry, because next think I remember he was giving him the Dark mark. (I'm getting the book harry potter and a harry potter fanfic mixed up in my dream, interesting...) Anyway, I woke up by that point and was like, omg I just had a Harry Potter dream. Went back to sleep and dreamed about Voldemort and Harry playing catch with a football instead.

Stupid I know, but I'm just so happy about it...not to mention today is July 31...which is Harry Potter's birthday! HAHAHA. Ok, the only reason I know that is because I just reread book seven. So lol, yeah had a dream on HP's b-day...it's a sign I tell you a sign!

I'm sorry I'm just being stupid right now.

Oh I also had a dream about Venom last night, you know from the 3rd Spiderman movie? Only I went to watch it's sequel the Mummy/and Spiderman 4 mixed...it was so dumb. But yeah Spiderman was in my dream too, how wicked is that?!

Anyway, I have nothing else ridiculous to say at the moment, so I'm just going to slide of the stage and never come back. (that's a lie you know XD)

The media.

First of all, the 24 hour news cycle.
Yes it's convenient to have it available at all times, but it's not convenient when there is NOTHING to report on. Seriously! CNN, FOX, ABC or whoever else, no longer share the news, its all directed towards sensationalism, entertainment, and opinion verse NEWS. Whatever that may be, seriously, I don't even know what would be real news anymore because there has been so much crap shoved at my face.

Ok, I know this is going to sound harsh but SHUT UP ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON! PLEASE! Yeah it sucks that he died that way, and it was nice to have everyone pay respects to him, but stop taking everything to the extreme- I don't want to know about what's going to happen to his dog or his lasagna rotting in his fridge. SHUT UP and MOVE ON. Oh that's right, there is nothing else to talk about...ok, MICHAEL JACKSON IT IS! Like he didn't have enough media crap thrown on him while he was alive. Pffff.

Also why is everything about who stabbed who? About who hurt/killed who? Who's out to get you? I'm sorry, true you need to be aware of the dangers around you, but I want to be informed, not toadied to, not pampered, and especially not freaked out of my friggin mind over something that probably won't even affect me.

Another thing, what's up with newscasters? Why do they look so FAKE so STIFF-so inhuman?! Hello Shirece, I would like to see the news not your unnecessary & enormous implants in my face, thank you very much! OH, and Tom, cut down on the Botox ok?! It makes you LOOK SCARY! Ugh. What is this a beauty contest or the news? OH right, that's what we want to see, beauty contest it is then.

The love hate relationship with the business side is interesting to ponder-without the biz you ain't got no shiz.

It's business that brings us what we want, & wonderful stuff we wouldn't have discovered without its help. But we do get ripped off. Yeah, it's true. This isn't just about what is happening in the economy right now, this has been happening for a long time, and it's gotten worse and worse.
Just think of what happened to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (bumping it up to summer for more money) and stories like Naruto. I haven't been following it for about a year now because it just got so out of hand, so drawn out and boring. You know why? Sure Kishimoto, the author, might have a little bit to do with where the direction is headed, but his editors are the ones who really take the reins and steer. Apparently they told him that he had to draw out the series longer so that they could make more money...I mean yeah, that makes sense, more money the better right? But if everyone starts losing interest in the actual story, then you get no dough. I suppose there can't be a happy medium between creating a decent story that the intended audience can enjoy, and the businesses getting your money so they're happy as well.
Naaah, let's keep exploiting the consumer bwahahahahahaha!

Another issue. ADs.
I suppose this wouldn't be such a big deal for me if things that were once ad-less stayed ad-less. But they don't. Take for instance magazines like Newsweek. It used to have minimal ads that were only half a page, then slowly those ads became full paged ads, then printed onto thicker paper so that you would have to thumb past it so you could get to the material that you actually wanted to read. Oh and now multiple sites have ads now when they used to be spotless- Youtube, Deviantart, fanfiction.net. It's just kind of annoying really. Trying to stick all of this in my face everywhere I go, eh?

Movies.

I think Hollywood has lost its touch. What happened to caring about actors actually ACTING? I think that CGI has become an obsession with directors and creators alike. George Lucas *cough* and just look what became of the prequels. It just baffles me to think that these people want to use CGI to WOW us, but are disappointed when we don't react that way. It's like...well duh, movie-making is a form of storytelling, and if you have no story, if we don't get attached to its characters and want to know what's going to happen next, then of course we aren't going to be WOWED by it. That's why even if a movie has AMAZING effects, but no plot I can't say it's wonderful. Don't judge a movie just based on effects, please! Are we just too stupid to understand a story now that we have to be wowed by visual eye-candy?

Ok...I suppose it's cute, but I still don't understand what all the hype is about.

It's sort of interesting if you know the history it's spoofing, but at the same time it's just very...pointlessly random. I dunno. I guess it just comes off as very annoying to me how random and lighthearted it is when the subject matter is a very serious and DARK one. As a result, it's not hard to believe that Italy is the character that annoys me most.

Everything is so very stereotypical about each country to the point where it could be very offensive to some. I mean, I'm an American, and America is stereotyped as an idiot who likes to constantly eat hamburgers and proclaim himself as a hero. But it doesn't really offend me, I actually find America to be quite hilarious, but still, I don't know... Maybe I have to be Japanese to understand and appreciate all of this to the extent that they can with this series. Or maybe I just have to appreciate extreme randomness to like it?

Japan is definitely portrayed with an aura of superiority even though he has his own stereotypes unveiled. That bugs me, but yet again, DUH, Japan made this show. It's going to be biased.

So in short, I don't really know how I feel about this whole Hetalia thing...I don't see it as something I would really get obsessed over. But because each episode is so short, and it's not absolutely TERRIBLE I think I'll continue to watch it. All I know for sure at this point is that Austria and Germany are the characters I like most, and the ending song has been friggin stuck in my HEAD all day!

OHH!!! I just found out there is a new character- THAILAND! And he's a HOTTIE.

I want to find out more about him but I guess he's so new there isn't much info or pictures on him. He looks kinda like Kou from Monochrome Factor...hmmm...and he's wearing glasses. Oh call me a nerd but I love a man in glasses.

Ok, I might like this show even more now because of this. Shallow, I know but, Wooooo Thailand!!!!! They didn't forget THAILAND! My second home country!

On a serious note, I would recommend watching
The Killing Fields.
ItÂs rated R but for how accurately the events based on a true story are portrayed. We learn about the horrors of the Holocaust in school, some of the genocide in Rowanda, and even a tiny bit about StalinÂs regime that caused millions to die. But we never hear anything about the genocides that took place in Cambodia directly after the Vietnam War. This movie gives the view a tiny taste of the terror that inflicted this Southeast Asian nation and its people.
The world needs to know what happened in Cambodia, and through the medium of film, we can make the world more aware.

Just everything about the movie freaked me out-the diseased people, mannequins, the loneliness, etc. It was not cool.

I can't really say exactly how I feel about it as a whole at the moment, but I just want to get the general feelings/reactions out before I go to bed.

Ok, I actually liked how lighthearted a majority of the film was. Especially with the romance stuff, extra fluffy. It was cute.

I think they did a good job on the memories thing. However, I would have liked to have seen more of them-like the whole thing about Voldy's mother, her brother and father, and older Tom scenes. (like when he comes to ask for a job at Hogwarts) But hey, whatever.

They executed the unbreakable vow scene quite well. But DUH, any scene with Alan Rickman in it is AMAZING. They need to have him in there MORE! (his only downfall is that he is starting to look really old

) What bothered me the most in this movie is that we didn't get to see a DADA lesson from Snape and the ever so hilarious "NO need to call me, SIR Professor" yeah I know it wouldn't have been necessary for the plot, but still...And the 'DON'T CALL ME COWARD!!!!!' Would have loved to have heard that come out of Rickman.

Least believable scene to me was the whole Harry running after Bellatrix thing, Ginny following, and having some weird fight with Greyback. Was that in the book? I'm sure it was, but I just didn't like it really. Sure when they were running through the grasses it was kinda freaky because it was like, whoa, someone is going to pop out and get them. But the overall concept just wasn't executed correctly on film in my opinion.

Wow, loved every Draco scene. You really could feel his pain, and that crying scene....Sorry folks, but I've been looking forward to seeing that ever since I've read the book. It was perfect.

Yeah, I laughed when Dumbledore died...maybe it was that slow-mo falling scene. I dunno. But I felt more sad when I read the book.

Was it just me or did anyone else find the whole Harry/Snape confrontations to be hilariously awkward? I dunno, but every time an awkward scene happens I tend to laugh. Like at the part where Snape whips his cape around dramatically and he and Harry stare at each other on the staircase for like 20 friggin seconds. I had to cover my mouth to stop from laughing. No one else was laughing in my theater. Did this happen to anyone else?

OHHHH, and I friggin jumped and did a half scream when Snape came out of the shadows and was like SHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Omg! The other part that terrified me was the cursing Katie Bell thing. That was terrifyingly accurate as to how I imagined it and I got friggin chills. I jumped at the lake part with the Inferi when they crawled out of the water and grabbed onto Harry. OH and especially when that one was dragging him down to the bottom of the lake!!!! FREAKY!
HOLY SHIP why was this movie PG?! Seriously, this movie needs to be PG-13 for scary moments like THAT! I know if I were a 10 yr old watching this I would have nightmares for a very very long time. I think this movie was more terrifying that all the others...well 5 was pretty dark, but this one seemed to have more creepy/scary stuff.

Anyway, I've decided that I don't like Ginny and Harry together. Well, their actors anyway...I don't see the chemistry. And the scenes they were in were for the most part awkward. I like book Ginny and Harry, but have officially decided, that despite the somewhat cute scenes they had together (thank goodness for Ron being in most of them) ...that it was just..too weird for me.

My favorite part of the whole movie...well I'll have to think on it more, but I really liked the part where Harry replied 'SIR!!!!!' to Pro. Slughorn. It was just so hilarious.

I'm serious, people can't have a single conversation without bringing it up and then demand to know your opinon on when you will get married. Seriously, that is the farthest thing from my mind right now. I just wish people would stop bombarding me with it. Frustration.

One last rant: Do 5 year olds come on this site or something because people keep leaving really REALLY dumb comments. That's about to drive me insane as well.

To be honest my first impression is what the hell(talia)?!
Apparently, it's about a bunch a people who live in a world-war era (between the first world war and the second)
and 'The series often uses satire and comedy to address well-known and lesser-known historical facts.'
Ok,
Why do we need to learn these 'historical facts' from a comic book? And more importantly, why do have to use entertainment to become interested in this kind of stuff anyway?

..Well I guess it's better to learn about it from some source than none.

What I think is the most ridiculous aspect of this manga/anime is that the characters are named after the countries they've come from.
Germany is from Germany
England is from England
Japan is from Japan
Italy is from Italy
etc
etc
you get the picture,

Personally, I think that's a bit lame and the whole thought of this show/comic makes me upset.
But as I've said before, that's just my first impression of it, and I tend to be very hostile towards new shows/books I encounter. (just look what happened to Storm Hawks)
If you find any way to change my mind on this matter, kudos to you.

If you haven't noticed yet, i've posted some paintings today.

Oddly enough, I drew and painted ALL of these on Saturday evening. Earlier in the day I was quite frustrated that I couldn't just sit down and draw anything, but yeah, when 6 o'clock rolled around I grabbed my pen and everything just sort of flowed onto the canvas. Eeven more surprisingly, every piece turned out decent. I am so proud of the Finn picture I made-I never thought I could pull something off from that angle. But I guess I even surprise myself. I'm so happy, I hope you like these pics as much as I do. :3

My Best Friend (yusa)

is BACK from JAPAN! It was so great to see her again after 2 long months. It was fun to chat and catch up, and it was also very entertaining to listen to her hilarious stories about the experiences she had. She got a lot of amazing stuff over there- A 15" Sephiroth statue (which downright gorgeous) Engrish notebooks, manga, and tons and TONS of CDs. For a late birthday present she got me a beautiful fan with golden dragons on it, an engrish speak notebook ( I'm the Apple of Apple) a good luck charm, and a Final Fantasy VII CD.

Speaking of final fantasy, last night Yusa and I watched Advent Children Complete on Blu-Ray. IT WAS AMAZING! I was seriously going through convulsions because I was being attacked by it's awesomeness. All the detail, was just WHOA!!!!

New beautiful scenes (plus Zack flashbacks 8D)

And yeah, thank goodness they put more time in explaining what the heck was going on, plus everything just looked so real. You could see their friggin VEINS in their hands it was THAT GOOD! Reno was hilarious. ( love quinton Flynn) Everyone laughed when I jumped and screamed when Sephiroth's wing burst out of his back. It was lol.
Anyway, if you haven't seen it on Bu-Ray yet, you MUST see it! I feel like I can't watch my original version anymore...which is sad. But, maybe I'll buy the new one? Anyway, lol yeah I doodled this for my sister.

I just love it when Sephiroth says this line. "Shall I give you despair?" My dad scoffed, 'Who says that?!' When I was watching my original version once. Lol, Sephiroth does, daddy. Sephiroth does.

For me, I wanted more info/footage of the original Storm Hawks. Especially concerning Lightning Strike and young Dark Ace.

I typed into deviantart, livejournal, ff.net and google 'Storm Hawks Lightning Stirke' and "Original Storm Hawks" and there was pretty much nothing about them except some wiki information.

Lightning Strike is rolling over in his grave right now. (He demands a fanfic that develops his character *cough*)

I don't know about you, but I think the Original Storm Hawks need some love.

As result,

I would like to issue a challenge for the fandom-

In the next little while, I'm going to focus my creative energies on this theme- "THE ORIGINAL STORM HAWKS" more specifically "Lightning Strike and Young Dark Ace". Anyone who wants join me, wether it be through drawing, painting, writing, making vids, ETC. Is more than welcome to.
I mean, because doing it by yourself is not very fun. I find it enjoyable to see what other people's creations and interpretations are of the things we love.

So maybe, if anyone is interested, some of us can put together a contest for this?
Judging contributions in separate categories, give away prizes- like subscriptions, etc. You know, spice it up a little?
It's your call.
But personally, I would love to see what you can create using this theme. If you want to share, send a note my way

I don't think I've had that big of a grin plastered on my face and laughed so hard in a long time!
They sang some of my favorite songs of theirs -Star Wars, Psycho the Musical, SPAM, and Harry Potter.

But one of the guys preformed Starlight my most FAVORITE song sung by one of my most favorite bands-MUSE. That was more than epic, and he did it with a really cool looping thing.

After the show I bought their second CD and I got all their autographs. I made Weston (the short one) draw me a moose, lol. And when I got Tim's autograph I was sorely tempted to say 'Hey, you commented and liked my music video that I made using one of your songs on YT. Thanks so much!' *dies of embarrassment* Not only would that have sounded LAME but it would have been really awkward, so I chickened out and was thankful enough to just get his autograph instead. ahaha. (yeah, I swear over half of my Storm Hawks videos are Moosebutter songs. )

Anyway, the coolest thing about this is that I got to see some awesome people I haven't seen for years! It was totally amazing to see you guys! <3

What I want to address is that despite being polar opposites, having conflicting ideals and preferences-Adam and Kris have a REAL friendship!

That is what a TRUE FRIENDSHIP is.

I think this is something we can all look up to-despite differences we can STILL GET ALONG and learn to LOVE EACH OTHER!

Hey Storm Hawks Fans! Have you ever wondered where the name of Junko's species-WALLOP-comes from?
Well, I was pleased to discover (while reading the book Deception Point by Dan Brown) a place called 'Wallops Island'.
Located in Virginia, Wallops Island hosts a flight facility used to launch rockets and conduct exploration missions for NASA and other federal agencies.
Many of the names, people, and places in Storm Hawks relate to the theme of flight. Apparently, so does the terminology of the WALLOP species.

Nothing cures sadness like laughing. Thank goodness for listening to recordings of hilarious conversations you had with your best friend.

Adam Lambert sang a song from MUSE and I didn't even know it until NOW! The song is Feeling Good from Muse's first album Showbiz-That's the reason I didn't recognize it-I don't listen to it as must has their other releases. But my respect for Adam has gone up a couple of notches-he likes MUSE! Woot!

So the guy I have a crush on, well, I got to play volleyball with him, and in the rain. Yeah, best birthday present ever!

I used to hate birds (and for a really stupid reason too. But I won't get into that!) Winter is dead. Nothing is living. It sucks the happiness away from you. That is why I don't like it. Believe me, there is nothing more enjoyable than hearing the first whistle from a bird because it means spring is near. It is summer now. I still hear the birds singing. It is a beautiful sound. Living is good.

I have yet to figure out what gave me that allergic reaction but at least I'm not allergic to dairy products, wheat, or sugar-the staples of the American diet!

There is nothing more comforting than knowing that when you get home from a long day of work there is a bed waiting for you to flop upon. Oh! And thank goodness for pillows.

*phew* I don't think any of what I want to say will come out correctly, but oh well, it's gotta be said.

It officially hit me like a pile of bricks when I read a lj entry about Storm Hawks today.

Yeah, I feel it. Storm Hawks is sort of dying on me.

Ever since watching the finale, in fact...I think it officially started dying when I watched the origin's episode.

There is nothing more harrowing than losing interesting in a fandom.
But it's like chewing gum- it has a lot of flavor at first, but eventually, it is gone. You want more flavor, but you can't have it, and as a result, you will have to eventually spit it out. Nothing lasts forever.

I am not one who is satisfied with things being the SAME- STAGNANT- NEVER CHANGING in a show. I like PROGRESS-PLOT-CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
I CAN'T be satisfied, nor WILL I ever be satisfied with the way things ended in Storm Hawks-because in my opinion, there was a lack of PROGRESS-PLOT-CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Some people loved it-and never had an issue with anything that happened in the show. I admire that, but when some people try to force others into liking the way things happened, that's when it goes too far. Yes, this has happened to me, and I'm sure it's happened to others too-and that's why I never want to FORCE my ideals or love of something onto others. If I have, I apologize.

Sure, I'm a bit older than the average SH fan, and that MORE than likely has something to do with the way I'm feeling about this whole issue. But I really do like to THINK and theorize about what happens a show. That's why I love LOST so much. I get to THINK-use my BRAIN-while being entertained at the same time!
I love the developments and change of heart in a character. That's why I really got into SH in the first place because I thought Dark Ace would have a mega character development. But he didn't, so I couldn't help but be sorely disappointed in the end. Hey, that was just me and my crazy desires in what I wanted to see happen in the show.

Hence, Zuko will forever PWN everyone in my book.

Look, Storm Hawks will forever have a special place in my heart. To be honest, it has saved my life this last year because it was a LIVING HELL. But it's also special because I can watch and enjoy it with my sisters, laugh at it's silliness *the dark ace* and marvel over how close it is in resemblance to star wars. I'm not going to just stop faving SH fanworks or stop participating in the community *aka drawing/making vids for it* (Though I would love to make more Bloopers and stuff, but using the same footage from season 1 over and over again, is getting very boring and annoying. If I could get season 2 I would be very happy ) I really want to thank everyone who has stuck by my side, the friends I've made, and to those who have enjoyed my contribution to the fandom.
But I'm going to tone it down a few notches from here now.

Who knows,

Maybe it's time to pull out a new stick of gum.

(I even tripped once at work.)

My mom encouraged me to go take a walk with my sister and see if that would get some circulation going. It did, but my fingers are still a bit bluish...

-I breath really really shallowly
-I need to exercise more

Avatar the Last Airbender liveaction movie picture leaks.

My opinion.

It's different- Aang with the lack of a blue arrow and Zuko with no ponytail and different looking armor.

But I think I will like it.

I think they've modified the show into a more acceptable and visually appealing representation for a liveaction movie. Even though the animated series will forever remain awesome in my heart, I hope I will enjoy this movie when it comes out.

On a side note.
it rained today, and it was glorious.

I'm reading a fantabulous fanfic at the moment. It's called Equally Cursed and Equally Blessed by Mina on ff.net. It's a Luke Vader story, and even though I'm only about 140 pages in (there are like 450 pgs or something) It's simply amazing! I haven't read a good Star Wars fic like this in a long time!

Oh man I just love Star Wars.

Avatar the Last Airbender

1) I first heard about Avatar from my friend Mickey. She explained how awesome it was that this little bald kid whooshed around defeating the bad guys. I wasn't impressed. I thought it was another cartoon thingy that she had a fleeting obsession with. I didn't have contact with Avatar for a whole year until I saw my first episode while sitting in a hotel room in Indonesia. I was sick in bed with nothing to do while my father was off on business. So I did the most reasonable thing I could think of-I turned on the tv and skimmed through the channels to see what was on. I landed on Avatar, remembering Mickey had recommended it to me, and decided, what the heck! might as well watch and see what it was like. The episode was Bato of the Watertribe. I remember being rather confused and somewhat bored to be honest. But it was something to watch, so I managed to get through it all. I didn't think about it again until around christmas time while I was debating on what present to get my sisters. Around the same time, I had seen quite a bit of fanart on dA of Zuko, and I think that is what motivated me to end up buying the first season. I must have thought, well if all these people like it, why not give it another chance? I hid this desire to watch it by disguising it in the form of a christmas present!!! On christmas day my sisters and I watched half of the first season and finished the rest of it the next day. I was baffled by how good the show really was. The complexity of Zuko's character truly amazed me, and that was my main motivation to continue on watching the show! I then watched season 2 and was even more impressed by Zuko's transformation, and loved the animators for giving him so many different haircuts and outfits. I had NEVER ever seen that in a animated show like this before. I was so impressed! 3 season was utterly amazing and that officially made me a fan, and the rest is history.

2) The odd thing with fandoms I get into-I never officially leave them...they always have a special place in my heart for one reason or another-I may not draw fanart for them as much anymore, but I still love them. For example, I don't think I've drawn much Avatar stuff for almost a year now but I still love it!!! It totally depends on what I'm inspired to draw at the moment I guess.

3) The Blue Spirit has always been my favorite episode-it's got a taste of action and adventure as well as some character development for Zuko. The best part is that it's a pretext for Zuko and Aang's bonding!

Star Wars

1) I was that 12 year old kid who still hadn't seen starwars. Yeah, I got hammered for it. But I didn't care really. The extent of my Star Wars knowledge was that there were lots of space battles, the shows were quite old but newer prequels were coming out, and Vader was Luke's father. Eventually my parents figured that I ought to see the original trilogy at least once! We rented them + the phantom menace (that was the only prequel out at the time) I remember I was excited but as we started I got a little nervous. I asked my parents if I would get scared. (When I was younger, my cousins did show me the part where Vader gets his helmet taken off and that scared the living ship outta me!) They were kinda irritated at my scardycatness. They said I would be fine. We watched all the movies. I thought they were alright, but they weren't amazing in my opinion. I didn't think about Star Wars again until 2 years later. It was summer, I was bored and wanted to read something. I wandered around the library and happened to see the hardcovered version of the Star Wars Trilogy. Either this Monday or Wednesday I have the opportunity to go to my mother's school (grades 7-12 around ages 13-18 for those of you who don't know the american system) and show them how I do my art.

I am in no means an expert at what I do, but I've been asked to come and share my techniques and drawings to her classes and (the art/media classes) So...say if I happened to come your school to do a demonstration, what would you like to see from me? On a random note, last night was blast! I went kite flying at 11.30pm in a park. How epic is that?! My roommate told me that there were 3 things she really wanted to do-go get a slushie, fly a kite, and swing on a swingset. So lol, at around 11.30 at night we-she, our other roommate and I- went and did all of that! Lol, the best is when we got to the playground and tried to climb on all the stuff and we were all too big! hehehe. The seesaw was awesome but so very tiny. I wish I had gotten a picture! There was a great big hill where we went kite flying-my other roommate said she wanted to roll down the hill. Yeah, it was very dark and there were trees at the bottom. Our other roommate waited down at the bottom to see if there was going to be anything in the way. lol She told me that I had to roll down with her I said ok, but I was really too chicken, so I pretended to, and when she started going I got back up and ran down it instead! Hehe how naughty of me! I saw how slow she was going and I was like NO! You can't do it like that! You gotta go faster! So I got down and started tumbling too! But then I looked back up and realized that she was tumbling down faster too, and was almost about to roll over me! D888 So I got back up again and out of her way. It was hilarious, because she was laughing all the way down as she rolled. It just looked so funny!
Then I had ice cream at 1 am. It was epic to say the least.
I haven't had that much fun in a while. As the dark ace would say I ned MOOOOOOAR MOOOOOOOOAR!

More random updatey stuff.
My dad is a big Trekkie fan, and as some of you know, I made a trailer for it yesterday. I really wanted to show it to him and ask him what he thought about it, but he's in Thailand (aka on the other side of the world right now) so I had to wait until he got onto IM. When he did, I sent him the youtube link. He said he really liked it!

Then he told me that one of his friends over there wanted to see some of my other videos. Which ones should I show him/her?!?!?

Last night was my first night back at work. Yeah I say back because I worked there last summer and the summer before that. It's custodial stuff, but it's not that hard and you can take your time and relax. Every friday night we have a party and watch the office or a movie and eat food. yeah, it's pretty sweet. And what's even better is that my boss switched the times around-so we don't have to come into work as late as we used too! I found out I can get in some extra hours too! WHOOOOO! Oh yeah, it's not amazing but it's amazing enough for a summer job!

's journal entry. But it's so long and contains a majority of my thoughts on the LOST finale, that I will copy and paste it into this Journal entry.

I find it very sad that people give up on this show so easily. It's intense, has an interesting plotline, and actually makes you THINK! Love it. Now to share my thoughts about it.

WHOA.
So we finally get to meet him.
Jacob.
Jaaaaacoooob.
That caught me off guard. Not who I was expecting. I thought Jacob was maybe Jack stuck in time or something. Didn't really know for sure but wasnÂt expecting someone we didnÂt know already.
But Jacob was portrayed very interestingly...The man who was talking to him- Loopholes man-I'm going to call him-was rather interestingÂ I have a feeling they have a Widmore vs Ben sort of game going on but ten times bigger and everyone in this show are their pawns.

Loved this bit of dialogue:

"They come, fight, they destroy, they corrupt. It always ends the same." - Loophole man.

"It only ends once. Anything that happens before that, it's just progress." -Jacob

Do you think that ship was the 'Black RockÂ? Maybe Richard came to the island from there?????

Jacob came into contact with Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, Jack, Locke, and Hurley- all at significant times in their lives-or at least provided some influence on them somehow. I thought the Sawyer meeting was the most interesting. Jacob gave him the pen to write his hate letter to Mr. Sawyer!

I didn't really like Jack this season. It's hard to explain but he came across as a very annoying psychotic and sad man. I mean, I feel bad for him about what happened between him and Kate. He displayed that very well in this finale I think. I almost want to give him a hug. ItÂs almost too much for me to see him suffer. I don't like distraught Jack.

I liked Sawyer in this season for the most part. He was very very mature. It was nice to see for once. I love the "5 min" chat he had with Jack in the jungle. But then you know, what Sawyer can't solve in his head he does it with his fists! (so much for maturity!) The JackxSawyer fight...ooOOOo that was amazing and felt like it was harkening back to season 1

Kate. I don't know how I feel about her at the moment.
Juliet. I feel really really bad for her...I can't imagine experiencing that-having your man not over another woman. It would be agonizing! But to be honest I really don't like the SawyerxJuliet ship. Believe me I've tried to get into it, but I just can't...It was cute on some level, but there just seemed to be something missing. There was a theme repeated in here that went something along the lines of "We may love each other but that doesn't mean we are meant to be together" I feel like this ship was necessary for both of their sanity, happiness, and especially for Saywer's maturity. But I don't feel like they were MEANT to be. It was sad when Juliet fell down the hole and Sawyer was devastated, but I feel like it was meant to be that way. Haha, but then who would Saywer be with? Kate? But then that would take us back to the whole love triangle thing that we saw in the first 4 seasons. I don't particularly like Saywer and Kate TOGETHER but there is chemistry, there is no doubt about that. I like Jack and Kate but they seem to be following the 'love each other but not meant to be together' thing too... hmmm. So who gets with who and do they stay together?
I now must try segway into the Bernard Rose scene. When Sawyer & Kate demand to know why they have been out in the jungle and haven't let Sawyer 'help them' join Darmaville, their reply is that they are retired and want to stay there. The others begin to protest and tell them about Jack's plan with the bomb etc etc. Rose says something along the lines of "We traveled back 30 years in time, and you're still trying to find ways to shoot each other." Burn. But she has a point. Is it because everyone is so unsettled, so LOST that they do things like this? Killing and creating chaos? Probably. She says that nothing like that matters because she and Bernard are together and in love. They definitely have the most secure and strongest connection. They are pretty much the foundation of this show's relationships-the prime example of a good relationship.
