A few off my friends and I have decided to play through Final Fantasy 7 in one sitting without sleep.

I have gone deaf in one ear.My right one.Its only been two days and I already find it incredible how much I took being able to hear equally in all directions for granted.
Simple daily things like a group conversation or going to the movies or just talking to someone in a room with the t.v. on has become an absolute pain.Worst of all I can hear a ringing in the effected ear (and nothing else) and it feels like I have a headphone in that ear.And yes,I did check if that was the problem,theres no headphone.

Well,I'll be going to the doctor tomorrow to see if its permanent and to see if something can be done about it.I know what you're thinking - why haven't you gone yet!?
My answer is : I've been busy,heh.

In other (bad) news I just learned that the animation course in the college I'll be applying to has changed the deadline.SO...I now have to get my portfolio fully ready in 2 months instead of the 6 I thought I had.

Not good.

Its not like I can sit down and just make the portfolio.If that were the case I would have it done in no time.But I'm currently doing a FETAC portfolio course which is a huge deciding factor of getting into the college and while I'm making my portfolio in this course I also have projects and assignments piling up.I'm kept VERY busy.
Plus,I found out that there isn't an interview for my course like other Irish art courses.I just drop in my portfolio,and they mail it back as soon as its been reviewed...

Also not good.

I was depending on my shining personality to get me in.Heh.
But hey,none of this has gotten me down.I'm still my spiffy self.

Now...
Heres a 'To do' list of everything I have to get done.(for myself and the sympathy factor)
---
1.Twenty A1 sheets for portfolio showing observational skills and my knowledge of movement.

2.A 'visual diary' of around 100 pages.Showing observational skills and technique.The visual diary will be fish themed and will be full of fish art.

3.Another sketch book of around 100 pages showing nothing but movement studies of people and animals.

4.A minimum of two storyboards of animations I have made in order to,again,show my skill of studying movement and how to artistically direct such movement.Or something to that effect.

5.Finally,all assignments for the entire college year.I need to score a 85% in all my projects in order to get into the animation course.There are 12 classes (or modules) in the whole course including drawing,sculpture,painting,batik etc.


And then theres Christmas coming up,my first exhibition in two weeks and daily work.
And I still have the energy to make a piece for the hitote project here on dA.Should be up in a few days...emphasis on 'should'.
All I have to say is this : Is that the best you can do world?

Anyway,I officially graduated from high school last night.Hasn't really hit me yet.I spent five years in that school,good times,bad times,you know the drill.But I'm gonna miss some friends,I'm happy to get away from some 'students'.I'll miss some teachers and hope I never see some others again.

Its a weird mixed feeling...moving on,big changes.Bigger and brighter things.But what really triggered everything was a speech one of the students of our year gave.I might post it some time (or not,in fear of copyright infringement).

But,there you go.I'm considered a 'man' now...which is bull,heh.Better get back to work,damn Irish education system.

--The Elodea Project-- (working on the name)

Let me fill you in.The Elodea project was an idea I had a few days ago.Its a way to bring the DA community closer together and maybe kick off something big.

Ive seen some collaborations on the site and thats what gave me the idea...a mega community collaboration! With hundreds of deviants adding a bit to the mix.
Imagine a picture with a little bit added by hundreds of deviants,it would be incredible.Each deviant gets to add a character,symbol,figure,sentence,shape,colour or whatever he or she so chooses.If you have friends working on the project you could get your pieces of the project to connect or interact,for example...two characters shaking hands (just an example )

This is how it works...below you will notice a list.Everyone on the list can draw their part of the picture and send it to me via e-mail.Then it will get all edited together and the final piece will be sent back to everyone who took part.They can then put it in their gallery.
I will of course display everyone involved in the description of the finished picture and give links to their pages in the description.
This might or might not work so this first mega collab can be the test run.Ill limit it to maybe 100 people but if the demand grows I will increase the limit.

I dont think I will be able to organize this to run smoothly and So if anyone wants to help me...please do!
If not enough people are interested in this project then its gonna be shot down before it gets a chance to take off,with me in the pilots seat-the captain goes down with the ship (Im spouting more metaphors than Confuscious ) so if you want to invite friends along then feel free to do so!

A final thanks to those who havnt fallen asleep,a hug for those who show interest and a high-five for those who join the project...

I was sitting in class the other day,mindin my own business when my former Irish teacher comes in and says ''may I borrow...well...the whole class for about 5 minutes?''
We were in religion class (fuckin Irish education system) so it was no big deal.

So we head over to the demonstration room (it has seats like the cinema)and some students from my school and some girls from the our neighbouring school are holding a presentation.

They had started a small fund raising group called the M.D.G (cant remember what that stands for).They plan on ending world hunger and employing the unemployed,saving children all over the world,stuff like that (theres only 12 in the group - good luck!)

Anyway they had gotten in touch with the town council and they had permission to do a mural in the town...they asked the students to design a mural if they were interested.And the best three would be chosen and the designers would work together to make the mural.

Its been about a week since thrn and I had started a mural design of my own...I saw one of the M.D.G group members and showed him my 'Sorrow' picture which is of similar design.He tought it was great and it turns out mine was the only entry...so if no one else gives a mural design I get to do one on my own YAY and such...

When its done...which wont be until some time during the summer...Ill post some pics on my page here!
This is such a great oppurtunity for my portfolio and it'll get me established in the town as an artist (only one other mural has ever been allowed to be painted in the town,that was over20 years ago and its still there...it sucks but its still there)
