As you may have noticed, all the pictures in my gallery have gone.

This is a result of me closing my account here.

I have had a great time getting to know the other artists on dA and I am grateful to all those who have helped and commented on my artwork and I will miss the marvelous deviations that are posted here, but I no longer have the time to devote to this account and I feel it is unfair to stay and keep watching people that I don't have any time to comment on.

I shall continue to draw and learn about art and I may come back one day and share what I have learned with the other budding artists here, but until then I shall wish you all a fond goodbye and all the best.

All I can say is that Tiscali are a terrible service and anyone wishing to purchase internet from them should think twice! We had the internet for a total of 4 days in 4 months!

So that's one of the reasons why this account has been left to go stale for so long, I have been without the net!

I'm so sorry for those of you who I watch and watch me, I haven't abandoned anyone, I have just been really stranded!

Hopefully, once I have got myself sorted, there should be some new art coming your way, but to be honest, I have been so busy lately that I haven't had tiome to draw much.

I must get back to it!

Just a brief on where I am and what I am doing!

I am without my beloved computer and scanner at the moment, so this explains the lack of artwork from me recently! Chris and I are looking at houses and flats at the moment and will be taken up with our big move for a while and making sure we keep up to date with our website!

Once I'm settled I will have some more artwork to post up for critique and I have been practising, so there may be alot for you to view and comment on

I have a slight request......I know that there are a few Naruto fans out there, but are there any living in Romania that have a Naruto headband for sale? I only ask because I have a friend who would really like one but is finding it hard to get hold of one! If anyone can help, post here or pm and we will see if we can sort something out for her, ok? There is a good reason for this and that is that I am getting ready to move out from my parents house and move in with my boyfriend.

We have been lucky enough to secure jobs but they are both down south of where we are living at the moment, so we will have to re-locate! We have wanted the chance to set up home together for ages and now it is finally becoming a reality, so if I am not around much and don't comment much, I'm sorry but this is going to take up most of my time for a little while!

I had planned on having something a little special to celebrate hitting the big 1,000 but alas, I have been so preoccupied with what's going on in my 'real' life (non internet based existance) that it has been left unfinished.

I do have some sketches and other works planned out, but it will take me a few weeks to acutally finish anything ready to submit, so please be patient, I will be back with a vengence as soon as we are settled in our new place!

I'll keep you all posted if and when I have time to.

I don't think this person realises that they have done something wrong because they put that it was taken from someone elses website. The problem is that this version is being faved and commented on as the good trusting folk of dA don't haven't read the blurb that goes with the picture and have just seen a piece of art that they would like to fave. This is doing my friend out of page views, faves and comments that she rightly deserves.

I have suggested to the guilty party to take the artwork down and I have reported (as have a few other people) the violation to dA, but neither have worked.

So, this is where I want your opinion, what should be done now? I don't want to name and shame the person involved, as I really don't think they realise what they have done and that they think it is a flattering gesture, but it has really upset my friend and shouldn't still be there after a week of several people complaining to dA.

I don't want people to go and start a war with this person either, and I certainly don't want to start a war with dA, but I'm at a loss as to what to do to help my friend.

It also botheres me that most of the artwork my boyfriend and I submit here is registered with the UK copyright service, and if dA doesn't enforce it's breech of copyright policy, I'm afraid that most people will feel the need to take their art down

That's really all I have to say at the moment! Lanton studios has made it's move to Bath and we are busy keeping up with work and settling in but as soon as I can I will get drawing again as I have borrowed some amazing learn to draw books and I hope to start using them as soon as I have a spare moment!

I must admit to looking through my gallery and hating every picture I have done. I don't like my style, it just doesn't look right to me somehow. The line art I do seems too flat and when I come to shade it, I don't like the finished effect, it just doesn't look detailed enough for me.

I'm still not happy with chibi style as I think that the picture I am using for my ID has a very melon shaped head. Something which has annoyed me right from when I finished it.

I feel I have progressed though, I have started using shapes to start sketching out poses, and I feel that this gives me more scope with my drawing overall.

Hair is a real pain still, so are profiles and eyes. I also need a new way of shading as I'm not happy at all with the results.

Not a very positive journal is it?

I thank you all for your on going support it really does help and I have had some really kind comments and helpful suggestions with all my pictures and I really can't tell you how much that has meant to me, so thank you all!

I feel that I have progressed with the skin shading and I have been playing around with eyes and I think that they are coming along really well! I have done a few pictures that I can now look back on and I can see where I went wrong and how I can change them! (In particular, I hate the pic I did of Amechan, I'm thinking of changing that one as soon as I can).

I am not happy with the way I draw hair. No hair that I have ever seen grows the way I draw it and I think it is about time that I started researching just how hair falls and flows, perhaps do some experiments with head and shoulders shots purely to experiment with hair!

While I was away I tried my hand at photography and although I'm not happy with the results, I think that they could make great reference pictures for practicing backgrounds and viewing where light falls and so on!

So, my goals this month are to...

1. Review how I draw hair
2. Continue with some poses
3. Draw more men
4. Have a go at backgrounds

I feel I am slowly progressing and my recent drawing practice is forcing me to look at things more and more. Instead of just glancing and identifying something I am learning to recognise shapes and where light falls and how something looks as opposed to how I think it should look. I am still a loooooooooong way away from where I want to be, but even in this short time I can see some progress and I think that the more I stick at it, the easier I will find it. I think the old saying 'Rome wasn't built in a day' is relevant here!

So far I have only really messed around with hair, proportion and hands and although I think I am coming along well with these, I want to start experimenting with harder poses, camera angles and shading techniques as I think that some of my shading is off!

The proportion of the human body is something I have always found difficult to draw in the extreme and anyone who knows me well will tell of how I used to throw the pad and pencil in anger and end up crying out of sheer frustration at the fact that I could see these wonderful images in my mind but couldn't get them down on paper. I am pleased to say that I have stopped having the tamtrums now and as a result of actually looking rather than just seeing, I have been able to get my proportions much better than before.

Eyes. Eyes are a problem to me still and I had to mess and mess and mess before I got Nicks eyes how I wanted them! I think though that my style of shading is letting me down as well as the fact that I'm not too good with clothes.

So, my to do list then!

1. Practice drawing poses now that I am getting the hang of proportions!
2. EYES! Have a play around with eyes and don't be afraid to experiment with light and size!
3. Shading. Have a play with colour tones and see if I can get something a bit better than that which I have already!

I cannot draw. There, I have said it.

For years I have had this dream of producing my own artwork in an anime style. I have always wanted to draw, but always found it difficult. I have decided to teach myself to draw the way I want to, and that brings me to the purpose of my deviant art account.

I am going to upload each attempt (however crummy) to allow all you artists out there to give advanced critique of my work. I will also be keeping a journal of how I feel I am progressing, and any tips and tricks that I have used or found useful so that people who are in the same position as me can try them out.

So who am I? Well, I am 24 years old and I’m trying to set up an entertainment company with my boyfriend. We are animators and musicians who also produce comics and artwork (if you are interested, check out the website! [link]).

I’m also working to produce my own anime style film and you will see the development process of my main characters as I submit them here for your critique.

I’m not a sensitive or easily offended person and I believe that the way forward is to listen and learn, so obstructive criticism of my work is both welcomed and appreciated.
