The topic was pet hates or as I call them ‘irritations ’ within DA and the art /creative world.

My personal views on this matter is leaning towards people can do what they want. Don’t get me wrong I have my own irritations on DA and the art world is general... However I accept this are my personal views... and my views alone.
I bet many of you cannot guess what these annoyances are.
As I very much believe in the old age wisdom that has been passed down for generations, yet no one seems to take notice of anymore ‘if you can’t say anything nice, then you don’t say anything at all’. After all if I don’t like it I don’t have to view/read...!

Which brings me to the main topic of debate...

“If you got a commission based upon one of the things I dislike, would I take it?”

The answer is depending if it is something which I truly passionate believe against is, which would be of my mortal consistence passionate to draw/write or just my personal views on the matter.
There isn’t that much that falls into the category of what I mortal belief against, there are something I would never use my creative skills to do.
However the little irritations, yes I could. Mainly as I may not agree 100% with the creative process or vision but I can respect it. I can even find the inspiration within and if I push aside my ‘irritations’ I can enjoy and relate to.

This view has been branded as a “sell out!”
At the end of the day, everyone has to earn money... mostly doing this you hate, if you had a paying client and he wanted something you thought was horrible, would you turn him away? At the end of the day what your personal view would be won’t be the views of countless others.
Then a lot of people would be out of business on that principal alone!
I think that want makes a good designer/artist is being able to relate to clients on most levels.

I found over the years that my open minded view to others, I have learnt to appreciate the art/creative opinions I didn’t original agree with, giving me a border view/insight.
I am not asking people to have the same attitude as me, we are all different and that what makes us as a human race special.

Anyway... (Keep this nice... everyone is entitled to their own options, right or wrong... it’s the power of freedom of speech)

Well after Christmas Eve I won’t have a job (Christmas Eve is my last day) to be honest, I knew it was coming. I am still gutted it has happened.

Feeling quite stressed and a little depressed over things right now. We live on the bread line right now... I rarely have any money spare after all the bills... so to be without a job this time round would be a nightmare (This is the 3rd time in 3 years I will be out of the job due mainly to the climate)

I am applying for jobs like there are no tomorrow....

Tomorrow I have the wedding I have been looking forward to so much (my Cousin) Gutted I have to count the pennies/be careful with money (as we have to pay for a hotel for the night as quite far from where we live... and been booked ages)
Hope it goes well for them it is set in the beautiful castle.. A real fairy tale dream. They are a wonderful couple and I wish them all the happiness that I and my husband have found since being married.

Sorry for the moan... I know a lot of people are in the same boat right now.

All I can do is pray for a better tomorrow xXx

Cannot believe it, where is this year going?
It seems like it has only been two moments since June! Never mind October!

Can’t complain too much, it is my birthday this week and I love this time of year... and no! Not just for the fact it’s my Birthday (although I cannot deny that is one of the reasons)
I love Autumn / Fall,,, Around the time of my birthday the weather starts to turn cold.. This means I can get out all my winter clothes, the big oversized jumpers, furry socks and my gloves...
The colours changes to warm browns, gold and red, the feeling of walking though the leaves that crisp chomping under my feet... The wonderful sounds of the leaves rattling and seeing things fly though the air around me.
Also the excitement as thoughts start to turns towards Christmas... oh Halloween, Bonfire night....ohhhh bonfire night smells in the air at night.... *goes all dreamy*
I could list lots of reason why Autumn/Fall is my favourite season (spring is close second)

Commissions are open... In need of money, kind of living on the bread line at the moments... still have a lot of post-wedding bills. Also have a wedding at the end of October in this wonderful castle in Harrogate (just outside Leeds in the UK) I would like to get them a nice gift or put towards their honeymoon... which is proving a bit hard as I have spent up to my limit this month spending on food *sigh* never mind the financial recession more like financial depression.

To one of my best friends on this earth Chelle, She does have a DA account, but she rarely goes on and I have never seen her draw anything. She is more a lover of arts hehe

Wow, my feet are landing on earth after having the best time of my life. It also means I have to get serious now.

Time Line

I aim to complete commission within a two week turn around subject to information.
However please bear in mind, I work and I am also currently setting up a new business. I will state upon agreeing to do the commission if there is any problems in the timeline.
Most commissions to date, have been completed within a week of receiving the information.
Please note in your order if there is a deadline on the commission.

Payment method.

At the moment I accept PayPal (other payment method will be coming soon)
I will require a non-refundable deposit of 50% before starting the image. (Amount minus the paypal charges will be refunded if by reason I am unable to complete the image)


Terms & Conditions

1/ a non-refundable deposit is required. This is ensuring my time isn’t wasted. (I do not work for free)
2/ if for any reason I cannot carry out the commission I will refund the monies from the deposit minus the PayPal charges. If you had paid the full cost of the commission upfront, full refund minus the PayPal charges.
3/ you need to state how you wish to process with the commission (eg view in stages) failing to do this will result in just getting the final commission image.
4/ Changes to the drawing can only be made during the pencil or inked stages (only small changes can be made to final image) Remember you need to state in your order if you wish to view the pencil stages or inked.
5/ these commissions are for non-commercial use. For commercial use please note me or check out my website [link]

Also applying for some jobs as after Christmas I will be jobless. (Which isn’t brilliant) as we still have to pay off some of our wedding and the mortgage.

I know it seems like I rarely post on DA. But I don’t have much time to work on my own work at the moment  just commissions and a range for my portfolio. Also most of the commission I am getting are though people I know and are gifts for x-mas/birthdays.... Which means I cannot upload yet: P

I am debating offering cheap commissions for the Christmas period (or a special offer) I will also be offering personalized mugs (UK only) A design & Mug for the price of £15 + p&. It is an idea that has gone down a storm with some clients  so I thought I will offer to DA.

My art is improving again, as I trying different styles to boast my personal portfolio I find it is helping me in Anime/Manga style as well.

Sigh, I really need to sit down and design and code my CSS for DA. But I think I may wait on that as my sub is again running out and one of my web sites need renewal... Both never seem to last that long

October is a very busy month for me.... First I have my Uncles 60th Birthday... Then my Birthday (which I have asked for some anime DVD’s and a new dress) Then it is my cousins wedding at the end of the month.
(Reason I need a new dress). They are getting married in a lovely castle in Harrogate... I really cannot wait... although need a new dress, shoes, bag.... Not like I can wear the dress from the last wedding I went to... don’t think the bride will be to happy if I turned up in my wedding dress

Seems a lot of people I watch and chat to are visiting or already visited Cons. I am green with envy,,,, Don’t get me wrong there are some cons in the uk... Just very expensive and also won’t have anyone to go with... They also don’t have the same appeal that the others do.

I would love to make my own Cos play. After all I was training to be a fashion designer when at collage.... I just lost the passion for it back then. However time wise and costing it wouldn’t be possible yet, maybe one day

Oh reading back it seems like I am moaning a little, but that not really the case. As I am so happy and at a wonderful stage in my life...

Hi peeps.

In about an hour i am going to a relaxing week on the uk coast. I be staying in a caravan with my partner (nathan), Mother, Brother and 3 year nephrew.

I am planning to relax, Draw, some light study and walks along the beach.

No PC for a whole week.... i think i am addited to my pc.... so this break is more then needed... (stress of studing for a better job, Wedding Plans, Saving for the wedding, Money) so nice to get away from the worries...

Hi DA Friends.

Thank you kindly for all the words of support I got over the last few days.

From today I am not going to be that active on DA for a while. Due to the fact I started a home college course this week (Certified Internet Web Associate Foundations) to learn more about the tech side of the internet/web design

I am still maintaining my self study in CSS and Flash (also improving my Photoshop Skills)

On top of this I am looking for a new employment.

I wont take on any new Request (other then the ones I have already taken on/ or promised)

Happy New Year....

My big change was my job, i got made reduntant in May,,,, and started a new job at the end of summer....

Well......

Life is so busy for me at the moment,,, i barely have time to draw or play wow.

However i have a long weekend this weekend.. as its my Birthday on Monday, although i am little mad at the royal mail at the moment... as they are on postal stake today till tuesday... Which sadly mean no birthday cards on my birthday... which means i cant spend my money i normally get sent on my days off.... was looking forward to that...

And one of my main pressies is stuck in a postal office (it came special delivery when we was at work) and we found out cant pick up till wednesday... which is pooh.....

Anyway Working life is good, the people there are great.... just tiring getting back into the work patten.

I am learning websites at the moment.... ( i used dreamweaver last time ) and i want to be able to write one... i am on CSS so if anyone has any tip let me know?

Art wise... omg i have so much on.... ( i may have to post some lines, as lots of line work and little time to coloir) i really want to finish this wow commission i am working on... and enter two contest... one i have the line work finished... (biker chicks) and the other is a ice and fire theme... which sounds great.....

Well........ I have a new job that i am starting on monday which i am looking forward to.... feeling a little shy about it.
I got offered two jobs at once, i picked this one as the people was friendly and the job role was right up my street...
It a bit of a traval to get there... however 4 days of the week my mum uses the park and ride near there so she will be able to drop me off... there is only tuesday when i would have to get up really early to make sure i get there on time but i have a plan to study my webdesign books while on the tram. (so i can improve my website)

I have lots of artwork on the go... to much actually.... kinda stuck with which to colour and finish.... and there is a contest i wanna enter.... i am going though a creative patch at the moment... i keep dreaming up poses and idea... and i am working thou all my old characters.

Also i plan to release my first page (or first few pages) of my story before x-mas... just getting lay out ideas for it.

Also we just had a new kitchen fitted... my BF pride and joy lol... but we have to be so carefull with money now. i have to save for the wedding and to finish paying of a loan...
I also want to buy the Adobe creative upgrade so i can have Flash in the package.... i wanna start working on little animes....

Over all... live is good.... i am happy.... xXx

Hi Peeps.

Hope you are all well.

Just really to update you and to let you know i have fallen behind on my Dev viewing, as you guys are friends as soon as i get time to sit down and view & comment i will.... Promise

Now, Job hunt atm not going towell... and not for lack of trying, its all the jobs at the moment are requesting something i cannot do.... which makes me sad.... but i refuse to give up....

Second, I dont think i be giving you guys a lot of my work atm.... mainly to busy to actually colour... however i need to finish 4 drawings for people.

One of these is for my cousin who turns 18 next month... she is very special to me... she a sister and best friend rolled into one... therefore i am working on something that i am spending a lot of time on to make sure this is perfect for her... After all my nickname... Emmikins comes from her... i call her Neffy-san...

Today i reallized i am very close to 2000 hits... so i am working on a thank you pic... its looking quite good.
