This isn't something new, they've been at it for years, especially with the current gen. It seems like the game industry doesn't like attractive guys, they always ruin them by making the more "gritty" or... "realistic"? They certainly aren't worried about making the women more realistic.

I think it's because English is read left to right, so I like to leave the left side relatively sparse for the sake of some sort of build up (or anticipation?)

I guess my characters facing left makes them face into the movement of the viewer's eye, giving them more visual impact (in contrast to the left/right build-up thing... I think?) I think it was about two months ago I started playing through the entire series... My hankering for more metroid lead me to pick up Metroid II and give it another shot (having a map of it on my computer screen made it actually PLAYABLE this time). And upon finishing that I had a hankering for Metroid Fusion... and so I decided I should go for the whole series >_> The only ones I didn't play were Metroid Prime Pinball and the original, but those were the same as Metroid Prime and Metroid Zero Mission anyway
