But I have a new body now, a Canon 30D, and so far its been a ton of fun, Nightclub shoots mostly, although you wont be seeing any deviations for another month or so... Unless I cant muster up the effort to toss up something from my trip to england... not likely... I'm lazy.

Much news to report, but I'm feeling to lazy to do most of the actual reporting.
Lots of shoots these days 2-3 a week on average. Half and half btwn my own work and paid assignments, both are entertaining.

New models in abundance, everyone say hi to Nikki, Robin, the random girl from the bus, and the cows.


In other news, I'm doing the makeup for most of my shoots now, and getting better in my opinion. I'm also developing an addiction to MAC... a bad one. They do seem to give me a lot of free stuff though, sofar about $100 worth. Nothing near what I spend but im still gratefull... enternally.


I'll definately add more to this later kiddies. Now its off to bed.

So the alt fashion shoot went well... yeah it was a month ago but I couldnt be bothered to update. Pics are in my gallery. Much fun was had by all with the minor exception of me at one point early in the morning as I went to do the first light test... *snap* *crackle* and *pop* is something that belongs in a bowl, not a sound that should come from ones lights(especially when yoiu have 4 mosdels and a makeup artist waiting). Luckly there was a Henrys 15 min away and I droped the strobe off for repirs and exchanged my credit card for their floor model, hows that for service. The shoot went beautifully after that and we even got in some stuff I hadn't planned on.

After that it was back to 80 hour work weeks for a month until Colleens 19th last weekend, a great excuse to book 3 days off work. some definate good times, as the pictures will show.

After that we went drinking and clubing and I wouldnt have trusted my self with my baby so she stayed home. Saw a lot of old friends in hess, bar hopped, got pitas, bought traditional birthday shots, crashed on a floor somewhere... a good night.

Woke up the next day and decided to randomly stop by Kristinas house to see what she was up to/see if the pool was open. It was, I was overjoyed... perfect swim weather... icy cold pool.

We ended up going to toronto to shop... just because I was bored. I got some new makeup for my next shoots from Urban Decay(how I love their eyeliners *swoons*), got got a discount application for MAC since i'm technically a photographer, then bought kristina shoes... because they went with the bag she was getting. You cant get one Item if two match, its simply not right.

God i'm so glad that the spring/summer break is finally here, the break and all the things that come with it just makes me giddy inside.I'm back to actually working... and working far to much(but I have expenses planned, i'll go into more detail later), averaging 12 hour days 7 days a week. Next paycheck should be on the plus side of a grand.For those of you actaully interested I work on a horse farm, mostly backbreaking labour but it has its moments, working with the foals is always a pleasure, we've got three now and two more on the way.Thats really all the work related news I wanted to relate to you my deviantart relations.

Artistically the summer is always great, lots of time to think up new ideas, and money to bring them to life. I'm putting together a series for Alternative Fashion Week in Toronto ([link]). It's currently consuming all my free time, and I love it. Im drawing inpiration mostly from my own mind... I've actually been remembering dreams lately and theres some twisted shit in my head. The other more tangible source of my inspiration is the early(50's and 60's) work of Lillian Bassman, absolutely fucking fab. Dark, grainy, ultra high contrst.... but a bit too... I think classy is the word. My version will be less than child safe. Leather and plastic baby. It gives me shivers just thinking about it, and thats just one shot. I'm still looking for models, makeup artists, and anyone else interested in collaborating on this one.

I want to buy things for this project, I will buy things for this project... So many things. Fabric, prop's, makeup... Hopefully a new softbox if I can scrape together another $500. I'm not even going to think about what its going to cost for the printing and framing. Ok. I thought about it, many times. It's close to a grand, but i'm working on some deals that might chop that in half. Thats it for money news.

Now for the random shit... hmmmm, ya know what? For the first time in my blog history I don't think I have anything random to add.

Update:
Broke my 50mm f/1.8 this morning, guess I just have to be happy that my 300D survived. When the camera dropped the lens hit a desk and sheared the front element right off, and the guts of the lens ended up all over my bedroom floor. One hour and some delicate epoxy work later... err01. Shit. Shes dead.
Ran out to henrys and bought a new one as mine was outside of the warranty covereage by 3 months.
Looks like i'll have to be more carefull in the future.

Hittin the last leg of the school year now, work is starting to build up, exams are looming on the horizon, and my photoshop backlog is actually scary right now. Good times.

Things have actually been in flux as of late... High's and lows like you wouldn't believe, I seem to have gotten over my lil' artistic block and my new stuff was well recieved, more different shit to come. If I can find the time. Fuck. Couple more shoots are being crammed into the end of the year, I'll to be going in a new direction with these ones. Thats all I can say. Its a secret.

Gotten back into the sketching again. Finally. Lot's of flowing elements, drawings with distance, concept sketches. Fun stuff just for me. I might post one or two if asked real nice.

Hmmmm, what else... New model who's tons of fun, scarily creative, intense... I'm looking forward to the next shoot and/or party. Yeah, thats you Vic. Pressure is on.

Saw an awesome show last night, if you're in the Hamilton area(and even if you're not) you should definately check out ablockparentcommunity. Thx to Sarah for lettin me know about that one. Some intense visual projections, and the music just added to it.

Well I think i'm off to grab my second coffee of the day, mby get some work done... mby. Fuck. Its not happening anytime soon.

Its looking like that time again fellow deviants, thats right i'm going to update my journal again... might even start doing this regularly soon. Those of you who watch me, or just stop in more than occasionally know I only update when I have something to share... or when i'm just really bored so whats the news for t'day you ask? Well I'll be getting right to that.

First off life in general has been busy and hectic, good times with friends and family, partys and the things that go on there, met some crazy new ppl ect... far to many details to go into there. School has also been good, other than those prof's who seem to be able to suck all the life and joy out of an afternoon. They of course are balanced out by those who make it interesting and exciting... why arent there more of you? *sobs* On the other school related note I might be getting a little break soon... that is if this strike we've been hearing about happens, a week off I wouldn't mind but any more than that and i'll be rather pissed as I dont look forward to either losing a semester or part of my summer.

But hey lets get on to the real news I wanted to share... the good exciting stuff! I've been asked to do a shoot for SG [link] (nudity warning kiddies) which I think is god damn awesome. Totally pumped for that... and all the other shoots going on this month. Not quite so pumped about all the catchng up I have to do with post work, but thats what happens when one overbooks.

So I've get me new lighting, and it is god. Mby not the best (not even close) but it does what I want it to... most of the time. Its opened this whole other world to me, i'm like a kid in a candy store... except i'm 20... and my candy has no taste, or mass for that matter. Anyways i'm going to be playing with the new system for the next few weeks and damn its going to be fun fun fun. Yeah i've had a few cokes. What are you gonna do about it? huh... Punk!... thats right run. Run. RUN. Muahahahahah *chuckle* Heh.

On a related note I'd like to give a big shout out to my newest model Sarah. Quite the creative force she is, its almost scary. Had a lot of fun today, and the experience will hopefully be repeated next week at our second shoot. I was glad to finally meet her today, she made quite the online impression but the real thing takes it up a notch... or five

Looks like I'm long past due on a journal update but thats the way it always ends up, mostly because I'm a lazy mofo... just kidding, I do try to update often but I usually have to wait for some exciting event to give me a reason. This time that ever so eventfull event was a rather crazy saturday night; the 19th I believe, went to a party down near McMaster with a couple friends and ended up walking back to Mohawk at 4:30am. Stopped by the 24hr McDonalds at 5 for breakfast, Hijacking a random car to get us through the drive-thru and then proceeded to continue our 2.5 hour walk back. Now i've got you asking whats so exciteing about this?. Well near the end of out trek we had to walk along Queen street up the mountain... heres where it gets interesting, we decide after making it halfway up that climbing the escarpment would be a shortcut. The first 500ft wasnt bad since it was only a 45 degree incline, the next 200ft jacked it up to 60 degrees, and the final 20ft was straight vertical. You cannot belive the adrenaline rush you get cresting the escarpment at 6:30am... better than anything else, ok not better than sex but still preety damn nifty. So we sat outside after a night of partying and watched the sun come up... something I hadn't seen in about 2 months... It had to be the perfect end to an awesome night.

Artistically my life has been in a bit of a rut, everything I do looks like crap and I haven't submitted anything in a month. Does look like i'll be getting a 420ex as payment for a debt, and i'll definately enjoy playing with that... Ideas are already bouncing around in me noggin like toddlers hopped up on pixy-stix. I have started drawing again, and though it's taking some time to get back into it I've rekindeled my love of vine charcoal and figure drawings... mby i'll post a few for you folks.

The christmas break is coming up fast and with it comes finals, not looking forward to that or the agony of shopping for the perfect gift. It will however be nice to see the family again for a few weeks, and the old Dundas gang is meeting for a christmas party on the 17th... should be good times with lots of stories from all those who moved off to school this year, as well as all those ppl I havent seen in over a year for various reasons(you know who you are). Lets all get reasdy for a rip-roaring christmas of fantastical fun.

Went to my first DevMeet today, met some very cool ppl ...and others with rage issues . Lets see If I can remember who was there without looking at the pictures. First off there's the man responsible for todays madness, ^superkev, then we had `sodalicious with her amazing bottomless purse of bottomlessness, obviously can't forget ~dayuse-yuipeter who was highly entertaining with the running, and the tape, and the sign's... (pictures at the end of this journal). =thegnat was present and taking video's which should be highly entertaining, `dottiemaggie was there to tell us why one should not mix wine and tequila. Also met ~Dark-Renaissance and his sister =dark-magician-nikoru, and ^hesitation who started a series of pie orders... must resist the pie!!

So how did it all go down? Well I met up with ^superkev, `sodalicious, and =thegnat by the big fountain in Gore Park(two blocks from my hotel ), chatteed for a bit waiting for others to arrive, first to arrive after me was ~dayuse-yuipeter followed closely by ^hesitation and `dottiemaggie. After introductions and a bit of waiting around we went to Infusions across the street to have coffee(and pie) while waiting for anyone else who was showing up. ~Dark-Renaissance and =dark-magician-nikoru showed up soon after and we saw someone who we thought was =neo-the-foxycoon, turned out that it wasnt after superkev shouted "foxycoon" at him and recieved a rather surprised look. This was about the time when dayuse-yuipeter decided to run around the park with the DevMeet sign screaming random things ...just to make sure we had all the deviants in the area. Ate, drank, and engaged in random tomfoolery for an hour or so then headed off to the Art Gallery of Hamilton(aftre paying the $55 bill with mass amounts of change). Hit up the gift shop first where I purchased a stainless steel keychain engraved with the word "mistress", and dayuse-yuipeter bought some form of die that would help him with life decisions. Wandered through a few exhibits on the first(read free) floor followed closely by a security guard since noone wanted to leave their camera's in a locker. More tomfoolery ensued when a childerens activity room was discovered, great amusement was found in crayons, shaped blocks, those slidy puzzle things, and star shaped stickers. It was around 4:30 at this point and people had places to be so we walked back to Gore Park and said our goodbyes, and I believe it was dayuse-yuipeter/sodalicious who initiated a round of hugs.

All in all it was a highly enjoyable experience and I'll definately be on the lookout for devmeets in the area in the future. Now for the part everyone has been waiting for:

So i'm at school now, took the bus down on monday...I know I haven't been keeping up with da ( 94D, 3H, 2C, 27J, 4P, 2N )...and all I brought with me was my clothes and camera, the rest of my stuff including my porfolios, computer, printer, and other junk is coming down on tuesday. Moved into the hotel, met my roomate(hes pretty cool... by that I mean I dont think i'll kill him anytime soon), and all the other ppl staying at the Ramada for the next 2-3 weeks. Definately some cool ppl here.

Wednsday night was the toga party at the Arnie(campus pub) and since I live in the downtown I hoped on a bus to res with some sheets and a couple bottles, knocked on some random doors until I found a place to get changed/leave my clothes and preparty. Lots of cool ppl at the res, and the names I can remeber are Matty(big guy, quite loud), Mark(Has a band, might be shooting him), Dori(blonde, smiles alot), Jill(has an insane amount of energy... its actually scary), Erin, Margo(poured a beer on me because I didnt have class the next day until 1:30), Dori's roomate(whom I going to say *might* have been Courtney... but i'm really not all that sure). I got a lot of shots that night, and the nights before and after, but until I get my computer up here I can't get to them.

Well after the toga bit I had eary class for friday so thursday night was just chilling in the lounge with some of the guys from Ramada-Res, but I more than made up for it on friday. Bedouin Soundclash was playing a free show in Hess Village, so Matt, Andrew, and I (pics to come later) headed down around 9:30 and it was already packed and the craziest i've ever seen it. We hit up the Ivory's first for a round but there were no tables so we finished up quickly and headed over to the Gown and Gavel(by far my fav place to drink), While Andrew and Matt went in to grab some drinks I started talking with one of the bouncers, and managed to not only get a table but the possibility of a job as well, he's interested in hiring me to shoot a show his band is playing in the near future. After a few rounds at the G&G we decided that Matt was now drunk enough to attempt the "drunken whiteman dance", and headed over to the Elixer(a decent dance club with a $5 cover) for some fun. Met 5 or 6 nice girls, matt hit on all of them. Two of them I semi-recognized from highschool, and them semi-recognized me... its always hilarious when that happens you glance at them and think 'now I know those ppl... but from where' and you get the same look back(this can go on for an extended amount of time if one feels like making it). So I when over and introduced myself and asked if they had ever gone to my highschool, and guess what the had. Chatted for a few minutes about how horrible dundas is, then matt came over... they left.

After this(1:45) we decided it was time to head back and chill at the hotel/see if Jana, Natasha or anyone else still hanging at the hotel felt like doing anything... got back and Jana was alone in the hotel, apparently she didnt know where Hess was and everyone else had just left. So we headed off for another round at the Ivory's was decent except for the fact that the staff were practically snatching our glasses before we finished, and if you got up to use the washroom your chair would be stacked in a pile when you got back. Ended the night at quarter to three and decided on swiming in the morning, which is where I just came from.

Were planning on hitting the Res tonight or tmrw to see whats happening, but first I have a research paper to start, and a lesson to teach myself before doing a lab since the room they put us in had no computers. Prof just said to download the lesson and learn it for mondays lab, hopefully we'll have computers then.

Well i've gone on long enough, i'm gonna go hit the books/have lunch and then mby a little power napping before tonight.

Well its now 13 days until im off for school... totally unprepared, scrambling to get things done... the usual. Should be fun though, I'll be doing photography at a small art college in my spare time (In the words of my grandmother "when you're not at real school"), and i'll find out if I really want to do network admin for the rest of my life or chance it with photography.

The photography part of my life has been going well lately, i'm actually getting work... small stuff but its still work. I shot a dressage CDI earlier this month for a sponsor/supplier, and it was fun excepting the processing end of the job... 800+ shots with constantly changing lighting conditions meant several hours in Bridge and CS2. The other photographers there had some sweet equipment(and cute assistants) 1D mkII's were in abundance, as were 20D's and L glass. Most of them were nice except this one balding middleaged asshole named Warren... just wanted to kill him after the third time he told me I couldnt sell the pictures... 'Earth to Warren' I'm working for an event sponsor, not to mention I've known most of the top level riders who were there for years. Anyways the event didnt pay much buts its more about getting my name published than anything else. In other work related news i'm going to be published in the Canadian Hannoverian Newsletter, I'm doing the pictures of this years Grand Champion Foal for ontario. Once again little money but my name is in print.

The rest of my life is pretty hectic right now, i'm packing all my crap for school... which involves more throwing out than packing, i'm even getting rid of my beloved fashion mags(3 years worth), but im cutting out my favorite ad's/pics and saving then in my "random insparation book", formerly a sketchbook it is now filled with pictures sketches and other half finished photo concepts... its basicly where I put my ideas and go for insparation during those dry spells.

Ok i'm gonna cut this short since I need to be up early tmrw... I'll add more later.
No more internet till friday so If I dont reply to something....its your fault not mine.




OK, heres the more i'm adding later, or now depending on how you view the world.

I've been working nonstop for the past week, and it seems that i've caught up on everything, except sleep of course. Got everything boxed for moving to school on monday... got a call this morning, res flooded so i'll be living in a hotel while I go to school(I even get a food/inconvenience allowence from the school, $396.69 a week Woot!), and you all know what that means... 20D here I come... or lights, or lenses...? Choices choices choices, life is so hard

I havent picked up my camera in days(and its killing me), but every night before I crash and fall asleep I jot down all those wonderfull ideas that kept me going through the day... sometimes i'm transfering tham off napkins, its going to be so...orgasmic...once I get to actually shooting these concepts. That is if they turn out the way I want them to. The first one I want to get to involves saran warp (and lots of it), black or blue velvet, and a model with lots of patience.
Anyways I think i'm going to need a new book(or two) soon since my current concept book is 90% full.

Well i'm off to bed now since I have to be up at 6am tmrw (today actually) for something involving shoulder length gloves, sperm, and lots of lube... sound exciting? It's not... just an average day when you work with horses. One a semi-related side note, has anyone ever had the pleasure of seeing the expression on a clerks face when you drop a pack of shoulder length sterile gloves, 5 tubes of life brand personal lubricant, 4 enema's, and some mints on the counter?
Try it sometime, priceless... its even better when you ask if they have "those big jugs of lube"

Where to start....quite a bit has happend since my last journal(as always seems to be the case... before I manage to update), got that May photoshoot with the CEMS...in early june, but 'm lazy like that. I liked how it turned out but would have like to do more individual work, and a bit at the beach (later this summer jazz? I'll call sometime.).....but next time around i'll have my new baby (85mm f/1.8 USM, 136mm equiv on my 300d) so we might toss in some portrait work no?

This is all happening of course only if I'm walking before the summer is over, managed to tear my MCL(one of four ligaments in the knee) a week ago, decently painfull experience 4-6 weeks(average) before im walking semi-normally and a year until it heals as best it can(50-70% of the original mobility after one year is expected). It really was a stupid thing to do on my part, I mean it was a completely normal day, we had just finished bringing in 400 bales of hay(nothing compared to the usual) I stepped of the last tier and my foot slid outward on the plywood floor (hot muscles=loose muscles) and couldnt support the joint enough to stop it. So i hyper-extended and tore a ligament....spent the next five minutes trying to concentrate on what the floor felt like against my cheek....its a great technique, concentrate on the details of something exclusively to block the pain! Anyways went in to the doctor, thankfully mine is a 'sports med' guy, he told me right away what was wrong(grade two MCL tear) what not to do(walk more than nessicary, bend, or straighten), and booked me for an MRI since the swelling and pain indicated cartilage damage which would require surgery.....I'll find out in a week or two.
Ain't life a bitch?

I have however discoved that injuries are great for catching up on things you put off because you were "too busy'. Right now i'm starting to learn some php, as well a brushing up on html and perl......vb.net is in the bag so fuck it, and ASP is for when i fall off a roof and am paralized! I even found time to reformat my computer and shes running like a dream again....everything optimized and orgasmic I've also had a lot of time to catch up on my reading(ok for me that means start new books, that ive listed from interesting reviews, and reread the classics), as of right now im rereading Ondaatje's 'In the Skin of a Lion', Findleys 'Pilgrim' and 'The wars', and i've started '100 Strokes of the Brush Before Bed' by Melissa P. which I have to say is amazing, thought provoking and saddening, erotic and disturbing....havent picked up anything like it Since 'The Fountainhead'. Now im not saying that it is in the same class as the works of Ayn Rand but it is amazing for something written by a 16 year old, quite a pleasent surprise. I hear shes written something else since, and i'm hopeing this one wasnt a fluke as i'll end up buying it based on my opinion of her first....as soon as it's translated, I'm also hopeing they dont slap an 'R' on the next one as well....since it seems to have curbed the north american distirbution(must be 18 to buy it), and its something most teens could do with reading.

Seems i've spewed enough for one night, I think i'll go play around with journal headers etc... since I now have Flash, Fireworks, Freehand, etc...

On a more +ve note I now have an excuse to drop 3k on a laptop, and mby a new pair of socks. Will also be doing another shoot with my "cost effective model squad" in May when it actually is warm.....downtown toronto?...the beach? either way its good fun.

As mentioned in my previous journal I added some new hdd's to my computer, and omg you cant imagine the difference 3 scratch disks makes, PS has never run so well *hugs computer*.

After this little mishap i made a trip to future-ma-shop and upgraded my memory and am now enjoying this bliss on 380 pics per shoot. And now that ive mentioned futureshop im going to have to go on a rant about how they gouge the hell out of you...........bastards, hate them so much but i wasnt up for a trip to cc and they were the only ones nearby who carried smartmedia cards, anyways they really piss me off right now, the had this wonderful looking sale on some decent mobo's advertised on the boxes that the boards were athalon xp boards w/ support for ddr ram, well they got it half right but the boards dont support ddr, just regular old crappy outdated overpriced sd.....bleh im done. back onto my journal entry-ish-ness........worked 43hrs this week damn close to overtime, but mby next week. holy crap this is getting long and its now 5:23am......right back to topic.......work, its not as bad job, boss was on vacation for a week brian ran the store. well sortof...left me with the damn food order, and guess what, I fooked up......ordered nuff chicken kickers for the next three months, but they go bad in one .......or less mby, not really sure. rest of the order was ok tho..............crap totaly forgot about the toga party, now that was decent fun, went with the black toga....brian did ninja turtles, lots of shots...some body shots.......there were more body shots @ the party with fr34k but hey, toga fun was still abundant...don't know how u lasted reading thru this much already but if you want to feel free to continue......anyways toga party lasted till around 6am last thing i really remember is some girl named lindsey deepthroating a spoon, and when i woke uo the next morning she flashed me and said she had salty....(well ppl did a lot of shots off her so u guess), anyways its a great way to wake up, and i strongly recomend it

Well i stared smoking again a couple days ago, really not a great thing but it keeps me level..........quit almost two years ago i think. been workin a lot.....good fun there [/end sarcasm]. Also been spending money i should be saving......but the 20gig iPod was so shiny......and I really did need the watercooling for my computer.....heh, next ill actually go out and buy windows

Im hoping this smoking shit is just a phase type thing, but its so good.
