I received a couple of presents, including lots of money. XD

I also got a French Canadian comic book written by a famous French Canadian TV writer named Claude Meunier (Wait... Why do I even bother mentionning his name when all of you doesn't even know who the heck this guy is? I don't know...).

I also received some tickets for the show of a French Canadian stand-up comic named... Ah! Who cares? You never heard of him as well. Anyway, I'm glad I received all these presents.

I have to admit I was surprised to see that, but not completely. When I was a young child and learned that Warner Bros. owned DC since many years, I was like “What? The company who created the Looney Tunes also owned the company behind Superman and Batman? Hey! Maybe Disney should do the same with Marvel too! That would be awesome!”

… I never thought it would actually happen. Anyway, over the years, I noticed there was some connections between Disney and Marvel.

-Buena Vista Home Entertainment recently releashed the X-Men 90’s animated series on DVD.

-I once read a Mickey Mouse comics story from a French comics magazine known as “Le Journal de Mickey” (which means “Mickey’s Newspaper” or something like that). The story was about Mickey being bitten by a genetically-modified spider and gradually transforming into a creature that was half-mouse, half-spider. Of course, at the end of the story, he was back to his normal appearance. And you know what was the title of that comics story? That’s right: “Spider-Mouse”.

-In 2007, Stan Lee signed a deal with Disney and his company POW! Entertainment.

When I heard the news, I was quite surprised. But after thinking about it, I think we should just wait and see what’s gonna happen. I mean, if Warner Bros. was able to do great adaptations based on DC characters (if we don’t count movies like Batman & Robin, Steel, Catwoman, Superman IV, etc.), I think Disney can do the same thing as well. Yes, I know, Disney is more for families than WB. But hey, Disney also owned companies like Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films, who are doing more mature films. Also, it’s gonna give more publicity for Marvel. And with all the garbage Disney is doing with HSM, Hannah Montana, etc., it’s about time they do something a little bit better. About those who are afraid Disney will make the characters more kid-friendly, I don’t think they would go THAT far.

The fact Disney is gonna work with Marvel actually inspired me an idea for a fanfiction. I’m thinking about doing a collection of one-shots, where Marvel characters will meet Disney characters. Don’t worry. The Marvel characters ain’t gonna be kid-friendly and the Disney characters won’t swear. I will make sure the characters ain’t gonna be OOC. I have some ideas in mind for these one-shots, such as Mickey appearing with Spidey, Stitch meeting Wolverine, J. Jonah Jameson having a talk with Scrooge McDuck, etc. If you have any suggestions for one-shots featuring Disney and Marvel characters, just let me know.

In other news, Télétoon Rétro is broadcasting five new shows this autumn. For those who don’t know what is Télétoon Rétro, I talked about it in a previous journal entry: [link] Many months ago, they started broadcasting an obscure anime show from the 70’s that is mostly known to the French Canadians: Le Petit Castor (The Little Beaver in French). Now, starting with this month, they are broadcasting five other shows. And they are all coming from Hanna-Barbera. All of these five shows, I remembered watching them when I was younger. There’s Quick Draw McGraw, Wally Gator, Huckleberry Hound, Touché Turtle and, of course, probably the most famous HB cartoon here in Quebec: The Flintstones! I love the Flintstones! Along with Scooby-Doo, it’s my favorite HB show. The theme song, the characters, the background (that keep repeating itself), the music, the catchphrases (Yabba-Dabba-Doo!), the laugh track… It was such a great show. Probably the greatest show that had an influence on “The Simpsons”.

I heard there will be a TMNT crossover special, where the 2003’s characters will meet the 1987’s characters. For some reasons, the 1987’s characters aren’t voiced by the same people who did their voice in the original series. There’s Dan Green who is doing the voice of Leonardo, but it isn’t close enough to Cam Clarke’s performance. Also, the guy who does the voice of Raphael sounds a lot like Rob Paulsen, but it’s not the real Rob Paulsen. That’s good. Anyway, I’m curious to see that special. It’s been a while since we saw Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang. I miss these baddies. There will also be a new game for the Wii called “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up”. On other news, I recently bought the second volume of Tiny Toon Adventures on DVD. I enjoyed the first one so much (TTA was one of my most favorite shows when I was younger), I couldn’t resist buying this one. I haven’t watch it yet, but I hope to see the third volume soon, probably next year.

I almost finish The Cartoon Susbpace Emissary. There will be about five chapters to write and I will be done with it. I have a good bunch of ideas I wanna use in these chapters and I’m eager to use them. Meanwhile, I also started writing the next chapter of The Smasher King. I abandon it for a while due to a lose of interest, but now I’m ready to do another chapter.

It’s been a while, but I heard there will be a fifth Ninja Turtles movie, this time in live-action. I heard it will be about the turtles’ origin. While I’m not against another Ninja Turtles movie, I have to say the idea for plot sounds kinda lame. I mean, didn’t they already showed how Splinter and the turtles became mutants in a flashback during the first movie? Anyway, I hope the final product will be better than this basic plot. -There’s gonna a TMNT fighting game for Holiday 2009. I’m looking forward to this one, since some people who worked on SSB Brawl are working on this one, and Peter Laird (one of the co-creators of the TMNT series) worked on the story mode.

-They showed some pictures and a video of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. I didn’t play the first one yet, but this sequel looks good, especially with Donkey Kong and Metal Sonic.

-New Super Mario Bros. Wii: I LOVED the NSMB game on DS. This one will be on the Wii… with co-op! That’s something I wanted to see in the DS game. Coming for Holiday 2009.

-Another DsiWare game: Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini’s March Again! is the title of this game. The third game of the M vs. DK series, I’m gonna wait to see more screenshots of this game before saying my opinion.

-A racing game from Sega, here’s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. This looks like a fun game. Let’s hope it’s gonna be better than Sonic Riders, Sonic Drift and Sonic R.

-The third Mario & Luigi game has officialy an English title. It’s Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. Yeah... the title could have been better. Anyway, I own the first one, not yet the second one. This third game looks good to me.

-Metroid: Other M. The next Metroid game. Honestly, I never played any of the Metroid games before, but this one looks interesting.

-And now, I’m keeping the best for the end. ANOTHER Mario game will be published on the Wii. It’s… Super Mario Galaxy 2! OMG! I loved the first one, and there’s gonna be a sequel! I’m more eager to see this one than the first one. Why? Here’s why:

Essteka (Author; voiced by ???) - An eighteen years old boy with black hair and who is wearing a blue shirt, white pants and grey shoes. He is something between Ace Ventura and Daffy Duck. When he see the chance to have more money, he would do anything to have it, but in a reasonable way, unlike Daffy. When the situation is bad, he knows how to be cool. But when the situation is REALLY bad, don’t be surprised to see him panicking. Essteka comes from Quebec, but he can easily talk without accent. He enjoys the simple things in life. But he can be very annoyed by something very annoying. He mostly likes the 90’s cartoons and some other classics, but he also likes some cartoons from the 2000’s. He does like watching animes, but only a very few of them. And of course, Essteka enjoys video games, mostly the Nintendo games, but specifically the Mario games and the Sonic games (Yeah, I know he’s not Nintendo.). He likes making people laughing when he finds a good joke at the appropriate time and he likes anything that is hilarious. My character also like to do stupid things like what Ace Ventura does. He’s not a genius, but he’s not dumb either. Something between the two. Oh! And he also likes to break the fourth wall and he likes to do sarcastic comments at the appropriate time, not all the time. He fights with a mystical sword he found near Montreal (even though this guy is originally coming from Drummondville, another city in Quebec). But that sword isn’t really a mystical one since it doesn’t have any powers. It’s more like an ancient sword than a mystical one, but Essteka likes to call it a mystical sword because, well, he thought it would be cool. How that sword was able to be in Montreal when he found it, nobody knows, not even him. Essteka may not be as good with fighting with a sword as Leonardo, but he ain’t like Daffy with a staff, like in Robin Hood Daffy, either.
Limit Break:

Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes; Co-Captain; voiced by Billy West) – The leader of the Looney Tunes gang, Bugs is here to have some fun. With his classic toon abilities and his wits, this rascally rabbit is a great fighter for this team.
Limit Break: Super-Carrots; All he needs is eating one of these carrots, and he will use Superman’s powers for a limited time.

Daffy Duck (Looney Tunes; voiced by Joe Alaskey) – He’s the greedy duck of the team. Daffy would do anything to win more money for his own greed. That’s why he’s here. And he also want to prove to everyone that he’s a better duck than Donald.
Limit Break: Stupor Duck’s Transformation; To be honest, he’s ashamed to have the same thing as Bugs. But hey, at least he gets an effective Limit Break.

Porky Pig (Looney Tunes; voiced by Bob Bergen) – A sidekick to Daffy, Porky is the perfect straght guy to any screwball character. Plus, he can also do slapstick humor, just like any other Looney Tune.
Limit Break: Muscular Pig; Porky can transform himself into a muscular pig for a limited time. (It happened once in a Duck Dodgers episode.)

Aladdin (Aladdin; voiced by Scott Weinger) – The legendary street rat from Agrabah. He was able to defeat many villains, such as Jafar, Abis Mal, Mozenrath, Mechanikles, Mirage and so on and so forth. With his agility and his clever mind, Al is one adversary to not underestimate.
Limit Break: Ring of Fire; Aladdin summons a ring of fire that surround his ennemies. Then, with his scythe, he slashed at them as many times as he can.

Jasmine (Aladdin; voiced by Linda Larkin) – She’s the princess of Agrabah, as well as Aladdin’s wife. Jasmine’s not a typical damsel in distress since she can kick butt more than any other Disney Princess. Let’s say that fighting bad guys with her husband helped her to have fighting skills.
Limit Break: Desert Tornado; She summons a tornado made of sand from her body and send it to her ennemies.

Genie (Aladdin; voiced by Robin Williams) – The ever impressive, the long contained, the often imitated, but never duplicated Genie of the Lamp! He can do anything that the Looney Tunes can do. Genie’s ready to help Al and Jasmine to win the tournament!
Limit Break: Code Red; Remember that scene from the third movie? Well, it’s the same thing here.

Leonardo (TMNT; voiced by Michael Sinterniklaas) – The leader of the Ninja Turtles. Leo uses his katanas to fight his adversary. With all the trainings he got from Master Splinter, this turtle is a great fighter.
Limit Break: Sword of Tengu; Leo summons the Sword of Tengu. He can use it only while wearing a glove. Yep, it’s a powerful sword.

10/13 - Next Karate Kid
There’s no doubt about it: Karate Kid is among the most famous films from the 80’s. It was so successful that it got three sequels: two with Ralph Macchio still as the main actor, and a third one with two-times Academy Awards winner Hilary Swank replacing him while the late Pat Morita as Mr. Myagi was still there. This is the movie we’re talking about. I watched that movie some years ago, even though I only remember some bits and pieces. All I can say is I’m looking forward to it.

10/20 - Casper
That’s a movie I watched a lot of times when I was younger. It’s been years since I watched it, but I remember it to be entertaining. Anyway, I’m curious to see what the Critic’s gonna say about this movie starring the Friendly Ghost.

10/27 - Superman IV with Linkara
HOLY ****ING ****! He’s gonna do a review of SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE?!?!?... Oh… my… GOD! It’s… wonderful! Thank God! To be honest, I never thought he would do a review of this movie, mostly because he already did the Top 11 Dumbest Superman Moments (which I totally enjoyed). But anyway, I’m gonna LOVE this review. I mean, Superman IV is like the movie equivalent of Superman 64. It’s the Superman equivalent of Batman & Robin. Heck, both films are the fourth one in their respective series, as well as the worst of all and the one who bombed the most. Because of Superman IV, we had to wait NINETEEN years before we got Superman Returns. That’s worse than the eight years between B&R and Batman Begins. Of all the upcoming videos, this is the one I’m looking forward to watch the most. And what’s gonna make this one even better, it’s that Linkara himself, who IS A MAN!, will review the movie with Doug! That’s great! I enjoyed the Alone in the Dark review they made with Spoony. I can’t wait to see them making fun of this piece of crap. This movie is a big insult to the Man of Steel himself! This is a bigger treat than the Kryptonite itself!

As you can tell, I’m a huge fan of Superman.

11/3 - Congo
Honestly, I didn’t even know this movie existed until today. From what I read about it on Wikipedia, the story was written by Michael Crichton, the same guy who created Jurassic Park. Except it’s with gorillas instead of dinosaurs. This movie got some nominations at the Razzie Awards. That doesn’t sound good.

11/10 - A Tribute to Siskel and Ebert
A tribute to two of America’s most famous movie critics. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be like when he did a tribute to Drew Struzan.

11/17 - Judge Dredd
I did heard of this movie. However, it never interested me that much to give it a try. It’s another film based on a comic book. Also, it’s gonna be the first Sylvester Stallone movie to be reviewed by the Critic. He reviewed four Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. Now, it’s time for him to review one with Stallone.

11/24 - Tank Girl
Again, another movie I didn’t even heard about before. Again, it’s based on a comic book. A british one this time. It’s featuring Malcom McDowell of A Clockwork Orange fame. For some reasons, it reminds me of Abe Vigoda being in Good Burger and North.

12/1 - Jack Frost
This one, I watched it at least once and many years ago. The story is about a man who died in a car accidenta and comes back as a snowman after his son made somekind of wish. I’m not kidding when I say the ending where the father disappeared forever made me cry at the time. I think if I was aware this guy was also Batman, I would cry even more. And yes, the father was played by Michael Keaton himself. Expect some Bat-jokes to appear in this review.

12/8 - He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special
I never watch this special. In fact, I never watch anything related to He-Man either. I only heard about it. But anyway, the Masters of the Universe live-action film review he did last year is one of my favorite. I’m looking forward to this one as well.

1. Okay, so it's been a year since you got Super Smash Bros. Brawl. What do you think about it today?
One of my all-time favorite games ever! Okay, it DOES have some flaws, but it’s a very excellent game.

2. Did you get the game on its release date?
As a matter of fact, yes! And I have no idea when was the previous time I bought a game on its release date before Brawl.

3. Who's you best character(s)?
I dunno. There’s a lot of characters I like to play with. I don’t know if they are the best I’m good at, but here’s my favorites: Mario, Yoshi, Link, DK, Sonic, Fox, Captain Falcon, Snake and Pit

4. What character do you refuse to play as?
Hmm… Actually, I pretty much like all of them. Maybe it’s Lucas (his moves are too similar to Ness) or somebody else.

5. Do you have any complaints with the game?
Not enough characters. I mean, Melee got TWICE more characters than the first game. Here, we have only 10 more characters instead of twice. Also, making more interactions between characters from the same series in the Subspace Emissary mode. For example, Mario and Luigi never have been in a same cinematic. We have DK and Diddy together, Link, Zelda and Ganondorf together, Marth and Ike together, Dedede and Kirby together… but not a single scene where Mario and Luigi were seen together. And I would like it if there was a stage based on Super Mario Galaxy as well as more boss from other games (such as Petey, Pokey Minch, Ridley and Rayquaza). Oh! And a better Wi-Fi.

6. What would you do to make Brawl better?

7. Now let's talk characters. First, what Nintendo characters would you have liked to see in the game?
King K. Rool (either as a boss or a playable character), Krystal, Slippy, Andross (mostly as a boss), Waluigi, Daisy, Samurai Goroh, Lyn, Ridley (as a playable character this time) and any of the WarioWare characters.

8. What legitamite third-party characters (characters that have starred on a Nintendo system for a third-party like Sega or Rare) would you have liked to see?
Tails, Knuckles, Dr. Eggman (mostly as a boss), Rayman, Globox, Pac-Man, Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Earthworm Jim, Banjo & Kazooie, and any other Sonic characters as long as they don’t overshadow Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

9. Just for kicks: what IMPOSSIBLE third-party characters (third-party characters that have starred on non-Nintendo systems) would you have liked to see in the game?
Ratchet & Clank is the only one who come into my mind.

10. Alright, let's wrap this up. Do you want Nintendo to release a fourth Super Smash Bros. game?
Of course! Who wouldn’t like to see another SBB game?

11. And finally, who/what do you want to see if Nintendo does SSB4?
More characters, more interaction between characters from the same series in a story mode, better Wi-Fi, Downloadable Content and a stage based on Super Mario Galaxy.

Good AND Bad. Good, because it was fun to see almost every Disney characters at the same time in the same place. Bad, because they never used characters from the Disney TV series such as Darkwing Duck, the Rescue Rangers, some DuckTales characters (except Max Goof, who was able to appear in some episodes).

5. What Disney movie(s) you think should have it's own TV show?

Thinking about it, I would like to see an animated series based on Pirates of the Carribean. Yesterday, I saw a video on YouTube featuring Jack Sparrow with the DWD theme song and I think it would be great. Besides, if we have been able to have an animated series based on Ghostbusters, why not PotC?

11. Top 11 Lists (Scariest Nostalgic Moments, Naughtiest Moments in Animaniacs, Catchiest Theme Songs, Drug PSAs, Hottest Animated Women, Saddest Moments, Nostalgic Animated Shows, Underrated Nostalgic Classics, Disney Villains, 12 Greatest Christmas Specials):
Yeah, I know it sounds cliché to put the Top 11 Lists at the number 11 spot, but I do think it’s a good place to put these things here. Most of these videos are very good and quite popular. Heck, the most popular video is the Animaniacs one on the site. Those videos are pretty interesting because they are showing us what are the NC’s tastes, what does he like the most, instead of what does he hate the most. Of all those lists, there’s three of them that I enjoyed the most: Catchiest Theme Songs, Hottest Animated Women and Nostalgic Animated Shows. Mostly because those lists are showing the best things we ever had on TV when we were younger. The Top 11 Drug PSAs is also a good one because it’s hilarious and the NC was able to do quite a lot of good jokes. However, I still can’t believe that the Animaniacs video is the most popular video. I mean, the NC didn’t do a lot of things in this video of about 3 minutes. All he did was showing some moments that were kind of for adults in Animaniacs and that’s all. He didn’t do any single jokes by his own! But anyway, it was a good video. You can agree and disagree with his lists if you want, but it shows that everyone has their own tastes.
Best Parts: the DuckTales song (Theme Song), the Star Wars PSA (Drug PSAs), Lady Tremain (Disney Villains) and many others.

10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movies:
Pretty much like myself, the NC is a fan of the Ninja Turtles. It’s among his most favorite cartoons. Heck, it’s the only show, with G.I. Joe, to be featured in the Top 11 Catchiest Theme Songs, Hottest Animated Women and Nostalgic Animated Shows videos. He loved those movies when he was younger. But after reviewing them, he realized that those movies weren’t the masterpieces he thought. He was able to make fun of those movies very well. BUT, unlike with some other reviews, he DID praised some good things from these movies. For example, he praised the costumes made by Jim Henson’s company for the turtles as well as the opening of the first movie. Overall, this video was good because it was a video on the Ninja Turtles movies by a fan of the Ninja Turtles.
Best Part: April O’Neil’s clothes.

9. Follow That Bird:
That one is a pretty unique video. It’s the only movie the Nostalgia Critic wasn’t able to make fun correctly. Why? Because he loves the Sesame Street characters too much! They have been of his childhood and he couldn’t make fun of them like he usually do. This video shows us one thing: even though it’s a kids show, you can’t make fun of Sesame Street. And what does the Nostalgia Critic did to finish his review of Follow that Bird? Well, I won’t spoil that part, but let’s say it was wonderful.
Best Part: I said I won’t spoil it!

First, there is Teletoon. It’s a canadian channel who is broadcasting cartoons 24/7. It could be considered as the Canadian version of Cartoon Network. It even broadcast some of Cartoon Network programs. There’s two channels with that name: Teletoon (for English Canadian) and Télétoon (for French Canadian). Recently, Teletoon created two other channels: Teletoon Retro (English) and Télétoon Rétro (French).

What makes different Télétoon Rétro from the normal Télétoon? Well, Télétoon Rétro is broadcasting old and classics cartoon from the 20th century 24/7. I’m gonna watching some shows from my childhood as well as some that I never got the chance to see! Here’s the cartoon series broadcast by Télétoon Rétro that I already watched.

The only cartoons missed here, in my mind, are the Ninja Turtles and the Disney cartoon shows from the 80's-90's (mostly, DuckTales, Chip 'n' Dale and Aladdin).

I already watched some of the shows since yesterday. When I saw Inspector Gadget, I liked it. I couldn’t help but loving the part where Gadget was reading that “self-destruct” message from Chief Quimby. It always have been my favorite part in each episode. Too bad they didn’t use it in the Disney live-action movies.

Then, I saw an episode of The Raccoons, a Canadian cartoon series from the 80's. That cartoon series was a great one. It wasn’t camp, it wasn’t an action-packed series, it was a good series about family, friends and love, featuring a bunch of raccoons and some other secondary characters. When I watched the episode broadcast yesterday, well, I loved it. The writers from that show were able to write great stories. It was so much better than any teen series from today, such as One Tree Hill, Hannah Montana, Lizzie Mcguire, Gilmore Girls, That’s So Raven, Zack & Cody, Degrassi: The Next Generation (a Canadian show)…

I watched a Scooby-Doo episode (Mystery Mask Mix-Up). When I saw the title, I already knew what was going to happen since I watch that episode (and many others) a LOT when I was younger. And of course, as usual, Daphne was kidnapped by the villains. And as usual, Scooby and Shaggy were so dumb. But I like them anyway!

This morning, I watched The New Adventures of Batman. Well, let’s say that it’s pretty much like the 1960’s live-action series, except that the episodes doesn’t end with a cliffhanger. Also, I noticed something. In the French-Dubbed version of The New Adventures of Batman, Batman is voiced by the same guy who also voiced Daffy Duck in the most recent French-Dubbed versions of the Looney Tunes cartoons. And since Daffy is playing Batman in Dragon-Wing-Z’s Batduck idea, it’s a pretty good coincidence.

Then, I watched a Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo episode. Nothing else to say, except that it’s exactly like a normal Scooby-Doo episode, but with Scrappy-Doo in it. And then, with my mother and my brother, I watched The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show. We had a lot of fun there. While watching a Tweety and Sylvester short, my mother said that Sylvester is her favorite Looney Tune. Then, I said that Daffy is my favorite Looney Tune (after Bugs). As for my brother, it’s the Coyote. XD

I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have a lot of fun with this new channel. This has to be the best Christmas present I ever had (even if it wasn't a Christmas present).

I saw The Nightmare Before Christmas with my parents yesterday (fitting, since it was Christmas). I rent it only once in my life, which was during this summer). When we arrived at the part where Oogie Boogie was singing his song, I sang it as well, imitating both the voice of Oogie and Santa. My mother couldn't believe that I was able to remember all the lyrics from the song because I watched this movie only once before. And I answered that I watched that song many times on YouTube!

I also played Mario Kart Wii. Of course, I used the Wii Wheel. It's a pretty fun game!

First, we made a trip to Quebec City (yeah, there's a city who has the same name as our province, so... whatever...). Here, we came in a comic book store. I bought a Superman / Batman comic book, a Flash comic book and a book with all the Spider-Man comic books from 1964. My parents bought an encyclopedia on the X-Men to me. That was great.

Second, when we came back home, I received some presents as well. First, I received "The Simpsons Game" on Wii. I rent it once last year and I loved it so much that I wanted to own it. I'm glad to finally have this game. Plus, it will help me a lot when I'll do my fanfiction remake (or parody, if you prefer) of this game (starring Daffy Duck as Homer and many other characters from different series as the other Simpsons characters). Second, I received another Wii game: WarioWare Smooth Moves. Again, I rent it once and I had so much fun with this one as well. Finally, I received a DVD box-sets of the Third Season of an adult french canadian show called "Les Bougon" (translated in english, it's something like "The Bougons"; no relation with "The Simpsons", of course).

1. I want to be an animator and to work on animated movies, working for company such as Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks or even video games companies. That or a comic book artist.

2. I like ‘The Batman’ mainly because some of the characters (Alfred, The Joker, The Penguin, James Gordon and Mr. Freeze) are voiced in the french-dubbed version of the show by the same voice actors of Batman: The Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures.

3. My favorite actor is Jim Carrey.

4. I own every Pixar movies made so far on VHS or DVD (with the exception of Wall-E since, well, it’s not even on DVD yet).

5. My most favorite video games pairing is Luigi x Daisy.

6. I always find it weird that Launchpad McQuack became a character of Darkwing Duck with no explanation to why he moved from DuckTales to Darkwing Duck. This is probably why I never watched Darkwing Duck when I was a kid.

7. My name (Essteka) means S-T-K, which are the first letter of the three main characters’s names of the Sonic series (Sonic, Tails and Knuckles).

8. I can’t wait to see the fight between the Angry Video Game Nerd and the Nostalgia Critic who will happen next Friday.

Yes, I finally saw it. Amazing, unbelievable, incredible, awesome… I don’t know how to begins this review. Well, why not the story?

The story was well written by the scenarists. They surprised us almost each moment. For example, at some point in the story, we think Gordon is dead. And then, BANG! He’s alive. There is also the part with the dead man in a batsuit with Joker make-up. It’s more dark than any other superhero movies. However, it doesn’t mean there isn’t humour. Because there is about ten times when I laughed.

The characters were very well done. It’s because the actors were extraordinairy. As usual, Christian Bale did an awesome job with Batman. I loved Gary Oldman’s performance as Gordon. With no doubt, Aaron Eckhart did a better job than Tommy Lee Jones in “Batman Forever” as Two-Face. Eckhart’s performance was as good as Richard Moll’s performance in “Batman: The Animated Series”. Of course, I can’t forget the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. More dangerous than Jack Nicholson’s version and Mark Hamill’s. It’s a real disturbed psychopate who is crazier than in the comic books. The other actors did also a good job as well.

Special effects were very well done as well. Christopher Nolan’s work was incredible.

Well, what else can I say? It’s an excellent movie and there must be a sequel to this! However, I think it wasn’t closer to the comics than “Batman: The Animated Series”. Some Batman elements wasn’t here. I’m especially thinking about Batman’s investigation scenes. After all, Batman’s first appearance was in DETECTIVE Comics. Also, one of the characters, a guy named Detective Stephens, looked very similar to Harvey Bullock. However, it wasn’t Bullock at all. Am I asking too much to have the real Bullock in a movie?

Anyway, I give to “The Dark Knight” 9.5/10. Now, as for a sequel, since the Joker isn’t dead in this movie, I really do hope that they will use Harley Quinn. I mean, come on! This female character really deserves to appear in a movie! If the writers don’t know how to introduce this character in the plot of the third movie, the solution is quite simple: Call Paul Dini or Bruce Timm, for God’s sakes!
