Finals week is halfway over! I'm so excited for Christmas break . . . and no math class, definitely no math class.

While we're all in the Christmas spirit, and as the real reason why I posted a new journal, watch this neat and inspiring (and very Christmas-y) video from YouTube: [link] Way to make me feel guilty about doing my Christmas shopping early. Bravo, nonetheless.

Oh, yes, and apparently I have managed to hack 's YouTube account. Actually, she forgot to log out when she used my computer, and I managed to discover this while I was watching the Advent Conspiracy video a few minutes ago. Am I safe from flying objects now?
__________

Stacy has convinced me to begin the second half of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Fellowship of the Ring." She's convinced that I am the epitome of Elrond . . . who's still holding his Council. I'm making it sound bad, though.
__________

Artwise, I've been working on some anthro, which I've been wanting to try for some time now (but human bodies are just so tough!). At least this one appears to be getting somewhere, being that I still haven't made any new deviations (aside from that short story entry) since the turning of the year.
__________

Shorter journal entry than normal. Ciao and Merry Christmas!

It's hard to believe that the party was only a week ago, but at the same time, the week seemed to pass really fast. The party was lots of fun, though, (and there was no craziness this year *whew*) and I'm pretty sure Kyle convinced almost everyone to go out and buy Colbert's "I Am America (And So Can You)" . . . and we watched Moulin Rouge!

. . . I showed Moulin Rouge to my parents yesterday. Disappointingly, I don't think they were too thrilled. My dad thought it was okay (and he laughed at the funny parts), but my mom only got through the very first part before walking off out of disinterest. She said she could see where it was going and knew she would end up bawling her eyes out at the end.

This would be the third weekend in a row that I have watched Moulin Rouge.
____________________

If anyone meets me anytime soon, remind me to tell you the story of Peanut the Elephant.
____________________

I'm currently working on a short story for the writing contest.
Over this past weekend, Stacy and I went to the Renaissance Festival with Kinsey and Jasmine, and many of the events that happened there were definitely journal-worthy.

First of all, there was the pickle boy (a.k.a. one of the guys who sells huge pickles - my dad bought one). Kinsey took a picture of him (pickle boy, not my dad) posing scandalously with a giant plywood pickle.

Secondly, people kept commenting on my fedora, which I wore to the Festival and which was apparently noticeable in the medieval setting. Some shopkeeper threw me a free shotglass because of it ("Hey, you . . . the one with the hat!"). At least two other vendors praised my hat.

Speaking of hats, I finally purchased a top hat. It was pretty expensive, but it was cheaper than the toppers I could find elsewhere. I also bought some feathers for my fedora, and in my opinion, it looks schnazzy. To say I am thrilled would be an understatement.

Also, some guy was dressed as a Star Wars Storm Trooper. He must've telepathically hoiked Jasmine's idea of dressing up in a futuristic space-related outfit.

Oh, yes, and the jousting was entertaining as usual. We sat on the opposite side of the lists as we did last year, but we managed to end up rooting for the same guy (Sir William), who managed to win this time. Maybe Jasmine's sonic-boom screaming had something to do with that. And I was happy that Sir Victor didn't have the good horse this year.

After the jousting, Stacy, Jasmine, and I rode an elephant while Kinsey took our picture.

Later on, we sat around for a while watching some people play chess on the giant chess board. Jasmine and another person were very irritated when one of the players failed to see a move which would have put the other player in check-mate.

Kinsey, Stacy, and I forgot to show Jasmine the fencing rings. She says she hates us now, although I'm pretty sure she took her revenge out on me during the car ride by tickling me to near-death.

(By the way, Jasmine, I thought I had finished that Star Trek fanfic you recommended, but I just realized that it has 33 chapters. I have a lot of reading ahead of me. This had better be good.)

Live long and prosper, you filthy peasants.

Being that I'm now two weeks into the school year (and for the purposes of tormenting ye who be exiting the realms of summer vacation), I figured I'd best put forth my appraisal of my senior year thus far.
____________________

Academically, I'm having a great time. After the physical work of summer, it feels good to stretch my brain a bit and hunker down into the scholarly life once again. I love all of my classes, especially Philosophy, and even Calculus seems okay (and a whole lot easier than Precalc, surprise, surprise . . .). Many of my instructors are pretty cool, such as my hypochondriac Geography teacher whom Stacy already told you all about. Also, I seem to have a lot more free time on my hands, and that's something I haven't had during the school year since what, the seventh grade?
____________________

I could get used to this line-separating-thingy. You've started a trend once again, Kirstie.
____________________

Bookwise, I've finally finished "Shaman's Crossing" and have officially started "The Fabric of the Cosmos." I am stoutly determined to carry out an intelligent physics-related conversation with Jasmine, whom I am currently referring to as Spaghetti Rocket. ------- >===>

That weird-looking thingamajiggy is a spaghetti rocket, if anyone was wondering.
____________________

I've also been working on some artwork lately, so the slump seems to be wearing off. Ultimately, it all boils down to the perpetual repetitious habits of the amateur artist. I'm thinking I'll continue with some black and white stuff and perhaps experiment with colored pencils after a short while.
____________________

Aside from that, my family has been planning a trip to the Renaissance Festival, and it should hopefully be a blast! It's always fun to browse the shops and get screamed at by medieval people. All I can say is that the bees had better stay away from my turkey drumstick this year.

As all of you probably know from Jasmine's most recent journal entry, I made a deal with her that I would post this conversation between Stacy and me if she would post that other conversation between her and me. I had best make good on that deal. It sprouts from Stacy's journal entry titled "Emerson and the Elephants" and eventually turns into word play involving the use of incorrect words.

Me: Pygmy, Stacy. Gosh! *turns head in Napoleon Dynamite imitation*

Stacy: Wait, . . . what? Did I spell it wrong? It hath been change-ed.

Me: Thatt wo'nt stoop mi frum mokking yu.

Stacy: I apricot your detrimation, but the affront is Ulysses.

Me: Lol. How corrosive.

Stacy: Quiet corrosive, inside.

Jasmine: You guys make my day!! *giggles* Ow... the joy... it hurts!!

Me: Fabricating.

Stacy: Intersecting.

Me: Inbreeding.

Stacy: I sink you mane "ingreeting," but I get your pint.

Me: This conversion is abusive.

Stacy: What is this conservation? My analogies, but my seduction skills are unstable to triangulate.

Me: Should've had a rebate!
__________

Aside from that silliness, I stayed up late Tuesday night with Kirstie watching a meteor shower in my backyard. It was so fun to be able to look at the stars (and we saw a few cool meteors), even though the moon was so bright that it made viewing difficult. We talked a lot about a lot, and we listened to Tom Petty on Kirstie's iPod. We also saw many planes (Who knew so many flew over my house at night?), got chowed by mosquitos, and came perilously close to being pooped on by some very low-flying bats. In a nutshell, it was lots of fun.

Post "words" as a reply to this journal, and I'll describe you with five words which you can then post in your journal so the game can spread like cyberherpes.

This list was given to me by :

College: Of course, I'm a college student currently wishing I could lasso a few friends into joining me my academic expedition. The strange thing is that I'll be graduating with my AA degree before I'm even out of high school because the college school year ends before the high school's. I'M NOT GOING BACK TO THE HIGH SCHOOL EVEN IF YOU DRAG ME BY MY SHOELACES!

Writing: Oh, yeah, I'm picky about my writing skills. If there's someone in the car venting about misused punctuation, it's bound to be me if it's not my sister.

Twins: If you haven't noticed, I have a shadow lurking around here . . .

Horses: I love spending time around horses, and I usually devote two days a week to volunteering at a stable. Road apples on my boots and sawdust in my hair are A-okay.

Books: Books are one of my obsessions. When my sister and I visited UND a few weeks ago, and everyone else was talking to the head of the Biology department, I was off in my own world staring at the ceiling-high bookshelves that took up the entirety of his office's wall space. *drools*

This list was given to me by :

Scotty (TOS): Apparently, when classifying all of her friends as Star Trek characters, Jasmine pinpointed me as Scotty from the original series, but when I took an internet test I turned up as Spock. I still don't quite see the connection to either.

Good Twin: It's good to know that people think of me that way.

Advertisement: Well, I'm thinking about majoring in Marketing or Business Administration, so I guess that includes advertising.

Gracy: The whale? I think she threw this one in the bucket for the heck of it.

Catholic: Indeed, although I don't always agree with the Church. I go to mass every Sunday. I'm pro-life but also support birth control. I believe women should be allowed to be ordained as priests (or, in that case, priestesses). I support the separation of Church and state. I believe that gay/bi/lesbian couples should be allowed legal marriage so long as the Catholic Church is not forced to recognize it (and until we can find a common reason for which to ban it). I have many beliefs that may make me seem like a radical, but deep down I am a Catholic, and I will not abandon my religion.

This list was given to me by :

Books: See above.

Horses: See above.

Catholic: See above.

Cheery: Usually true, especially around friends. Kinsey has learned the hard way that I can be a grouch when I have a headache, and I know for a fact that I have my scribbly cloud days. At work, people are always commenting on how cheerul and smiley I am, so for the most part, I agree. Thanks.

Sound effects: Oh, yes. You see, I came up with this idea that my friends and I should have a specified Sound Effect Day (or Hour, or whatever works) during which we can only speak to one another through sound effects. I think most of the conversation will consist of us laughing at one another. Date (and possibly time) have yet to be decided.

This list was given to me by :

Elrond: Stacy told me that this was the first word that came to mind. Apparently, if you've read my second journal entry, you know that Kinsey pinpointed me as the character Elrond from LoTR, only to have it affirmed by an online test. If anyone has seen the first movie, he's the elf who looks like his face is stuck in a perpetual scowl. (If you've read the books, on the other hand, it should be quite obvious which one he is.) Stacy says that Elrond is definitely me in fictional form (I'll assume that that's not necessarily a bad thing), and this similarity probably explains why I was matched as Spock on the Star Trek test, even though it was only a 75% match. The Ring must be destroyed!

Artist: I really like doing artwork in my free time, but I tend to dislike art classes because they don't allow me the freedom to do what I want when...

Yes, yes, I haven't added much for artwork since Balerion (which was quite exhausting and drained much of my artsy drive), if you don't count the short story, but I figured that since deviantART is one of my main communication networks with my friends, I should at least update my journal. So here's the update dump on what's going on in my life:
First of all, Stacy and I were out of town for most of last week on more college visits, this time hitting the Twin Cities, Winona, and a little bit of Wisconsin. It's pretty weird how my impressions turned out; the colleges that I had high hopes for tended to not make my favorites list, but the ones that I hadn't expected much of turned out to be the ones I liked best. My favorite three are still from the first round of visits, though: Saint Ben's, Saint Scholastica, and Bemidji State. That's enough for the college chat, I think.
Otherwise, Stacy and I have also been scouting for proper English riding attire, i.e. breeches, boots, half-chaps, the whole schebang, and it is EXPENSIVE! Finding riding breeches that fit has been a challenge (no success yet), but I really like how the boots look with the half-chaps -- schnazzy, indeed.
Apart from that, along with working and volunteering at the stable, I've been trying to hang out with friends as much as possible. In other words, I'd love to tag along if anyone cooks up some good ideas of what to do. *hint hint to anyone out there* Speaking of which, I'd love to go to the Willy Wonka play with some friends, although Stacy and I might have to go separately because of our alternating work schedules. The nights that work for me are tonight (June 23rd, opening night) and . . . wow, that's the only one for sure. Other *possible* dates are the daytime performances on June 27th anf July 5th. Anyone up for a night at the theatre?

Yesterday was the exhausting last day of finals, with an Econ final (which went much better than expected) followed immediately by a Precalc final (which went miserably). My brain felt like a gelatinous glob for the rest of the day, but now that it's the day after, I'm happy to announce that it's SUMMER VACATION! *huge sigh of relief*
Now that I've made a few people jealous, I'll talk about the fun stuff that's been going on lately.
Joining the buzz, Stacy and I went to the Star Trek movie with a group of friends on Friday. I really enjoyed the spontaneity of it all: "Hey, would you guys like to come along?" Of course! I'm glad it all worked out, so Stacy and I were able to go along and have a good time. Although I do not share the obsession (hey, I'm a tough critic), I'll say that the characterization was great, and I like joining in on the fun. What's really funny was that the person at the box office gave us children's tickets!
Also, after a couple years of wearing my cross necklace, I lost it. 'Tis a mini-tragedy.
As for tonight, my sister and I are hoping to go to the high school's band concert, although we're not necessarily sure we'll be able to make it. Hopefully the scheduling works out.
Oh, yes, and I managed to finish "Angels and Demons" a couple of hours ago. I had been reading it furiously for the past week in anticipation for the movie. I'd like to get together with some friends sometime to go see it. Like Stacy, being a Catholic who also heralds the wonders of science, I'm glad to have a side in the whole science-religion standoff.

Live long and eat your veggies!

EDIT: You wouldn't believe what Stacy saw in Wal-Mart today . . . a Spock Barbie! *cackles uncontrollably*

Hurrah, hurrah. 'Tis the first official day of spring break, and I'm enjoying myself by chilling in front of the computer screen. To start off the vacation, Stacy and I took the SAT today. If anyone needs reassurance, it's nothing to stress over; it's a lot easier than the PSAT. I feel . . . peaceful, especially since that's over.
Yesterday, though, was not so peaceful. I had a Precalculus test that required too much problem-solving in too little time. That's discouraging, 'cause I was really confident about this test. To make a long story short, the whole classroom was in a state of mental chaos, and I was so stressed that I could barely write my answer to the last question (My hand was shaking so badly, I could hardly write a comma! *shakes head in disbelief*). I just hope I didn't bomb it. The instructor was nice about it, though. Instead of snatching my paper away like other teachers might, she let me steady my hand enough to at least write the answer.
On a much higher note, Stacy and I are going to be visiting colleges all across the state this week. (YEEEE!!! I'm excited!) We're traveling to Duluth, Bemidji, and St. Cloud, and we're revisiting the Fargo/Moorhead area to catch a glimpse of the two colleges we missed the first time.
Happy break, everyone!

Wait for me!!! *runs after bandwagon and hops on*

THE RULES:
1. Put your iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc. on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS.
4: The Neverland Rule: Write down whatever snarky returns come to your mind afterward.

IF SOMEONE SAYS "IS THIS OKAY?" YOU SAY?
"Janie's Got a Gun" by Aerosmith (I guess it's not okay. I'm gonna go out and shoot you for sexually assaulting me.)

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
"Only the Good Die Young" by Billy Joel (Hey, I'm a lot like that Virginia girl.)

WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?
"The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac (No comment.)

HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY?
"The Other Side" by Aerosmith (I love this song. I don't dance in real life, but if minds could dance, mine would be going crazy on the dancefloor right now.)

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE?
"The Ocean" by Led Zeppelin (I'm not sure what this means.)

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
"Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" by the Police (Another song I love. It would be pretty cool if everything I did was magic.)

WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?
"Dude (Looks like a Lady)" (GAAAAAH!!! This song has come up in so many of these Shuffle Journal thingamejiggers. If I were a guy, I would have so much fun crossdressing, but girls can't have as much fun with it. I wonder if my friends really think of me this way.)

WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?
"Renegade" by Styx (Well, if so, they haven't kicked me out yet.)

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT OFTEN?
"Tusk" by Fleetwood Mac (Hmmmm . . . primitive music that mentions telephones?)

WHAT IS 2 + 2?
"You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC (Perhaps I'm too high on drugs to do simple math.)

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?
"Industrial Disease" by Dire Straits (Maybe a little accurate. Everyone's so caught up with material possessions and popularity, and it's all rather silly.)

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie (I'm sorry, Jesus!)

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?
"Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel (What the . . . ? Metaphors with sexual implications???)

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
"Dancin' Fool" by the Guess Who (Maybe I'll grow up to be a professional dancer . . . or maybe not.)

WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"Something About You" by Boston (I love Boston. They have generally feel-good music, and this is probably my favorite song of theirs.)

WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?
"Judy Blue Eyes" by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young (I doubt it. It's like setting someone up for a grim honeymoon.)

WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
"Separate Ways" by Journey (Ooooo, my favorite Journey song. It always reminds me of AGoT and 2009 Ford F-150s because I was reading AGoT outside a car dealership when it played. The title seems appropriate for a funeral, though.)

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?
"We Are the Champions" by Queen (We are.)

WHAT WILL YOU POST THIS AS?
"It's Only Rock 'n Roll" by the Rolling Stones (Silly Rolling Stones don't know how to abbreviate the word "and.")

I figured that because a lot of stuff seems to be happening lately, I should update everyone on how life's going.
First off, I finished a short story that I'd been contemplating since before Christmas break. It's pretty much ten pages on the dot, so it barely fits the maximum for the college writing contest, but I think it exceeds the limit for the high school's. Boo. In any case, I want to see if it'll win anything.
Also, over the long weekend, while I didn't get the time to visit Turbo, I spent a ton of time on Saturday (about 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) volunteering at a local riding stable. It felt good to get back into stable work, although I had to adjust to a new facility. I'm surprised at how many of the horses I remembered, but there were also a few ones I had yet to meet. The new place is smaller, so that's nice, but there are also fewer volunteers, so they were grateful for the help Stacy and I could offer. Today, we bought some canvas jackets from Fleet Farm that we can get dirty while working around the horses. Man, I love stables.
Yesterday, my family went on our first college visit. We drove three hours (I hate travel . . . ) to Fargo/Moorhead and visited MSU Moorhead. I'm completely serious when I say that the entire route, when it wasn't farm fields, was speckled with Subways and Dairy Queens. I like MSUM's mascot (a dragon named Scorch), but the campus didn't appeal to me. It was a bit too windy, and I couldn't tell one building from another because they were all made out of brick. And there are NO PRIVATE BATHROOMS! (O.O) Altogether, I thought it was too spread out for my tastes, but we're coming back to that area later to visit Concordia and NDSU. I'm excited!
Yup, yup, there you have it: the current events in the life of Alex.

I know I just updated my journal a couple of days ago, and I'll apologize beforehand for this one's humongous size, but I felt an extraordinary urge to blab about my terrible driving experience.
Once upon a time (yesterday, in fact), I was at the high school for a meeting, but afterward I had to leave Stacy in the school so I could move my car out of the 15-minute parking area. When Stacy came out again, she warned me that the road was very slippery because she had a hard time even walking on the ice.
So, yeah, I pulled out of my parking spot, tried to turn left, and practically did a 180. (I didn't crash into anything. *whew*) At the next intersection, after stopping at a stop sign, my car wouldn't budge. I tried reversing, and that worked for a little bit, but I couldn't move forward whatsoever. Eventually, I had to practically "gun it" to get anywhere, and there was a huge cloud of exhaust spewing out my tail pipe, and Stacy and I could definitely smell my tires burning. I got the car to scuttle across 6th Street (SCARY!!!), and the car was fishtailing everywhere on that one-way street by the high school, and I was moving so slowly that my speed didn't even show up on my speedometer.
I know this sounds stupid, but I thought the car would be just fine once it got out on the roads where there isn't as much snow. As you can probably guess, I was wrong. My car got stuck in the middle of the road (both lanes) right in front of the high school's main entrance. It was so frustrating just getting the car to move. I was blowing exhaust all over the truck in back of me, and Stacy couldn't get a signal on her cell phone to call Dad, so all I could do was try to move without getting in an accident. Eventually, the car began to move, and I was perfectly happy to settle for that. I would've pulled over if there was anywhere nearby to park, but as it happens there wasn't.
To make a long story short, the rest of the short drive to the college was scary and very unsteady, until we reached the bridge, where (at the same time) Stacy's cell got a signal and I realized I had my park brake on! (bops self on forehead, feels like such an idiot) I can't believe I didn't even notice the red light on the dash. I'm so embarassed. I'm just glad I didn't get in an accident. I could handle wrecking my own car, but I couldn't imagine the guilt of wrecking someone else's too.
It's good to know that my car's fine. I probably killed my park break, though. It was a lesson I'm not likely to forget anytime soon.

Now that I'm almost finished with my 2-D Design and Color class, I'm going to be posting all of my classwork online sometime in the near future. So, if you're wondering what's up with a sudden flood of deviations, that's why. I can't really call it a "sketch dump," then, but I don't know if there's another name for a bombardment of past artwork. (This is all assuming that Mic, my art teacher, gets all of those slides back to me on Friday. His computer was acting funny, so I don't have the pictures as of yet. I hope it all works out because my scanner is way too small to even think about editing these pictures together.)
And, hurrah! I finished "A Storm of Swords." It had a really good Littlefinger scene and a really . . . unique . . . killoff, both of which I spoiled for myself by looking at artwork online. My advice: NEVER look up fan art if you aren't done with the series, even if you're just looking for your own!!!

Merry (early) Christmas!

You guys know my family: we're not getting up early to shop. We love our sleep too much. So, yeah, I'm hoping to put up some new deviations that have been sitting around . . . as soon as I figure out how to work the scanner. Also, we finished painting the downstairs family room.
Wow. As of today it's been over a month since I've updated my journal, so I figured I should do that while I have the time to spare.
First off, I have confirmation class tonight, which I like. I finally picked a saint: Isidore the Farmer. Yeah, I read about tons of saints out of a children's book I got for First Communion. He's not to be mistook for another Isidore, Kyle's saint, the patron saint of the Internet. (O.o)
Also, I'm currently obsessed with the Song of Ice and Fire series. GLAWHWHWH (drools). This also means that I've been working on my people-drawing skills so that I can draw some characters. I have a pencil-shaded Daenerys partway done, and yesterday I finished a Tywin Lannister in pen. (I had Vet's Day off, so I was able to finish him.) Too bad, though; the scanner's not working, so I still haven't been able to post more deviations.
Finally, as many of you know, I'm seventeen! Whoo-hoo! Also, since it's been over six months since I've gotten my license, I can drive as many people as I wish. Stacy and I chose to have a small party this year 'cause we didn't want to hassle with RSVPs and cleaning up and such. So we invited the three friends we've known the longest and just kept it to a simple sleepover. (Please no one get offended because of this; by now, we have more friends than our house can fit.)
"And then we pluck it! That's it!"

Yay! I'm so happy because that Gregory Park Homecoming thingy was so much fun. It was nice to see so many of my friends again! We need to do that kind of stuff more often.
I also finished my book (hurrah, hurrah), and I'm back to reading George R. R. Martin. It's nice to immerse in professional writing again, especially after reading the work of a first-time author. Stacy's addicted to the series (I'm pretty sure she'd agree with me on that!), so she's hovering over me like a vulture every time I pick up the book. Too bad he killed off my favorite character in the last one . . .
Oh, yes, and I'm taking the PSAT on Wednesday, so I'll be missing a few of my classes. Yo necesito la terea de las clases de espanol y ingles . . . Then it's MEA BREAK!!! We should all hang out and have some fun! (Not that I have any ideas; my mind is always empty when it comes to finding fun things to do.)
Lastly, I have a deviation to put on here, but my scanner isn't installed on this computer, so it'll have to wait. And, if anyone wants a movie recommendation, I'd suggest "Death at a Funeral." (It's British. ) It may seem dull at first, but believe me, it gets better when the high guy goes nude on the rooftop!
So here's the story:
Wednesday, I walk into Intro. to Lit. class and sit down, as normal. Everyone is kind of relieved that we are finally turning in our short story reports, except for one thing . . . the instructor doesn't show up. Normally, CLC's policy is that if the teacher is 10 minutes late, the class is canceled for the day. Well, our teacher is handicapped, so we're not sure how much time we should give her to get to class. After 15 minutes, the fire alarm goes off, and we all head outside. Out there, we notice the instructor is WAY on the other end of the lawn, but we can tell it's her. We don't know why she was over there. Anyhow, so after we're all allowed back in, we send one student to the library (where the teacher's office is) to look for her. Apparently, she was in there waiting for US to show up. She had thought we were meeting in the library (which she never told us). In all honesty, I think she just forgot about the class.
We get to her office around 12:25 (the class was supposed to begin at noon), and there's a line leading to her office. She is INDIVIDUALLY CHECKING EVERYONE'S PAPERS and REJECTING THEM!!! So, one by one, each student goes into her office only to be sent away after five minutes or so to correct his or her report by Friday. I was near the back of the line, and because of this I was 15 MINUTES LATE for art class! Ack!
Thank goodness Mic (my art teacher) forgave me. He said I'm never late, so he trusts that it was for a good reason. Whew! Nevertheless, I was sooo irritated. I just hope it never happens again. At least my Lit. teacher accepted the papers today.
Oh, yes, and it doesn't help that Grant's in my Confirmation class.
Craziness.

Well, yesterday was Festival Latino at CLC, and face painting was actually fun. Stacy and I got some pretty weird requests; Stacy got to paint a dragon on a boy's face, and I got stuck paining Hannah Montana at one point. (That was hard but, um, . . . different?) In any case, that was the first time I had to paint a face on a face. The food was delicious, and I was surprised at how many people got up to dance with the band that was playing. At the end, though, we were stuck with gallons upon gallons of exotic juices that nobody drank. Our Spanish teacher, Jan, didn't want us to waste it, so she told everyone to drink up! I didn't, though, because it was disgusting (Yes, I tried it earlier.).
So, yeah. That was my day. Ingredients: oddities, fun, and mysterius byproducts.

So, yeah. Life at CLC is great, blah, blah, blah. I just felt like blabbing about all the happenings and whatnot going on.
Yesterday Stacy and I went to our Confirmation orientation at St. Andrew's. It's really weird because so few people signed up that we STILL don't have classes set. They said we should be set in classes next week, but I hope we're not with Grant. D: I know that was kind of mean to say, but it's true nevertheless.
Today we have Economics Club in the High School theatre from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (hint, hint, if anyone wants to go) They'll be talking about bank accounts and credit cards and a whole bunch of other useful stuff. I sure hope Stacy, Eric, and me aren't the only ones there. I also hope it's not boring.
Then Saturday it's Festival Latino!!! Stacy and I are going to be face painting, and there will also be music, arts 'n' crafts, dancing, and food. There's an $8.00 admission fee for non-students, and it's all held in the CLC cafeteria/commons from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The festival is a scholarship fundraiser for CLC's foreign language students.
Saturday we're also meeting at Linda Dockter's house for Interact. We'll need to ask her about the times on this trash-picky-uppy thing that Rotary is doing sometime soon.
Also, a heads-up. Interact is soon going to be doing their rose sale. I don't know if anyone wants roses, but I believe that starts on the morning of October 6th. So far, Linda's thinking $2.00 for one rose, $12.00 for a dozen. So, if you want a rose, bring money to school on the 6th!
Ummm, yup, that's it!

Well, this morning I went to an Interact meeting in the Career Center, and I was surprised at how many people were there. At the moment they're planning for the Homecoming Parade, designing the float and whatnot. In any case, Linda Dockter has an antique ambulance, and the club is hoping that Stacy and I can make a huge, dead, paper-mache cardinal to strap to the top of it. (The homecoming game's against Alexandria, if anyone's wondering where the cardinal came from).
So, anyway, Stacy and I came in after classes to see if we could hang out with Kirstie for fifth hour (her open hour), do homework during sixth hour, and talk to Mrs. Medin about the cardinal after school. Well, we couldn't find Kirstie, so we stopped in the hallway so I could call her on my cell phone. I never got to call her, though, because Mrs. Rusk stopped by. Apparently, PSEO students aren't supposed to park in the Visitor Parking area, and we're not even allowed IN the school unless we have an appointment. (O.o) That's kind of a Catch-22 because we need to be in the school to set up an appointment with Mrs. Medin. Whatever; that was my venting moment.
As far as artwork goes, I've been working on a drawing of a winged horse, and I have only one wing left. However, that's a time-consuming process, so who knows when it'll actually be done.
(lol) I like the little mad mood emoticon . . .

Alrighty, so pretty soon everyone is going to be back to the high school, which means that Stacy and I can come visit people after school hours! I may or may not come over there on Tuesday (tentative schedule, you know), but I'm hoping to. Maybe I'll make some phone calls, see what happens, blah, blah, blah.
Also, (this is for Jasmine) I finished "Good Omens," so I was wondering when would be a convenient time to drop it off for thou. I'm close by, so if I could catch you after school sometime that would be great!
So, yeah. Das ist all. Ciao!

As all of you probably know by now, Stacy and I started college yesterday. It sure is different from high school, but I think I like it better. I spend very little time actually AT the college (for instance, today I only had two classes and got to go home). I also like how the instructors seem more open-minded, so I end up surprisingly enjoying the time spent in class. Also, I'm taking an online course, but that's certainly going to take some getting used to. One of my favorite parts about taking college classes is . . . NO NOTES!!! I can highlight in the textbook! (Yeee! I'm liking that notion. XP) To be a pessimist, though, the food's nothing special.
Oh yeah, and it's really weird: Stacy and I are in the same Composition I class as our cousin Liz (and she's three years older than us). My classes for this semester are Spanish I, Composition I, Intro. to Literature, 2-D Design and Color, and Life Science Chemistry (online).
Alrighty, then. I hope to keep in contact with all of you throughout the school year. You're the coolest buddies ever! Ta-ta for now!

Okay, so I just felt like blabbing about everything and decided to write it all in a journal.
First things first, I learned yesterday that Nikki can't ride Emmy right now because of her whiplash, so she asked Kayla (my co-worker) to do it for her, which is absolutely AWESOME! Stacy and I are going to meet her at the Merrifield SuperAmerica station tomorrow so that we can show her the way to the stable, and then we're going to go riding together. Yay! However, I warned her that Emmy is crazy; apparently, so did Nikki. But it should be fun and (hopefully) not disastrous.
Secondly, I finally (whew!) finished my book and started another one. The last one was interesting enough, but it kind of (pardon my French) sucked. It was humorless and dry, and it was so long that the author couldn't even come up with a proper ending. He just sort-of cut the book off. It wasn't even a cliff-hanger. Thank goodness the book I'm reading now is actually funny. I like the demons and the four riders (from the Apocalypse).
Speaking of the four riders, I know that there's War, Famine, and Death, but is the fourth one really Pollution? I'll go check right now . . . nope; it's Plague. In "Good Omens" he's Pollution. Famine is my favorite so far.
Third and finally, we got a new computer! Yeee! It's really cool because it's a widescreen, although Stacy thinks it's kind of weird. I need to get used to the whole Windows Vista thing rather than XP. I think I'm going to like it.
So yeah, there's my blabbety moment. Ta-ta for now.

Well, yesterday was fun. I went to St. Cloud, visited the mall, bought some clothes, etc. etc. etc. . . . but, as always, I came back with books (none of which were on my to-buy list). One of these books, I noted, was very interesting because it had two different covers for the two different authors. It's called "Good Omens," and I found it under Terry Pratchett's name, although it's co-written by Neil Gaiman. The cover was black with yellow print featuring an angel reclining with a good book. I read the back . . . sounded interesting and hilarious (yay!) . . . and walked over to Stacy to show her my great find. Then she told me that she had seen the same book under Neil Gaiman's name, only it had a different cover. So she led me to it, and sure enough there it was: "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. This cover, however, was white with red print and featured a demon reclining with a wine glass and shades. I liked it better, so I bought that version instead. What can I say? The demon had a cool necktie.
Then today, more glorious books. Stacy and I went to the college today to pick up our textbooks (bleh . . . don't make me go back!!!). That was a bit confusing. In any case, summer is going by WAY too fast. As of today I have two weeks left. (extended, dramatic groan)

Okay, here's the story: Yesterday my sister and I went to our dentist appointments and afterwards hung out with Kinsey at her mom's house. Being the lazy bums we are, we decided to watch a couple of movies, the first being "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." That one was kind of corny, but it had good graphics (and everyone knows I'm a sucker for those). It was better than the book (which I have read twice). They should have made a movie of "The Magician's Nephew" first, though.
The second movie we watched was "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring". Although I had seen it once, it was pretty much new to me because I couldn't even follow the story the first time. However, with a lot of help from subtitles and Kinsey as a reference, I was able to basically get the hang of what was going on. It was really funny when Elrond (the serious elf guy) first appeared on the screen because I burst out laughing because he was sooo ugly, even with all the crazy-looking beasts in that movie. Then Kinsey couldn't stop laughing, and later she told me it was because Elrond had always reminded her of me. That was . . . odd . . . unexpected . . . hilarious . . . all of the above.
So today I decided to take a test on the internet to see which "Lord of the Rings" character I would be. Whaddya know . . . I'm Elrond!
How appropriate.
