I'm definitely going to try to make Runes of Teleportation and an Alliance symbol (if that wretched lion in it feels cooperative), but what other common WoW items are there? I've only played a mage consistently, and didn't go farther than BC-level content since I was a level 70 AV twink before they changed the brackets.

HALLOWEEN! I got TONS of candy, though sadly no exotic brands. I ended up giving all of it to my sis, who'll give it to her clustermates at her dorm. Otherwise I'd eat it all @__@ Since I didn't plan a costume this wear, I wore a bizarre mix of an old storebought wizard costume and parts of my Maple cosplay. I went with my sis and a buncha friends, all in HS or uni, and the people that gave us candy were like "oh, big kids! lololol". There was this creepy guy walking alone in the neighborhood we were trick-or-treating in, wielding a really big stick. I can't figure out whether he was just creepy, or trying and failing to look like Harry Dresden. By Occam's Razor, probably just being plain creepy.

And...

NEW D.GRAY-MAN UP! The new plotline of the past 2 chapters is so WTF and full of new info that I still don't quite understand it. Alma? (F.E.A.R. LOL!) Massive Kanda backstory dump? Instant reveal of all the Noahs? Too much! The Earl's alternative human form is quite interesting, though why it was revealed at this point still confuses me. He was my fav character even in his demon form but this does make him a lot more palatable. A LOT more hehe. His resemblance to Mana and angst over the betrayal of the 14th = nextchapplzNOW. As usual, I'm rooting for the Noahs It's no fun to see the good guys win!

Collector's Edition of WoW: Wrath of the Lich King (208page artbook hoshit), or Collector's Edition of Aion (Figurine and exclusive wings)?

I've looked at videos and screenshots of Aion and it is simply gorgeous. The flight and endgame PvP are also appealing.

However, I really love the heaps of accreted lore in WoW and Aion's premise of good vs. evil with only human characters(!) is rather bland.

What I am looking for is a game that is enjoyable in both small and huge doses. I kept myself at 70 in WoW so that I would not become addicted to raiding, though with the advent of the AV bracket changes it is no longer viable. If Aion can deliver, I'll play it to satisfy my gaming impulses but follow WoW's lore just as fanatically _{(omg Icecrown instance includes Jaina as accompanying NPC when you confront Arthas! ship ship ship)}.

I plan to pick either up before the Xmas season when prices rise. Both Collector's Editions are $70-$80ish.

What's the deal with that smell?

Somehow my sis managed to squeeze her boxes of belongings into her room and we were free to romp around campus looking for stuff to to. Since it was an event week, we did lots of random crap like freeze our asses off watching "I Love you, Man" outside at night sitting on a giant lawn, buy food at a farmers market and eat very unhealthily. I got a bit sick since the first night I slept on a couch in the common room (sis lives in a cluster) and I couldn't sleep for ages since there were people yammering and yammering and yammering for hours. And then the second night I had to sleep on the floor, since my sis' roommate wouldn't let me put my sleeping bag atop her pristine, untouchable bed even though she'd be gone for the next few days. Bah.

Dorms don't sound quite so appealing anymore. I'm sorta glad I didn't get a spot this quarter. Hurr.

Well that's the end of that, on to useless tidbits:

- I quit WoW for the school year. And I was having so much FUNNNNNN smashing in skulls with mah PALLY POWAH.
- I'm still working on Pochi-chan's art trade and developing a healthy hatred of all aprons.
- I am not doing any sewing or clay art whatsoever, besides this one commission wing necklace that I really liked and was proud of and forgot to take a picture of. Sadface.
- Watching Heroes, yay.
- Waiting for Clone Wars premiere.
- Trying to lose that elusive 10 lbs everyone wants to lose.
- Feeling proud of my websites, [link] and [link] . Joomla does wonders even when in the hands of idiots.
- Found out that the Special Indian Version of my computer science textbook is not a perfect equivalent to the edition that my class calls for. The $90 I saved by buying it tells me it doesn't matter.

- I wish Square Enix would release a sequel to FFCC:RoF. I want me more Chaspel plz

As for Taiwan itself, it was an OK trip but what I noticed most was the fact that my health was much better there. Perhaps I should move there when I get older LOL. I am desperately missing the $1.50 Bubble Tea, and $2 Beef Noodles. Sob.

Right now, I'm trying to find a job... college aint cheap. Will probably end up working at Michaels since I didn't get a dorm (stares at accusingly, how'd YOU get one?) and therefore a campus job isn't ideal.

My sis is starting college this year- she has $0 in textbook fees. And will never take a math course again. The jealously is overwhelming... I knew I should've picked the art path.

I'm actually not really dreading the start of school.

It's been sold. I didn't get a chance to cancel it when I realized my error 1 second later.

What's the point of playing anymore? That was everything I had.

My whole life was Maple- I made maple crafts, drew maple art, and played the game for 3 years.

I don't think it's sunk in yet.

I sold the only item I owned worth anything for TWENTY-NINE CENTS.

I don't really want to play the game anymore but... I don't think I'm going to leave the fandom. Mushrooms and slimes are too cute... and I still need to make a Pink Been plushie.

I was surprised by her comment since I've tried (not enough, now that I've actually taken a closer look) to keep my art from going all the way into big-eyed, chopstick-limbed territory. I harbor a lot of respect for traditional art- the kind of model drawing and still life. But in Deviantart, that kind of art will get you nowhere; and I wonder if that's indicative of the art scene in general. Good anime artists here attract legions of devoted followers, yet gorgeously drawn realistic art is passed by with disinterest.

Fandom is also a significant factor in popularity here. Original art isn't given the same attention. Even though fanart is made irrelevant when actually trying to make a career out of art (since you can't sell it) on dA fanart is king, queen, and the whole monarchy.

I know that I'd respect myself more if I was able to draw good trad art; but if the artistic winds truly are universally shifting in favor of anime-style art, then I may have to pick that instead. What's the use of art if no one looks at it?

It was soo, sooo fun.

My friend came over from California to go to the con, and we got there at 1 PM on Friday....and spent the next 5 hours waiting in line for our admission badges. My sister and I had preregistered so it took use about 2.5 hours, but alranth wasn't and had to wait in the registration line. =__=; It was grueling, and our feet hurt like hell afterwards. My DS ran out of batteries halfway and I had to find an outlet. Pictochat was really the only interesting thing to do, and it was so annoying whenever some random troll came in and started drawing penises. It would've been nice if the DS had user tracking functions so I could've given them a kick in the shins.

Once we FINALLY got out of the line, we wandered around the artist's alley for a bit. There was some really nice art, and I seized an amazing polymer clay figurine of a TWEWY character. I don't even play TWEWY, but the figurines were just so well done I had to get SOMETHING. It's sitting on my clay desk right now as an inspiration.

We (Me, alranth, my sis, my friend , and her two friends) rested in our hotel room for a while then headed out for dinner. Waiting in line for hours on end can make one really hungry. My sis, alranth, and I opted to eat the overpriced hotel restaurant. The food was quite good, but looking back at it eating anything at the time was a bad, bad idea. Right afterwards we headed to the Fuzzy Fuzz Ball, the first dance of the con.

Dancing + haven just eaten = stomach OWWIIIIIEEE.

It was pretty fun, though. I think I'm finally able to dance rudimentarily, instead of pathetically standing and feeling horribly self-conscious. Feeling the bass rattle through your lungs is an awesome experience. Glow sticks are awesome too. Next year I have to buy a few beforehand. And the strange fingerlights I got from DX. And invisible ink. And...MONEYYYY.

I forgot to bring money to the con. =______= I ended up borrowing so much from my sis, blecchh. My had a test on Friday morning so my con-planning was totally shot.

So anyways, we went back to the hotel at around uh.... 12:30 AM? I don't remember. What I do remember was watching Moyashimon on alranth's computer till wayyyy early. THEY ARE SO CUTE. OMG. OMG. "Tadayasuuuuu!"

Having gorged myself on images of cute microbes, I found myself locked out of my own hotel room at 3 AM, cuz alranth and my sis were sharing a room and miasmamelody and I were sharing one. We were originally going to have a 4-person room, but for some reason it got split. At least they were next to each other, but there was no connecting door. Anyways, I had to knock on the door till miasmamelody woke up and removed the door bar. Sorry!

The next day we got breakfast at Taco Del Mar, where I apparently looked very cute eating my oversized, monstrous burrito while wearing my apple hat (my "costume" was my apple hat, a devil slime from Maplestory which NO ONE recognized, and cute-ish asian clothes). OOOKKK. I ate half of it and then wrapped it up elaborately for further consumption. This trusty burrito would last me the whole day, lmao.

After that we checked out of the hotel (only 1 night, should've gotten Sat night too) we went to the exhibition hall for the first time. There was a huge selection of plushie hats, t-shirts, manda, keychains... The only thing I got was a tiny Moyashimon yeast keychain though. Cutecutecuuuuute.

Thennn we went to a panel on beginner's Adobe Illustrator usage. It was really helpful, and the speaking (apparently the artist behind the webcomic "Real Life", which I've never read) was really funny. Sadly, the dim lights nearly knocked me out for the second half of the panel. >__>; Oh, and before the panel began, a lolsome event happened. Some dude dressed as Link had left his camera on a seat when he changed to a different seat, and when I returned it he went "THANK YOU I LURVE YOUUUU" and hugged me. .___. This kind of behavior is probably standard-issue at a con, but for me it was just hella awkward.

I CAN'T FREAKIN WRITE SMALL ANYMORE! When I try to take notes, it's almost impossible to use neat, small script. I end up using large sloppy cursive since that's the only thing my hand will obey. It's been over a week since I started school, and I've been doing a lot of note taking and very little drawing, but the problem still persists.

Do other owners of large tablets have this problem, or is it just me?

UPDATE: Alright, I realized what was wrong: This only happens during the first class of the day, which also happens to be the only class I regularly take notes in. I am also often fatigued in that class, so I'm pretty sure that's why I can't convince my hand to write small: I'm just too tired.

I got back into Warcraft after poking around the new lore WotLK is bringing in, and have ended up spending hours and hours just wading through WoWwiki. I don't even play WoW, but after WCIII I became really interested in the backstory of the world.

The annoying thing about being addicted to Warcraft is that I can't draw the characters since they're just so horribly complex -__-; Grrr.

aaaaaargh.

oh yeah: HALLOWEEN!

I went with some friends and since we were all high school age, it was just a taaad awkward. The little kids were scared of us (or in one case, laughed at us) and some adults were like -__o; Still, it was really fun and we got enough candy to last the year and then some. What I noticed this year was that there was less exotic candy and more mainstream crap - b/c of the economic downturn? No idea.

I went in my ninja costume, which was rather embarrassing since I got over Naruto a while ago.


And now, back to rewriting history essays, finishing Gold Awards and puzzling over how the heck to write fanfiction.

Like, super-psychedelic yumminess. The races were so fun to watch!

Since the base material is from an anime, it's got a sorta cartoony feel too it...nevermind, it's COMPLETELY cartoony, but in a good way. I think this is why it got bad reviews - the reviewers were all old wrinkled critics who have long forgotten their saturday morning cartoon days.

Every time I read something when my mind processes the sentences it goes something like "...this is my terrarium, I have a heat lamp that keeps the temp at 80 F during the day and 70 F at night, the humidity is around 70%, I've got a bunch of fakes leaves and branches in it. I have one WHAT THE FUCK inside, and it sometimes changes color from brown to green and back and everything. Is this normal for WHAT THE FUCKs? I read a bunch of care books about WHAT THE FUCKs but they never said anything about it. I feed it..."

Help! Does anyone know how to treat compaction? I looked all over the web but there is no established treatment or at least I haven't seen one.

Or maybe it's something else I don't know about...

Cage: 10gal glass tank
Substrate: Jungle bedding (coco husk)
Furnishings: 1 half-log and some branches from the garden (cleaned, one seems to be sprouting though...)
Water: Changed daily, treated with water conditioner
Humidity: 70 or so, changes from 50-80
Temp: 78-84
Lighting: 3 sides covered with black plastic, 1 red light bulb above.
Diet: Powdered crickets
Cricket diet: Fluker's Complete Cricket Diet
Handling: 2-3 minutes, every 1-2 days. Clean moist hands
Coloration: Changes between chocolate brown and green. Bought it green, turned brown upon coming home, and just changes randomly daily. Can't figure out what triggers it. But it's been just green since not eating though.
Past events: A week ago or so my frog lunged for a cricket and ended up eating a pretty big piece of coco husk as well.
Anything strange: One tiny dark circle on it's back. Dark brown when the frog is brown and dark green when the frog is lighter green so I think it's just pigments.
Behavior: Started out sleeping under the half log and being lazy at night but has recently started sleeping on the walls and being very active at night (climbing all over the branches)
Cage status: Substrate is cleaned whenever I see frog poo and is turned every now and then. There are a few tiny white mites which I think are harmless from what I've read.
Potential injuries: The frog was really active one night and leapt for the screen at least 3 times, but seemed to be fine every time afterwards.
Random information: Shed his/her skin recently. Did the whole yawning thing and I could see the strip of skin being consumed.

I draw a pic of a friend, and put it up. I include within the screenshot notes that he's blushing because it's cold. Of COURSE, people interpret it the other way. I understand the people who think he looks like a giant in those mountains, that's a perspective problem I wasn't able to fix, but the perversion pisses me off so much. Especially someone else's drawing of a person, submitted soon after, got rave reviews, very little petty criticism, and I doubt they spent over 6 hours on it. Is it because the subject of the drawing was a pretty girl and the pervs were too busy fapping to it?

The next picture I draw will be very, very gruesome. As gruesome as I can get it. Gruesomer than Grueshroom. I do hope that Mr. Basil accepts it- I'm sure a lot of the more mature people on Basil are going to love it.

Other -worthy products I am eyeing:

- Amaco Clay and Craft oven: So that the kitchen does not stink of clay for hours after I bake a batch. And so I can start making some shrinky dinks! However, we already have a new toaster oven that is somewhere in the garage, but I hear this clay and craft oven is much more fit for crafts use. The toaster oven we have right now also doesn't have temp settings. The clay and craft one costs $40 though

- Clear embossing powder: To create a SHINEEYYY seal on shrinky dinks.

- Glow Sculpey: So glowing items don't always have to be off-white. This clay comes in other colors as well!

LOVE the story. It has some great voice-acted cutscenes too, some of which are really really sad. The in-game dialouge is HILARIOUS though, it's hard not to grin at the wtf-ry of some of it (There's a part where you think two NPCs are talking about something totally inappropriate, and then realize it's something else entirely. Then there's the drug dealer bit LMAO!). The localization team must have had a lot of fun....

Gameplay is decent, but there are a few glitches. Ally AI is TERRIBLE. The soundtrack is nothing amazing. Multiplayer is surprisingly robust, with it's own play mode and NPCs. You can build up a multiplayer character by yourself, then unleash it when you actually have friends with RoF to play with.

Oh, and Cu Chaspel is soooooo coooooooool. Looks comical at first (My first reaction was ohmygawd Square Enix could do so so much better than the default monstrous-looking guy with glowing red eyes that is just so....blah...and WTF PINK HAIR ON A VILLAIN I SHALL GO DIE NOW) but after the first major cutscene where you hear his voice, and see him kill the protagonist's father in a Heart Wrenching Cutscene... *o*

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

yeah...eheheheheh. And in multiplayer mode (which is set the world after story mode ends) he's alive which is really really amazing since my favorite characters always always die (and stay dead). Still a nutcase, too.

This was my first con, so I just went today (Saturday). And now that it's over, I realized I missed so much stuff just by being a shy noob.

What I did:
- Woke up at 5 AM
- Got to the con at about 7
- Changed into my Kabuto cosplay (I don't have a wig, now I have resolved to get one for next time)
- Got breakfast
- Wandered the dealers area for 2 hours, spent $7... THERE WAS NOTHING I WANTED!!!! D= My fandom prefs change really quickly, and usually change to fandoms that are declining in popularity. I couldn't find any good FMA merch, much less anything of my fav character who happens to not be a major character yaddayaddayaddayadda.
- Went to the Ketchup Mania and Ali Project concert. The Ketchup Mania part was rather dull, I fell asleep at some point, but I stayed awake for Ali project since my anime club friends (I went with them) were raving about their awesomeness. It was actually pretty good, though the songs had little impact on me since I didn't know what animes they were done for.
- Wandered over to the Multiplex and watched AMVs.
- Ate dinner
- Watched my sis, and 2 friends (1 guy and 1 girl) hold up a "HUGS PLZ!!! :3) sign near the escalator. It was funny since when the guy was alone, people avoided him, but w/ the girls they got a lot of hugs.
- saw COSPLAY-LESS!
- Went to the RAVE LULZ. lulz since I don't know how to dance at all. I just can't get into the feeling of the dance, so I just stand still. APATHY D:
