okay first off my dad and my bf argue insainly. Not directly at each other, face to face, noooo but to me.... bout each other. This shit makes me want to pull my hair out. Not to mention the fact that my mom is going nutty (not even a joke....)

So friday i fucking blew up from all the fucking shit and packed all my shit to leave. N then everyone was up in arms bout me leaving even tho thats what we had the fucking arguments bout. About me geting thrown out and to go live with my bf if i didnt like it there. Stupid fucking shit

2ndly saturday i find out i'm drop dead broke. i'm just fucking praying for the dam summer college refund to come back like uh NOW! but i have no idea when the fuck that is actually going to happen. maybe sometime in may 14th i guess. i literally live off of whatever my parents throw at me which isnt much at all cuz we are broke :/ .

3rdly (jumping back in time to thursday)
The my car got a flat the day of my college juries (its like art finals. a council of professors judge your work for that semester. so yeah its big) So i wasnt allow to show because i got there late, and without first asking permission i set up late. Okay so i wanted to explain what had happened (even tho i tried calling 2 classmates to help me...they didnt) So when i bump into the assistant dean and told her what happened she asked for proof. I didnt have atm cuz i paid the tire place in cash. So i run back to the place while they are doing someone else's jury, get it and come back and hr before my jury. So when they called me in to that jury and explained my situation. The assistant dean basically looked at my carbon copy receipt and said "this doesnt look like it" n then gave me an ambiguous talk bout the rules and basically walked out. I had to stop them to ask what was going to happen to me. Which was nothing, they wasnt going to look at my work. So when i cry my heart out and go home.
(now jumping foward in time till today)
I find out behind my back without my knowledge my dad twisted the administration's arm to make them give me a jury time for today. So now yeah im geting to show my work but there is like the tension that i can fuckin cut with a knife.... can you say slated judgment about my work. i cant fucking win in this shity situation.

4thly my car broke down last night (sunday). Not at home, no, on the fucking way home... at a light no less. K fair enough. its an old car (its 19yrs old) So i run to the nearest restaurant which just happen to be Denies. And i beg the cashier to use his phone. why? cuz i ran out of mins on my cell and my bf took the last of my change before i left him in downtown. But i digress; And i call my dad. So when he does get there to help me he pulls the whole, 'i told u so' bit. The whole bit bout, 'Its an old ass car. Dnt be out late come home; ur gunna break down in the middle of the night.' So fine fucker u told me so. So we hook up the car to the truck and he does his towing thing. Then at a light he yells to me. Oh my engine light just came on.... (yeah he went there. yeah he was fucking basically saying that he might break down too...) So great im sweating bricks and when we finally get home. Now i had to get the moody bitch Meana (thats my car's name after Winona Ryder's character from BramStroker's Dracula) was a fucking bullshit task if u dont know wat its like to try and turn the wheel of a car thats broke down. Put your car in neutral and try asking a friend to push the car as you try and turn the wheel make a turn. Your gunna be very surprise as to how HARD it is. Back to the story...So my dad gets frustrated and ask a stupid question just to rub it in my face. He goes " so can u turn on the car" and i give him this go to hell look and try it just to be like "uhh obviously it dont work.." and something funny happened.... the fucking car worked and acted like nothing was wrong... i couldn't make this shit up even if i tried. So when i finally get settled at home its like 3 am and im post to wake at 6 am.

NOW TODAY i woke at 6am caught a jitney which is a mini bus. i catch it and i get to the college at 7:41am and i wait sitting my little fat booty on the floor in front of the office until 9:13am before i even get to see a dean. And the rest is history.

So if your wondering wats going on, why i havnt been on why am i making no progress on commissions, uploading art, or sending out payments. You can now have a idea of the of bullshit im wading through right now. And i guarantee you i got a hole in my shit boots!! Mind you this is only like 5 days, and this is all because of finals......

I said all of that to say this I'M SORRY BEAR WITH ME I'M WORKING SHIT OUT! as best i can!!!!!!!!!!

To those who are “seeking artists”, let me ask you; How many people do you know, personally, with the talent and skill to perform the services you need? A dozen? Five? One? …none?

Would you look him in the eye, with a straight face, and tell him that his compensation would be the ability to have his work shown to others as you drive down the street?

Would you offer a neurosurgeon the “opportunity” to add your name to his resume as payment for removing that pesky tumor? (Maybe you could offer him “a few bucks” for “materials”. What a deal!)

Would you be able to seriously even CONSIDER offering your web hosting service the chance to have people see their work, by viewing your website, as their payment for hosting you?

If you answered “yes” to ANY of the above, you’re obviously insane. If you answered “no”, then kudos to you for living in the real world.

But then tell me… why would you think it is okay to live out the same, delusional, ridiculous fantasy when seeking someone whose abilities are even less in supply than these folks?

Graphic artists, illustrators, painters, etc., are skilled tradesmen. As such, to consider them as, or deal with them as, anything less than professionals fully deserving of your respect is both insulting and a bad reflection on you as a sane, reasonable person. In short, it makes you look like a twit.

A few things you need to know;

1. It is not a “great opportunity” for an artist to have his work seen on your car/’zine/website/bedroom wall, etc. It IS a “great opportunity” for YOU to have their work there.

2. It is not clever to seek a “student” or “beginner” in an attempt to get work for free. It’s ignorant and insulting. They may be “students”, but that does not mean they don’t deserve to be paid for their hard work. You were a “student” once, too. Would you have taken that job at McDonalds with no pay, because you were learning essential job skills for the real world? Yes, your proposition it JUST as stupid.

3. The chance to have their name on something that is going to be seen by other people, whether it’s one or one million, is NOT a valid enticement. Neither is the right to add that work to their “portfolio”. They get to do those things ANYWAY, after being paid as they should. It’s not compensation. It’s their right, and it’s a given.

4. Stop thinking that you’re giving them some great chance to work. Once they skip over your silly ad, as they should, the next ad is usually for someone who lives in the real world, and as such, will pay them. There are far more jobs needing these skills than there are people who possess these skills.

5. Students DO need “experience”. But they do NOT need to get it by giving their work away. In fact, this does not even offer them the experience they need. Anyone who will not/can not pay them is obviously the type of person or business they should be ashamed to have on their resume anyway. Do you think professional contractors list the “experience” they got while nailing down a loose step at their grandmother’s house when they were seventeen?

If you your company or gig was worth listing as desired experience, it would be able to pay for the services it received.
