Does anybody know of any good monthly art magazines? And by art I mean...pop art...kinda...more comic art really. Pop art too...just the art. I don't want a comic magazine that just has comics in it, I want to see beautiful paintings and read interviews with artists and stuff...anybody know where I could start? Not just anime mind you, western comics as well.

I've decided to take up this as a way to push me back into activity. I'm being pathetic again, sorry guys. My deviations are stacking up and comments are weeks old...sorry. I'll get to them...maybe.

Here's how this works:
You can take up a slot if you want, I give you a free sketch, but in return, you've got to put this in your journal so other people can get free sketches from you. But I believe if you're already doing it you're in the clear, you don't have to add another ten to your list or anything...yeah...so feel free guys. It'll be good for me. I'll draw almost anything. Request something gory maybe...for halloween or something. I haven't done as much blood as I might've liked to. My gallery is way too cutesy as is. :3

I don't think I emphasized this enough, if you want to be on the list, you must also do this event in your own journal. That way, other people can get a sketch off of you. Not to discourage you guys or anything, I mean, it is only a sketch...

I started my art and college algebra classes yesterday, the art will be a blast, the math will be...math. I think I'll live though.

If anything you'll probably see speed paints coming in from me, I'd like to get more experienced in doing that...maybe some stuff that I do for the art class as well...I'm so excited!
I hope it's not cheating to have some of these 100 pics to be a little sketchy? Maybe not quite super polished? Yeah. I'll try to if I get something good, but I have a feeling I won't have anything that good very often, that I really want to finish it up good.

Remember me begging for a job not too long ago? Yeah, well, as it turns out, now, at the end of the summer, I might finally be getting the job at Target. X) 'twill be beneficial for me, what with a discount, I like the stuff at Target, and it's a good location, so that's cool.

On the very not cool spectrum of things, I have a sucky story to tell.
So on Saturday night I'm sitting at my pc, drinking some orange soda. As I'm drinking it, I think "wow, my tooth is really sensitive to the cold of this soda," and that was all.
The next day however, my tooth is so sensitive to cold and hot, it's painful if I breath too sharply, the cold air stings.
So I go to the dentist today, sit in the chair for a very long time, they give me some local anesthesia, then the dentist starts drilling, I'm fine with that, I don't have problems with needles or anything, but it's REALLY cold, so he gives me some more, stronger stuff, this is fine, but I have to wait around as this stuff takes effect. Which basically means me spending a lot longer in the dentist chair than I originally intended.
So after hour and a half, I get out, found out that I just got a root canal (I thought that drill was abnormally large.) and that I have to go back, because they actually only got about two thirds of it. The deal is, I got some sort of infection in the root of my tooth, and apparrently, I have really deep roots, like, so deep they can't fit them on the x-rays (believe me, we tried five times to get it all, didn't happen.) and all along, there was this infection brewing, and it only now hits me.
To make this entry a little more concise, I came home, seriously annoyed by all this, my entire mouth and nose area numbed, that was at 3.30, now it's six hours later, and the stuff is just finally worn off...gah...I feel like...blah.

And to end this entry on a good note, I got a great book, io: art of the wired. Has the most amazing Asian pop artists you ever will see, including everyone's favorite Kim Hyung-Tae. It has some neat interviews as well, really inspiring stuff, I hope to learn some tricks from this stuff...it's pretty much best book I've gotten in a while.

Hope you guys are all enjoying the rest of your summers, I wish you all the best of luck in avoiding the dentist as much as possible...I swear...I've seen way more of that 28 lb. bass, caught April 8, 2004 at Norfolk Lake, which is now hanging on the wall in that office then I ever intended...maybe I'll try memorizing a different plaque next time.

Next! Uber props to Italy for taking the win at the world cup. I knew they could do it, just wasn't sure if they would, since they were just so tired, and lost a lot of momentum because of it. I didn't like seeing it come down to penalty kicks, but I'm still satisfied with the outcome...although the ref's call on offsides for their one goal was questionable...that was really tight...in my book, they won twice. :3

I promise some finished pieces this week. Thanks for enduring my laziness...I just need to get inspired...yeah.
You might see some of a new technique I'm trying, since I don't have Painter, and the free trials...just don't work for some reason, I'm going to try to learn painting in Photoshop. So I'll be going through quite a bit of customization. You guys might see a bit of that this week...

In other news, I'll probably be putting up something new this week...probably a new character. Or maybe I'll explore a bit more of Megan Curtis' life and eviroment...I've never gone into much depth with my characters. I've never really dug deep and come up with a real solid character...I've also been thinking of ressurecting some old characters, giving them a new look and stuff. Maybe just to show some progress. Make me feel less like I'm doing nothing. X)

And finally, I'm open for any sort of art trade, request, commission, anything. Especially commission, because using my art to make money sounds particularly fine right now. X) Nah, you guys don't have to pay...if you're willing to come to me for art, that's enough. Maybe you could throw my name around instead of paying me, I'd like to get different opinions from different kinds of people. Critiques and stuff...yeah. :3 If I can get a boost in improvement, that's way better compensation than a few bucks. Or at least it'll be worth more in the long run.

Music is consuming my life right now, with concerts, lessons, a recital and an audition. D: Yeah. It's not going to end until June either...so yeah. It's not like nonstop craziness, so I'll post...probably. But it's just gonna be me splitting my time between drawing and practicing and what work I can get. :3

Also! Metroid Prime, great game. Got it from EBGames pre-played for $5. Great deal. really nice visuals and enormous bosses. I never played the SNES Metroids (was there more than one?) it wasn't a NES game was it?....I've forgotten. Anyways. Yeah. Fun.
It's also trying to eat up the time I should be spending drawing and practicing...I shouldn't have bought it at a time like this. X) Oh well...

I bought Star Wars Episodes I and III, more for the special features than anything else. :3 I have the Art of Star Wars Episodes I and III books so it's so awesome to see the concept artists at work, Iain McCaig, Sang Jun Lee, Feng Zhu, and all the rest. There's dissappointingly little footage of it, just the web documentaries and stuff...still good. Oh, and the actual film is good too. :3

This journal was mainly to cover up for my ther whiney journal. Now I'm all good.

Playing more Megaman Anniversary Collection now, I had taken a break. And now I'm on to Megaman 4. Ahh, the pixelated graphics. So...old. Yeah. That's what's happening with me. Plus bunches of drawing. Got PSP 6 installed again. Thank God. I'm not sure I could've gone on much longer without a decent imaging program. So now I'm all up and running art wise. Nothing more to say

Things are winding down pretty nicely for me I guess. Well, kinda. I kinda had a rough week so far.

Monday I had a band concert, all went well there.

Tuesday I got the stomach flu, needless to say, I threw up. Not fun. I had taken multiple naps that day so I couldn't really sleep that night so I was eating a popsicle and wanted to put it in the freezer. Stood up. Fainted. Fell down. Chipped one tooth really bad and knocked off half of another. That hurt.

I went to the dentist last night and got some caps or something put on so now they're pretty much normal. Kinda hurt a little when I put pressure on tho. If they start hurting I might have to get a root canal. Eesh. The whole time I was in the dentist's office I was thinking about Weird Al's "Cavity Search" and Bill Cosby's stand up called "Dentist" It was funny.

But it's kinda weird, even tho all that has happened. This week hasn't been so bad. Maybe just because it's so close to Christmas. Whatever the deal is s'all good. So that's my update. And it's high time I had an update too. I'm gonna be in 9th grade now, whoopee! Agree or not, I think my drawing skills have improved over the summer a bunch! And I'm gonna keep practicing until I rule the world! MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! XD Just joshing. Actually I'll probably keep drawing until I get decently good. Then I'll keep drawing until I get decently good level 2, etc., etc.
I need to work on that CGing tho. My skills in that department are definately, poor. The thing that sucks is, it takes so freakin LONG to do any pictures! -_- It's discouraging really. Ah well...Coloring is important cuz I gots to know how to shade real well. It's key, light and shadow. So confusing.

Well, that's all I've got to say. I'ma gonna keep chuggin' along for now. Later!

All in all, my point is that I might not get alot of work up here because I'm tied up right nows. And I kinda took a break from drawing over the weekend and I'm kicking myself for that. Any day that I do not draw for at least 2 hour is a bad day. XP

On the good news side of things. My 15GB Dell DJ mp3 player is finally working with my pc. It took a new hard drive and alot of time but it's finally working. Now I can have ALL the music I want, that I have. Including a bunch of remixes from one of my fave websites.... [link] You gotta go there, it's like a buncha people, who take video game music, and make remixes of em. Tonsa cool stuff. Check em out and tell them what an awesome site they've got going or something like that. They don't just remix it into techno stuff either, some of it's jazzy, others are more classical. And sometimes they have rock stuff. And definately VERY cool Sonic the hedgehog stuff on there. More of the first 3 games tho.

I'm feeling a might depressed, and have been for a while. Which is weird for me, which those of you who know me prolly know. I feel like there's just so much ahead and on top of me I can't enjoy anything good. These including band concerts and solo competitions and soccer. Don't get me wrong, I love these things but I just can't do them well. I think it's because of the stress. Which is obvious. I just can't enjoy things. Like take for instance this major thing. My birthday, it's this Saturday. I'm turning 14. And I just can't enjoy that fact. I've got all this trumpet practicing that I know I should do and stuff. Not to mention my confirmation at church. I have quizzes for that. And we have to study a buncha stuff and it's really bogging me down.

So if you don't see any art, that's why...
