Okami has been out for several months now, and in my opinion is one of the best games to be released for the PS2 in its dying years. However, this love for Okami is not shared by many, as its lackluster sales sealed the fate of its creator, Clover Studio. The combined problem of release delays, limited budget, and a less-than-enthusiastic fan base banished Clover to the leagues of Enron.
It makes me so sad to think about this, because Okami was a great game. Clover's bankruptcy also closed the book on the argument of whether "Games are art". Well, apparently in the eyes of the majority of the world, games are not considered works of art, and should not be developed as such. However, I think different. Who is to stop a visionary from releasing a great game such as Okami? I ask you, while i add "Art and beauty are in the eye of the beholder." This world, especially in the game industry, is so biased and so fixated on the certain set of standards on which games are based. You know what I say? Screw these standards! So many game companies are hopefully glued to them, despite the fact that these standards bring about nothing more than mediocre games. Hell, I saw numerous game review for Okami all reach above an 8.0! X-Play gave it a 5 out of 5! There is so much innovation and uniqueness in it, yet it is overlooked by critics and consumers because it doesn't involve sex and/or violence.

I hate spending day after day from 7:30 till 3:00 in classes every damn day. Then, come the weekend, I spend my entire time doing homework. Me thinks its been about 4 months since I ever touched a console game system (not including Portables, those are easy to smuggle into the bathroom or hide under my desk...*snicker*)

Anyway, I'm gettin' tired of school, and who doesn't at some point. But somehow, this site relieves so much of my stress. I'm not talkin' cheesy for the sake of dA, I'm serious.

I don't usually have much to talk about. Today's no exception. I just REALLY had and urge to write. So at the expense of your time, I'll keep going. Psyche! I've always had a thing for Old Hot Rods. This car is a 1972 Buick Skylark GS Stage 1. The engine is a 455 Big Block (a.k.a. - ass load o' horsepower!). It's in slightly rough condition, no paint (just the primer coat), some rust, one of the rear tires has a 13" cut from pressing into the wheel well cover. Sorry, I'm obcessing because this is the f***in' coolest car I've ever seen!

P.S. Well, I finally saw United 93 last night and 9:40. I knew that Muslim extremists had hijack 4 planes, but this just pissed me off. I swear, I wanted to kill someone after seeing that account of Flight 93. Those people were able to stop the terrorist occupants from getting the plane to its destination. I did and thought things in the theatre that would be better left unsaid. Between flicking off the screen, and darn near screaming expressions of my sheer hate in the middle of the theatre...well, lets leave it at that. I was pissed, nuff said.
