But a bit stressful what with failing at Math, trying to cram classes so I can graduate earlier, finding another job in about a month and saving up to buy me some new lenses, flashes and strobes.
So, other than the normalities (if that's even a word because my Mac is telling me it's spelled wrong...) of the everyday, life is bitchin'.

I've heard many things about it--like a lot of people don't like it and a lot more LOVE it. I'm thinking I'll like it, because one of my best guy friends is really picky in what movies he watches and we share pretty much the same tastes. He apparently loved it, even more so than the Dark Knight.
Now, the Dark Knight is a highly acclaimed movie, and how can one NOT like that movie? Seriously.
So...Since, he found that Watchmen was better than the Dark Knight (aka the cinematography, use of colors and apparently the soundtrack was amazing), I'm pretty sure I'll love this movie as well, haha.
Plus, what little research I've done on it (I've never actually read the comics...but I'm itching to now >_>;), I'll be able to understand more of what's going and blahblahblah.

So yeah. Watchmen is on my to-do list for this month. Hopefully this coming weekend, if not sooner. *crosses fingers*


Also, I was thinking during one of my classes earlier today, specifically math class, that I might make a separate account for all my drawings/art. I've been drawing a lot more as of late, and I feel that the drawings/CGs I post on this account kind of clash with the photographs. Amirite or no? Oh well. We shall see. I want to draw more first just to make sure I won't just make the account and then never use it, haha.

Did so much stuff with the girlfriends while I was up there, and also did some thinking.


I really want to move there. I mean, I love the beach, and it's literally like, 5 minutes away from it. 15 minutes away from Morro Bay, and 20 minutes away from Pismo. If I got any closer, I'd be looking at half a million dollar apartments on the beach front, haha.
So...Since I want to move there, I'd have to go to school there, if I can. So I'm looking into attending CalPoly SLO. It seems like they have a pretty decent Art&;Photography program, so no complaints there :]
We shall see, haha.
If all else fails, I'll just stick with CSUN and move to SLO after I graduate Northridge, lulz.

So! Haven't updated this in quite a while :]
How's everyone been doing?! How was your Christmas/New Years? Hopefully nothing too exciting seeing as then I might get sad and slit my wrists for being a boring emo child. Or not. But still.

Christmas was okay on this end of the monitor. It really, to be quite honest, did NOT feel like Christmas at all. For me at least. I mean, I kinda got the vibe a tiny bit every so often, but no matter how many decorations were up around the city, I seriously felt like Christmas was just another day in the life. Except, y'know, with presents involved. Which was cool. I just kind of regret not celebrating it more like I should have.
Things I got: Two reflectors (sweeeeeet <3 ), Wide angle Lens with Macro, cute sunglasses, couple articles of clothing, some giftcards, Oreo Cakesters & Twix (yummeh) and other stuff. Haha.

As far as New Years goes, I, of course, partied it up with one of my really good friends, Twigg. Definitely a night to remember, and I think that's how a New Years should be. Not necessarily always getting drunk and whatnot, but something that should just be soooo far out and simply amazing. Something to remember. I mean, you only get to ring in that particular New Year once : P Might as well make it count, haha.

Soooo....I got around to reading the new teenage sensation of "Twilight" 2 days ago, haha. Just finished it earlier tonight whilst waiting to see the midnight showing of it too, lulz.

AMAZING BOOK. I'm in love with it and can't wait to read the others.
The movie was pretty cool too--but since everything was still fresh in my mind, I realized everything that was totally wrong with it, as well, haha.
If I hadn't read the book first, this movie was have been awestrikingly amazing. It was great--but not half as good as it should have been D:
Which was understandable since they had to condense 500 pages worth into 2 and a half hours of Edward/Robert Pattinson goodness.
Who was totally hawt. And Jasper too <3


So it made up for everything, lol.

School's okay....I have a feeling I'm failing a class--which is my fault because halfway through semesters, I tend to just slack. I give up because I get so tired and done with it, or even just get this mindset that I think I'm doing okay, so I have room to slack off.
Not good >_> So please pray I pass all my classes and that I actually get some diligence between now and next semester. I need to get out of here, out of where I live. I don't know how, seeing as America's economy is in the shitter at the moment, but hey. God provides :] So I'll just go with the flow for now!

Uhhhh.....Nothing else really new. Halloween was pretty snazzy. Didn't go trick or treating though :[
Oh! And I got to play the new Guitar Hero 4 a couple times this week :D

Ani-Magic/Autumn Dream '08

Soooooo....I just got back from my town's anime convention--Ani-Magic/Autumn Dreams :D
I only give it two names because it used to be called Ani-Magic, but they changed it to Autumn Dream. Bleh.
It's a cool name, don't get me wrong. But I was so used to calling it Ani-Magic, lol.
Oh well. On with my tale.

So it was a two day thing, Saturday and Sunday, instead of the normal 3 day shindig, and it was amazing. A bit small and bunched up into one giant room. I didn't spend a bunch of money as I thought I would--though I found a new love: Ramune. Haha. Oh, and Milk flavored Pocky :3
That stuff is amaaaaaziiiiiiing. <3

Anyways, haha. I dressed up as Utena Tenjou on Saturday and Gothic Lolita today.
(I'll post pics up within the next few days :3 )
And I must say, I was really stressin' that my Utena costume wouldn't come out so well--but as it turns out, it was awesome! Everyone loved it :D Even I did, haha. So I must thank my mommy for doing such a wonderful job on re-vamping the costume (as it was pretty shitty when I originally bought it xP ) and everything. God knows I can't sew for anything :P Haha.
I made some new friends, and re-acquainted with the old, which was great. And I danced at the Rave, which was freakin' SWEET. It was kinda gross though because these two guys were hitting on me and my friend Amber and their breath reeked of alcohol ><
Oh well. It was great to say the least :3
Hopefully next year it will return to three days instead of two and we'll have more dealers and more room to spread our nerdom around x]

Soooo.....Who did watch the season premier of "Heroes" last night??? :D
Omggg, I was so excited, you don't even know, haha.
I won't even go into detail about what happened in the countdown to the premier, because, well, it was rather boring, but hey.
I quite enjoyed it, and I must say, Sylar looks as dashing as ever ;]
And I was all like "OMGWTF-eth?!" when managed to sneak into Claire's house and whatnot and poke her brain. (Which actually confused me a bit too, because all throughout the series, I was under the impression that he ate the brains. Apparently not? We shall see >_> ) But chyeah! He totally didn't eat her brain, but instead, poked and prodded it until he gained her ability. Then left here there, as if nothing happened. Crazy.

Also....The whole Niki/Tracy thing, now? Augh. Is it actually Niki, just with Amnesia from the explosion in New Orleans? Or is it her *dead* sister? Bleh.
Peter Petrelli is pissing me off now, too. And I'm left wondering about his newfound love from Ireland--though since he changed some things in the past *aka present*, the whole future and them being together will never happen then, yeah?
And poor Hiro :[ I'm pretty certain he'll be the villain instead of Ando, which gains this awesome super saiyan(sp?) power apparently, haha.
What's with the dreams Mrs. Mother Patrelli is having too??? Gah. So many questions....I can't wait until future episodes! :XD:



In other news, I had a job interview yesterday for Spencer's. It's a seasonal part-time job, but hopefully I'll get it. I need a job uber badly T^T
I technically have one at the moment through a friend's dad (I work for him?), and I spent, like, 3 hours today going through the Yellow Pages, typing every single restaurant down in our Valley and calling/looking each and every one of them up to see if they have a website, haha. Fun stuff right there, yo.
Oh well. A job is a job, and I'll have Christmas money for family and friends :]
Plus money for the upcoming Anime Convention (Ani-Magic/Autumn Dream)! ^^ (I'll post pics of my cosplay up sometime before the convention, which is October 16th & 17th :] )

School sucks so far, too. Did my first speech in Comm 101 class today on a fencing tournament I was in back in my Senior Year of highschool. It always amazes me that when I practice alone, I do fine, but when I actually go up in front of the class and recite it, everything takes a turn for the worse ><
Meh. Only a couple months left then I'll be done xD

I recently saw the DeathNote live action movie in the Cinemark theatre right by my house with :iconsakurablossom4:. It was pretty snazzy :]
Not too big on dubbed things as it takes away from the original lustre of the whole thing, and it distracts me from the plot (only because usual dubs kinda suck >_> )
The voice acting was okay for the most part, but admittedly I tried hard not to make fun of a few parts.
All in all, it was good :] I suppose I'll start watching the anime now XP

On another note, school is officially done, until June 16th at least--I'm taking a summer Photography class. Thank God. And I'm pretty sure I actually passed my classes as well. Huzzah.
Oh, and it's almost my birthday! (Next Thursday, haha.) Yay for being nineteen. One year closer to twenty-one ;]

Oy vey. It's waaaay too cold for my tastes at the moment :/

Sorry for the lack of updating the journal, though I suppose it's better than spamming your inboxes with ten new journals a day X] There's always a plus to everything, haha.
To start off, I got a new Fisheye lens for my camera! ^3^ Uber excited about that, so look forward, or dread even, some updates in the future with super wide-angle pitchurs, lolz.
Also I've recently become obsessed with the TV show Heroes >_> (Bet ya couldn't tell by the Meme I did recently? Haha.) It's a badass show too O_o Never really expected it to be that good, but now I can't until the Fall for Volume 3 to come out :3
Also I want to focus a lot more on my art and drawing and the like. I feel like I haven't really given that part of me that much attention in quite awhile (like about 2 or so years--hence why it's not uber good, haha.) And I want to get better at it, so practicepracticepractice! Expect to see alot more of my drawings and whatnot ^^
And puhleaaase, critique me/tell me what I need to improve on. It's nice to hear suggestions and the like from fellow artists :]

Oh, and thanks again for the music suggestions in the last journal as well! ^^
I love hearing new voices and all that jazz :3

(Yes. I saw it a couple nights ago with my beau. Heh.)
He didn't like it as much, which I can understand seeing as it left us (along with everyone else) hanging in what happens next.
The camera work/whole movie made a lot of people dizzy as well, but it's kind of expected seeing as it's supposed to be a home movie, haha.
When's the last time you watched one of your home movies and it was perfectly shot without going all over the place etc? I thought so.

Still an amazing movie though :] One of my new favorites. I liked how they incorporated a bit of humor into it, but still pretty scary O_o
Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the whole movie XD (Which rarely happens, haha.)
So definitely kudos to that! I'm really hoping they make a sequel :3
Dunno how they'd do it, but I'm sure they can :]


On another subject, I need music.
Anyone got any good suggestions to what I should hook myself on? :]
I honestly don't care of the genre AS LONG as it isn't Country, Folk or really irritating rap/hip-hop.

How was everyone's Christmas and/or New Years?
Any parties go on, or did you spend it with a M*A*S*H* Marathon? (Just kidding. Unless you did...Then...No comment.)

If you so care to know, both holidays were quite enjoyable for me :]
Christmas was lovely with two new camera lenses, a ring/macro flash and a tripod ^3^
"So why the lack of new Deviations, Josie?!" you ask.
Well...My answer is....*drool*.
Or lack of inspiration, heh. And laziness. And no time.
My Resolutions were to be diligent, responsible, draw more, clean out my car, etc. The third kinda sorta happened so far--just my scanner hasn't been working lately -_-
Everything else is in the works ^^;;

BUUUUT, I've been asked by a friend to help her build her a portfolio for modeling, so I should definitely have some pics of her up soon :]
And as soon as I buy a proper lens adapter for my macro flash thingy, I'll be experimenting with that as well.

In other updates, I saw the Juno movie a few days ago :3
Needless to say, it was AWESOME. I love it ^^ And the soundtrack that comes with it.
I shan't go deep into the plot or anything, but I must say that I totally recommend seeing it :]
It's a bit romantic in a sarcastic, smart-ass and awkward sort of way--but still. Anyone who's anyone will/would love this movie. Unless you lack a sense of humor.
If that's the case, then go die in a hole somewhere.

Sorry about that guys ^^;
Life has been pretty busy lately over here on my side of the computer screen.

So, since I've lacked in not only logging in, uploading any deviations or even posting a journal, here are a few updates for you all in case you're interested in the wonderful life of Josie:


So, as of Monday, December 18th, I have been utterly and happily taken by a wonderful guy by the name of Joey :]
I won't go into too much detail, but I'll more than likely post some pictures of us up on here as soon as I get the urge to take pictures again.
Which brings me to my next update, in that I haven't really been feeling rather "inspired" as of late to do any art of any sort :[
I have a few pics I need to post of Jessica, but that's about it as of late ><
Maybe it's the stress of trying to find the perfect present for all of my friends in a tight income? Who knows XP
But, after tomorrow, I'm hoping that things will pick up :]
I have a few ideas on what to take pics of and who to take them with, as well as a few drawing ideas--including one with Kaora (my character) and Rei ( :iconohimseeinstars:'s original character) ^^

In other news, it's freakin' windy and cold as.....well, not quite hell, but pretty damn cold. Christmas is tomorrow, and I'm hella excited, but disappointed in myself at the same time because I didn't get as much presents for my parents as I did for my beau and my friends >_>
*sulks*
Oh well...Lesson learned. Next year I'll get mis padres something totally worth conceiving me in the first place (lawl).

The days have finally passed and brought me Ani-Magic 2007 :]
Nothing too big of course, considering I come from a slightly small town--BUT STILL.

Soooo....As I was saying, the Anime Convention (Ani-Magic) is this weekend (Friday-Sunday) annnnnd I'm excited to say that I'll be working there ^^
Not like I haven't before, but it's still an honor--especially since I'll be in Shadow Security, and I have a BAD-ASS cosplay outfit for it :3

Seriously.
What is it called?
I get the jist on pretty much that you can draw on it and it comes up in photoshop or whatever...
But I need full details.
Pleeeeaaaase.
Every detail, including:
-The actual name of it
-The cost
-Does it work for macs?
-How cool is it?
-Easy/hard to understand?
-How to hook it up
-Etc, etc, et-freakin-c.



I really want one. I'm tired of always having to scan my art on the computer and having it come out all shitty-like -_-
Plus I really want to add more of my drawings on here since I haven't done so--and the art that I DO submit on here, kind of sucks.
I know I could do better--but the lack of materials kind of makes it a little harder.
Maybe I'm selfish?
Meh.
Who cares.

It's fun.
Really.
It feels like I never left high school pretty much.
I see a BUNCH of people that I knew and went to school with previously, and I still hang out with pretty much the same crowd that I did in HS.
With a few additions :]
The classes are pretty cool.
English is getting to me at the moment....But, that's pretty much the only class that requires work. Now at least.
Photography is rather fun--the teacher is laid back but up front, and strict at the same time. She's awesome, and a great photographer. (Wow! Who'd a thunk it? She only teaches Photography ;p)

I swear, I'm an idiot sometimes.
*shrugs*


So, college is fun. Fine. Interesting, to say the least :]



Now for everday life:

Again, I was browsing through the wonders of DeviantArt, and felt extremly....what's the word? Insubordinate?
Not quite.
Just.....un-talented, you could say. (*<---lacks good vocabulary*)
I mean...really. So many people have the most beautiful works of art--and competing in the art field is like thrusting yourself out to the lions.
You have to know you'll get noticed before you actually get into it.
Do I make any sense at all....? Augh.

To put it blatantly:
I feel that I suck ;p
My photography skills could SOAR....but, I feel held back. I don't know why.
Maybe that I lack the proper environment and more models. Maybe even imagination.
I mean, it's hard enough to live out in a desert-wasteland with NO WHERE to take pictures without having crap in the background ;p
Plus, when you have a few select of the same models, always modelling for you--it gets old.
No offense--I love my models ^^
But, I need to expand as well. People get bored at looking at the same people all the time. Same as looking at the same old portrait picture, but with a different person.

I have to expand...Not be afraid. But it's hard because I lack SOMETHING. Something that will make me stand out of the crowd of every other talented person on the interwebtron T_T

I'm going to sound emo-ish, but I really love the works of LaraFaerie (Lara Jade) And Alexander Denomay (adenomay). They're awesome.
Every person I watch/add on here is amazing, and makes me feel like I could soooo much better, but feel insignificant in the same sense.
Damn you, talented people.
I'm jealous :]
Seriously.
But I love you and every bit of your talent. You seriously make my world go around--because sometimes I doubt that there are truly talented people in this world. Until I log onto here, at least.
Haha.



Well, that was my emo-give-me-a-confidence-boost-and-self-absorbed-journal entry.

So, being as this is my first ever journal entry, I must apologize for actually poiting that little fact out in the first place. And I must apologize for not uploading any pictures as of late.
I'm never on DA anymore and it makes me pretty sad.
Not that I've even been "hardcore" or a regular on this site anyways, I feel like I should be. (I'm usually always on Flickr.)
But then there are those little problems that I feel that I'm not that good enough to even post on here at all ^^;

Everyone on here is so talented, and you all put my work to shame.
Which I applaud you for--because rarely I ever find someone so artistically inclined in my area. (With the exception of a few :] )

But I still feel slightly pathetic for even posting my stuff on here.
But it's chill :]
I love coming on here and looking at everyone's work--they all inspire me and urge me to do my best in the fields of art that I love ^^





And so, now that I've gotten that cleared up, I promise to come on here more often :]
Annnnnd....that's about it.
