This time I worked on a tribute to one of my fave serial - Carnivàle - and mixed it with some magik-gipsy-fair atmosphere.

which I'm pretty satisfied with.

The main idea was to create a concept gallery, with more than one session, based on post-punk, cabaret and circus-like visions. SOULS AND SURREAL, featuring the amazing Francesco/Uriel and the wonderful Sabrina/Madonna Frida is the first realization. Besides my models, the hugest thanks go to Yumi/Simona Fossi for her TERRIFIC make-up art and precious setting assistance: her collaboration really gave a spin to the whole work.

Hope you enjoy the shots as we enjoyed making them: they are a lot, I know (... well, as usual) but you don't have to like them all, as each of them can tell a story by itself and symbolise something...

This is a little showcase for the calendar I realized for and with my friends of Dark Eden Gothic shop (and many human and animals friends as models) in order to support homeless animals rescue in the Tuscan territory.

I'm putting down more ideas than I can actually work on, it looks like I have projects until next year!

I'm also planning to re-do some shots I did in my very past, hopefully I can use more skills and better props now. It will be funny to see how my perspectives change in time.

The main focus, however, is on finishing up with "Enfasi/Sine Substantia", and also bringing to some end the old project "Feet on the ground". I'll be also working on a 2009 calendar no profit for an animalistic association. We are still in the pre-phase (finding models/finding setting/finding stories for each month) but the premises are exciting: we have very goods "material" to work with.

This is just a little better than MySpace, only because the images resolution is better and your works do not look crappy and blurry.

Thank you could also add I'm in my "lemon-period" and I just wanna either kill someone or go on holiday for 3/4 months from tomorrow. But this is personal. Too much pressure around to think about anything just for art's sake.

* It's a beautiful photo, and the model gets compliments because he/she is beautiful;

* It's an awful photo, and it's all up to the artist: he/she is an asshole without talent;

* It's a beautiful photo, and you get compliments on the dress, the make-up, the accessories, and on other things which has no real meaning for the work itself (also "nice title!" or "I love the song that inspired you!" are on the list of the most common clever comments);

* It's a photo, and you will get the most absurd lectures on it, as if you had to be analysed by the works you do;

* It's a photo, and people will have to say they wouldn't have shot it like this, but like that, with another model, another setting, another light... another photo, in the end;

I think all this devouring widely-spread need of being "artistical" is a clear sign that our society is pretty rotten to the core, and people find an "escape" trying to be talented.

I'm into it, the first one matching this definition.

I also believe that an attempt to be artistical is always better than gettin' dumm watching TV and talking nothing. But it's funny we are now all photographers, musicians, writers, actors... With all this arts flowing around, why is the world still dacaying?

Let's be honest, I'm just tired of following up these kind of web-things as if they were marketing.
DA, Myspace, websites, blogs should be just fun, or just little more than that.
I do not post comments or give my favs just to be returned.
I'm not good at this kind of "screaming-for-attraction". I just can't, you can see it from the result.
I still like this place, especially when I discover those pieces of art that make my heart throbs. Something you cannot "buy" with any kind of favour, it's just free for you to see, and it's marvellous.

So do not think I'm scorning the community. I'm here when I feel I can give something. In this moment I've got tons of materials and ideas, they are just not ready yet...

The idea was born from an object related to my job ("heabox" is the main part of an electromedical system, where all the data and functions are contained), and also from the sense of fear/solitude towards life and its emptyness, superficiality, violence.
You need to wear a mask, a good one, something protecting you from the outside. You say you put your head inside a box when you don't want to see, hear, get in touch with the outside.

Have a nice 2008, pretty outside any box, really in touch with what you want/love.

One of the next projects I'm working on involves feet. Feet as pieces of flesh, feet as metaphore.

(... by the way, if there are models who would like to lend their feet for art's sake...)

My work with Celeste inspired by the song "One for the road" by
FRU!T is now online.

I worked so well with Celeste, under many points of views, and I'm pretty satisfied by the result. Th effect is less "gothish" than my usual style, but it was fun to switch mood for a while.

Not a very good day, today.
Sometimes it seems you have to be reminded that life is just a swing, in the end. I find a little bit of "peace of mind" through my little artworks (which, as a friend of mine used to say, it's always better than finding a PIECE of your mind scattered somewhere).

I decided to upload my new gallery today, first because I needed to spend some time, then because I have a wish in my heart: that love will always, somehow, be a part of my life. I think I rarely have the strenght to admit it.

I'd like to have a magic wand like that sunflower: and with that make my life simply... lighter.

It seems the huge work with editing all my London pics is almost over. I'm eager for new stuff, but I try to disciplinate, or I'll just keep having tons of new unedited photos which remain on my PC for ages.

I know I'll be pretty naughty and post some of my best Highgate's shots to attract your attention. I bet playing the Highgate's card is a bit "dirty", because Highgate is sooooo f***ing goth! Don't blame my lack of originality, please, I just couldn't help capturing all those angels and tombstones!

I'm gonna say something very stupid but... yeah... Art needs time. If you create... or if you just contemplate. You need your time to reach the core of Art. That's why I'm a worst "street photographer": because I hardly feel I have time to take that picture the way I'd like to.
Time, again, is the great Enemy, and a great Gift-giver. Supposed you master your minutes. Take a moment to dedicate yourself to appreciate or create. Or whatever. Art is a bit of a Zen Philosophy, in a way. In any case, you will always have many more opportunities to rush and be in a hurry than to meditate.
