We Presented ours on Monday. Our proposal was a variant of Snakes and Laddersthat revolved around collecting sweets. It's called 'Scavenger', and we proposed a 'Trick or Treat' edition because it's so close to halloween. As for how it all went? Well, keep a passive eye out in board game stores. Our game has a chance of getting made apparently. Our tutor liked out proposal and is going to help us prepare for professional pitching to proper companies. Now, it's on to the Iphone project, where we design a game, solo, for the Iphone.

So, I'm back. Kinda. I'm actually at home again, went back for a monthly visit. I still don't have internet at my house (which is the schmex to be honest.) but I'm going to get that sorted. After tomorrow, I shall be gone again, only to lurk when no one is looking in the library/computer rooms.

Anyway, University is going pretty good. It's daunting to say the least, and it still does shake me from time to time (Realisation of what it is I'm doing) but it's going good. We're making board games in groups at the moment and I'll probably post some of the stuff I make when it's ready. Hopefully it's good enough for the assessment.

I did plan to say a lot, but I forgot most of it. Oh well. It wasn't important. Still, incredably late Dragon picture is late but it's up. That's important... ish.

Well, in 16 hours the first day of the rest of my life will begin. I'm moving out tomorrow to the house I've mentioned in a few previous entries. It's bloody exciting, but daunting at the same time. More so than actually applying to university. Still, I'm moving...

I don't think I'm going to have internet for a while when I do move. I don't know how long I'm going to be offline for, but don't expect anything from me for at least a week. Perhaps I'll update in three days though, maybe it'll be a month. I just don't know.

Oh, sorry there is no Dragonart update that I said I might be able to do. I simply haven't had the time to work on it. It'll get done though. I'll ambush you all with it.

... I feel it. I hate being reliant on others, yet, at the moment I have to be. Now, I wouldn't overley mind if they actually did what they were supposed to do, like, chech their voicemail for a request to send references that are needed for my bloody tenancy application to be approved. Ugh... I move in less than 5 days (on Saturday) and I'm SO CLOSE to getting everything sorted. The reference gets sent, I get sent my lease, I sign and return it, I get my key when me and Dad pay the last payment on saturday. It's simple. yet I'm so bloody far away from it. D<.

Gone is my fear about losing my house place, in comes the anger about people not doing their part too.

Anger aside, I've begun preparations for packing. That begins with clearing out my old closets and wardrobes. I found TONS of old crap from my old days at school. Some of it is pre-millenial stuff too. It's funny, back then all I dreamed of being was a soldier in the Army, and It showed in what I used to write. I even found an old art folder that came from year seven (around 2001), 9/11 to be honest. It's why I hate that folder.) Back then I didn't care about art, but looking inside, damn have I changed...

Anyway, I'll probably post a piece before I leave (assuming I actually finish it before i do go.) It's the one that some of you saw me color on air two weeks ago. Man, I've been slacking... I'll probably update this journal before I go too.

Oh ya, apparently DeviantART poses a security risk to my computer. It apparently has a trojan, possibly to do with some of it's adverts (I don't get them as I am subbed.) Just a little word of caution.

... I might just have one. I went to view a property on Saturday with two other students and the place was amazing. So much so, I paid the handling fees for paperwork there and then. That means I'm pretty much bound to the place now, but since there are also two others, possibly three, who are going to move in, it makes it even better. All the rent and bills get split, so I end up with a fantastic three story property costing only £187 pcm with 4 people. To put that into perspective, the average price for a student flat in norwich is £260 pcm. EPIC BARGAIN.

Assuming nothing goes wrong (which it shouldn't) I look to be moving on the 12th. So, around that time, expect silence from me for at least a week.

It really was for me, hopefully for those that watched too. Thanks to everyone who came and watched me draw. I was on for just over two hours but I had to go because of Dad. >_>

It's a shame it was laggy. There was little I could do about that. I had to run on 8 frames per second on an upload speed of 130kbps. Not ideal. Still, I'll definately broadcast again in the future.

EDIT: So, Assuming things go alright, I'll be broadcasting TONIGHT at 8PM GMT, stopping when I have to. Assuming I get no requests, I'll just be working on a piece I'm currently doing (meaning getting a peek at a work that's taking me ages.) and possible coloring a very old piece that I have.

Plus, today marks my second anniversary of being on DA. Woop-de-doo.

... My first term at university starts. I'm still looking for a place to live though. Going to be viewing some properties soon though. Ideally I want to share a place with some other students. That'd be amazing, especially if they were Game Art and Design students too!

I've had the best idea for a Dragon picture I've had in a long time. It's been too long since I drew one. It hasn't been started yet so I don't know when it will be done.

Wierd week I've had over the last 7 days. It's not something I really want to talk about. (as none of it was good up until Friday afternoon.) Still, on Friday, I got something I've been waiting for for a while. A painting from that she painted for my win of a contest she did a while back. It is beautiful.



Going to get it framed and hung in a prominent place in my room. It, along with the rest of my collection, will come to uni too.

1) The list of careers I used to want to have is longer than most novels. Some of the careers I used to want inclide being in the police force, being a scientist, being a journalist, being in the milatary and being a roadworker (for some reason...)

2) I'm telephobic, yet I have a mobile phone. I'm backwards like that.

3) Used to be in the Army Cadet Force. Was so for two years, then left due to the it having the worst leadership possible.

4) I was something of an oddity in school. Everyone seemed to see me as some sort of foreigner. I have no idea why they'd take it that far though. I just dealt with it and kept to myself. As a result, I didn't make a lot of friends.

5) I have a very dark sense of humor and I'm not entirely thankful for it.

6) I absoloutely cannot play any musical instruments, despite wanting to learn to play the violin.

7) Despite living in a country where gun ownership is illegal, I've fired a fair few guns. Accurately too. I have the ACF to thank for that.

8) The first genres of music I really listened to was skate rock and metal. I haven't really changed much in the four years I started then.

9)I hate summer and the heat it brings. Aptly, I love winter.

10) The only times I've been abroad is on school trips. That makes three times, two to Germany, one to France.

... Is where my Dad is unfortunately.

He was admitted ther on Monday after suffering a minor heart attack. He saw his GP on Sunday after feeling ill with chest and arm pains and, thanks to his perception, suspected something was wrong and admitted him to hospital.

He's recovering at the moment and looks to be discharged on Monday, though if things keep going well he could be out on Friday. Obviously, he won't be back to normal for a while afterwards though.

No one though this was going to happen to him at this time. This comes as quite a wake up call to me, Mum and Dad. I have a feeling quite a lot is going to change when he is discharged.

There's an idiom I hear occasionally, though in different contexts to the one in this journal. 'Adding Insult to Injury.' For Dad, this idiom is reversed. The attack he had is the injury, the fact that he's going to be in hospital on his birthday and possibly on Fathers day is the insult. It seems to be a trait that runs in our family. For three years this kind of thing has happened. From falling in plush hotels on Wedding Anniversaries to being severly ill while off work. I wonder what's going to happen next...

Anyway, all that's important right now is that Dad is recovering and he'll be out soon. That's good enough for me.



I know this may seem like a pointless rant to some, but I feel better about things now that I have written this. It helps me see things in a different way and helps me feel more comfortable about what has happened. Rest assured, for those who give two damns about my updates, this won't slow me down. There are still pages being made and tutorials constructed as I said.

It's been wuite a while since I last wrote in this journal box thing so I'd better do so.

I've been looking through some really old stuff that I once used to use or work on and remembered that I had an Elfwood account at [link] I dunno if anyone who reads this uses Elfwood, but if you do, feel free to add me. It's not as detailed as my DA and I don't prefer it to this, but I've had it for a lot longer.

I also found the remnants of a really old comic project. Mainly just what are now, tattered scripts and some really bad concept stuff. It never had a name and it's story is somewhat similar to that of My Darkness, but it was going to be a manga instead on an anthropomorphic comic (At the time I'd never even heard of anthro. In those long distant times my manga, well, sucked too.) I considered doing a little more stuff for it but given it's age, bad design and similarity to what I already work on, I left it.

Upcoming works include some new comic pages. The sketches for the last few pages of the current chapter are done and I just need to refine and color them. Also, the next chapter is scripted so there should be little delay in the transition from chapter to chapter. Also, I haven't forgotten about the tutorials I was going to make. I didn't know how I was going to structure them but I've figured out a way I can comfortably do so and tell what I can share in a decent way. The first tutorial will be on a way that I do backgrounds, then I'm considering doing an extension to the firearms tutorial I did a while ago.

Onto other 'news'...

I've got three months left here, then I'm moving. I don't know exactly where I'm going but ill be moving to Norwich. I could end up in a Hall of Residence run by the NUCA but I'm more likley to have to get my own property or share something with another student. Should be good no matter how it turns out.

Finally, Red Faction: Guerilla is probably one of the greatest games I have ever played. It lets me destroy stuff in the most realistic way ever in a video game. (literally, it's brick by brick dismantling of a building.) It's combat is fluid and a lot of fun (Sledgehammer and Gutter. Gotta love defeating high tech Gauss and Railgun weaponry with a hammer and a homemade halberd.) and it has some amazing vehicles. Yes, I am looking at the Heavy Mining Walker and the MRLS Tank. So, expect RF:G fanart sometime soon.

It has occoured to me that in less then five months, I'm going to be living away from home properley for the first time, and that I'll be living in a city (Has lived in the country for practially all of his life.) It's also only really dawning on me that I'm going to be a student, and an art student at NUCA (I chose to go to Norwich and ave accepted their offer. W00t!!) at that (has no formal art education.) I feel so wierd, everything is going to change, and for the better too. I'm wondering when proper realisation about my situation is going to bite me in my Quantim Singularity.

...And it went pretty well. The interviewers seemed to like me and my work, so hopefully when I hear from them in two weeks I'll have good news. The course, as predicted, is great, Exactly what I want to do (Games Art and Design), and the university is a really good one. Built right next to Norwich's city center which I was already somewhat familiar with. Even more so now.

Anyyays, I'm going to post the project work and review that I did, but at the moment the drawings are, well, drawings. I'll do a poll to see if you want them up now as drawings or if you want me to color them as I see them which will, obviously, take time, but will look better.

So, I had my first university interview today and I can safley say that it was awesome. It truly was. The course is great and the course teachers seem happy to have me on thier course. The only thing is that it may not really be the course for me. It teaches game design and there is little focus on art. Still, I have the game art and design course interview to attend on the 23rd and I'm going to look into Fine Art courses since my interviewer thought that might be better for me.

And all the fretting over the portfolio was all for naught. Turned out that it was fine. My comic = WIN

Oh, I don't suppose anyone knows any ways to use Blender? I recently downloaded it and want to learn how to use it.

...Is more or less how I feel. First interview is on Friday. I seriously hope my portfolio is good enough for it. Closest I have to what they seem to need is everything I've done for my comic so far, so that's mainly what I'm going to present.

Well, I got an interview with the NUCA in Norwich, and they set me a small project for me to do for the interview, and, well put it this way. Best. Homework. Ever. A review on a game of my choice and the presentation of visual ideas for a game I'd like to create.

So, I might not update much over the next month, or I may post all the stuff I make for the project I have.

Additionally, this typically came to me as I was working on my comic page. So it's still not done, BUT IT NEARLY IS!

The university situation is looking good! I have an interview with the UCS (University Campus Suffolk) in Ipswich on the 13th of March, so I've been makning content for that. I also heard today from the other university I applied to, the NUCA (Norwich University College of Art), so I'll hopefully get an interview with them.

Once that's out of the way, I'll be trying to work and get as much money as I can for uni. If it's how I think it is, I'm going to need it. O_o

Finally... My Comic...

Is ALIVE AGAIN! HUZZAH!! I've sketched page 51 out and it'll be colored tomorrow and hopefully put up on monday. I'm really sorry to those that followed it and that I've put you through a three month hiatus that I never explained. Christmas and birthday preperations, card creation, a script rewrite and some character recreation, took a while and I never could get back into the schedule of drawing and coloring pages for an update schedule. Nonetheless, there is a sketch on my clipboard right on the top of the pile, so It'll get colored. Again, I'm really sorry that I stopped writing.

...Specifically Dragonart Fantasy Characters, the second book (I think) By Neon Dragon. Got it for £9:69. An EPIC bargain if you ask me. I'll probably use it like the first of her books- work from it cover to cover. It's too much of a shame to let any of it's advise go to waste.

Other news. I am amazed at the detail of the map editor in Far Cry 2, which I got for christmas. Shame the actual multiplayer experience is... subpar, but making maps is fuuuuuuuuun. In fact, I intend to make a replica of Booty Bay. A town on World of Warcraft, using the ingame parts. That'll take ages x.x but I'm gonna do it. If anything, it's getting published for download as soon as it's done, so everyone can set fire to it and demolish it with RPG's XD

So yes. Happy new year to everyone! A day late, but better than never. 2008 went pretty fast, but given that it was quite an awful year means that's all good. I'd be so suprised if this year is worse. XD

I've got a couple of resoloutions of my own that I'm going to try and follow. Some are relatively 'common', like wanting to get fitter (I'm not too fat, just feel really weak physically. Wanna change that.) but I also intend to read more, as it's pretty pointless getting the third Eragon book for Christmas if I havent finished the second book. I also plan to draw a lot more than I do. At least draw something and make meaningful progress once per day. Got a few pictures in the making but they aren't ones I can put up straight away, so there won't be much change for a little while

I *might* be earning money for the first time in aeons. I've been looking at employment oppotunities for a few weeks now, going to be filling in forms and sttending interviews, so hopefully I'll be earning decent money. Especially important since I'm going to be going to university next year.

My World of Warcraft subscription ends on wednesday D=, but I'm getting a 60 day card. Very nice, because it means that someone is going to be getting a lovley Zhevra mount... *is jealous to point of glowing green* Recruit a Friend for the win. I got an open day at the UCS university on Saturday. I'm going to learn about the Computer Games Design course. That's always been something I find interesting, how they are made, the thought that goes in to them, and I always love browsing concept art for games, heck, I got the collectors edition of Guild Wars: Factions and spent a solid hour and a half going through the art book that was included. Realisticaly, I'm probably not going to get accepted this year, but who knows? I certainly don't.

Also, I got Mercenaries 2 last friday, the day it came out in the EU, ans I must say I'm pretty dissapointed with it. It *is* fun, and it *is* entertaining very often (particularly the dropping of fuel air bombs and Daisy Cutters), but it feels so unfinished. Many features that were promised haven't been included, and it's pretty buggy and glitchy. It is a good game, but it should be so much better.

And I blissfuly failed to notice that on the 24th of Aug, I turned one!! On DeviantART, that is... I'm not actually one... *walks away*

I've gone full circle with certain parts of my life... Things I swore never to do again that I've gone and done again. Namely involving a certain someone who initially ruined me. Well, 8 months is a loooooooong time. Very easy to forgive and forget. I'm mature enough to do that at least. No use moaping around in the past...

I really HATE summer. It's by far the worst season for me. The sun that seeks to burn and defile your skin, the heat that dazes and tires you, the insects that pester and eat you, the light that blinds you.

I really cannot concerntrate at the moment. Making far too many stupid mistakes in my drawings. I've scrapped and restarted the fourth elemental girl four times already. I just can't get simple stuff right.

Roll on Autumn. If it wasn't for the fact that there are leaves on the trees in summer, I wouldn't ever go outside in it.

Been taking part in and working on a rather major project that I'm not really at liberty to talk about, so my personal art is a lickle bit delayed. I've got two sketches of my next comic page to decide to color. A single paneled page that'll be more like a normal picture or a four paneled page breaking up the pages events... *goes and ponders.*

And is that a comic page that Feral is drawing there? Perhaps we will get an update? Well, I've started working on it again, but it may be a late update. I've got another project that I need to do some work for pretty urgently, as in, start a script for tomorrow... Late update will ensue.

...Six to go. Exams that is. I had my german listening, reading and translation today and it went suprisingly well. I think I might just pass this paper... I'm a natrual optimist... But ya. Six left. Geography mod 4 (I think) and English mod 4 on Friday now.

Andrecently I got, what is in my opinion, the most awesome game on Xbox. 'The Darkness'. Been after it for a while and it finally occoured to me that I can buy it online *facepalm self*. The Darklings are really quite cute... Especially in thier outfits... And I have developed an affinity for eating the faces off of bent cops, then proceeding to tear thier heart out and devour it. On The Darkness, that is... I left that bloodthirsty phase of me behind two weeks ago... Also, It has an awesome soundtrack that I'd like to see if I can get. And it's comics...

Exams next week... Eek. Got german first, thel all my geography and english. All in all, my exams run from the 4th to the 19th, then I get to bum around for ages. Then... Hell, I dunno. Not sure what;s going to hapen to me =/ I'm probably not going to be able to go to University, probably not going to be allowed to do another A-level at school... Mmmmm... Confuzzled throughly.

But ya, I'm out of school now. No more german lessons. Ever. Forever. Until the end of time and the Dawn of Time Mk 2.

I'm seriously thinking of getting an electric violin soon too. I can get one for £75... I might get it...

Aaaaaaaaand... My comic,- is not dead, just in a coma because of exams. I don't really relish working too hard on it at the moment. There will hopefully be an update this weekend, but there may not be another until the end of June. We'll see. Same goes for all my realism I want to do.

I have only got one week left at school, then I bugger off on study leave where I prepare to fail my exams. fuuuuun...

My mum is more or less back to normal now. She's been up and around the house now, so all seems good. I showed her the previous journal with all your comments on it, and she was really appreciative of them, so thanks you guys rock.

I got absoloutely no sleep last night. The reasins were terrible. Basically, my Mum collapsed last night. Me and Dad thought it might be her MS which she suffers from, I thought perhaps it evolved or something ( I don't really know a lot about it), but we got a paramedic over to see. He didn't know too, but he was here from half one 'till 3. By that time, me and Dad were fully awake again, so our sleep patterns are screwed. I just stayed up and played GTA 4, being unable to do anything else for Mum. Still, I got to watch the sunrise... So much cooler than sunset, even though my room window faces west, I could still see the blue glow as the sun rises from the other side. I also got treated to the 'Dawn Chorus'. Absoloutely beautiful. Still, however nice those two things are, they were ruined by the event that allowed them...

You guys rock. I never thought I'd get that kind of popularity on a picture. I guess I'm doing something right. Uh, I did have a really detailed thankyou mesage here but Vista decided to delete it, so I'll stab it for you.

I found out that I'm buggered academically. basically, I'm not going to be able to get in to any form of art university even though It's possible that I could get onto the course I wanna do cus it needs 2 E's and a relevant set of art related to game art and desogn (what I wanna do) More details were posted, but Vista deleted them.

So yeah, I'm screwed.

Is a pesky little sod that hates me as much as I hate it. I'd rather sleep with moths than do coursework. And I'd rather eat moths than do coursework IN GERMAN!! XD

'Course, I've now done my coursework, all of it that I'll have to do, so YAY!, but I do still have all the equally pesky exams to do in may/june... *sighs deeply, grabs M92 and looks thoughtful.*

Also, ever so recently, I have developed near insatiable urges to play violin... =/ I think it's all the Luca Turilli I keep listening to. I'll admit though, that i have always loved the sound of the violin...

Oh dear. I had an exam today and, well, lets's just say it was CRAP. German spoken exam. Not very nice. Especially when you get asked the stuff you really can't do. So yeah, it went bad. Moderate to high chance I've now failed german. XD

Getting Guild Wars soon. I was supposed to get it tomorrow, on tuesday, but I won't get it now 'till
friday or if I'm really unlucky, Monday!! Noooooo... And I only have 2 and a half hours left on my trial! D=

*Feral goes to the table and takes a SPAS 12 and a kukri*
Mudkip: Wha-whadya want from me?

*Feral takes a step closer to the Mudkip, which is tied into a chair*
Mudkip: WAAAAAA!!!

Mudkip: Wait! Wait! I'll tell you everything!

*Feral slashes the throat of the Mudkip with the kukri, leaving a laceration on it's neck*

It's easter! Well, it was... And for us it was a white Easter. We had snow. I got one egg, which I'm eating now. It's the first egg I've got in over 8 years (Thanks for the egg)

I'm on easter break now. Woo! Nearly three weeks off, but the week after I get back I've got an A-level exam in German speaking, ick... I've done 8 oral exams before though, so this shouldn't be too much of an issue.

My comic My Darkness is now on the second chapter! I've scripted it and I'm doing a title page for it, then I'll start it proper.

First, I'm going to be uploading a lot of old art over the next week into my scraps gallery. (decided by poll vote, you want it in the scraps) I counted the pictures I'll put up and it came to about 70... So, it'll be taking a few days, unless I get really bored.

Second, I havent been too productive recently. Scraping along with my comic (which is now 30 pages long) but not really doing much else. I just haven't been in the mood. I got results back for some exams that I did in January and they are all crazy. Normally, you don't get annoyed and murderous for getting an A, but I did, purley because of the exam it came in... THE most pointless piece of shit imaginable basically and I have to be good at it. (I'm on about an exam called 'General Sudies, Maths and Science paper) I hate math and science, and nearly every university in the country refuse to acknowledge General Studies. Further proof that I'm useless at things that matter...

The Realism Project: No I haven't forgotten about it, just have not been arsed to do anything for it (mainly do to above reasons). I'm going through volunteers as alphabetically as I can, unless people volunteer after thier name letter has passed, in which I'll squeeze them in somewhere. Anyway, please be patient with this. I do want to get better at realism...

I got an Xfire

So, yeah. My friend talked me into getting an Xfire account and here is my record... thing...

After over a month of inactivity, my comic is updating again. 22 pages old now, but the comicgenesis one won't be updating now as they have locked my account or something... You can still read it and it might just update itself if that makes sense... Either way, the live space version works fine, so I'll update that one [link]
