I am a person who firmly believes that children should not live in a glass bubble of happiness and sunshine, let me say this first. I applaud and appreciate children's movies that try and instill some fear into you and force you to see an issue face-up. Of course there are moments we remember, hopefully, as children when we were forced through cinema to deal with a subject. Sometimes it helped us, such as the Lion King helping kids deal with bereavement much more easily. Other times, it can be quite scarring. But that's not the fault of the movie makers, it is the child him or herself that must handle it, almost a growing experience. Without understanding such things you may well grow up to be quite jaded. That's my opinion anyway.
So here is my list of top 5 most disturbing moments of children's movies, that personally affected me, in no particular order.

1 - The Death of Littlefoot's Mother (The Land Before Time)
Now of course we all know the Bambi moment, and in Lion King with Mufasa, but those moments did not strike me as hard as the very first death I saw represented in any way. Land Before Time is perhaps the only film that makes me break into tears from the very beginning, and this moment is one of the major reasons. Littlefoot and his friend Cera are being chased by a Sharptooth/T Rex and about to be snapped up when Littlefoot's mother comes right in to kick his ass hard with her tail. A furious battle happens while the earth below their feet is shifting insanely so due to the unpredictable climate of their era (I think). The Sharptooth is vanquished, but Littlefoot's mother carries worser wounds.
Now Bambi never saw his mother die. In fact none of us ever did, it was an offscreen death but one that was still very shocking.
But with Littlefoot, I feel the death is even worse. His mother is dying slowly, right before his very eyes and ours as well, and what follows after that is a journey of hopelessness, confusion, and sorrow. Bambi had an easy break by being the Prince of the Forest and having a dad to support him. But Littlefoot, his grandparents were on the other side of a chasm in the earthquake, and he has no royalty to get comfy with. So he had to bear the brunt of bereavement on his long neck hard, only supported by a few friends along the way.
It breaks my heart every time when he sees a shadow of himself and thinks it's his mother, before he licks the rock wall it was on and his face turn from surprised joy, to utter crushing depression.
You can't get any more heartbreaking than this. Well, admittedly Simba got exiled and even blamed for his dad's death so I guess you can. But not to me.

2 - Bigwig Ensnared (Watership Down)
Watership Down is one of those films that scarred an entire generation, and glad it did too, in my opinion. It was a film that at first people thought was about a bunch of rabbits finding a sanctuary, and it is. But it's more than that. It is a film about their spirituality, life and death to a rabbit as a descendant of El-Ahrairha (their master, according to their folklore) and awaiting the day when the Black Rabbit of Inle shall come to claim them as part of his warren in rabbit heaven...or wherever rabbits go after death. Several moments in the film are incredibly blunt about death, but the most disturbingly graphic scene is when Bigwig is caught in a snare and is literally choking to death. At first it's a harsh choking, but then you start seeing blood seep from his nose and mouth until he has a red bib of blood on his front. It just hits you with it, hard. But hey that's what happens to rabbits in real life, so it's almost educational on the frailty of life.
God knows what would have happened if the makers of this film did Bambi. Probably have had the mother bleeding from the neck of an enormous shotgun wound.

3 - "Worthless" (The Brave Little Toaster)
While several moments of this underrated film stick in my head, such as the lonely flower or Toaster's nightmare of the clown, one particular part stuck out to me the most. Near the end of the film, Toaster and his friends find themselves in a scrap yard where of course all old appliances and vehicles are made into....scrap. The song that plays, sung by the cars before their doom and is based on a song by a country-western Supergroup involving Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and another guy I can't remember, is both catchy and startlingly morbid when you wrap your head around it. A race car is retired and at the end of his race, a family car became too small for its family, and lastly, the car with horns who says she took a Texan to his wedding, and then the car after her took a man to his funeral.

Nothing else happening for me, other than trying to find a job and still playing games. I recently got the second Phoenix Wright and greatly enjoying it aplenty, so hopefully it sells well enough to convince Capcom to translate the third one for next year.
I also am putting up some time on the PSP with Metal Slug Anthology. MAN it is hard but that is to be expected from an arcade game. Smashing music in it though.

1. I am a triskadekaphile (someone fascinated by the number 13) and I sometimes plan around it. One example is always taking seat 13 at the cinema.

2. Following this, I was born on the 13th on the 31st minute of the hour. 31 = 13....spookeh.

3. I have an astonishing memory for comedy and with one line from someone, I can practically recreate an entire sketch or joke. I did this frequently with my sister (we were the comedy duo of the house).

4. While eclectic with musical tastes (as in, liking all styles of music) I especially love videogame music in all its forms, and listen to it every day. I consider myself to be quite a knowledgeable person of game musicians.

5. When I was 5, I was the only one to get mumps during a chickenpox outbreak. Following that, I was the only one to get chickenpox on the INSIDE of my body during the mumps outbreak.

6. I am VERY good at resisting hunger to the point of fainting.

7. My favourite actress is Sigourney Weaver.

8. I will cry if either watching the first Land Before Time or Mickey's Christmas Carol.

9. When meeting people in real life, I am very shy and insecure and distrustfully cold. Online, the physical barrier is gone and it is far easier to be friends with those online.

10. I have a pro-racist tendency to like other people only for being foreign. But in recent years, this has gone down and it now bases itself on personality.

11. I am fascinated with time travel. Most things to do with time travel I will like a lot more, especially if they deal with parallel universes.

18. Contradicting fact number 16, I am very lustful in thoughts and unconsciously think up many strange scenarios involving....well, anyone really.
Except celebrities. They're too unreal.

19. I consider TETRIS as the greatest game of all existence, despite it not being my most favourite game of all. Because it is so simple, amazingly addictive and playable for anyone with at least two hands and one eye, it is immortal.
Probably the only videogame to live forever.

And other news, my modem seems to have corrected itself out. I guess it just needed a long adapting time, it hasn't crashed in a long time and it's downloading faster than before, like 30kb/s. I am thankful it's got better now.

Other news, I bought Father of the Pride on DVD, waiting for the sequel to The Suffering at the end of this month (figures it would come out near Halloween) and of course, the game that inspired the above poem I have LOVED. Old one from 1992 for the Sega Genesis. Mickey's World of Illusion (not CASTLE of Illusion, different game).
Played the old game about five times. I am so old-skool.

Well, that's all now. Oh I forgot how old the old journal entry was so if I hadn't mentioned before, my boyfriend has recovered from his surgery (YAY) and he is now planning to come live with me in the UK as the USA is getting way too stressful for him.
So now I have to find a job and place for him to stay, as I know my parents won't let him live here (understandable, we had bad experience with lodgers before).

It was my birthday on August 13th and I am now 18 years old. Wow.....I don't feel it even though I should.

It's been a good few days with its usual luggage of bad things like most days.

Bad:
My bf David is having some bad problems with his days and needing a surgery in September (for reasons I will not state for his sake).
One of his ex-boyfriends, also a good friend of mine, has been in quite a strange set of moods and I'm trying to help him as much as I can. He's a good guy with a bad plate in life.
And I think tension is rising with me and my father.
Also, my modem is being a buggy bugger and I HAVE to get this thing replaced tomorrow.

GOOD:
A friend of mine explained how Silent Hill worked, at last, it's all SO CLEAR!
made me an awesome birthday gift, free of charge and I didn't even ask (although she hinted it and I was secretly hoping she'd make one) and I absolutely love it to bits! Thanks Xuchilbara!!!
I finally finished Killer7 and I don't think it has replay value. But it was a damn interesting plot that gripped me as long as the game.

Well, in terms of what sort of pairing? Friends, Enemies or lovers? I'll make that clear here.
Ohhh, you mean as in..."pairings"....well...sorry, but I kinda don't usually do that for cartoons. I think there's a question later there for you to deal there with that.

How about pairings I just find awesome? That ok?

1. Lilo/Stitch *Friends* (Lilo and Stitch): Now, these two simply rock on their own, but as a team, they are just superb. One freaky girl who won't back down from anything and has an obsession for fat people, combined with a destructive experiment with a complex of morality vs destruction.....is just probably the best match of characters Disney ever made in film and/or series.

2. Iago/Genie *Friends* (Aladdin): Yeah, this is pretty odd, but the two are basically comedy reliefs put together, so you have a good balance of wise-cracks from iago with extravagant jokes from Genie. Those two could go on Just For Laughs and knock the house down!
(Yes, I love Iago, parrots rock!)

3. Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck *Enemies* (Looney Toons): Not really friends, I guess, since Daffy is always shifting the pain towards Bugs before it backfires into his beak. The two work with such an animosity that comedy ensues as natural as popcorn in a microwave. It just pops out anytime.

4. Robin Hood/Maid Marian *Lovers* (Disney's Robin Hood): Might as well add lovers in here somewhere, and these two are as sweet as you can get. Childhood promise blossoming into brave rescueing (the archery event made me go through three emotions step by step) and playful quips. I love the two, along with Robin being handsome and Marian being pretty.
Alright, I did "like" them, happy now?

Toon pairings you hate-

1. Baloo/Kitt *Friends* (TaleSpin): I'll bite, I wasn't a fan of TaleSpin. Baloo annoyed me in it and I never liked the little cub.

2. Scooby Doo/Scrappy Doo *Friends* (Scooby Doo): Yes, I never liked the Scooby Doo shows, mainly because I never found them funny. Scrappy just sucked, period. Didn't anyone ever wonder WHY he was thrown out of a train at the beginning? Point. Sadly, some kind bugger gave him airholes.

3. Godzilla/Godzooky *Friends* (Hanna-Barbera Godzilla): Yes, this just shows you why pairing a main character with a sucky little mini-me of themselves is a purely bad idea. Ever since Scrappy, they pop up like ants! DAMN YOU SCRAPPY!!! DAMN YOU GODZOOKY!!!

4. Ren/Stimpy *Friends/Lovers?* (Ren and Stimpy): I'm sorry, I REALLY hated this show. It was too gross for me, and it made me puke three times during two episodes....I can't take them. They are funny by personality, but their show is....urgh.

I am going to see a psychiatrist next month. I have been through some bad crap lately, mainly dogs fighting, another panic attack, and having a manic burst to lead me out, running across a freakin' motorway and walking three miles alone to a town, where police pick me up. . .and it all went from there.

it's all cleared up. I got my appointment. And also, something else.
I have now found out from my mother that I actually have the social mentality of a 12-year old.
THAT was the main reason they are always worried about me being unsupervised.
Christ, I'm nearly an actual adult and I still feel alone and afraid in towns and cities.

Also, my mate David and me have been arranging plans for us living together. After weighing up who has more to less by emigration, it appears that I must live with him, all the way in Oregon.
So. . .seeing my problems, my parents are afraid of how I am coping.
I feel that I may fall out with my father after learning some vicious truths about him from my mother. My mother who is incapable of lying.

Also, I have been working night shifts for my mum to help her and the family business, in exchange for £20 per week.

Ohhh, I feel so laden with problems now.
It's a good thing I have my hermano James and my dear boyfriend David. Without them I probably would've slit my wrists back in December.
Ach, what am I saying? I shouldn't be thinking that.
I have been trying to cope with the new information and getting plans sorted. I know my parents are worried about me on my own in the US, but I'm not alone!
I have David, I trust him. And this is rare for me, since I generally mistrust people. If I trust someone, then well, I trust them.
I want to live with David. This feels like my one shot at true love. I want to know what true love feels like when you are close with one another. What all those soppy love films were talking about, and what it truly meant to know and care for someone else only a lover or husband or wife could do.

I am going to the USA one day. Even if I can't do it forever, I will be with David somehow.
Now enough of that. . .what else?

Oh yeah. In other news, I am eagerly awaiting Kingdom Hearts 2, and also been playing Area 51 a bit. Marilyn Manson has a good villain voice: cool, dark and twisted.

Counting them up, as of 15 January 2005 at 1:19pm GMT, I actually now have 53 poems. Not all of them are on DeviantART for certain reasons but rest assured, they're all on my PC.
My first poem "The World I Live In" was conceived back in March 2004, and now after 10 months, I have this much, my newest poem entitled "Clan of Darkness".

Also, I heard of a strange thing recently. A man called Seth Barkin writes poems about videogames. Imagine, VIDEOGAMES!!! This adds a new direction to me. I have made three poems (the ones that reached past the 50 mark) of three videogame characters.

I got up late, and had to rush, making record time getting my clothes on.
I was bored, catching up on Biology (Darwin's theories which I already know)
Administration had a surprise test jump me, but we'll see the mark.

Great grandmother died, funeral's on Thursday.

Finished another chapter of my fanfiction on Jack forums (Takamo and ManiacJester, you're welcome to read it on the forums).
