For the record, yes, I do accept commissions. Unfortunately I live in England, and with the current exchange rates you might find my prices a little high . . . and then there's shipping, which I have to insist is registered. Sorry about that.

Chibis

I do get asked a lot more about the chibis more than I do about the more finished stuff. They are easier to do, but they use the same amount of art supplies, so the base price is rather steep. They're done in traditional media and I'll happily send the originals to you if you'll pay the shipping:

£10 - One to three chibis, no background.
£15 - Four to six chibis, no background.
£20 - Seven to nine chibis, simple background.

(By the way, there's no difference in price between having, say, four chibis in one picture, or four different chibi pictures, or two different pictures of chibi couples.)

Regular Artwork

Like the chibis, these are done in traditional media and I'll be happy to send you the originals if you feel up to paying the shipping costs:

£10 - A single portrait, up to full length but a blank or simple background.
£15 - A couple's portrait, up to full length but a blank or simple background.
£20 - A single or couple's portrait, with a detailed background.

If you're interested, it's best to contact me by sending me a note or leaving a comment to this journal entry. (Non-deviants can e-mail me if it's easier.)

I didn't see the point on weighing in on the current uproar but, I swear, now people are jumping at shadows.

People?

Read. Your. Contracts.

Deviantart has always been able to use your artwork, you gave that right to them when you signed up.

(Yes, even if you signed up back in that Shining Era of Jark when everyone got 20 favorites per picture and +5 to their drawing skill. I miss those days, don't you?)

You retain ownership at all times. They do not have the right to actually sell your work. If you terminate your membership, they lose most, but not all, of those rights. The rights they do retain protect them from you suing them for using your art in the first place.

This is all very standard legal fare.

If you can't understand what a contract says, don't agree to it, damn it! Especially not when it's dealing with your legal right to ownership of your own work!
