Sakura Con started for me basically Wednesday night.  That night, a friend of mine arrived from Spokane who would be helping me with my table.  That night, I worked until 3:16 am and HORRAY! I usually try to blog on Sundays just to recap the week, but I was working all of last night, determined to finish a page of my manga.  That page that took a zillion years to tone.  I had a lot of sound effects on that, which I hand drew instead of using a font (mostly because I couldn’t remember the ones I had downloaded save 2 of them that were completely royalty free…COMPLETELY royalty free fonts are really hard to find…anyways)  That ended up taking a lot more time than I expected.

So just an update on what's going on in my artsy world.

I finished the main part of that crazy wig! Hooray! If you haven't read previous blogs, it was the Saiunkoku wig, that horrible crazy intricate ancient Chinese wig.  :faint: I might need to every so often apply hair spray or something to the side loops, since it gets these wispy pieces of hair that fall out sometimes.

 As you know, if you read my last obnoxiously long blog, I've been working on some cosplay costumes for this upcoming Sakura con and ANIME EXPO IN LA! WHOOOO!!!

 I actually managed to get a grip of the crazy combination of fake hair, hot glue, modge podge, and foam.  But it was kind of a painful learning process, now I know why styled wigs cost so much.  The headpiece is coming together nicely, the two arches of hair are solidly on the headband, along with the back bun part and middle-fancy-green and pearl-thing. So, I’ve been trying to mull over some ideas for a new cosplay outfit, but I’m running into a bit of a wall here.  Here are the ideas I want it to include, or at least some of them:

1.  I want it to be bold
2.  I want it to look good made out of a light fabric, like cotton (although am open to dressier fabrics).
3.  I would prefer it to be something in can manage to bring along easily on a plane ride down to Anime Expo.

Ok, I'm so unbelievably deppressed...there goes that chance of a dream achieved.  I purchased my copy of Bizenghast 6, only to find out that my winning entry wasn't published! :cries:  I've wanted my artwork to be published for so long in some way.  It's heartbreaking.  The author/illustraitor informed me that it must have been an editor that chopped it out for page count, not knowing it was a contest.  I've been looking forward to this for months...and i was soso soooo excited, i'm crushed.  This is one of my favorite manga series..  It wasn't just me that got cut, there was another winner that the same thing happend to.
