So, what's new? Not that much.
I'm 23 now, got another tattoo, still hadn't any shootings (boo!), won NaNoWriMo and finished way too early, read a lot, played even more, made a lot of new jewelry and... did other stuff.
Nothing newsworthy, really.
I'm trying to be less lazy and start taking photos again. I'm sick of models bailing on me and not having shootings. It's poison for my motivation.
Some things are planned but let's be honest, when don't I plan anything?
One thing that's rather good for my motivation 'though is the possibilty of an own studio together with Mr ~time4pictures
If everything goes well, we should have one by January

I'm thinking about doing another calendar for 2010 if I find the time.
Also there will be another Print Giveaway! Hit the 70K pageview, screenshot it and send it to me and get a free A4 print of your choice

To be honest, I have neglected dA a bit (okay, a lot) the last few weeks. My trip to Dublin was amazing 'though I am pretty disappointed when it comes to Irish models. I had about 15 shootings in planning, even had to reject some requests because I had no time any more, and guess how many shootings I had?
One.
Fucking one.
Why? Because some models just stopped answering in the middle of planning. Some never wrote me again, some wrote to me when I was already preparing to go back to Germany.
At least I had five dates for shootings with everything planned, prepared and bought.
One model got sick.
One model's grandmother got sick.
One model moved and had no time.
One model never showed up.

So, yes, everybody can get a cold (I got one myself thanks to my midnight jogging through Frankfurt Airport to reach my plane...) but it's a pretty popular excuse for models so I don't know what to think.
Anyway, I am still very disappointed that I only had one shooting had to reject some pretty cool models for ones that never showed...
The one shooting I had was pretty cool. I worked with a MUA the first time and it was great. I really want to work with them more often.

My project for college is now called "Dubliners" and is, as you can guess, a series of portraits of people in Dublin. I can't tell you more right now because I want to show them to my lecturer first.
College starts again in not even two weeks and it will be my seventh and second last term in studying photography. I'll soon start working on my photodiploma.
Seems like yesterday that I started college. Hell, it seems like yesterday that I started photography...

Also, soon will be NaNoWriMo (=National Novel Writing Month) again and as I know myself, I'll hardly touch the camera and be glued to the keyboard again. I'm so looking forward to that month of writing madness.
Anybody else in?

I was so busy doing other stuff for college and after that I just had to come down and relaxe a bit doing absolutely nothing...
I guess my break was long enough because I'm quite anxious to shoot again. I have a small shooting next week but I hope there'll be more soon.

Also, I just booked a flight to Dublin at the end of the month and my stay at a hostel for two weeks. My college had the "great" idea that every photography student should have to work on a project in another county so I took it as an excuse to go to Ireland again.
I still need to figure out what I'll actually work on but oh well. I still have a few weeks to think about it...
I'll be on my own in Dublin so if you're from around there and want to hang out or have a coffee or maybe a shooting, note me
I'd like to meet some folks from Dublin. Also, if you know any models from that area it would be cool if you'd tell me.
Besides my mystery project I'd like to have a few shootings.

Oh damn, I love it! My new series "Silent Songs" was taken in an attic with avaiable light only and everything I did in the post-progress was cutting and playing with the contrast a bit.
It's rare that I say it but I adore the new pictures! It's quite a relief to notice that I'm walking on a path I actually want to walk on and finally start becoming the kind of photographer and person I want to be.
Does that make sense? It does for me, so it's okay, I guess.

Also I added new stuff to my dA store. Lots of my prints are avaiable as canvas, fine art prints and other stuff now.
As some might have noticed, two of my most bought and favorited pieces (Someday and Writer's Evolution )were deleted from my print store and therefore from your wishlists. They are not gone for good, they just moved to `ArtistsForCharity
I figured since my old submissions were deleted because of a general replacement I might as well submit the two pieces who are most-wished and bought in my store. So, if you ever wanted to have one of those pictures, do something good and buy them over at `ArtistsForCharity
Right now the money goes to The Autistic Self Advocacy Network.

Just a few days until my sixt anniversary on dA! I can't believe how fast the time went by and how much I have developed since the beginning... I never would have guessed I would be where I am today because of a website! And it is because of a website, this website. It's no exaggeration if I say that it changed my life.
Oh and two more watchers and I have 500 people following my work!

For the ones curious, the entry was about Doll Photography (You can find the thread here: [link] ).
There are always some trends going on on DeviantART that are beyond my understanding. Most of the time I find them rather creepy.
What kind of trends?
That one about girls with enormous bellies and/or breasts or that one with "sexy" human-animal-hybrids (I believe this is called anthro?). There are always strange trends on dA. Most of the time I try to ignore them, expecially the ones in photography which result in dozens or even hundrets of similar looking pictures.

I prepare myself mentally to be flamed as doll-hater or something soon. dA can be a strange place sometimes if it comes to asking questions or telling others what you think.
I will never forgett the day after Bush's "second" election 2004 when I expressed my sorrow in one of the forum threads and was bashed as a "liberal-media brainwashed idiot"

Anyway, not much I could tell you. I have so much stuff here for photos, a brandnew camera {for the curious, it's an EOS 50D }, a lot of ideas and no models. That's just torture...
I just hope this will soon change. There are about 30 origami cranes that long to have a reason to be other than my hand's compulsion to stay busy during movies...

I am back from Berlin/Beelitz aka the Silent Halls and still impressed by everything I saw and experienced. It was freezing cold but amazing. I can't wait to get back there with a bunch of models. This time I only took one with me, the amazing Lara who you all might know from a lot of different pictures in my gallery.

The reason I am writing again 'though is a giveaway (yey, presents!). Soon I'll reach the big 60K and I want to give a print to the person who hits it and can prove it with a screenshot.
So, if you hit the 60K, send me a screenshot and I'll send you a signed and numbered 20x30cm/8x12 inch print of one picture in my gallery. You can chose which one you want, of course. Sounds good?

Right now I'm ravaging ebay and several costume stores. Among other things I have bought a straightjacket and right now I'm searching for new wigs. Something colorful for the decay in the Silent Halls. I also need yet to buy a safety helmet because it was highly recommended to wear one...

I am craving for new pictures 'though since my camera is a bit bitchy lately I'll have to get it to the Canon people first hoping it's nothing serious. So wish me good luck. I'd really like to take a digital camera to Berlin 'though I'll take my Holga with me non the less.

Alive and happy (what a combination!). I havn't taken any "real" photos in a few weeks but that's okay. The holidays and some other stuff kept me busy.
Most of the time that "other stuff" was writing and creating new jewelry. Lots and lots of jewelry.
I have yet to take some good promo pictures for dA but if you can't wait (haha) have a look here. I just love creating jewelry. I'd never though it would be this much fun. A lot of work but a lot of fun, too.
Most of the items are not online on my Etsy shop yet and only some are over at DaWanda but that might change soon. Can't wait to make proper promo pics

I reached the official and my personal goal and wrote a novel in one month. And damn it was fun. I'm looking forward to next year. Until then, back to my normal projects.

My photographic ones are working out fine too. I'm working on a project about writers in the Ruhr area and I have plenty of dates.
Also, for the very first time, I'm working on a architectural project with my brand new Holga. I wanted to work with an anaolg camera again for some time now and after my birthday almost two weeks back, I finally had the money to buy myself a Holga.
I actually have quite a collection of old analog cameras but they are all pretty heavy and the Holga is just so freaking light. Well, it's plastic after all. I can't wait to see the first pictures

As you might now I donated two of my pictures (Small Talk [link] & Listen to the cookie [link] ) to `ArtistsForCharity some time ago. This meant that I could/would not offer them as prints anywhere else. They were some of the first pictures they got and now they are looking for new stuff so they removed them from their gallery. I'll donate something else soon as soon as I have made up my mind which one(s). So "Listen to the cookie" and "Small Talk" may either soon return to my dA Store or I'll add them to my Etsy and DaWanda accounts.

Firstly, I'm so damn proud of all the US folks out there who voted for Obama/Biden on November the 4th! I was awake until the very end of Obamas speach which was about 6:30 in the morgning in Germany. I could not help but going to sleep grinning like an idiot. It was just so overwhelming.

One of my photos has been featured Photocouture
Of all of my music-related photos a selfportrait was featured which still leaves me puzzled but hey, I'm happy non the less.

Writing is going fine of you ignore the last few days on which I was just lazy and unmotivated. I'm still ahead of the schedule so it's okay.

As you might guess I've not taken a lot of photos lately but my next shooting is tomorrow. I'm working on a project with German writers and I'm pretty excited about it.
The second ongoing project will be my first project without humans. It will be an architectural one but since I'm still planning I can't tell you too much.

I've no freakin' clue why or what caused it but as you can imagine I'm somewhere between pissed and sad.
Monday it will be taken away and I hope it can be saved...
Most of my data is luckily on an external harddisk (photos and so on) but for some stupid reason I have not made a backup of my latest writings

I'm one of the most paranoid people ever when it comes to backups of my written stuff and it's a mystery to me why I didn't make one the last time. So quite a few pages of my latest "novel" might be gone now.
To make it worse, it is one of the scenes I had trouble with and was happy to have it written down after ages. Just my luck...

Yesterday I bought another computer heavy hearted because it's just not possible for me to stop working the next few weeks until I know what happens to my notebook.
'though I really would've needed the money for my project abroad next year...
But as we all know, complaining doesn't help one little bit.

On other notes, the photo-jewlery-project began and I hope to show you some new earrings and pendants soon and add them to my stores on Dawanda and Etsy.

Films about ghosts was very popular and I am so glad about it 'though I have a lot of prints and don't know what to do with them. Maybe I'll have a special sale soon or put them in one of my shops.
I'm on Etsy now but so long there are only 20x30cm/8x12 inch prints in my store and not the bigger ones from my pre-diploma.
I'm also going to start creating jewlery from my photos. Stay tuned for more information soon

I'm so very tired from the last few weeks. Next week my new term will start so I guess I'll have not that much time to recover. But that's okay.

Yes, I am blogging again. Again?
Well, yes. Before I started photography I was into webdesign, photomanipulations (you can still find some leftovers of that time in my dA gallery and on my homepage) and blogging. I always had a blog on my websites until some years ago. I just was not comfortable with it any more.
The new blog is kinda different. It's about writing, photography, art and travelling. It's nothing to personal but mostly about my work and thoughts on certain topics. It is bilingual- the German part is black and the English part is purple.
I wanted a plattform for myself where I could openly post new projects, outtakes, making-ofs and so on and talk about them.
So here we go. My blog

Most of the time I can not get over the fact that my most popular deviations are my selfportraits which are all from 2005. It's just a bit weird. Why do people like them so much? They are far away from being technicaly perfect (not that my other works are but they are closer to being technical good somehow). Is it the meaning? Is it because they are so personal?
I guess there is a certain style prefered on dA and they probably match this style a bit more than what I did the last few months or years.
Another thing that is just plain weired is that I have 475 watchers and get not even 10 comments per deviation.
Sometimes I feel like I stopped growing and developing. Like the heart is missing and it is showing in my photos. I just don't know.
I love what I do, that's for sure. If I would not love it I might not feel so grumpy after not shooting for some time.
Though it's not as bad as with the writing. You really do not want to meet me when I have not been able to write for some time. I am gloomy, bitchy and even more sarcastic than usually. Writing always comes first and I wonder if this is the reason that I will never be really good at photography. My heart just belongs to the written word.
Do I lack the passion and the heart to be good in another field, then?
I just don't know.
This is probably the most personal thing I have written online for quite some time but it's okay.
I just feel like sharing right now and this is no secret. I am proud and incredible grateful of what I do, no matter if it is about pictures or words, and I love it 'though I am not sure about the future. But who can be sure about that?
Life is about growing and I guess it would be quite boring to be where I want to be sometday, already. Being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up. The Ataris could not be more right.
I enjoy growing [up] and self doubt is a part of this. So let's just keep on growing and enjoying the moment.
