Most of this was done in high school, so..yeah, that explains that.

I've also become obsessed with my novel, Ashodel. Like, I'm writing a movie soundtrack on Finale. But I know it's not the most accessible story...I need serious help making things accessible to readers with a typical attention span. Right now I think I only reach people with infinite patience, in both fanfic and original writing.

In addition, I appear to be obsessed with India lately. My Eat, Pray, Love picture is not exactly a manifestation of my obsession, but it's certainly along the right track. Bollywood emits from my speakers lately. And my mouth. I think I'm learning Hindi.

So, that's me...just doing nothing until work starts in two weeks. School kind of disappeared on me. I don't object, and I like being able to write every day, even if it's only fanfic, but the lack of assignments makes me paranoid. I feel as though I'm forgetting some huge and terrible assignment. In fact, my exams are going to be easy as cake, and I have no looming projects. So I'm in this weird college limbo. Yep. I'm going to attempt to do something productive now.

But anyway. Classes are going well. I don't suck at differential equations anymore. I'm even half decent with wibbly wobbly, timey wimey sorts of things in modern physics. Again, my favourite class this semester is my writing class, even though it's nonfiction. I think my memory is improving by taking the course, because it makes you remember lots of random things.

I wrote about a sleepover at Zim's the other day in class, because the prompt was "childhood games" or something like that, so I thought of that time we tried to play capture the flag. In darkening woods. I think I was wearing sandals. Good times.

I think I have the unfortunate habit of falling into groups that will always be best friends, but then they fall apart. I want friends, but I'm afraid of reaching out now. I know I'm not alone in being alone, though. I think a lot of people are. What a stupid world.

Well, this journal has gotten more emo than I intended. What I meant to say was that I'm almost done with my Billie Piper drawing, and I got a calligraphy pen art set for Christmas, so I might be experimenting with a storybook kind of style soon. You know, when I have time.

Also, I might post some of my papers from the nonfiction class, because it's awesome.

I haven't been able to play my violin or draw since about March. I'm not sure what my problem is, I just feel like I can't. Every time I get near the charcoal or the fiddle I feel I shouldn't, or I don't want to.

So, I'm sorry I haven't put anything up here for so long. I just can't. I don't know how long this will last. Probably until I'm not depressed anymore. My birth control pills have only done so much. So I guess that means I won't be drawing again for a few years, when I'm done with college.

I miss the summer already. I went to work, coded, did math, and fit pulsar pulse profiles to graphs, and I came home. It was simple and fun for me. Now I don't have time for my pulsars with classes. I feel the only thing I really have is novel writing, which is my favourite class this semester, and it's making me rethink being a physics major. I hate physics. I'm terrible at it. I only like astrophysics. So I don't know what to do.

But Deviantart isn't the place for existential crises. It's a place for art, something I don't have anymore. I hope it comes back. It might. I don't know what it is I have to get over, but maybe I'll get over it soon. This place will be the first to know.

The following are various characters I've made up over the years.

01. Fring - from my first novel, this girl is a golden fairy chick who is bipolar and more clever than she lets on.

02. Fritzer Witzerspark - also from my novel "The Innocence," Fritzer is a strange silver-and-blue coloured alien who's dead sexy and knows it. He's a psychotic genius who steals ships and sells them to fund his experiments.

03. Reyon - another "Innocence" character, Reyon is a complete enigma. Cute and quiet, with a tendency to raise himself from the dead.

04. Sysper - mysterious energy being with a habit of making people miserable.

05. Quin - a lonely guy with strange abilities. Very sweet.

06. Princess - How could I forget the AI of the Innocence? Don't fly on this ship, whatever you do.

07. Lee - a meek astrophysics professor who ends up on a strange adventure

08. Lynae - a wolf in sheep's clothing. She's beautiful and sweet, but leaves scars in her wake.

09. Kit - traveling companion in my second NaNo novel. He's a little weird, but you get used to it.

10. Laura - girl with alternate personalities. She's the central one, and created her alters to escape from an abusive and stressful life.

11. Star - the first alter Laura creates. I figure she counts as a separate character. She knows things that would drive anyone mad, which is why Laura broke off from her.

12. Mr. Ainsworth - a character I've used twice, with Quin and with Laura. He's a teacher who notices when something's wrong with his students.

01) Who would make a better college professor, 6 (Princess) or 11 (Star)? What subjects would they teach?
Haha. Star, although she would be the most ADD prof ever. Not unlike my profs, actually. She would teach astronomy or some high-level physics. If Princess were a prof, people would die.


02) Do you think 2 (Fritzer) is hot? How hot?
Fritzer is the hottest character I've ever made up. I actually had a crush on him while I wrote the novel. He's hotter than David Tennant.

03) 12 (Mr. Ainsworth) sends 8(Lynae) on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?
Oh man. I guess it would be a mission of self discovery, so she learns how to not ruin people's lives. With Ainsworth as a guide, it would probably work.

04) What is or would be 9's (Kit) favorite book?
He doesn't have a favourite anything.

05) Would it make more sense for 2 (Fritzer) to swear fealty to 6(Princess) or the other way around?
Kind of both ways. Fritzer has had to submit to Princess's madness before (I mean, when the ship decides to vent the atmosphere, you should be nice.) But then he can reprogram her eventually. Hmm.


06) For some reason, 5 (Quin) is looking for a roommate. Should he share a studio apartment with 9 (Kit) or with 10 (Laura)?
Laura, because they could help each other heal and be friends. Kit would just be mean.

07) 2 (Fritzer), 7 (Lee) and 12 (Mr. Ainsworth) have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
They would go to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, and they would discuss black hole theory. It's Fritzer's goal in life to go into one, Lee's main interest, and Ainsworth would find it interesting too.

08) 3 (Reyon) challenges 10 (Laura) to a duel. What happens?
That just wouldn't happen. Reyon doesn't fight people, ever.

09) If 1 (Fring) stole 8's (Lynae) most precious possession, how would s/he get it back?
She wouldn't. Fring is too good at stealing, and hiding, and ass-kicking. Lynae is out of her league.

10) Suggest a title for a story in which 7 (Lee) and 12 (Ainsworth) both attain what they most desire.
"Like seeks like."

11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 (Sysper) and 1 (Fring) to work together?
Sysper would show up, announce the doom of the universe, and ask the long-lived Fring to help out somehow.

12) If 7 (Lee) visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
Fantastically. She's kind of based upon me. I hope I would get along with myself.

13) If you could command 3 (Reyon) to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?
He's good at fixing things, but I don't have anything that needs fixing at the moment. But that would be it.

As frickin' awesome as my school is, I'm not sure if I'll have access to a scanner. There must be one in the library, or maybe I can use the one in the press room, but there's the possibility that I won't be able to scan in anything for a while. Say, Christmas break.

So, Luna, Jack, and DBAYL's mom will be drawn, you just won't see them for a while. Unless I can access a scanner. For free.

My Harry Potter is almost finished. Talk about getting sick of projects. This one was ridiculous...I just kind of gave up toward the end. The best part is he's too big for my scanner. I could take a photo, but that would ruin him. So just imagine a really awesome portrait of Harry Potter, and there you go.

So, that's all from me for a while. I'll have an awesome laptop at school, but I actually haven't ordered it (options make me decide very slowly). So I'll be back in a week. Maybe two.

1) Sci-fi addiction

The only television I watch is Sci Fi Friday and Stargate Monday. I'm weird like that. Sometimes I unplug the phone in order to better view this.

2) Easy obsession

I tend to latch onto things very quickly and never let go. For instance, Doctor Who is my new lover. (Or so I wish). I guess that's a weird thing in itself, but let's move on.

3) Taste in guys

Seriously, I couldn't be weirder regarding this. Most girls don't go for short, nerdy ones.

4) Invisible watch

I don't need a visible watch to tell time. All I do is consult my invisible watch. I'm usually right if someone asks the time and I don't look at a real watch. I guess that's a weird ability.

5) Pi infatuation

I can recite pi to more decimal places than is healthy.

6) Hand washing

I am almost obsessive-compulsive when it comes to washing my hands. I must wash them often, or I get twitchy.

It's just that I have too many blogs. I think I've betrayed my soul with this...I've started using my LJ more often than my Blogger blog, something I swore never to do. But it has happened. And this place is just a forlorn, forgotten spot on my Deviant page.

Um, what's new in Fring's life...I just got stuff from MIT in the mail about Campus Preview Weekend, I'm excited about going. That will be half my spring break.

Exams are over. I didn't fail AP Chem like I thought I would. I believe two people are dropping that class, so we'll have...five people total in AP Chemistry. Three people are also dropping AP Bio, so we'll have 12 people in there. Meanwhile, three more are joining us in BC Calc, so the total is up to 11. That won't be nearly as much fun.

Anyway, just using this thing for once. I visited relatives this weekend. Not fun. Well, kind of fun.

I finished Jack and three cartoons for the paper. I think I'm completely done with everything for the paper, but tomorrow I go in for final edits. I'll be at school until who knows when. Ugg.

I now find myself in between drawings. I thought of maybe drawing Harry Potter, but I can't find any good pics. Does anyone have any suggestions? Either for a good reference pic, or another person to draw?

I guess I never did that Beckett pic, or the Zelenka one. I could do more SGA stuff. Maybe SG-1 stuff? Mayhap another Star Wars pic.

It was a normal school day and all. Then it was time for the Science Olympiad team meeting, and I'm chatting with Helen and Meryl. All of a sudden, Edward is poking me on the shoulder. I am confused. He tells me to look over, and my mom is there, crying, with a load of my friends. She's holding a tube. It says "MIT" on it.

I grab the tube and run out of the room. I open the tube. I read a paper in the tube. Mr. Reed had to keep me from falling over.

I still can't believe it. This is just too awesome.

I'm also written a Serenity review and a news brief. I'm a reviewer, reporter, and cartoonist. However, my actual position is copy editor. I have yet to edit anything. This makes me nervous for some reason.

In truth, the application for *US* residents is due October 1! What kind of crap is that? So I had to global express it, and even then they said it will probably take five business days. I'm so screwed. Bastards. Why can't it take two days? It's only a five-six hour flight over there! It's only a two hour drive from london to oxford! Bastards, all of them. Die.

And heaven forbid it can be faxed! Oh no, the whole thing has to be mailed...grrrrr....

Anyhoo. I'm frantic. If it doens't get there in time I won't be going to my second choice school...damn them all, stupid different days for different countries..honestly, you'd think the earlier date would be for the students in the country, not for those of us who have to mail everything for a week.
