EDIT: It came a little more than an hour after I wrote up the journal and was, interestingly enough, a literature piece. With a mature content warning no less!

Meh, at least I feel a LITTLE better about my random stories being on here.

Over Christmas break, I will be working on the next chapter of Underworld Legions (plus whatever else I feel like doing

) and if not posted by Christmas, then by New Year's it'll be up! I'm also starting a new job soon, so I may still not be completely available. I'll try my best though.

Item 2 - Christmas Plans: Nothing special, just stayin' with the family. When I was younger, sometimes we'd go up to my Dad's relatives for Christmas, but nowadays economic circumstances have largely precluded travel plans for Christmas. I wouldn't mind so much were it not for the fact that this trend is not likely to end soon... :/

Item 3 - "Health Care Reform": Yeah, yeah, you're probably tired of hearing about it. But this is THE ENDGAME. The first Senate cloture vote passed at 1:00am today (that's right, they did it at 1 IN THE MORNING) and the second one to end debate at 7:00am Tuesday (which means a Senate all nighter?).

I don't know about you, but why vote at those times in particular, unless the Democrats are trying to physically wear down the opposition? Something doesn't smell right here. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, Tuesday at 7:00am is either "game over" or "victory" for the health care reform that's been debated for the better part of the year. As they say in show biz, STAY TUNED...

I feel so honored...

My friends from DDF watching here will understand the significance of this. For those that don't, Spookymon is something of an RPing tradition that occurs on that forum around this time of year. In fact, an earlier year's Spookymon was what got me interested in RPing in the first place, and now I'm GMing this year's incarnation!

The idea was basically a version of Clue with Digimon characters. Interesting, no? I hope to God I don't screw this up...

Item #2: It's Back To School Time!

Yep, I start a week from today. I don't know how that's going to pan out, but I am a senior so this will (hopefully) be my last year in college!

Item #3: "Hope" and "Change"
Because I'm on the subject of changing things, I want to talk about whatever happened to those things. Tou know, what the President of silver tongue promised you and me?

I'll grant Obama deserves his spot in history because of his silver tongue (he might have done well in the ancient Athenian democracy because of that) and being the first African-American elected to the office, but other than that his administration is rapidly degenerating into a joke. And guess who the joke's on? Us. The U.S.A., mostly on those who voted for him because of the economy going south when it did, and now finding out to their regret that they can't exactly trust him.

I wasn't taken in by his speeches for a second. I voted McCain-Palin in the election, and I'm glad I did. The jig is up, Democrats; no one is trusting you on things now. Call me a crazy conservative if you will, but Obama is falling fast and hard, that can't be denied or skirted any longer. And we wouldn't be in the predicament we are in now if people hadn't let Obama's silver tongue hypnotize them into believing he was going to be moderate. >.<

Seriously, it won't kill you to listen to Rush Limbaugh or Glen Beck or Michael Savage just once. You may even find that they understand things better than Obama and the other Democrats do.

Right now I am currently "weeding" my favorites list (which has gotten out of hand if you've seen it :/), trying to hide what's already subcategorized in various divisions. The problem is that when I go beyond page 5, I can't directly hide what I want to hide. Instead, DA sends the stuff to page 1, which is unneeded extra hassle. >.<

I'm going to try a new approach to doing things and see if that helps.

Oh yeah, the other screwy thing is that my relatives didn't come due to a last minute change of plans. Apparently they are going to see a relative of theirs (not mine directly) with leukemia.

I'm not complaining, but I'm not thrilled either. Oh well...

EDIT: Finally figured out a way to work around the quirks and cleaned out my faves to a decent state. I must have ten collections or so though...

I don't know if I've mentioned this yet, but I've been helping my parents paint the house over the past two weeks. It's almost done now, so hopefully not too much longer getting paint stains on my clothes and bare-skinned arms... >.<

Item 2: Money...
Bought a new 8GB USB drive yesterday (my old one was 128 MBs only, just didn't cut the mustard anymore), and I got to be careful how I spend my money considering I'll probably have to do $250-300 for school textbooks. Thank goodness for financial aid!

Item 3: Relatives
My aunt Monica (mom's sister), uncle Andre and cousin Kenny are coming later this week to visit. There's going to be a family trip to a local amusement park (the closest thing to a summer vacation we'll have considering the economy these days >.< ) on Friday, hopefully that'll be fun. Relatives always makes for an interesting experience... :/

Item 1: Mechanical Mischief
Two things of note occurred in the past 48 hours. The first was two days ago our phone line was out overnight due to Time Warner (the cable company) doing "experimenting" uptown, and stayed out overnight. Then to make matters worse, I am woken up by my brother the following morning (yesterday morning) to find that the toilet tank (not the bowl) overflowing and running into out basement (there's a direct connect via ductwork) >.<

Turns out after my mom (the last one who used the bathroom) flushed after "doing her business" and then went to her health club, the float valve stuck and as a result didn't shut off, overflowing the tank with (relatively clean) water. Not much was damaged and my brother and I (the only ones in the house at the time) got it all cleaned up, but it was annoying as heck to wake up too!

Let's hope that this was an isolated incident... >.>

Item 2: Extra Income (Sort Of)
Today my agenda was to cash in a paycheck and then use one of those Daystar machines to convert a bag filled with coins into hard cash to put into my checking account. Grandma had saved those for me and my siblings before she died, and I got quarters and half-dollars and dollar coins (some Susan B. Anthony dollars, others the Eisenhower dollars as big as your palm ^^) After separating out a few coins and saving them (plus a few rarely-seen $2 bills!), my plan was:

1. Take coin bag to local grocery store and convert to hard cash using Daystar machine and deposit into checking account (done, but not without some trouble because it wouldn't accept the Eisenhower dollars and ultimately jammed the thing as a result, costing me time :/ )
2. Convert remaining coins at bank and deposit into checking account (couldn't do it because my bank closes at the much-too-early hour of 3pm >.<

3. Deposit my paycheck into savings account (couldn't do that either, ATM won't do after-hours savings deposits apparently

)

So (sigh), only going one for three I'll have to try again tomorrow.

And yeah, that's it. More writing is coming, but I'm not in the mood to do anything but browse. Maybe tomorrow...

If you search on YouTube for Sonic 3 music, you'll probably come across a video or two claiming that Michael Jackson composed the soundtrack for Sonic 3 (and anyone who's heard it knows how good it is

), presenting as evidence comparison clips that, as a whole, are fairly convincing. However, it doesn't prove the theory; they could just be "inspired by" or "emulating" instead of "composed by".

Without going into detail, the short conclusion on the story (as presented @ [link] ) is that:
"When all the data is added up, there is no conclusive proof that Jackson had anything to do with Sonic 3 outside of Roger Hector Howard Drossin, and Cirocco's testimony. No documents have surfaced, no actual tracks, no betas with his name in it - nothing. On the other hand, nothing conclusive has surfaced to the contrary either. We have several accounts that nothing was ever made official, but they say nothing about whether or not Jackson actually composed music...

That doesn't mean, however, that Jackson never had any involvement at all. Our theory is that whatever work he did was off the books, and any chance of any of it ever been green-lighted by Sega management was killed as soon as the Chandler (sex scandal) case broke. The two powerhouses had a history together in both the arcade and on the Genesis... This shows that Sega of America hadn't blacklisted Jackson after his 1993 scandal, but a desire to distance itself from him for a while is not only understandable, it's just plain common sense."

So for now, the jury is out. However, it may not be for long; now that MJ has passed on, someone at Sega may yet confess the truth, either to honor him or to put the rumor to rest for good, or more conclusive evidence of his involvement in the Sonic 3 soundtrack may be found somewhere in the recently-revealed "endless" trove of unreleased music [link] .

OK, I think a little explanation is called for. The job where I am working for the summer is basically a place where science kits are assembled and other orders for chemicals are filled. As such I am exposed to all kinds of things (hopefully not increasing my chances for cancer in the process) including, yes, strong acids.

To make a long story short, I now have two small acid burns on my body, one on my left leg and the other on my right arm near the crook of the elbow. The first one I got about 2 weeks ago when I spilled a drop of sulfuric acid on my pants while filling a kit, subsequently eating a hole in said pants (>.<

and leaving a little red mark on my leg. The second one occurred earlier today when some of the same stuff splashed into the crook of my elbow and ate through the smock I was wearing to attack my arm! Thankfully, I got it off quickly, but now there's a brown spot on my arm that's painfully obvious if I wear short sleeves. >.> Maybe I'll put a bandage on it to hide it...

Yep, fun times... (sigh)

OK, so I'm a little late on the punch. So sue me.

Anyways, part of the reason for making this journal was that as I am half-Canadian (my dad "came south" to go to school, met my mom... and you can guess the rest

), I feel obliged to at least mention Canada Day (and a couple other holidays not usually celebrated in the U.S.A.) in my journalings. ^^

The other reason is that I have several parts of my ongoing fanfic series ready to upload, I'll probably do those tomorrow or Friday (three-day weekend FTW!

). Also, I'm going to be putting in a cross-linking system in the comments so that the series can be followed more easily. I've seen others do it, and I feel foolish for not doing it myself sooner.

That will probably come soon as well.

Anyways, I saw the movie (have to take both movies back now though) and started playing the game, which was the fun challenge I expected it to be.

The reviews I've read say its short though, I hope I don't go through it too quickly...

As for those of you expecting DEVIATIONS out of me, don't worry, they're coming! I've got Part 3 of Metallic Ascent ready to go, and probably something of King Sonic and Underworld Legions soon as well. Stay tuned for further updates...

Honestly, I'm a little lacking in enthusiasm at the moment for DA work, so don't be surprised if you don't hear anything for the next two weeks. Until then... peace out!

IMO, this reflects the mindset of WAY too many people leading up to and after Election Day, and its only now that those taken in (for lack of a better term) by Obama's silver tongue are realizing that they have created something they are, at best, uneasy with, and likely isn't possible to realize given politics as it is. The backlash on Democrats will be hard, particularly if the liberal push is hard.

I never went with "Obamamania", voted for McCain/Palin in the election, cringed at Obama's actions. I hope for the sake of this country that Obama's promises come up empty and that Americans in general at least consider that "the right-winged extremists" might actually be speaking the truth...

. It was waiting for me at the store when I got out of work today and I picked it up a few hours ago. Apparently the mistake was on THEIR end, not mine, but does it matter much?

Oh, and also I put down the rest of the store credit toward the Wii version of New Super Mario Brothers, which looks pretty interesting. I haven't opened and played the game yet because I still want to watch the second movie first (didn't do that tonight because I rewatched the first movie with commentary on instead, planning on the weekend doing that and then getting to the game)

In the meantime, any information on either those that have actually played the Ghostbusters game or the Wii New Super Mario Brothers would be welcome to post it here.

OK, good news - bad news time...

GOOD NEWS: I was able to get to the store and refund the incorrect version of the game for store credits.

BAD NEWS: They don't have the Wii version to fill the order at the moment, and I'll have to wait until at least Monday for any more information on it, so I have NO idea when I'll get the right version of the game.

GOOD NEWS: The Wii version is cheaper than the XBox 360 version, so I have some extra store credit. Because of this, I can make lemonade out of this (sort of

) lemon and get a second game cheap!

Now if only I could think of what would interest me...

Oh yes, still need to watch second movie, probably will do that tomorrow after work. I guess Part 3 will wait until Monday. Until then, any information you might have on how good the game is will be appreciated...

Watched the first Ghostbusters movie tonight, planning on the second tomorrow. I'm trying to educate myself for the new Ghostbusters game which I had pre-ordered and was REALLY interested in. Sadly though, I ran into a hitch, and I'll have to wait at least one more day before I can play.

It turns out that I had pre-ordered the game for the wrong system (XBox 360 as opposed to the Wii I have) and didn't know about it until I got home with it.

Thankfully, it's still in the wrapper and I have the receipt, so I'm pretty sure I can get the right version of the game or at the very least a refund of the preorder money, I'm going to be VERY pissed if I can't do either. >.< Wish me luck, I'll update you on what happens afterwards...

I have the discretion to refuse any text that is pirated or otherwise violates copyright laws (and will report the submitter!), as well as texts containing content above PG-13 level (if it needs the mature filter, I won't do it!).

Payments: I will accept these by PayPal in American currency ONLY; if you do not have a PayPal account, I will not take the job. It's not THAT hard to get one.

All payments are predetermined and NON-NEGOTIABLE unless you are a frequent customer, in which case you can get a discount.

Pricing: $2.00 flat fee per submission + per-word payment:
0-500 words -> $2.00 + $(# of words times .02) = base payment
501+ words -> $2.00 + $(# of words times .01) = base payment
There is also a labor surcharge of $1.00 for each hour worked on a submission beyond the first hour.

Misc: Please leave contact information with your posting, and please do not pester me about when it will be done. I will note you when it is done, so please don't bug me about it OK?

Anyways, I can't draw very much other than doodles, so mostly what I'm doing here is fanfiction drabbles on various topics: Sonic, Spyro, Digimon and other topics that interest me. I'll put them up as I can write them.

I can work with GIMP and Paint reasonably well, so yes you will get pictures, but most of which will be related to the fanfiction. All of that is for later though. See ya then!
