WHY HELLO THERE.

Things have been pretty awesome lately, though I'm wondering why the majority of people I e-mail don't reply D:. Argon has manage to scrape his head into oblivion, so he's got all kinds of sores on top of his eyes and the back of his head- that iguana has really changed from being up north in that cage to being back here where he's got the entire porch. He's a lot friendlier, but a huge amount more active, so he's hurting himself more often. Thank goodness for Neosporin.

This girl is a huge tracer and refuses to admit it even after being confronted with overlays of her traced work. She flags all comments harboring links to the overlays as spam because she doesn't want to face the music.

She even blocked me, and said I had no proof and that my comments were "stupid" when I confronted her about her tracing.

So tomorrow is November 4th, voting day, and in California there will be a ballot that will change a lot of people's lives: Proposition 8- for or against. How may I express my rage?

Love should never be a question for those that are outside of the relationship. Love should also never be decided by lawmakers that can't get their heads out of church while dealing with matters of state. Who's RIGHT is it to dictate whom shall marry whom? It certainly isn't a group of people that believe that a certain couple is wrong: they're not the ones in the relationship and personally, it's none of their business.

I respect religion and other people's views, but do NOT step over into another person's privacy. If someone is living their life in a way that you may disagree with, sucks for you. It's not your life, and their decisions are not your decisions to make. Christianity needs to shut it's arrogant, hypocritical, and hate-inspired mouth and realize that there's a whole lot of diversity in the world and it's not Christianity's responsibility to regulate it.

Also, it's not like marriage between a man and woman would become any less traditional or any less sacred.


It's time Church got it's ass out of state. We need Democracy and reason, not biased ( or even fearful) opinions. If you love and respect your god, that is YOUR choice. Do not force this choice on others.


And those who fight for Prop. 8, thus abolishing the basic rights of love for their fellow human beings, shame on you. Shame on you. Amendment 1 gives you the right to express that you feel homosexuality is wrong, but there should be NO law, NO RIGHT to keep two people apart. I don't care what you believe in.


So tomorrow, I hope that those who will vote will vote wisely. Think of how many lives you'll destroy if the law is passed. Think about how the country will not move forward because bigotry, bias, and foolishness replace a clear voice of reason, tolerance, and understanding.



Think before you vote yes on Proposition 8.

Boy oh boy, when I think I'm on a roll..I suddenly get sick! I randomly woke up with a cold this morning and feel like I've been hit by a ton of bricks. I can't BELIEVE this has happened. Not only is it summer, when you're least likely to get sick...but I am very rarely sick. I hope I get over it soon..I hate having a sore throat ><.


Because of this, commissions may go slower until I get better. Damn illness..WHERE DID YOU COME FROM!?


On the more interesting side, I'm thinking about picking up some copic markers. I do a lot of commissions with Prismacolor markers, and have a great collection of them...but copics are just so expensive, aren't they? I'm hoping to afford at least skin color and grayscale some time soon.

OH! Also! I got hired! I got hired I got hired! Finally I got hired as a comic artist! It'll start in September, the pay is good and the boss is amazingly nice. This is the best job I could ever ask for and I thank whatever force in the Universe kept me in mind when I was whispering desperately about needing a job, hahaha!

I'm currently looking around for a part-time, or full-time art-related job that'll last me into college. It's a way to keep practicing art, while building my portfolio- because the major I'm going in to will probably limit my free time. Hopefully it works out! ALL ARTISTS! BEWARE OF THIS SCAMMER!

I'm wondering what's going on. I've been employed by and was supposed to go on salary May 15th. The meeting discussing my salary took place on May 9th. I sent a note through DA and an e-mail asking what the outcome of the meeting was. He replied saying he was sick, and mentioned nothing about my salary, the meeting, or the contract we were going to draw up.

BEWARE! I commented multiple times on his page asking where he was and were my money was, other artists started requesting where their money was as well! But he flagged each of our comments as "Spam". DO NOT WORK FOR THIS GUY. He will rip you off and leave you hanging

I've checked by his page, and he does pop on DA a few times, but is never on Skype where I can message him. My latest note- sent in June, was pretty straight forward. I asked plainly about my salary, what the investors decided about the meeting, and asked about the contract. I have gotten no reply.

But interestingly enough..he HAS been on DA, and he's got enough time to favorite someone's artwork...but not to reply to my note..even when I messaged him on his page that he HAD a note waiting for him.Two commissions remain unpaid, my "salary" is up in the air, and I've gotten no messages back.


I'm really hurt. Since he had paid me up until now..I was hoping that this salary would help me pay for college- something that I really need because my family and I do not have enough money to pay for it ( I come from a single-parent home). It seemed like a Godsend to me because with me being a bio-major ( going on into Herpetology)..I was afraid I'd have to give up my art. With this job, I thought I'd be able to both pay for my college and keep doing something that I really love. Now a lot is up in the air.


So I leave you with this- DO NOT TRUST THIS COMMISSIONER. It's a scummy, slime-bag scam artist that'll rip off your artwork. Who knows what he's using it for! And you'll never hear from him again!

Well, I'm out of school! Now it's time to pile on commissions so I can get ready for college. Slots will be extended to a whopping 15 openings, since this will replace a part-time job. My goal is 5000, which would be a start to getting myself up on my feet when I'm out on my own!

I think I've been on a fan art rampage, haha. It's mostly because I'm yearning for another good Mana game, which hasn't really come since the days of Legend of Mana. SquareEnix is too busy pumping out Final Fantasy ( an awesome, in my opinion, that died with 7's hype. 9 was okay, but Garnet brought it down ) to think of us poor little Mana fans.

Well, I figured it's time to update the journal. It's been about a month now, haha.


Sucky things have happened today. I found out that I wasn't chosen for scholastics to move on to round two. It's really dampened my spirits, because I struggled to create 8 all-new pieces for the competition, all colored in a medium which is not usually used in the competition ( i.e., prismacolor markers), and I did try to create my pieces with at least some originality, but apparently it wasn't quite what they were looking for.

Ugh, I gotta say, it doesn't make me feel so great. I desperately need money for college, coming from a single parent home with modest pay, but hey, life throws at you what it will, and to my surprise, I'm not so crushed that I feel entirely defeated. I didn't have a lot of hope for that scholarship, but hope, no matter how small, sucks when it's dashed, you know?

But this just gives me or incentive to get better! I'm sure that it was my various flaws that override the artwork..maybe I should have used references? I should have paid attention to the ridiculous emphasis I put on things and maybe just let pure, fine art show through?

But then again, everyone does that. Fine art is beautiful, but where is the creativity in something you copy from life? Technical skill sure makes up for that, but my technical skill is mediocre, so right now..creativity is all I have.


BUT HEY! Life goes on, and so will I, and I'll continue to bust ass to get better, haha! It's not so big a loss, but every defeat makes you strive harder for victory, huh? This means I just have to work harder!

So, if you may have noticed, I've been really beefing up with the updates. It's because I really need to win the regional scholastics for my Senior year, which will give this poor kid a free ride to college. I pray to GOD that these artworks come out as good as I hope, and good enough to impress the board who'll judge them.

I HOPE I WIN! Not only is the award prestigious, but 10,000 dollars is a nice prize! Wish me luck! The elemental series I'm currently doing is for the scholastics program...ughhh..my stomach sinks at the thought of sending my work in. I need to win, but will I? I've been busting ass to do so!

In addition to that, I'm slowly getting over my sickness so I'm also doing better in school- another up side to getting into college.


In addition to THAT, I was thinking that most of these elementals should be done in marker because 1) I love my markers and 2) almost no marker work is EVER submitted to scholastics. This gives me a good chance to impress as well as using my favorite medium. Maybe a few will be done in watercolor, but I am seriously thinking about using markers entirely. What do you think?


Also, My iguana is now 52 inches long head to tip of the tail, and 14 inches from snout to vent. This is so amazing, because he's just barely over 2 year old! He's just a baby and yet such a titan. I can't wait until he's a fully grown adult!
