i'm home. from a crazy couple of weeks in south africa. i had the most amazing time, with some really stellar people. namely ~The-InvisibleFriend and his crowd. thank you all for a great time. i also saw some strange sights, and some beautiful people & beaches.

anyway, most of the time i was shooting film. so i have to wait for them to come back from the lab now... eek, i am so excited. and well now, i am super busy, so i must be off.

anyway yesterday i discovered that i can't open any of my raw files here. cause on my laptop i forgot that i hadn't completely installed cs3 properly, so the trial won't work, and i left the crack back in au. *sigh* so you won't be seeing any photography from me for two weeks. big sad face from gen.

but, i am enjoying snapping round here, and thank the heavens for ashraf, otherwise i'd be stuck. stuck inside a retirement village all day & all night, or alternately stuck at kirstenbosch (giant botanical garden) all day.

ohhhh yes i do. well i thought it was time for an update because i bet you're all sick of looking at that photo of me every time you visit my page.. that is if you come back more than once. ANYWAY. i've been uber busy and stressed with the exams. and right now i should be studying, because i have maths on monday, which i will most likely fail..

but onto all things photography! lately my flow of ideas has been coming back, and the shoot with *holythesea and her friend paul was very fun. 9pm out at a secluded graveyard experimenting with very low-light photography then driving to mickey dee's for dinner at midnight. then me locking my keys in the car, and then after a while of standing around saying oh my god. oh no. oh shit and all that jazz.. paul pointed out that my boot was open, so i had to slither in from the back window and unlock it. thank HEAVENS. but it was funny. and i love cait very much and will be spending MORE time with her soon! so expect to see more of her pretty face in my gallery!

anyway, i'm done taking now. i REALLY have to learn to talk less.

well well. lately i have been so busy, and subsequently not had enough time to do shoots. so there has been a lack in submissions. sorry! but there will be some more shoots soon, about teenage lifestyle! yay! that was meant to be this weekend, but i have my singing hsc performance next week so smoking wouldn't be good for that. oh well. it will be after it. btw, i don't smoke, just very occasionally for the aesthetic.

anyway, news in my life. i got a car! yay! i bought it! it's a little 1998 holden barina, and it's a metallic greenish gold! he's called oscar because the guy we bought it from is an actor and it's gold so he named it oscar! so yeah, i now have transport and able to do more shoots! win! and you can see it here.

okay. well, my car is a write off. and that childish rant of mine embarrassed me. but things are looking up. i already have $700 towards a new car that i have been saving up for. i just payed for my car, that's why the lack of money. but, since i payed off $2000 in a year only working one sunday a week, i am sure after the HSC, working full time i will be able to pay off a car loan from my mum easily. mum and i have talked about it, and she thought she was being unfair, and so she has ungrounded me, the only thing is i am not allowed to go to the party this weekend and a continued part of punishment, which i think is fair. so after all that, things aren't so bad. and i'm starting to see that one little accident has taught me a lot about my driving and safety. everyone has a bingle at least once in their lifetime, and i'm hoping this will be my only one. because i have seriously learnt my lesson.

so that's all i have to say. i apologise for ranting on last night, it was childish. and thank you so much to all those people who had kind words to offer me, and for your support of my art. thank you.

Well well. I have been very busy lately, due to preparing for my trial exams which started today. Eeek! Anyway, the exams finish on the 24th, (thank goodness) and after that I will be free-er than I was before.. But still uber busy preparing for the real HSC exams. Double eeek! So that's the reason for my lack of submissions lately..

Well that done, I have a shoot coming up with three gorgeous people in my year. Namely Asher, Lauren and Lucy. Who are all very good looking and tall, and for the girls, model thin. Yay! And for that shoot I will be doing a set of shots on teenage lifestyle. It will be at night, with some vodka, marlboros and bright lights. So stay tuned for that one! I am really excited.

On a different note, it is quite interesting watching my film vs digital film see-saw back and fourth. It began with digital clearly winning the battle, then film surged, but still stayed below digital.. Then film was winning, but only just, and then it was even.. And now digital is winning by one point... Interesting. I think I shall announce the winner at the end of the week when I make a new poll.

Well, as I'm sure you can see I got a new journal skin. Thanks to =dot-Silver! I really like this new one, and just like the last one it's minimalist and sticks to the dA colour palette.

Anyway, other news is that tomorrow I'm going to the snow for the weekend, until Tuesday! Yayyyy! It's gonna be good, and the weather man says there is gonna be more snow tonight, and the snowfalls that have already happened have been excellent! So I am quite excited! Plus, I got some AWESOME bright purple ski pants, and they look great! And so I shall look like a pink-haired-purple-panted-awesome-skier. Hell yeah!

More on the photography front, I am shooting ~BelowDarkWater next week, and as you can see she is very gorgeous, so I'm looking forward to that. And 2 nights ago I went to a party, which was very fun. I had a few beers and a bottle of port, and I am ashamed to say; two Marlboros. Anyway, I brought my film Ricoh along with my flash, and I am picking the negs up next week! I am so excited to see the developed results! Squeee!

I think it's time for a new journal, because I have a headache. I get so bored with having the same ones. So I shall update you on some things. Even thought you probably don't even read this.'

Okay, so tomorrow, I have two shoots. One for Toby, my good friend who I watch Scully & Molder do their thing with (if you don't know who they are, you must live under a rock - they're from the X-Files), I'm doing some photos for him for school, and some of his mum too. May post some here, but not sure yet.

Also tomorrow I'm shooting Maddie, also an excellent friend of mine. She has dark straight bangs, so I'm experimenting with dark eyeliner and red lips. I've also got some red, white and black paint to play around with while I'm doing that shoot. I also will be doing some polaroid shots with her too, and I am so excited about those!

And then hopefully next weekend I'll be shooting Nikita, a stunning girl in my year at school. She's tall, with long dark tresses and legs that go on forever... Basically she looks like a model. She's gorgeous. Anyway, with her I am going to play around with the idea of night shots with flash and sort of paparazzi shots. I think that will be fun, driving around Bowral shooting with her.

Now, finally that is all for now. Goddamn I'm so busy!

Oh wait, there's more. I have a new-found love... Polaroids. I have been buying film so much it is going to make me a homeless person soon! It's so damn expensive... But thanks to The Impossible Project there will be film back on the market next year! Wooo! I'm so excited!

Okay guys, sorry for the inactiveness. But I've been super busy with school, work, music and everything else! I have a photography progress assessment coming up, so I have organised two shoots for next weekend. one for my friend Toby, who needs some photos done for uni, and another of my good friend's little sister Maddie, for some red lippy, straight bangs and dark eyeliner goodness, a concept that has been floating around in my head for a while.

Holidays.
Don't you love them? Well I sure do! Anyway in these holidays which start tomorrow afternoon, I'll be doing a shoot with my two favourite models, *Amelia-Madeleine and =holythesea! It's the violet themed one I polled you guys about! I am so excited for it. But I haven't decided on a location, which I should probably do! So, I have decided to ask you for help! Please comment. But first, here are the details. It will be two teenage girls (lovely thin and pretty ones I might add) with little white dresses on, with bright violet tights, black flats and possibly sunglasses (but maybe not sunnies). I will be using my new lens, which means a really nice short DOF, and pretty bokehs. So please do suggest some stuff... Eg: urban, grassy paddock etc.

My lord, I haven't been so excited since I got my camera! I got a neeeeeeeew lens! It's a Sigma 30mm f1.4! The retail price is $800, and my local Fletcher's Fotographics boss gave it to me for $500! Bargain! The DOF is so amazing, I adore it. I can't WAIT to start shooting with it. Certainly more portraits on the way! Oh and the results of the poll, violet won by a long way, so that's coming up soon too! That's all for today and just now.

Anyway, I'm quite hyap[py lately, just surviving under all the work for year 12. (There's a mountain of it, I swear!) Oh and I won't be here from the 26th of Nov till the 8th of Dec, because my family, my best friend, and another family, we are all driving up the the Whitsundays and spending a week and a bit on a 40ft katamaran! I am so excited. We are just going to sail around there. I have already bought 3 underwater cameras to capture the coral and sea life, and I will also be bringing Katie, my K10D, so when I get back there will be an influx of deviations from me! Anyway, there. I'm done with my procrastination of my musicology essay. Sigh, back to work.

And it's wild and in my backyard! but unfortunately you can't see the baby very well cause she's on the mumma's lap, that's why she looks so fat! :P I was so excited I nearly climbed up the tree to pet it! I hope it lives around our house for the rest of my life!

I will also be doing some preliminary concept shots for my photography major work next year. Oh here's an excerpt, cause I'm just so damn excited about it.

I'M GETTING THE MOST FUCKING-AWESOME-KICKASS-BEAUTIFUL-WONDERFUL COMPUTER EVERRRRR. Cheap too! I'll start telling you about it. I don't know what I'm gonna call her (yes, it's definitely a her) yet, anyway, she has a 22" widescreen monitor (so I can look at beautiful photos properly), 4gb of RAM (yeah, that's right), 320gb of space on the harddrive (jealous yet?) , some very nice speakers, 8 USB ports, brand new keyboard and mouse and an awe-inspiring graphics card, (which unfortunately I can't remember the name of, so much for awe-inspiring). Sound cool? I think yes. It's coming in 3 weeeeeeeeeeks! I'm sooooooo excited. Oh and Janelle is getting me THE WHOLE OF THE ADOBE CS4 CREATIVE SUITE! Hellll yes. I love how she works for Adobe. I love her.

Doesn't it sound nice.

I'm changing. I know it was a very short break, but I was just in a bit of a mood. And with HSC coming and everything like that, I will still be doing my photography as a release and hobby, but I'll probably be doing a little less, 'cause of study.

A new ID. A change. I got my hair cut. I got all the dead bits chopped off, from when I bleached it for the pink. I think it's symbolic.

I have decided to take a break from photography for a while. I don't know how long it will be, but I have a feeling this one will be for a while.

I just have no inspiration. I don't feel the need anymore.

My photography mind is just desolate.

I will still be checking my account, and looking at other art, and replying to comments and what not. I just will not be posting anything new for a while.

I'll let you know when I will begin again.

Well soon, me and ~Amelia-Madeleine will be doing a shoot. The shoot will be for ~Eva-ve for our art-trade. And I will be keeping some just for my normal photography!
The themes are Little Red Riding Hood... Possibly a modern twist on it. And mermaid/s which I am not entirely sure of, but I have some ideas.

Just got back from a 4 day ski trip. =) That's why there's been a lack of activity here from me. But I'm back now!

On the way home. Near Canberra. I'm feeling a bit lonely. I think that photo represents my mood.

I came back to 53 messages to sort through! Meeps! And about 89 deviations to look at. Whew. Got through them now though.

I've posted one photo from the trip up.. But I don't have many others.. Because for some reason I didn't take my camera out much. Quite odd.

Well well.
Do I have some news to tell! It is my birthday next week, on Wednesday.. And as a birthday present my mother bought me a tablet. And so as a result of this, I have submitted my first digital drawing/painting.. I really am in love with it. It's a Wacom Bamboo one.

And lately I've rediscovered Imogen Heap, after forgetting her for a long time. And then listening to a song and it hit me! BAM! Imogen Heap is my kind of music. She's sort of Bjork meets Metric. Perfect!

If you have any tips for beginner drawers, like me, please, I'd love it if you shared them with me!
