What I was trying to say is I'm going to watch the people I WATCH. I can't stop you from watching me, and why would I do that in the first place? I clearly stated my problem was I hate having the number of deviations to look at pile up, especially when life gets busy.

Now, I have found a solution to this. I won't be removing anyone from my watch list because obviously I watched you all for a very good reason. However, I realized there are very few artists that I would like to know when they release something new. I'd comment on it right there on the spot. I'm sure everyone has watched the person that doesn't post anything for 10 months then posts a crap load of stuff all at once. Sorry...I find that annoying, especially when it's like 20 pieces of the same dang thing with a different color <_<.

And journals/news, same thing. There's some people's journals I just happen to read more because I know them on a personal level. Seems if I have a lot to do in 2 days, I'll have 100 journals appear in my messages. There is no possible way I'm going to read 100 journals, it just doesn't work like that.

Now the advantage of not deleting anyone from MY watch list is this: If I get some free time I could say, hey I wonder what so and so is doing, and I can go to their page because they are still on my watch list.

Anyways, sorry if this seems a bit selfish, and hypocritical because we all know I do my fair share of complaining about how much I'm noticed here, but I figure a lot of that complaining was due to the fact that I give a lot of attention and feel like not a lot was given in return. Perhaps if I can keep control of my messages and dev's to view, this site will be a bit more enjoyable. We all have lives you know, and with 2 part time jobs and friends I can't see every day like in college, I'm not going to be as active from time to time.

However, I got some good news! I might be getting a new job where I'd be grading exams of students in photography classes. I wouldn't need to teach because the students that go through this are home-schooled but yeah, could be fun, plus I'd imagine the hours are much more flexible (so I'm not forced to spoil weekend plans lol). Edit: Deviant art relocated my deviation. Apparently my shirtless portrait pictures weren't nude enough for the common person. This took an unfortunate twist in my experiment, so I'm not sure whether or not I should keep it now because it was placed in misc portraits. And for those of you who did not understand the concept, what I was trying to prove was that deviant art has a greater desire to view "naked" portraits than view a concept the artist came up with.

Apparently this is old news, but man alive...I just really fail to see how making a "Christian Version" of everything is beneficial to anyone who is a Christian. It's like, can we not find God in anything that isn't labeled as "Christian version of something?" Have we really become the least creative people on earth?

This is a nice idea for an art project for me. I'm just going to take every creative work of art people make on this site and find a way to make a Christian version of it lol. You know, as a Christian I strongly believe that we're supposed to be a light in this world, to be part of everything here on earth. I fail to see how we're achieving anything by directly ripping off something like "High School Musical." This is not making us part of this world; it makes us look like an uncreative laughing stock for the whole world to see.

I've known Feri for quite a few years now, and I can still remember how I ended up watching her (and oddly enough it wasn't because of her art, but that shortly changed lol). Despite the fact that I love the subjects of her work because the zelda series is one of the greatest series in video game history, and seriously...who doesn't like pokemon lol; she really changes herself to do more than just draw characters against a white background. She pays a lot of attention to how she composes the pieces, and you can definitely see that in these 3 pieces above. Take a look at her gallery sometime, it's ace

Think of life without the internet right now. Think of where or what you would be doing if you didn't have the internet. I am and I'm freaking out, like really really freaking out. For one, I'm no longer an artist. I'm probably in the military.

I've realized something lately. Because of the things I've done online, and stuff that's been influenced just because of the day I decided to start actively participating in forums and sites like dA, there are some people that I've never met that probably know more about me than most people in real life. And you know why? We are here, online, reading stuff just like this. The internet, and more or less dA is a place where you absolutely don't have to worry about feeling like you're outside of social norms of the world. You can present to people exactly who you were without worry that you're going to screw up your words, or get your tongue twisted. There are probably a lot of reasons why this happens, but I believe the one reason is, you have removed your physical identity. People won't take any perceptions based on what you're wearing, what kind of hair cut you have, how much you weigh, what your skin color is, who you're hanging out with, whether you're a jock or a nerd...it just absolutely doesn't matter anymore because for whatever reason you're here right now is more or less the reason we're all here right now, and that enough is a common interest amongst ourselves. That is beautiful.

Now, I believe I've done a complete 180 on this topic. Internet dating. I went from, "meeting someone from the internet? that's weird." I broke that barrier when I had a friend visit me when I was a freshman in college that I met 2 years ago from a forum. From there I went to "It's cool if you like someone you know online, but you can't do anything until you meet this person, in person." And that's still kind of what I believe because obviously you are going to have to interact with them in person for something to go anywhere. Now, after some long thought, and considering what I said above, I do believe it's possible to fall in love with someone that you haven't even met before. It just comes down to a bit of trust and understanding. Approach the situation logically and consider all the possibilities. Think of it like, I've been talking to someone for the past 2-3 years. Even a simple conversation with them can brighten my day up, make me feel like a million dollars. Now ask yourself, are these conversations legit? Is this what the person really means? I ask myself, do I really mean the things I say to people online and in conversations? Yes, I absolutely do, and I hope people believe me when I say that. It's a call they have to make, and well, it's a call we all have to make. Does this person mean everything they've said to me as long as I've known them? I hope they do, because I've meant everything I've said to people. And because of this, because of the things I say to all of you, it's very possible that we have an easier time understanding who we really are from the heart because of something like the internet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we're generally attracted to someone based on our perceptions of who this person is before we see who they are and how they act in a social environment...to me that takes care of the tricky part. How people act in social environments, well hey, to me I've never really got to known many people, and about who they really are by taking them out to a dinner or movie. Yes some people can get to know others that way but I feel like it's just not going to happen for me. It's a very radical way of thinking in the age we live in, and its not exactly accepted because the internet is something very new and I just think we're in a transition stage in human life; where people don't need to interact with people personally to get to know them. This isn't going to be accepted by everyone and I understand that, but all things considered, if people that I interact with on a daily basis in real life knew the ins and outs of my life, I highly believe they would consider my life anything but common. If it wasn't for the internet, I wouldn't have started art. I wouldn't have learned about graphic design. I wouldn't know that some day I could receive 5 daily deviations here. I wouldn't have discovered the love for photography which is what I decided to concentrate on for the rest of my life. And most of all, I wouldn't have met some of the most amazing people I could have possibly ever known because of this site. You consider all those things, and I bring myself back to reality and what I've done in real life, and well...it seems a bit dull. Now guess what. I still don't have a job after applying to probably....40 places, even the places like target, Kohls, best buy...still nothing, not even an interview.

The best part about this is there is absolutely no remorse or any room to feel sorry for yourself, or for anyone to feel sorry for me. We're all facing the same thing, or at least we will at some point in time. So am I complaining that I don't have a job? No, that's my problem and I take full responsibility for that because I could be doing more. However, this doesn't really defeat the fact that it's stressful when you have to keep on top of finding a job to please my parents that I'm making an effort, and helping out your mother because she can't seem to do anything.

You know, it's easy to do stuff in school because if you don't do it, you're going to be in deep crap. It'll be put on your record, and if you don't do good, you get kicked out of college. There's motivation right there. Now here, if I don't please my parents in my job hunting efforts, I'm left with this conflict: Are they going to kick me out of the house when I run out of money? Are they just going to be progressively pissed off and disappointed in me? Give me a bloody deadine already. Tell me, if I don't find a job by this date this date, they're going to do something to me. There's the motivation! But alas, getting a job and leaving this house is motivation enough. It just sucks cause I really love my parents and I understand what they're doing but I dunno, where's the gratification in applying to every place around creation and not even hearing jack crap from them? Kind of makes you feel like shit.

I did find a few things a bit unusual. First off, feel bad for my dad; he was next to a bunch of party animals the whole night. Something about U2 and party animal doesn't really mix well. U2 to me is like a band with a direct message, a band that's involved in the world and wants to help people. However I guess to some people this interprets to 'lets buy beer and get screwed up listening to U2'

I don't know...U2 is probably the closest thing to a Christian band outside of contemporary christian music, but somehow lots of people still enjoy getting f'd up to their music.

Thanks for the recent support on my pictures; I feel like I'm finally getting back into my normal groove. I want to get some new equipment too, but unfortunately I'm unemployed so I really got to watch my money.

I think the fact of the matter is, lots of those active people commenting ended up leaving dA, and not many new people came to replace them. I know the last journal was just a quiz and not many people comment on them, but man...not a very good success rate there. I for one don't really care about a thousand plus watchers. Give me 20 that are active, that actually care for me as an artist, as a person, instead of some guy that shows some people a nice sunset picture every once in a while. I'm probably being a hypocrite on this, but come on, this isn't what art is about.

Second, today was my last day on the job, so I'm out of work. Pray that I can at least get interviews because I know I'm not going to even get a photography job for a while. I might have to work at some fast food places for a while, so if fate has it, I might be doing that for some time.

Third, pray for my mom. She has a detached retina so she's going into surgery Monday. Sounds a lot worse than it is; it seems that this condition called Lattice degeneration runs in my family. Funny thing is, I was diagnosed with it before my mom o_O. Hopefully I won't go blind lol.

Music competition is still going on. And Dream Theater and Tool are still tied......lol. Seriously I don't care, someone vote so we can continue.

Think about this for a second. To me, this is the most amazing part of life. The fact that we have been granted this incredible gift to LIVE, here on earth. Aint that something we could easily take for granted? Of course, because our perception of life is based on what we know, based on what we've experienced in our lives.

Now think about this. There was a time when we weren't here on earth, and there was absolutely nothing for us. Now put that into perspective with a bad day you had. The day you had when you wished you could just skip everything that had happened, a day you wished you just escape from this world and life for a while. Now I ask you, do you really desire that? Do you really believe that the bad things that are happening in your life overtake the fact that we actually have this great chance to experience bad things, and heck, throw good things in there too! To me, it all seems a bit insignificant and when you really put this all into perspective, what we perceive to be good and bad is all part of this incredible gift of life that we have which is probably one of the greatest things we can take for granted. So try to remind yourself from time to time, this might not have been me that could be controlling my body, and I could just be another baby waiting to be born. Life, whether we believe ours to be good or bad is a beautiful thing, so use your time here on earth to live it to the fullest!

Well lets see, where do I start...

Ok, well for those of you that don't know, I've been doing a ton of exercising lately. Been playing Soccer at least 2 times a week, and running at least 2 times a week. I ran 9.3 miles Saturday which makes me feel pretty good seeing how I don't think I've ever done that before without stopping.

I got a haircut too, back to short hair; it was getting long for a while but yeah, always nice to go back to short hair, I get sick of the same hair after a while anyways lol. I'll get some pics of that eventually.

I've been trying to find work in photography companies. So far I haven't had a lot of luck, but I got my portfolio up online now, well, it's being put up soon lol.

I took a break from Art for video games and such, but I feel like I'm gonna start some art soon, so all the collabs that I'm doing with people, you can expect those to get done within the month.

Last, you'll finally be seeing some new pictures from me. I'm going on a camping trip to the badlands in less than a month so I'll be sure to get tons of cool pics from that.

The music competition will happen, you have my word, just got the find the right motivation to get it done.

Haven't been doing much art lately due to the fact that I got a new pc and I've been playing a ton of computer games, like GTA 4, and Icewind Dale (a cool rpg game). Feels good to be into games again, haven't really been into any for the past half year lol.

I've gotten back into exercising, probably haven't been in this good shape since the end of high school so that's awesome. Been playing tons of soccer too which is always nice too.

I cleared out my messages, but still got about 1500 dev's to go through v_v. sorry if you don't get comments or anything, it's a little bit too much to go through all of them and comment on all of the, but hey, it's always nice to see what people have been working on. It's a good video card, 512 memory will be nice for playing computer games like GTA 4, Crysis, Call of Duty World at War, and maybe even Far Cry 2 lol.

It's a quad core AMD phenom processor; not much these days that this thing would have a problem running effectively.

Now when it comes to new motherboards, something I don't fully understand is chip sets. Can you get a motherboard in this day and age that doesn't have a video chipset put into it, or is it just standard? I know you can put seprate video cards into them, but I guess my main concern is if I'm spending more money than I need to on a motherboard with a chipset. If this is something that just comes standard then I'm not going to worry cause dual video cards seems to be the wave of the future anyways, plus it couldn't hurt lol. Anything beats my current 128 mb video card now. So yeah, I'm just looking for a motherboard under 100. If someone finds a good AMD motherboard that would work with that processor and video card and isnt micro, let me know

For me, one thing I miss is playing roller hockey in 3rd and 4th grade during recess at my school. I became so obsessed with hockey, it's literally all I did. I'd play hockey during recess and then I'd come home and play hockey with my brother in the basement and we would end up destroying all sorts of celing tiles lol. My dad would play with us too, and it was a ton of fun. Except for the time he took a slap shot and hit me in the junk. I had to tell him I couldn't play for a few hours XD.

0: It's pretty much a quiz I ripped off and added an extra 2 questions, since 8 is a weird number lol.

10 FACTS ABOUT MYSELF:
1) I haven't gone far location wise in my life, well I have, but I mean where I've lived and gone to school. I went to pre-school right by my house. My grade school was about 15-20 minutes away. My high school was probably 12-15, and so is my college, cause it's practically on the same property lol. I did a semester downtown Chicago and that was probably the farthest I lived away from my house (I live in the south suburbs).

2) My dream job would have been a professional hockey player, but it's too expensive and my parents couldn't afford it. Plus I mean, if you want to go far in it, you probably want to start your kids out around 5. I was about 10 when I got really interested lol.

3) I loved my college, the experience was great, but I felt like I didn't get a lot of help or advice going into the field I want to, which is something like photo journalism or just photography. I love art, but I just don't want to make it my career. Drawing and doing the stuff I show you here is a nice escape from what I HAVE to do.

4) I'm a Christian if you haven't figured that one out yet lol. Things could always be better with my faith, but I think the most important thing to remember is God's love, because without love, and I absolutely believe this; there is no hope for anything.

5) This is something I'm not proud of, but I've smoked pot before, gotten really drunk on numbers of occasions, and smoked cigarettes. I smoke cigars maybe once a month, but it's not something I want to keep with me since it doesn't really do anything good for you. Smoking pot is illegal so I don't plan on doing that, and drinking, well if you're going to drink just be responsible about it. Again, I'm on the fence with it a lot because I am a Christian and really in this day, not much good comes from drinking.

6) Spring is my favorite season even if it's not exactly enjoyable. I just love how it transitions into a sort of rebirth of pants. I just get excited watching that lol.

7) My favorite food is Spaghetti. If you don't like spaghetti, man, not sure we can talk anymore.

8) I work at my college right now. Some days I work as a helper for my friend and supervisor (yeah he's like 2 years older than me lol) and I help set up chairs and tables. Other days I'll clean dorm rooms, mop floors. Today I got to drive a truck woo hoo XD.

9) I'm 22 and single, as I have been for the past 22 years lol. I dunno, I never had one of those "I NEED A GIRLFRIEND" stages in my life. Saved a bit of drama too lol. Nah seriously I would love to be in a relationship with someone, but I guess patience is the best thing.

10) What do I look like? If you don't know what I look like by now, you must not be around my page that often lol. I'm not that big though, I'm about 5'10, and I weigh 170 lbs. And even though I'm into computers, I'd pick playing soccer, hockey, or wwf wrestling over computers every day of my life lol. That kind of goes along with my physical side and why I can eat a lot and not seem to gain much weight. I'm very athletic

She isn't online often, but she's got some of the best traditional talent I've seen for someone her age, if you're into cartoony and sonic like stuff. Check her stuff out!



My good real life friend who left my college for bigger and better things lol. After seeing the stuff he models now I really can't complain, he's extremely talented, but his gallery is definitely worth a view.



This guy might be the redeemer of old school abstract. Maybe that explains why I want to collab with him so much. His gallery is incredible and I don't think he always gets the recognition he deserves, so check his stuff out!



Despite the fact that me and this guy are great friends, his art has improved drastically since I first met him. Looking at his gallery is living proof, and it's no wonder why his stuff is amazing, his work ethic is crazier than anyone I've ever met.



Crystal probably doesn't need this since she gets hits up the wazoo, but eh, check her stuff out anyways lol. Sorry, this is entirely bias v_v



Same case here, Emily has been one of my best friends on dA for the past 2 and a half years, but I don't always feel she's gotten the recognition she deserves! She's improved a ton over the past 2 years, and her gallery can brighten anyone's day up



Despite her cute pastel colored cartoony artwork, lolly might just be the nicest person in the world. Ok, that's a big statement, but seriously, I don't think she can get angry, she has that aura that makes you want to bring out the best in you when you're around her xD. Take a look at her stuff!



This guy's artwork is incredible. Anyone not seeing his stuff is missing out big time.



Take a look at his newest piece now. I nearly died when I realized it had less than 5 comments at the time of my commenting. This guy has too much talent to not be recognized.



Martin was pretty skilled when I met him, and it's extremely evident that he's learning a lot about art at his college because his gesture sketches entitled "figures at the mall" look better than all of mine after an entire semester of drawing lol.



Kina has got good exposure on dA, but what I like about her gallery is even though she does a lot of anthro artwork, she doesn't limit her stuff to only anthro. She's got all sorts of different stuff in her gallery! Check it out



This guy has been there and back again all sorts of times, but his 3d abstract style is something worth recognition. This person above is a very talented photographer who isn't really recognized in the dA community. I checked her gallery out, and she has a lot of amazing photographs in it. However, what I don't understand is in this gallery of wonderful photography, her picture of a kitten by a window was featured a DD.



Don't get me wrong, it's a cute picture that can brighten anyone's day up. However, I feel like I've seen this picture time and time again on dA. Everyone likes pet pictures when they're taken well, but if DD's are being given for something that is fresh in every photographer's head, as in, taking pictures of pets and calling it "my "insert animal species here,"" where is the encouragement for creativity? Where is the par? I feel like some DD's I see are kind of like a "well I needed something to fill at that time" and if this is the case, where is this pride in getting a DD? I'm just not feeling it anymore

Anyways, good news and bad news now. The bad news is my computer is fried, but at least my hard drives are fine (because I got really important stuff on them D: ). The good news is I'm going to upgrade my computer entirely with some new sweet parts, even though I have to pay for them, but graduation money will help out with that, and yeah, I'M GRADUATING! However, I'll still have to look for a solid job. So there's a lot of good things happening, but there always seems to be some unfortunate side effect that comes with it lol. Oh well, looks like my recent dA activity surge will die down now. I'll have everything set up by Monday and my messages will be filled with crap again. 136 watchers are active out of 1,249 are active XD. Wow...that's about an 11% success rate XD.

In other news, I've overdone myself.

Congrats to , you are my 1000th watched person! Congrats! Now the question is, can I possibly keep up with the flow of watching 1000 people on dA and still have time for real life stuff? Probably not XD. Fortunately school aint gonna get in the way anymore. However my job might lol.

But yeah back to the point of this journal. 11% of my watchers appear to be active here, and well...out of the 136, probably 5 of them actively comment on my stuff lol. It just seems odd, and I know we all got our lives and some of us have our messages piled up to kingdom come, but seriously, 6?! The piece I'm talking about is this one:

I like this whole submitting art again thing too, thanks for everyone that's been giving me comments and fav's, I appreciate it. And I'd like to thank all the new people who have decided to watch me, hope I give you a summer full of awesome art!

And since I don't really do commissions, I do the next best thing - try to make a profit off my prints. It is a bit of money and I understand completely if you can't buy my stuff; the majority of my watchers are my age and younger so if you don't have money, no biggy, nothing really comes easy anyways lol.

I'm currently working on a collab with ~bionfant which should be pretty hot. Just something for you people to look forward to. Also, now that I can kind of do what I want with art, I decided to try some more anthro type stuff/collabs with some people. There's a lot up in the air right now, but hopefully you'll start seeing some stuff in the next few weeks.

Last, it's good to be back here. Lets see if I can get to that 200k pageview mark before...haha I was about to say before school started up again, but I keep forgetting I'm done. I don't really know the reality in this, feels weird. Anyways, peace people, thanks again for following my work, appreciate every bit of it.

These statistics still kind of baffle me because I recall at one point, I was trying to get over 2 favorites per deviation. I now average over 50 lol. But anyways, what I really made this journal for was to point to my new webcam. I feel bad when people give me watches and I never have time to go through all of them and thank the people, so I made a little icon to show people that even though I don't really thank my new watchers and people who favorite'd my work, I still really appreciate it all.
