There was a mention of it in the latest issue of a local gaming mag, and I recalled playing this as a kid and thinking it was the absolute bomb... an interactive movie, couldn't possibly get better than that! Well, despite my lack of visible activity (though I've still been checking in on folks' stuff regularly) I've been very busy behind the scenes developing a new style, a new approach to my artwork.

A while ago I got a hold of a copy of a program called Poser, which allows me to create characters and poses in 3D which I can then use for reference (like advanced digital versions of wooden posing mannequins). FNB Social Upliftment Intro

The music makes a very big difference to the simple visuals, giving an indication of just how powerful the right music can be!

The kids pictures shown in that clip were actually drawn by my team, since we were on a tight schedule with the project (otherwise we had planned to go to a local school to get their help)... it was really funny watching 23-year olds drawing with crayons, tongues stuck out in concentration.

How cool is this... I managed to get on a list to trial-run an Xbox 360 + Halo 3 + 32inch Samsung plasma HDTV for 10 days!

It's a promotion being run by an agency called Instant Grass, who have Microsoft as one of their clients, so they've been able to get hooked up with a number of these sets to send out to people, so the next 10 days (out of work hours) are going to be spent experiencing the joys of having a console... planning on having a party as well, get people to come round and try out the multiplayer features with beer and pizza included.

I got some sort of freebie in the latest issue of a gaming mag I read... for people who play Guild Wars, specifically the Eye of the North expansion... I think? (Dunno if that's out yet). I made a DVD movie for the University of Cape Town choir, of a concert we did last year... intended purely for personal and non-profit use (the movie that is)... and discovered that one of the choir members has put pieces of it up on YouTube! I've gotta repeat that I made the movie with the intention of it only being for personal use, so I sincerely hope that folks aren't going to get riled up over the use of copyrighted music (all in the credits) an' so on in that movie. Our newest cat, the one sitting on my shoulders in the devID, has been missing for three days... so the first thing my mother did this morning was call the nearest veterinary hospital to see if one matching his description had been brought in.
