I think I should probably start drawing again. It's been so long it's almost weird to think that I used to draw every day. Of course, that was when I was in school, and...I drew on my homework. I'd come up with ideas and junk that way, and then draw it better on not-margins.

First of all, Happy Pi Day!
Secondly: Okay so I'm going to the San Diego Comic Con in July, and I'm not sure if any of my friends are going with me. The four-day passes are all sold out, so it would be really expensive to do all four days now. I'm just wondering: Are there any other deviants who will be there? I would really love to just meet up with someone and be able to wander around with them. It'd be pretty lame otherwise.
I'll be staying at my aunt and uncle's (very nice) house, so if you're cool enough and I get to know you online in the next four months, then you could stay there too, maybe!

I've accidentally gotten into photography quite a bit recently. I never really was into it; the fact that anyone at all could pick up a camera and shoot a wonderful picture always kept me thinking that there's almost no talent to it. But ever since I bought my fairly nice Fuji camera, and experimented with it, I sort of changed my mind. There are so many components to a good photo, I think I'm really starting to understand what it's about. I still love drawing and painting, but photography is just a lot simpler, really. It's so easy to get frusterated while trying to draw something, and getting all the right materials...but for me, photography is a fantastic excuse to go out and do something fun and take great photos while I'm doing it. It's a way to get out of being depressed. A wonderful, artistic, simple-ish hobby.
I'm rambling. Basically I'm saying, I'm going to be uploading more photos. You can also look at them on my flickr, where I mass upload them (at least compared to dA.) Go lookit!

Wow, so it's been...five months since I last updated my journal? That's a pretty long time.

Stuff that's been going on!

I sort of dropped out of/failed high school. It's a long story and I'm not proud of it. I blame it on depression. I'm going to get a GED when I turn 19, and then go on to get either my art degree or my AA degree, or both.

I have an apartment now! I'm also working about 30 hours a week, which is awesome. I live with my boyfriend, by brother, two cats, and my bird.

I WANT TO DO COMMISSIONS FOR YOU. I'm charging 5 bucks a pop, whether it's watercolor or a sketch. I really need money, and this is good practice! Come on, let me whore out my artz to yous.

I've just downloaded GIMP and also got my tablet to work. BUT, my computer freezes every 30-60 minutes, so it's a bit hard to do anything on it. (And by freeze, I mean, I have to force my computer to turn off and then turn it back on.) I need new hardware but I also get almost no hours at my job and I have a bunch of other shit to buy so it may take a while!
Yeah. Oh well. Um, in other news, I got the DS game Drawn to Life for christmas. It is fun! Really easy though. Very good for boredom. Non frustrating. Yes. I think I've almost beaten it already.

I was just going through my gallery (and adding folders, yay) when I came across my old story about a kid named Jonathan who gets trapped on a ferry boat. I read through it, and realized I used to be quite a lot better at writing than I am now. So, I think I've decided I want to finish it and/or just add more to it.

I'm going back to school on Monday! The awesome thing is that it's actually college, even though I'm not in college. Tuition is paid by my high school and I get college and high school credit. One year of college after this one, and I'll have my associates degree, then I'll move on to an art school to study design. Huzzah.
Most deviants say "I'm going back to school so the art flow is going to slow down" but I'm pretty much the opposite. I draw when I am bored and when there is paper available, therefore I'll be drawing in class all the time, meaning my gallery will probably get a lot fuller a lot quicker. I've always drawn a lot in school. Hopefully I will improve some more, too.

My journal will get a makeover soon enough, promise.

I tried for a while to fix it...but after a few times of turning it off and on, the monitor stopped showing anything completely. I asked a few nerd friends of mine and realized it was a hardware problem. So I replaced the video card, but nothing happened. Frustrated, I called a geek to come help me. He came over, took out the fan, blew all the dust off of the chip behind it and replaced it. It started working again and I was thrilled. He left after my many thanks and I sat at my computer, finally sane again. But then.... 'click', I hear the subtle sound of my monitor screen going black. I'm thinking 'oh, this is no big deal.' I turn off my computer and turn it back on again. But, of course, I'm back to the same old fucking problem.

So, I haven't written a journal entry in way too long, so I decided to post one!

Some things that are going on in my life at the moment:

I've been going to my boyfriend's house a lot on the weekdays lately, going to school in the mornings and everything. I want to move in and I think my mom might let me fairly soon. Woot.
I was suspended from school for twenty days a while ago, and I am now failing pretty much all of my classes. I think I'm going to go to the alternative school next year. Much easier to make up my credits that way.
I don't think I'm going to continue drawing/writing Thieves anymore; too many people are saying that the characters look familiar. They aren't supposed to. So I'm going to start over, eventually.
My drunken oldest brother just attacked my brother (and almost me) with pie. Ass hole.
I've almost beaten Pokemon Pearl already, and I've only had it for like a week now.

I spent like four days downloading Fight Club, because I've only seen it once and I need to see it again. So it's finally done downloading. I spend a few minutes getting everything ready to watch the movie. I start it, everything's going absolutely perfect, until people start talking...and the only word I can understand is "Tyler". Because it's in FRENCH. GOD DAMNIT! It didn't SAY it was in French. And all the other torrents have like three times as many leechers as seeders. Oh man, I'm so pissed. I could watch Garden State again, but I just watched that a few days ago...maybe I will anyways...

I start tomorrow! I'm kind of nervous though, because I didn't get any training and I've never done this before. So what I'm supposed to do is write six things weird habits/things about myself, then tag six people. So here goes.

1. When I was in elementary school, I enjoyed beating other kids up. I got several white slip things a week.
2. I've been going out with ~h-owens, for over three months!

He's also almost two years older than me. Heh heh.
3. I created my character Gilokee in fifth or sixth grade. Now I'm in tenth, almost eleventh.
4. I've been atheist for four years and nothing will ever change that, so deal with it.
5. I always bite my lips. Bottom when I'm bored or nervous or when it hurts cause I've been biting it...and top to strech it out...cause sometimes I think it's too short. xD Weird, I know...but I look like a friggin horse when I smile really big.
6. I was born on Friday the 13th, in October! So unlucky plus the scary month=scary unlucky Jenna. Also, my brother ~rockintom99 was born exactly two years and a day before me. His birthday is on October 12th.

Basically my standards will be one dollar per character. If it's something harder like a super-detailed dragon, it will be slightly more expensive, as it will be harder to draw...duh.

Eh, at least it's something. And it costs no money.

*Get recipies for stuff to bake during Christmas, because I have the feeling that my mom won't want to.

My computer had been acting very strangely, not letting me go on the internet but otherwise working fine. So I moved everything to my D drive, took out C, and reinstalled Windows on D. (I formatted C first, dun remember why...) So everything is installing and everything. About an hour later it's finally done. I'm all excited as I go to set up my modem, and I finally dial up...and it doesnt work! Wtf?! It still isn't working. Also, I realized, to my utter horror, that My Documents from C drive DIDN'T get copied!! A ton of my stuff was deleted, including EVERY SINGLE PHOTO I HAD!!! I was, and still am, furious!!
