So as you may have noticed, I've been away for a bit.
I've been snowed under with college, work, and to top it off illness. I'm now back in the game. I'm going to try to get everything up to date within the next few days.
Here's a heads up: Once I've got all the notes sorted I will be reviewing memberships. The key thing here is whether you have the icon for the club somewhere prominent, as is part of the membership rules.
There will be no warnings. Latent members will be scrubbed from the list. As simple as that.





So who wants a job?
Ok kids, things seem to be going pretty well, people are submitting, we're getting genuine members who care about Polaroids, but there's one big problem! People keep ing the gallery! "Why is that a problem?" I hear you cry, "This means people like Polaroids!" Well, yes, it does. But it also means the original artist is not getting the support they need. (Of course I'm sure once the powers that be eventually sort out the communities app they have been promising us for months this will no longer be a problem)
Thus I need some help. I do not have time to keep on top of these erroneous s, so I need somebody who can help me.
Essentially what would be needed would be somebody who can log in most days, just for 10-15 minutes, send messages to all the ers directing them to the original artist's page, and that would be it.
Interested, send a note saying "I'm interested!"

All membership application are up to date. If you have submitted an application and haven't been accepted that is probably because you wroite 'Join please'. Not going to happen, buddy.
Next step will be submissions. I know some of you have added submissions to your membership applications, for future reference, please don't do that. It messes with my OCD filing system. So hopefully within the next few hours there'll be some shots in the gallery. However, I am being tempted to go out and shoot today. So it may be delayed. Who knows.

Unfortunately I have had a lot on, and every time I log in I find more and more messages, submissions and s (even though it is made clear not to) and has become too much.


So here is my projected plan of action. ~GoPolaroid will be cleansed. All submissions will be removed from the archive. No more submissions will be taken. Then ~GoPolaroid will be officialy closed, and a new community will be set up. The membership criteria will be somewhat more stringent, as will the submission system.


I will be messaging all of you who have offered to help running ~GoPolaroid and see how you feel about helping run a new community from the ground up.



Any comments will be read, and responded to, but unless a compelling reason not to close is put across we will be beginning the closing process on Sunday.

Well, here's another of the sporadic updates you may have gotten used to.
Here's the good news; I (*Sweathog) have now gotten a more reliable, 24/7 internet connection, which means that I am able to put more time into the backlog.
That being said, people are still ing ~GoPolaroid, not the original artists. For this reason, I need all of you Polaroid lovers out there to send me the term "Do not comment on this piece, comment on the original" in as many languages as you can think of. Note them to ~GoPolaroid with the subject No Comments.
As far as submissions go, people seemed to ignore the fact that they were closed. They are still closed, do not enter submissions!
Finally, :devcrashtruwall: is no longer our membership Admin, because, well, she disappeared.

On a more positive note, we've been featured in ~afternoon-tea's article on "Film Photography and Darkroom". Go check it out!

Well, Happy New Year all of you!
As of about ten minutes ago, all new membership applications (that went through the correct channels) are up to date. So welcome to all you new guys, and hello again to the old.
I must apologise for my absence, things have been busy, but I should shortly be getting internet access in my lodgings, so I will be able to devote more time to, among other things, ~GoPolaroid.
Now, please don't forget that we do have a chatroom, GoPolaroid, so feel free to pop in there.
We are still not accepting new submissions, but that is liable to change soon, as I will, in theory, be going through all the submissions today.
So that's about it.

Right. I have just spent the past hour and a bit dealing with the (surprisingly large) backlog of membership applications and other small things that have built up. We now have roughly 240 members. Not bad considering we're only 9 and a half months old!

I still have a lot of notes and submissions to go through, so I will have to say that we are still not open for any new submissions. Any new submissions will simply be ignored and deleted. I will notify you when GP is ready to take new submissions.

Finally, I am searching for a new member of the admin team, to help me in a task I cannot manage on my own. Any questions/applications, note ~GoPolaroid please.

I'm afraid I'm going to have ask for a temporary halt in submissions. Due to various reasons I am not able to keep on top of ~GoPolaroid at the moment. Any submissions received after this date will be ignored and deleted.
This is only temporary, and you will be notified as and when we're back to normal.

So it's been a while since the last update, and I do apologise for that. I've just got the members list up to date, and I will hopefully get all submissions up to date over the next couple of days.
The competition has been killed due to fuck-all response to it, so I guess we're going to be stuck with the same old journal layout as before.
On another note, if anyone's willing to give me a hand in running the club, I would be most greatful, particularily as it's almost time to get back into my educational swing.
