My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where the hell she is.

The only reason I would take up exercising is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.

I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there.

I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.

The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.

If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.

And last but not least...

I don't exercise because it makes the ice jump right out of my glass.

This book will be full color Photography Monograph, 11"x14" ( 27 x 36 cm) 336 pages cloth bound, landscape/panoramic orientation. Most of the photography is done by Mario Novak, text is by Damir Konestra, renowened Croatian writer. We will start shipping the book by end fo March,, so people should reserve their copy right away since first edition will be limited.

First edition of the book will be available in Croatian and English languages and Croatian preview of the book can be downloaded from our site [link]

Book will be also presented at London Book Fair, in April, New York Book Expo in June and Frankfurt Book Expo in October.

Lijecnik koji me na Rebru primio samo je zabrinuto klimao glavom, a ja sam ga, danas je to pomalo smijesno, uvjeravala da mi da lijekove, pusti me kuci i da cu doci za par dana ako mi ne bude bolje. Bezuspjesno, moja krva slika bila je gora od svih onih ocajnih na nasim novim dokumentima. Osjecala sam nemir, strah i po glavi mi se motala misao da mozda bolujem od one bolesti od koje umire glavna glumica filma uz koju su 70-godina plakale sve majke, mislim da se zvala Love story. Na moju veliku zalost, bila sam u pravu, no tu rijec nisam uspjevala izgovoriti. Suze, apaurini, a potom ravnodusnost. Podvlacila sam crtu misleci kako sam u svojih 28 godina uspjela odrasti voljena u divnoj obitelji, zasluziti ljubav, supruga i prijatelja, putovati, raditi posao koji me jos i danas veseli. Tonula sam tjeseci se logikom razvoja situacije, sve dok mi na pamet nije pala jedna prilicno glupasta misao. Obozavam sladoled, ljesnjak je m oj prvi odabir, ali tog ga ljeta nisam okusila, preduhitrio me odlazak u bolnici. Pa, zar je moguce da vise nikada necu jesti sladoled od ljesnjaka? Jesam li se spremna odreci svega i svih koje volim? Tog sam dana preplasena, ali odlucna krenula u lobiranje za vlastito ozdravljenje. Prihvatila sam izazov i bila prebolno svjesna od prvog dana, sto me snaslo. Jednu bitku protiv takvog suparnika vec sam izgubila, a poraze kad te besramno pokradu, ne podnosim. Moj tata Gordan, umro je 2003. u 54. godini zivota, karcinom pluca. To me diosta slomilo.
No, dobro, lijecila sam se 6 mjeseci, do listopada 2005., na Odjelu za transplantaciju kostane srzi na KBC Rebro, kod profesora Borisa Labara i njegovog lijecnickog tima. Moram priznati da obozavam svoje lijecnike i sestrice, i sto je jos ljepse mislim da su osjecaji uzajamni. Oni su moja velika obitelj, bez laznog uljepsavanja, i uljevaju mi sigurnost tako da mi prepustiti vlastiti sudbinu u njihove ruke ne pada ni najmanje tesko. Obavila sam kemoterapije i potom sam transplantirama. Sve je islo nekim polaganim tokom, svakim danom sam bivala bolja. Konacno, pomislila sam ljetos, lagano vracam zivot u prave tracnice i ostavljam sve ruzno iza sebe. Cvrsto sam u to vjerovala. No, onda je stigao rujan i prve glavobolje koje su ubrzo prerasle u danonocne migreme, izgubila sam vid na desno oko, trpila nesnosne bolove i otezano hodala. Usprkos tome pretrage su bilo uredu, a onda je sve krenulo ispocetka. Sredinom listopada ponovno ona ista hitna, Rebro, ovaj sam put sam barem znala proceduru. Nakon odradenih p retraga potvrdeno je da se moja stara poznanica vratila, pronasli su leukemijske stanice u likvoru. Sto da Vam kazem kako sam se osjecala, iskreno toga se i ne volim sjecati, najteze mi je zapravo bilo sve ponovo saopciti mojoj obitelji. Trazila sam ponovno neki motiv, nesto da me pokrene jer ja sam sve samo ne tuzna i depresivna osoba. Za mene predaja nikada nije bila opcija. Cesto sam u zivotu i poslu zbog toga dobila po nosu, ali sto cu kad drugacije ne znam. Beskrajno volim zivot i ljude, znam i imam za koga zivjeti. Ponekad mi se cini da mi ni 100 godina ne bi bilo dovoljno da ucinim sve sto je onaj na nebu namijenio za mene.
Ipak, dosla sam do tocke kad vise ne mogu sama i kad mi treba pomoc dobrih ljudi. U razgovoru s lijecnickim timom o daljnjem tijeku lijecenja, kemoterapijama, zracenju mozga, i na poslijetku vrlo riskantnoj transplantaciji kostane srzi od nesrodnog donora koja me ocekuje oko Nove godine, otvorena je mogucnost odlaska na lijecenje u SAD, i(li) nabavka skupih lijekova, imunosupresiva koji nisu dostupni nasem trzistu, a mogli bi pomoci da se izvucem iz ove price, da ona dobije sretan kraj.
Zapravo mi je tesko srociti sto Vas tocno zelim zamoliti, znam rekla sam na pocetku 10 minuta, ali nisam bila sasvim iskrena. Nemojte zamjeriti, nije mi lako. Sve moje zelje zapravo stanu u dvije rijeci, zelim zivot. Svjesna sam svih rizika koji me ocekuju, spremna sam i na deblji kraj, nije me strah, smo se ne zelim okrenuti i otici a da nisam sigurna da sam ucinila sve sto sam mogla da se jos neko vrijeme zadrzim tu medju vama. Apsolutno vjerujem svojim lijecnicima, ali znam gdje zivim, stoga Vas najljubaznije molim da mi pomognete. Jedino sto Vama, i sebi moram obecati jest da cu se truditi biti hrabra, vedra i kad bude tesko. A bit ce, to sigurno znam.

This is the situation: there’s a beautiful princess trapped in a castle watched by a dragon. Here’s the end of the story with different styles of metalheads as knights.

POWER METAL:
The protagonist arrives riding a white unicorn, escapes from the dragon, saves the princess and makes love to her in an enchanted forest.

THRASH METAL:
The protagonist arrives, fights the dragon, saves the princess and fucks her.

HEAVY METAL:
The protagonist arrives on a Harley, kills the dragon, drinks a few beers and fucks the princess.

FOLK METAL:
The protagonist arrives with some friends playing accordions, violins, flutes and many more weird instruments, the dragon falls sleep (because of all the dancing). Then they all leave… without the princess.

VIKING METAL:
The protagonist arrives in a ship, kills the dragon with his mighty axe, skins the dragon and eats it, rapes the princess to death, steals her belongings and burns the castle before leaving.

DEATH METAL:
The protagonist arrives, kills the dragon, fucks the princess and kills her, then leaves.

BLACK METAL:
The protagonist arrives at midnight, kills the dragon and impales it in front of the castle. Then he sodomises the princess, and drinks her blood in a ritual before killing her. Then he impales the princess next to the dragon.

GORE METAL:
The protagonist arrives, kills the dragon and spreads its guts in front of the castle, fucks the princess and kills her. Then he fucks the dead body again, slashes her belly and eats her guts. Then he fucks the carcass for the third time, burns the corpse and fucks it for the last time.

DOOM METAL:
The protagonist arrives, sees the size of the dragon and thinks he could never beat him, then he gets depressed and commits suicide. The dragon eats his body and the princess as dessert. That’s the end of the sad story.

PROGRESSIVE METAL:
The protagonist arrives with a guitar and plays a solo of 26 minutes. The dragon kills himself out of boredom. The protagonist arrives at the princess’ bedroom, plays another solo with all the techniques and tunes he learned in the last year at the conservatory. The princess escapes looking for the “HEAVY METAL” protagonist.

GLAM METAL:
The protagonist arrives, the dragon laughs at the guy’s appearance and lets him enter. He steals the princess’ make-up and tries to paint the castle in a beautiful pink color.

NU METAL:
The protagonist arrives in a run-down Honda Civic and attempts to fight the dragon but he burns to death when his moronic baggy clothes catch fire.

GRINDCORE:
The protagonist arrives, screams something completely undecipherable for about 2 minutes and then leaves.

INDUSTRIAL METAL:
The protagonist arrives wearing a greasy overcoat, makes obscene gestures towards the dragon and gets escorted out of fairy tale land by security guards.

EMOCORE:
The protagonists’ mother drives the protagonist and his friends to the castle. He kills the dragon with some awesome armspinning and spinkicking while his friends observing the scene with their arms crossed; then the princess laughes at the protagonists ridiculous hairstyle and the boys leave weeping.

PUNK:
The protagonist hitchhikes to the castle, asks the dragon for some bucks, buys some cans of beer, gets pissed, insults the princess as “monarchist cunt” and “commerce bitch” and leaves the castle in a black maria.

PORNO GRIND:
The Protagonist arrives at the castle without any clothes on and grunts loudly for a few minutes. Then he fucks the dragon in every body cavity it has, kills the dragon, fucks the carcass the same way again, grunts loudly again for a few minutes, grabs the princess and fucks her in every body cavity she has, kills her and fucks her in the same way again. Then he piles up the dragon’s and princess’s remains, fucks them in every body cavity they have, grunts loudly and screams senselessly for a few minutes. Then he leaves.

POP ROCK:
The protagonist arrives in a limo. The dragon lets them in as long as they sign an autograph for its mum who is a big fan. The protagonist leaves with the princess and they get married.

GOTHIC METAL:
The protagonist arrives along with a cold wind of winter in the middle of the night, frustrates the heck out of the dragon untill it dies of fear and desolation, comes to the princess and discusses how to clean make- ups without inflicting skin irritation.

George thought that sounded pretty good so he agreed.

The devil opened the first room. In it was Richard Nixon and a large pool of water. He kept diving in and surfacing empty handed over and over and over, such was his fate in Hell.

“No!” George said. “I don’t think so. I’m not a good swimmer and I don’t think I could do that all day long.”

The Devil led him to the next room. In it was Tony Blair with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time.

“No! I’ve got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day!” commented George.

And the fact that so many artists have found a platform to dicuss and present their work to others?


Without a doubt it's a big, interesting and versatile community.
But isn't it amazing to always see the same artists on the frontpage every single day concerning the fact that so many new deviations have been submitted?

We're all aware of that and believe that this has to change. It is already quite difficult for the "unknown" artists to promote their work and gain more attention.

Clearly, we do not intend to deny the skills of those great artists who enrich the community by sharing their magnificent work. But we do intend to enhance the platform in such a way that "unknown" artists might get a real chance to draw the public attention to their own pieces of work by promoting it on the front page of the community.

In our opinion we think it unjust to only have the chance to be represented on the front page if one has the luck of having many watchers.

We would like a better system which allows a deviation to be seen on the front page if, for example, it has 'only' reached about 40 favourites and about 200 views.

Take a look at the actual situation: You have uploaded an impressive piece or art that gets faved according to the number of your total views/watchers. Then, however, a more popular deviant uploads a more or less 'average' deviation and automatically reaches more than the double of your favourites/views in a mere moment.

A new structure of the frontpage could enhance the actual competition on dA, i.e. popular deviants wouldn't be able to best the "unknown" artists by posting a rather average deviation.

A reasonable alternative to present the "daily top favourites" on the front page would be a bigger amount of thumbs which would show the 40 best deviations of the day in a random order.

We think it's in everyone's interest to change the current situation and make dA a place where creating and sharing unique art plays a far bigger role than scrambling for new watchers.

No, ono što je najzanimljivije, želim s Vama podijeliti komentare koje sam dobio pod tom fotkom:

1.) lijep motiv, obrada jako loša

2.) jel ovo montaza ili se ja varam

3.) Šta je ovo na nebu i zemlji? Najezda skakavaca?!

4.) Slikano iz lokve? Ozbiljno, kako je efekt postignut - PS ili nekakva krpa il papir il nešto slično na objektivu? Ili slikano kroz prozor jako prljavog autobusa? Sve u svemu... pohvala za domišljatost, ali motiv i nije baš nešto naročito...

5.) I sad vidim - refleksija u lokvi... hm... a Omišalj je nagnut 90 stupnjeva nad zemljom? Linije bi bile izdužene i ne bi bilo ovako oštro da je refleksija u vodi... na žalost... što se mene tiče, ostaje neocjenjeno...
