Dear journal
Today, I've arrived in the town called Torchlight with the company of my loyal and only companion.
Torchlight is known for being an important mining town, built over a large underground source of Ember.
I've met a sorcerer who was fishing next to a large disturbance in the water.
I couldn't believe my eyes as I watched him pull out fish after fish. Eventually, he got up and started to sell them to a nearby witch in exchange for some small gems of Ember.
I walked up to him and asked him how he did it.
When he told me his secret, I understood he was completely mad.
"Just wait till the two rings become one and you'll hear the fish splashing. Then you just have to click on the button." he said
Tomorrow, I'll see if I can get access to the dungeons.

Dear Journal,
I awoke this morning to the sound of war. I looked outside to see the miners fighting against goblins, mountain trolls and other hideous beings.
I ran outside to see a mage run into the mines.
I stared at the entrance for a breaf moment when a young woman came up to me and ordered me to go down and help him. I wasn't the kind to be ordered about but as soon as I looked at the expresion on her face, I remembered my mother beating me with a rolling pin.
I am now in the dungeon. I've been fighting for hours, going deeper and deeper into the mine. How many floors are there? There seems to be no end of them.

I must be going mad. I came across a small pool of water filled with the same kind of disturbance the mage was fishing in.
I tried fishing and suddenly, two ring appeared before me.
Must be going delirious from lack of food.

Apparently we were going to be given a tour where two IT technicians would tell us about how they installed the servers and did all the cabling so that we could have Internet access in all the rooms. Boring…..
In other words, a whole morning wasted. I think I would have been much more productive if I had stayed at home, either sleeping until 10am or working on some of my art projects.
We walked around the school as we listened to the droning of the technicians. I could tell that they were extremely proud of themselves with all the work involved…The only problem was that I couldn’t tell what they were saying.
I was constantly stuck at the back of the group, trying to see around the ocean of heads that swayed back and forth in front of me. I could easily imagine what the technicians would see from their side: a small crop of orange hair moving from side to side in the back….
I quickly complained to one of my classmates who suggested that I tried to go to the front.
I stared at the crowd and took a deep breath.
Trying to forget for one moment my mild agoraphobia, I finally managed to get to the front, only to find that we had started to head in the opposite direction.
Aaaagh!!....
...
So, back to square one.
After some time, we ended up in a room full of cables. I had managed to get close enough to hear what the men were saying but I still couldn’t see what everyone was looking at.
"And the red cables go into this machine that stores everybody’s files..."
"Whilst the brown cables are linked to these computers over here."
At last, there was something that I found mildly interesting! I forced my way a bit and caught a quick glimpse of these "cables" only to be disappointed by my colour-blindness.
Brown and red? Which one was which? Heck, I could hardly see the difference between the purple and blue ones...
My deception didn’t last long because my attention was then quickly drawn to my foot as a girl trod on it with a stiletto shoe who then ordered me to look where I was walking.
Look where I was going? I wasn’t even walking.
Because of that incident, I was walking with a slight distance between me and my colleagues.
After a while, I was able to walk normally and decided to catch up with the others by running, only to receive an opening door in the face.
One of my friends simply stared at me and remarked that I was the only one to get caught by such incidents as he handed me a tissue to mop up my bleeding nose.
Anther said that ever so famous phrase “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”.
I simply stared at him and replied that I felt like the whole world had recently decided to ty to kill me (and it was doing a rather good job of it too)...
I then spent the afternoon English lesson sleeping, claiming that I was "recovering".
Sometimes, I wonder why I get up these days...

Do not, I repeat, do not use Avast with Vista, especially in DOS mode.
I asked it to repair all corrupted files and to delete all those that it couldn't repair.
Vista, however, acts differently from all the other windows and apparently, it "protects" files in the event that a hacker got hold of it.
And so, Avast couldn't modify any of the files.
So what did it do? it deleted them.
I'm currently recuperating all the files on my PC thanks to a boot CD and a rather (thankfully) large HardDrive.
I was intending of erasing the PC and starting from scratch but I'm still pissed off that it happened like this...
Anyway, appart from all that, things could be better and could be worse too.
I'm still in Toulouse learning to be a web designer and just about managing to keep track of all the lessons.
I'm having some difficulties with one of the other students though...
He and I were in the same class since 2007 and he's got this slight hearing problem.
The problem is that he uses this as an excuse to not take notes in class, claiming that he's utterly incapable of writing AND listening at the same time.
I however, because I've known him for to years now, think that it all boils down to LAZYNESS.
And the teachers want me to give him my notes because of his "deficiency".
Despite all this, I'm still working hard on my drawings and I'll try to post them ASAP.

Anyway, a lot of things have been happening lately,

I've passed this years exams with a total of 55%!
I would have had a better result if it wasn't for french sociology/phylosophy and law/economy, I mean, I'll never do that sort of stuff ever again! So why on earth did we have it as part of our curiculum for &@#=+ sake?
But at least it means that i'll be stufying next year at the n°1 university of social science of Toulouse!

Frezak, our mother and I are going out on monday to see the film Coraline. Suposedly, we've got the book somewhere but it seems to have disapeared....
I guess it's for the best because I've learnt that if there's a film about a book, it's always best to see the film first THEN read the book. (for more detailed information, see "Lord of the Rings", "Harry Potter" and especially "Hitch Hyker's Guide to the Galaxy")

Anyway, these last few weeks have been most tiring, especially last Friday when my computer got a virus. Poor thing had to have it’s memory wiped clean.

Now that my head is emptied by this vigorous usage of lead pencils, I feel somewhat better…

Okay, so it's just computers jamming, software that hasn't been configured propaly, but I sometimes get a couple of things that could make anybody pull their hair out.
Just the other day, a guy toldus that he lost his password for his company e-mail adress. So I said OK... I'll see what I can do.
So I look through all the paperwork the last programmer left behind him and it seems that there was an account that had access to most "vital information"...
I smiled happpily and started to access it, only to find that he didn't write down the password. So in the end, we've got an admin account with no password, a guy who needs a password and me with rapidly disapearing hair.
Have you tried to contact this guy? I asked my superior.
Errr, yes.
And?
He won't reply to our e-mails or our phone calls...

More and more users are perverting the way things work.
Some steal the art of others and pass it off as their own and others draw just one picture of a well known theme just to get views.
I know many of you have helped me these few years and I can say that I know a lot more about art then I did before.
But alas, Deviantart is not what it used to be.
When I first logged in, I had dreams of becoming well known, dreams of becoming a greater artist.
Now, I'm not sure if I could call my better creations as art.
In the end, I think I signed up for the wrong reasons. I now realise that being an artist isn't fame, it's about knowing that what you've made is yours, that part of your soul is reflected in your creations.
And then, there's something else.
Deviantart isn't for the search of fame, it's the search of friendship. As some of you have noticed, the word most often used in the search tool is "Love".
A lot of us are either teenagers or young adults, trapped in a stressful and difficult world where consumerism and productivity have tacken over our daily lives.
This is why DeviantArt has been so helpful to us, because many of those whom we can count on, are right here with us.
But alas, I can't keep up.
My work and my studies have taken a large part of my time and I don't have the time needed to continue drawing.
I have bearly enough time to write this down.
I'm sorry for those who counted on me, I'm sorry for leaving.
This is not a good bye. I might come back, one day.
But, for the time being, I'm closing my acount in a couple of weeks.
So thank you, all of you. You've been a great help and I was glad to help those who needed me.

GARRY LARSON : THE FAR SIDE

Garry Larson, now there’s a strange character, the brilliant cartoonist who created the well known comic strip “The Far Side”.

Talking animals, teenage aliens, murderous chickens, large ugly people who nearly all wear glasses, intelligent dogs, manipulative cats and vegetarian polar bears anonymous.

These are but drops of the ocean of madness of this strange yet attractive world, where Larson points at the disfigurements of today’s society and pokes it with a stick to see if it moves.

By giving animals an almost human behaviour, he also gave man a more brutish manor than what we’re used to seeing. A version that is closer to our world except that in our world, you rarely see a frog play jazz or meet a cow who takes ballet lessons.

In his work, nothing is taboo, Death takes a holiday, people are eaten whole (with a dab of ketchup) and birds feed worms to babies whilst their mother’s backs are turned.

For those who want to discover something new, I suggest searching the internet for some of his work or buying his books
.
But for many of us, I think the first step is to look up from our screens and discover the world around us.

You never know, you might catch your cat playing a game of solitaire…

And lo’, behold a new journal entry after how many months? Personally, I’d rather not find out…
And what was the cause of this long absence?
Mostly school work and the fact that I spent most of my summer holidays at my parent’s home, with an Internet connection speed of 5K a second (If I was lucky -__- ) and then the second half was spent with my girlfriend who forced me to talk rreeaallllyy long walks (long walks? I’m an apprentice computer programmer!)

When I was 14 years old (ish) I used to think that being a grownup would sort out all my problems, that it would conjure away all my tedious complications like placing a rabbit in a magician’s hat.
Instead, it spat them out and my problems seem to be breeding behind my back, coming forth each day as a strange, bizarre obstacle that I must climb over….

Narrowly avoiding falling plant pots, getting chased by a poodle, walking to school early in the morning to see a large white balloon float through the empty street O.o , etc

These things may seem ludicrous but I can assure you, you can get used to just about anything.

Anyhow, if you’re interested, I’m open to new concepts and ideas, so if you want me to draw something specific, leave me a comment and I’ll get straight to it!

the febuary holydays have been rather abismal, especialy the second week where I was at home -__-'
I'll spare the details, let's just say I didn't spend a lot of time sat down...
Anyway, the first week was great! my girlfriend came over to spend some time with me (she lives near Marseille and for those who still don't know, I'm in Toulouse)
I also managed to finish a load of work and better still, deviations!
I've upload them and I'm hoping to manage to get some spare time to finish the rest. (when hell freezes over)

When I first signed up 2 years ago, I thought that I would receive the critique I needed (and maybe a good reputation) to increase my drawing skills and even make new friends within the community.

I've only managed the second, meating some really amazing people.


I feel that DA is loosing it's initial ambiance.
It's annoying that people spend 15 minutes on a drawing they don't give a shit about and receive 3000 pageviews and comments just because it's got something to do with what's in fashion.

I mean, comments like "omg ur naruto fan", "roxor!!" or even "OMG WTF **enter fashion of choice** FAV"

and let's not talk about the art thieves or this journal will go on for ever!

990 pageviews, that's all I've received in 2 years, that's all.
And what did they say to me as they visited my page? nothing!
I think that people should show some respect and say what they think instead of just gazing quickly.
When I look at someone's art, I compliment, I give my opinion, I even try to give a few tips here and there.

For all of you how have read this up to here, it's almost certainly because you feel the same way (or you just have some time to kill, if that's the case, please stick the first book you get your hands on and thrust it up your rectoid mucosa and you'll understand why they call it "the sharper image" )

And work at Gabriel Fauré has been rather testing too. The computers here seem to have a mind of their own, switching off suddenly as you start to move your mouse towards the "save" button.
The drink machines seem to be conspiring against me as they eat up my change or giving me the wrong drink.
The school toilets also appear to have become toxic waste dumps as the summer heat aproaches and I will not talk about the school food. do not mention the school food. please.
Let's just say that if they served custard, it wouldn't come out of the jug...

Worst of all, it seems that my creative juices have dried up with the heat... I can't think of anything!!!

Apart from all that, everything s going along quite nicely, as if!

most of you must have noticed my slight absence, that is because the connection speed at home is as slow as snailmail and i didn't have much time on my hands.... but now I have access to the school computers! Aaaannd another

shihanmistwalker, lover of animals and writer of the ocult, great writing too, especially "the book of despair" which was rather intersting...

nijarlathotep, god some of his pictures are weird! have a look

super-sheep, don't let names fool you, this deviant ain't soft and cudly, he's leathery and covered with needles! "despair"

zephyr-love, interesting deviant, draws people most of the time but works in different domains... "integra"


And now some news straight from the horse's mouth, head and neck but sadly we haven't found a body yet (still missing)

allready one week has passed and I've started my second week at highschool and trouble has started to brew in the school dorms.
Some kids decided to cause trouble and drenched somebody's room. All wet, from top to bottom...
The worst is that they won't show themselves up so the administration have decided to reinforce the dorm rules making it more like a prison than anything else...

1: I'm capable of eating as if I've got a bottomless pit in my stomach and I do it much too often...
2: I listen quite often to classical music but I dislike rap and R'N'B'
3: I dislike insects and I become paralysed when I see things like wasps and hornets
4: I can't stand alcohol but the rest of the family drink it like it was water... I guess I'm the white sheep of the family
5: I enjoy math but I absolutly HATE sport and I speak french and english perfectly and I can speak spanish pretty well too. Oh and I've been learning german for 3 years...
6: i don't judge people by their appearance, I try to know them first unless they pick on me, etc

Because of the "CPE", employers are now allowed to fire anyone they like and don't need to give an explanation why, as long as the employe is under a "no fixed duration" contract. The french students went crazy and started causing trouble, demanding the "cpe"'s abolishment.
Buuuut the french government decided yesterday to keep it and big things are coming. Mainly big explosions because at this moment, I'm sure that Paris is in deep sh*t.
The students at highschool are causing a lot of trouble where I am anyway, especially in my class :/ , leaving me alone with the teachers who let me go after the first ten minutes...

I guess that means that I don't really remember much of my home town. In fact, I don't remeber a thing! Doesn't mean I'm a "Jon Doe" or anything..
I'm studying economy and new comunication technologies. When I'm bored, I usually do doodles or start planning a new deviation.
My work is mostly classed in "macabre and horror" but I also do "fiction" and "fantasy".
During my free time, I work on a program that's called "Hammer", also known as "worldcraft" and make new inviroments for a game called "Half-Life"
