Hey peeps!

I want to go to Uni in 2011 to study architecture and theres a few things that I'd like to get to help me!

Such as, A car, a tablet laptop (to do sketches and stuff in class) and a few other little things.

So buying prints would really help me out!

So buy a little something for your office, room etc and help me out? Mugs and such available for some things.

Hello peeps!

Was playing around with the idea of doing some panoramas and tested out AutoStitch. Edit: Here's a link! [link]

I confused auto stitch by not having the photos the right way round (I was shooting in portrait) so it decided to stitch together a side on pano for me. I fixed it by changing the settings in Autostitch to auto rotate the pics clockwise. Though the other way you could do it is by putting all the pics the right way round by hand.

My back yard hehehe. Not bad stitching indeed. Im probably heading to the Ulm MÃ¼nster tomorrow so I'll def be whacking together some panoramas!

First off I'd like to say that im LOVING Windows 7.

I am currently beta testing Windows 7 (64 bit version) and I've had virtually NO problems (Considerably less problems than when vista was actually released).

What im using:
Asus P5E-VM HDMI Motherboard
Intel Core2duo Q6600
4GB GEIL High Speed Ram
WD160GB HDD
BFG nVidia 8800 OC 512MB
WD MyBook 1TB USB Storage

Things I like:

Out of the box DVD support
Dragable windows on the taskbar (If we can have dragable tabs in FF why not dragable windows? Thanks M$)
New taskbar

Things to note:

The menu bar system is a little different to what we're all used to so it can take a little getting used to but I happen to like it.

Startup time is a lot shorter than vista and seems faster than XP too.

File operations seem a lot speedier than in vista(Copying to and from other drives etc)

The fancy window flicky thing is a LOT quicker , not a big issue I know but im picky...

I haven't verified this at all but anything graphics intensive seems to be running noticeably smoother (gaming etc)

I'll add more here later...

Things I DONT like:

There's no apparent way to change the background image for the login screen. That just plain annoys me...

I cant think of anything else right now...

Tested programs/drivers:

Motherboard drivers: No problems

Blender 2.49 (64bit) and 2.50 SVN BUILD 22439 (32bit) : No problems

Python 2.6 (64bit) : No problems

GIMP 2.6 : No problems

BFG nVidia 8800 OC Driver : No problems (I was really happy about that XD)

Unreal Tournament 3 : No problems

Call of Duty World at War : No problems (I havent tested COD4 yet but its on my list)

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance : No problems (Though I noticed it seems to only use one core, not sure if thats a 7 thing or it always does that O_O )

Sins of a Solar Empire : No problems

Daemon Tools Lite : NOT COMPATIBLE apparently... Havent found any way to get it to work yet, unless someone knows of anything?

Winamp 5.55 : No problems (yes I know there's a slightly newer version but I just havent bothered to upgrade yet)

Well, I've just moved onto the TAFE campus.

I get my own room with bed, desk, fridge, cupboard, power points and window. Showers, toilets and kitchen are shared but I don't mind. They recently renovated the kitchen here so it looks great.

I'm feeling a little sick probably from being nervous about the whole thing. And the fact that I haven't eaten much today probably isn't helping.

I am definitely looking forward to Tuesday though, thats when my first class will be.

Im doing a Diploma in Networking.

Cant wait to sink my teeth into it all.

This is an issue where its extremely hard to impose rules that only have a positive effect.

An artist that I love had a few of his pieces deleted... When you see the pieces in question i think you'll agree that they ARE art (Having said this, thats my perspective).

I think that there are restrictions on mature content on this website for a reason and if people dont like the pieces then MOVE ON. The pieces that are good will gain in popularity and get the credit that they deserve.

As soon as one of us starts reporting an image for removal, everyone will start reporting what THEY think is inappropriate or not art! And lets face it. We dont all have the same views on what art is and isnt. So I think its best that we just LEAVE those pieces we dont agree with and MOVE ON.

I agree with you that there are some pieces that are a little over the top or just plain silly (for me).

However, i DO NOT agree with some of you who have said there need to be more restrictions.

The more restrictions we put in place on our art the less real art we are going to see.

Placing any kind of restrictions on art is just plain BAD as far as the art scene goes.

Im trying to find a decent design for my tattoo.

I want to get the (a) german coat of arms tatto on my arm.

But there arent really any decent designs out there..

The only one's that i've found that I like are outdated.

I'm seriously thinking about doing a few courses and getting into the security industry.

I've had a look and I can do a few short courses to get me started.

Its just something I like the idea of at this stage.

I've always felt the need to protect for some reason and I think this would help with that.

Maybe its just my need to be ready for volatile situations *shrugs*

But its something im seriously considering.

Anyone know any security guards or officers?

"Georgia's president, Mikheil Saakashvili, has vowed not to surrender as Russian troops press deeper into his country.

He says the capital Tbilisi is being threatened, and the majority of Georgia's territory is occupied.

President Saakashvili, accuses Russia of premeditating the attack, which began several days ago in South Ossetia...."

Epic: UPDATE

This has got to be one of the most amazing structures in the world... The amount of detail....

I am ofcourse talking about the Ulm 'MÃ¼nster'.

I've only ever seen this building once... And I only caught a glimpse.

But its burnt into my memory...

And I thought i'd share some pictures I found of it here on deviantart.

* The church has a length of 123.56m and a width of 48.8m.
* The building area is c. 8,260 m2.
* The height of the central nave is 41.6m, whilst the lateral naves are 20.55m high.
* The volume of the edifice is some 190,000m3.
* The weight of the main steeple is estimated at 51,500 metric tons.
* The church seats a congregation of 2,000.
* In the Middle Ages, before pews were introduced, it could accommodate 20,000 people.
* The Ulm MÃ¼nster is the largest Lutheran church and the second largest church in Germany (after Cologne Cathedral).

I found some more amazing architecture...

I've been looking around lately at phones...

And I find a few interesting, but none satisfying.... (Not even the iPhone 3G... No MMS? Talk about suicide... That and the keyboard is too squishy... )

The only one I found that looks like it could be perfect is the Sony Ericcson Xperia X1 ([link] or [link]) But it hasnt been released just yet... (No official release DATE yet, Q4 apparently... Cant wait...)

I do a lot of messaging so the physical QWERTY keyboard is nice. I also like the touch screen and 3.2 Mega pixels for the camera isnt too shabby... (Mind You im used to the 5MP from my N82 and N95 but I dont use the camera all that much...Mainly for MMS and that shrinks the photos anyway...)

And the video looks smexy. XD

(Random Fact: That thing can record Video at 30FPS!!)

iPod touch... Knows where I live???

My iPod touch did something weird....

I noticed the "location" button in google maps...

So I pressed it...

And then it showed me where I was?!?!

I was under the impression that the iPod touch DOES NOT have GPS....

Im aware that the iPhone has GPS... But the iPod Touch??

I'll have to test it when i go to work to see if it will show me where I am this time...

...Has anyone actually taken appart an iPod touch to see if it has a GPS chip in it??
