THEME
The theme is simple. All you have to do is make one of your characters interacting with one of the Devil's Ballad characters in a way the celebrates the holiday spirit. They can be exchanging gifts, kissing under the mistletoe, etc. Whatever your super-creative minds can imagine. The images can be however hot or cold you want them to be be remember to keep it within the rules of DA. Prizes don't necessarily have to be so mild when the contest is over.

As always, feel free to do as you please with the outfits or hairstyles as long as I can tell who is who. Originality is a big plus with me. Though it is set in Japan, Devil's Ballad happens to be the most urban story in the KPRS universe so that might be something worth keeping under your hat when designing but do as you please.

Deviants are limited to three submissions but are not limited to two characters per pic or story. You can use as many of your OCs as you like as long as there is atleast one Devil's Ballad character or visa versa with DB characters. Written entries will be accepted but judged in a different category.

Its hijacked my browser, wiped out my desktop, prevents me from opening any folders, and has just been a pain in my ass.

The worst thing about the little bug is the fact that it was invited in by a sneaky little downloader trojan. I had no say in it entering my system. That and the damn thing disables almost every Antivirus program I throw at it. (sigh) so until I figure something out, I cant really deliver a higher quality of art. I havnt been able to work on any of my projects this whole time and its killing me!

RUGGUGATTA GAKUEN CONTEST

In the meantime, I was kicking around some ideas for a new contest. Something based on one of the high schools of Okayama, Okayama Japan (a small town in Okayama Prefecture) "Ruggugatta High"

The main focus on this is gonna be uniform based. At work I managed to find enough free time to design uniforms for all three types of weather for Ruggugatta students. I've got designs for breathable summer uniforms, padded winter and fall uniforms with heavier gakuran for the guys and leg warmers for the girls, and standard fair weather uniforms.

CONTEST INFO
The point of the contest is to express 2 OCs (male and female) wearing their Ruggugatta High uniforms in a way that reflects their unique personality. Some of the students may wear T-shirts under their gakuran, some of them may wear gauntlets with their uniforms, some may have personal designs on their gakuran, the girls are free to choose any blouse they wish to wear with their plaid skirt and vests, shoes, ties, you name it and it can reflect the personality of the wearer. A girl might even wear gakuran and slacks or just the gakuran. Its up to you. Customization is heavily encouraged.

RULES
You can enter up to three entries and entries must include atleast one male and one female character. There is no limit to how many characters you can put into one entry. As always with my contests, its OC (original character) based. I ask for atleast one of your OCs in Ruggugatta uniform and atleast one of mine in Ruggugatta uniform. Entries can be funny, tell a story, be sexy. Anything you like. Just be sure to check the design sheet and its' info carefully and ask me if there are any questions.

THE SKINNY

Alright Kiddies, its time for another competition and I'm gonna make this one even simpler than the last two. This time it only asks for two characters and is a little more open ended.

THE CRITERIA
This contest will be focused on two of my oldest OCs. Ada Sinchi (sugar) and Chin-Mao Tempest (Spice)

The object of an entry is to depict them being themselves in a sexy way...Thats it. You can draw them together or individually but remember those who put them in the same entry or two entries with both in at least one will score more points than just a single one.

CHARACTER INFO

Note: Both girls were both born in a small town in Japan and are very good friends. Opposites attract I guess. Both girls dress mainly in western style clothing when not in school uniform.


Sinchi is very playful and innocent. She would much rather hang out and eat junk food than worry about responsibilities. One of the sweetest human beings you could ever meet, she can be a little ditzy and naive but brings a smile to everyone around her. She grew up as a martial arts prodigy and at some point becomes the strongest being in the KPRS universe. She is more likely to be found on a DDR machine or an Excite QTE machine than buried in a book. Always up for trying new things. She almost always has a big genuine smile on her face with big bright eyes taking in the wonder of the world around her. Sinchi's talents are more physical than mental.

Tempest is refined, calm, and collected. She is very intelligent and quick on her feet. It is not easy to deceive her and she is often the voice of reason in a crisis. Tempest is classically trained in the arts and is a very good dancer, singer, cellist, violinist, etc. Tempest is the type of person who uses her time wisely and will always be training her body or mind. She excelled at every subject in school and was only second on the track and swim teams to Sinchi. Her thorough training is due impart to her being next high priestess in line for the Zhou temple. She is a skillful practitioner of Zhou Kung Fu and Zhou Tao magic. It is rare to see her without a casual smile on her pretty face. (Tempest's father is chinese)

and I were having one of our world famous bull sessions about DA. You know, what artists are fantastic at what they do, what we like about their styles, whoes improving, who actually appreciates the comments you give them and whoe's just all around awesome. Somehow it got into how great it is when an artist takes a completely cartoony character design like, XJ9, Kim Possible, or any disney or nickelodeon characters and redesigns them into something thats sexy, and bright, and feels more human. Alot of these little toons are created with alot of their human urges, sexuality, and characteristics surpressed because of avoiding adult content but the artists of DA breath new life into them with their more rounded, flesh shaped designs and sexy attitudes. They feel more realistic and instead of feeling that distence you usually get with the watered down originals, you feel a connection to them whether it be attraction or just a basic sense of humanity. Hi, my friends, its contest time again. This time around we're honoring your OCs with one of mine.

THE CONCEPT
The premise is simple. Your OC has somehow shipwrecked and has drifted onto Ecris Isle. The island paradise of the demi goddess, Ecris.

Ecris and her maids would nurse your OC back to health, play them music, feed them exotic fruits, serve them the finest honey wines, perform beautiful dances for them, bathe their bodies with the sweetest smelling perfumed bath water, and dress them in fine skillfully crafted cloth and jewelry.

So what we're looking for here is your character going native on Ecris Isle. Partying with the maids and Ecris. Dressed in tropical clothing, braided hair, shell jewelry, pearls, etc. Its really up to you. Rule #1 is that you enjoy making the entry.

If you want to add an environment, The beach is good, The common room of Ecris Manor has lots of open spaces with pillows and decor everywhere, there's the bath. Plenty of decretive marble in there. Just some sugguestions.

Oh and remember. I like to see my OCs in as many differant outfits as I or others can come up with so extra points to entries that have Ecris in a new outfit . Plus if you'd like to create your own version of Ecris's maids feel free. I've only designed two myself but there are about 15 of them so feel free to sprinkle your own designs in if you'd like. Entires must include Ecris and atleast one of her maids.

Our quest for the shitty grail is at an end, my friends. While looking at a newsletter I saw a little six letter word in the cornor of the page with its tallest letter being no more than 2 fourths of a centemeter tall. It said "policy". I clicked on it and through some investigation I stumbled upon a few FAQs that should give us all an idea of just what the fuck is going on around here lately and why we cant age characters up anymore.

He's all hopped up on drawing again and is looking for something to work on. He's open to requests, trades, fan arts, you name it.

On another topic, I'm sure you all have heard something about DA's crackdown on us. Random deletion of deviations, no warnings about them, and none of us can find any clearly printed content guidlines.

I wonder if one even exists or do the admins just get rid of what they personally find inapropriate and theres little to no collaboration. I dont know but I wish I could find those rules. I asked a person at the help desk to send me a link and I never got a response. I guess I should stop looking for one now, its been more than a month.

I'm sure we're all in agreement about loving the site but its gotten to the point where anyone can get rid of anyone's deviation as long as they say it offends them in some way and with no appeal, it can just be taken down.

This gives power to the people who have agendas. People who like to get rid of other people's art work to get a subconcious feeling of control, jealous people, people who do it just because its funny to them. Some people go into our galleries and dont blink twice at the amount of effort and time we put into a deviation but leave long detailed comments about how the children dont need to see it. I mean to make no contribution to allowing children to see adult images but if a kid really has his mind set on seeing something adult it'll pretty much happen unless they're being watched 24/7. We were all kids at one point and I'm sure we all found ways of looking at stuff our parents may not have wanted us to see. Its as simple as typing "boobs" into google.
If the deviation isnt changed to suite the person complaining, they make a simple complaint, the deviation is gone, the kid finds his boobs anyway, the complaining person has a sense of triumph or whatever, and the deviant loses.

(sighs) We gotta find those rules, people. To have something to defend ourselves with in some way.

On another topic, I'm sure you all have heard something about DA's crackdown on us. Random deletion of deviations, no warnings about them, and none of us can find any clearly printed content guidlines.

I wonder if one even exists or do the admins just get rid of what they personally find inapropriate and theres little to no collaboration. I dont know but I wish I could find those rules. I asked a person at the help desk to send me a link and I never got a response. I guess I should stop looking for one now, its been more than a month.

I'm sure we're all in agreement about loving the site but its gotten to the point where anyone can get rid of anyone's deviation as long as they say it offends them in some way and with no appeal, it can just be taken down.

This gives power to the people who have agendas. People who like to get rid of other people's art work to get a subconcious feeling of control, jealous people, people who do it just because its funny to them. Some people go into our galleries and dont blink twice at the amount of effort and time we put into a deviation but leave long detailed comments about how the children dont need to see it. I mean to make no contribution to allowing children to see adult images but if a kid really has his mind set on seeing something adult it'll pretty much happen unless they're being watched 24/7. We were all kids at one point and I'm sure we all found ways of looking at stuff our parents may not have wanted us to see. Its as simple as typing "boobs" into google.
If the deviation isnt changed to suite the person complaining, they make a simple complaint, the deviation is gone, the kid finds his boobs anyway, the complaining person has a sense of triumph or whatever, and the deviant loses.

(sighs) We gotta find those rules, people. To have something to defend ourselves with in some way.

Okay, I finally understand what some of you are talking about. DA really needs to sit down and agree on what we can and cant do and some sort of warning so we can edit deviations that they find objectionable. One of my less adult deviations [link] was pulled because according to one of the Help Desk people.

"We don't allow 'spread shots' on deviantART even if they are cartoon. I'm afraid you were a little too devious on this one "

I appreciate the courtesy but I thought we were allowed to do that unless the work displayed the genetals opened or it is something that could be considered masturbation. Could someone point me in the direction of where it says exactly what we can and cant do. I tried reading the submission policy but it seems like thats just talking about legal stuff to no end.
Its so frustrating to do a work, get feedback and comments on it, and then have it all erased without so much as a chance to edit it to keep it up.

The first couple of weeks after the ex dumped me, I questioned everything about myself. What I did wrong, why was I so easy to throw away, and how I may not be worth anything to anyone ever again. (scoffs) I realized that me and the girl werent compatable at all. I honestly think we let one lustful experience lead us to thinking that we were capable of being any more to each other than casual acquaintances. Flinging "The L word" around only added to the illusion.

We didnt even have the same things in mind. I got the feeling that she was more than ready to procreate. That would throw a serious wrench in my works since siring a child into the world would most likely lead to, me dropping out of school to seek imediate employment in a low level position, and further leading to a life of meager earnings and unavoidable poverty. Not to mention being chained to a female that refuses to communicate how she feels.

Seriously, we couldnt go a full seven days without me going to great lengths to try and fix a relationship that was doomed to failure from the begining. I told her that if anything about me or anything that I was doing, she didnt like, to just tell me so we could work on it but she would just keep it to herself until she got mad, wouldnt talk to me, and I had to launch a three day investigation through text messages and blank trips to find out what little thing I did that displeased her.

Even when she wasnt mad at me it was still a chore to try and communicate with her. We've only had three pleasant conversations that I can remember in the three or four months we were together. Other times she was either on the phone or blasting her music at an illegal decibel. Amazingly enough she can function beautifully with the walls shaking under the imense pressure of the sound vibrations. Seriously, I've sat by her phone with this going on, heard nothing but she could hear it ring from the other room. Try having a meaningful conversation over that shit.

Honestly I think she may have put up with me for as long as she did because I gave her and her friends free rides everywhere. This might not be true but I cant shake the feeling. In fact I dont think she was ever that interested in me. She ignored the hell out of me. Even snake eyed me on our last date. All I wanted from her for my birthday was to sit in and watch a movie with her. I wanted one goddamn hour and a half of her time but when I picked her up from work she was too tired, then we spent two lovely hours walking up and down the same friggen ailes at Dollar General, then when we got back to her place the music came on and she started cleaning. I wonte even say what she wanted to do after that but it didnt envolve me. Atleast I got a "Happy Birthday" from her... at one in the fucking morning. She said, "Happy Birthday, Mark. I love you so much", nothing for two days, then "We need to seperate"

She wanted me to take her to work, cause I love to get up at six in the morning and running all the way across town. Thats my pleasure. I couldnt do it that morning so she called an ex other than me. She saw that guy and then she needed time to figure out what she wanted to do. A couple of days later she was already "talking" to someone else. Needless to say, I felt betrayed, used, and unappreciated. I guess all those times she said "I love you" was just that good ol' bullshit. That or she didnt want to feel like we were physically intimate for no reason. I dont know. Emotions and Logic dont mix at all and females think more with emotion than logic so there's no telling what was going through her head.

Well I'm out a lot of money, time, and my boyhood optimism but I feel like I'm richer for the experience. The amount of hurt you feel doenst necisarilly represent how much you loved someone, alot of the pain can just be your body adjusting to a routine that doesnt involve something that was a major part of it for a while. Now that I've thought it over, I feel like I can move on but I sure as hell dont want to hear from that female ever again. She may feel justified in what she did but fuck that, I'm through being mature. Think I'll just hold a grudge for once. Oh well, I did my best but it wasnt good enough. This year was different. I gotta say that this was my breakout year, my friends. Lucky number 20. I went to my first party (and many after), finally made a ton of friends around this place, got my first kiss, my drivers license, a free Zune (these things are friggin awesome by the way), my first girlfriend (who is a little sweety), and I've gotten a bunch of watchers here on DA. I know its not a big number but I like to think quality speaks more than quantity.

MERCS CONTEST
MAY 1ST IS THE DEADLINE

I am planning a collab HENTAI manga with MERCS: QUEST FOR THE ULTIMATE BOOTY. If you win the contest we would be glad to ADD IN ONE OF YOUR ORIGINAL CHARACTERS into the manga as a prize plus I'll post up the concept sketches I'll do. Any of your OCs that you choose, male or female.

The pic should be sexy, light hearted, comical, or all mixed together. I sure you can tell that Urei Oka Oka has a bad attitude just by looking at her. Those who wish to participate should feel free to tinker with the outfits as much as they want. The only things are that Griffonral never goes without his beat up old hat (Brimnain) and Urei Oka Oka usually sticks to dominatrix styles. Other than that, just have fun with it.
