Its global communication campaign for 2008 promotes the Birima micro-credit programme in Senegal. Africa Works – the campaign slogan -developed will appear on billboards and in the press throughout the world, from February 2008. It features Senegalese workers who have used micro loans to start small, productive businesses. Photographer James Mollison portrays them with the tools of their trade against a neutral background. They include, amongst others, a fisherman, a decorator, a musician, a jewellery-maker, a farmer, a tailor, two textile sellers and a boxer. Greetings

I decided to establish a new form of featuring journal. In every entry a collection of featured deviants are assorted by relative known quotes - since I m a quoto-holic -.

THEME: SophistiCat

Cats never strike a pose that isn't photogenic.
In ancient times cats were worshipped as gods; they have not forgotten this.
[Terry Pratchett]
The ideal of calm exists in a sitting cat.
[Jules Reynard]

Dogs have owners, cats have staff.
[Author Unknown]

Most cats, when they are Out want to be In, and vice versa, and often simultaneously. [Louis J. Camuti]

Although all cat games have their rules and rituals, these vary with the individual player. The cat, of course, never breaks a rule. If it does not follow precedent, that simply means it has created a new rule and it is up to you to learn it quickly if you want the game to continue.
[Sidney Denham]

The trouble with a kitten is that
Eventually it becomes a cat.
[Ogden Nash]

I named my kitten Rose - fur soft as a petal, claws sharper than thorns.
[Astrid Alauda]

Cats are the ultimate narcissists. You can tell this because of all the time they spend on personal grooming. Dogs aren't like this. A dog's idea of personal grooming is to roll on a dead fish.
[James Gorman]

Dogs eat. Cats dine.
[Ann Taylor]

When a cat chooses to be friendly, it's a big deal, because a cat is picky.
[Mike Deupree]

If purring could be encapsulated, it'd be the most powerful anti-depressant on the pharmaceutical market.

Its always fascinating to see how art is well established in all of its forms. Every now & then I encounter people who are interested in painting my photographs and I always give them the green light. However, the outcome varies depends on the skills of the artist him/herself.

To cut it short, Kate Smith is a fine artist from New Zeland that I happen to know through flickr. She asked for my approval to paint my photograph - Adhere in here - which was posted in my flickr homepage. I gave her the full permission and just few days back the piece ran dry & ready to be displayed.

I was so pleased to see the final piece for the rich details that the artist didnt miss.

Well done Kate.
INGREDIENTS

1 bottle of self esteem (chilled)
3 cans of creativity (concentrate)
1 cup of handy skills (finely sliced)
1 basket of Nikon gears (extract)
2 dashes of catchy eyes (peeled)
2 spoons of (drained) spare time

DIRECTIONS

1. Bring a large composition into set; pour the whole bottle of self esteem in advance.
2. Add 2 spoons of the spare time into the bowl. Then drain the whole chunk to get rid of any extra wastes.

3. Open the basket of Nikon gears and spread it finely in the right places

4. Heat the catchy eyes till they become mellow.

5. Pour the cans of creativity until the last drip to ensure full concentration.

6. Take the cup of handy skills and move it along the mixture till you get the optimal results.

7. If desired, garnish the pieces with extra strokes in photoshop.

Scene: Emergency Room
Time: 5:00 pm

It was heading towards the end of my afternoon shift in the emergency room. I directed my gaze to the clock up on the wall all wondering when the doctor will show up to take over my position. I redirected my view down a bit to see an old lady on a wheelchair just came in to the room and was escorted with her daughter to the designated cubicle.

I decided to move on and have a look at the lady. She was having some difficulty in breathing and after taking a brief history I realized that she is a known asthmatic presenting with an acute exacerbation. I did the relevant examination and asked for the treatment to be established right away. I left the cubicle when the nurse told me that the 2nd cubicle is hosting the spouse of my 1st patient and apparently he is a known asthmatic too. I had a look at the emergency note and found him to be in his mid-60s. I told the other doctor that I ll take care of him as well.

Once I stepped in, the patient was in a mild discomfort from the attack and wasnt in severe distress. I asked him how did the matter started, he replied that he saw his wife having some difficulty in breathing so he felt sorry for her and as a matter of support he got this shortness of breath too. I was deeply touched as he further implied; "Don't worry about me doctor, please check on my wife, she needs more help than I do" I reassured him that I took care of her beforehand and she is receiving all the necessary treatment. I could barely notice a small smile on his face while leaving the cubicle.

My day was over but as I moved towards my car I was all wondering; how long does love last between two souls or was the wall, that seperated the two patients' cubicle, too fragile to stand against their never ending passion.
It does pass by
When you wait for a lifetime
Knowing that someone will come by
Pretty soon
Asking you to
Hold his hand
And continue through
A long journey
Between you two
No one else is aware of
But the plan falls apart
When he comes by
Telling you it’s the last time
“Don’t wait for me
I might not appear
And If I do
You will see me
Not too soon
But once every blue moon.”

Opportunities come and go, even if we were unaware of the fact that they exist.
They rather live between us, served on a plate of gold. It might be evidently in our sight but our hands are held tight to grap an easy catch.

Current status shows that humanity Indulges in daft dilemmas that await self-restoration. Each moment has a hypnotic state with all the imaginary characters that act effeciently but shortfall in souls.

Self Questionnaire;

How many times we have to run after lost chances?
Can we declare that the world is based upon undefined moments?
Are we willing to take a chance or just pass it along awaiting a better profit?

A frantic state is missing with all sorts of enjoyment and frustration.
