                <description><![CDATA[ Visit PoseManiacs.com: <a href="http://www.posemaniacs.com/blog/">[link]</a><br /><br />They have <i>nearly</i> every pose you could want for your reference pictures!  <br /><br />The models are 3D, so when looking at a certain pose you like, it's even possible to rotate the image along a 360-degree horizontal radius to view it from all angles.<br /><br />One of my favorite parts about this is that the models are skinless, so you're allowed to see the complex bone and muscular systems beneath. I think it's an important key to accuracy.<br /><br />Apart from static viewing images, it also has a feature called "30-second drawing", which switches images every 30 seconds (or whatever time interval you choose), forcing you to learn how to assess shapes and forms more quickly and render them faster. You can actually find examples of this exercise on YouTube, and it's pretty interesting to watch. Try it out.<br /><br />My only complaint is that I can't find a site with a reliable cache of quality stock photo models for me to be inspired from, especially in terms of headshots and facial-structure. But that's a totally separate problem and has nothing to do with posemaniacs.<br /><br />Even if you draw only occasionally, I think you'll find this a great help.<br /><br />Enjoy!<br /><br /> ]]></description>

                <description><![CDATA[ The school year is close to over.<br /><br />We've got two weeks more of regular work before it's finals week... Then prom, baccalaureate, and graduation and the all night grad party on the 17th. Be over like <i>that</i>.<br /><br />I've already gotten my housing plans for next year at VCU, and in spite of the fact that my roomie hasn't gotten back to me, it's made things so much more concrete. I'm going to be living and eating and working somewhere else, a significant distance away from anyone who I've ever been really close to. So strange. But I think I'm finally going to learn to fly completely without t he training wheels (for an example of what I mean, I've done all of my laundry since the 5th grade, but don't know how to iron a shirt.)<br /><br />Just so thankful. Things are ending on a good note, and I have so many things I want to do over the summer... take a daytrip to the beach, visit some themeparks, get a tattoo, make more graffiti. My friends and boyfriend are so good to me, putting up with my quirks (my winking, hugging, hair-caressing, and shouting at windows).                 <description><![CDATA[ I know I don't update often. <br /><br />That's not to say that nothing's up-- A lot of milestones have happened in my life recently. <br /><br />In a nutshell, (other than my mountain of homework) I've been completely happy. I turned 18 on St. Patrick's Day, I'm officially attending Virginia Commonwealth University's art program in the fall, I'm lucky enough to have the best group of friends, and I love my sweetass boyfriend who got everyone together for a surprise party. There's been a lot more time to work on art. It's almost 4th quarter, and the band trip to Atlanta, GA is coming up... <br /><br />I am so <b>damn</b> lucky.<br /><br /><br /><br />1. However, I tend to excel in games of accuracy, and my most pleasure comes from completing miniquests in RPGs.<br /><br />2. I've always wanted an afro-- I'd rock that up... But instead, I got hobo hair. It sits around and does nothing but be nonconformist.<br /><br />3. My concentration comes only in ultra-focused bursts. I can't help it. This is why I sometimes laugh at inappropriate times.... like during an intimate moment, or when I'm suffering intense pain. <br /><br />4. Sometimes I wish I had grown up in a place like Burke rather than a fairly ghetto neighborhood, so that my parents would have let me play outside more. The fact that I was limited because of less affluent surroundings frustrated me for a long time.<br /><br />5. I have several collections (some inadvertently started by people who kept giving me stuff): movie ticket stubs, masks, action figures, artsy books, hats, stuffed animals, and wierd statuettes, to name a few... It's a lotta crap I don't have room for.<br /><br />6. I believe that Bruce Willis is an attractive older man. He would have made a good Master Chief for the movie in his younger days.<br /><br />7. Soda was permanently given up for two reasons: I used to have an addiction, and I have a low metabolism. <br /><br />8. Over the summer, I got bored on some downtime and opened the free condoms Trojan had given away at Projekt Revolution because I was curious. Oh, COME ON... It's me. You're not surprised.<br /><br /><br />Now who the hell am I supposed to tag? Um...                 <description><![CDATA[ It's been since June since I've made any real update to the ol' journal. I suppose the reason would be because I couldn't really find a way to break the ice... That is, until I found the ol' handy dandy cut-and-paste questionnaire. Let's go! A new journal entry to commemorate almost a month of senior year already gone by.<br />

1. What color are your kitchen plates?<br />
Blue, or blue-and-white. There used to be a theme.<br />

2. What book are you reading now?<br />
"New Moon", sequel to "Twilight". Borrowed it from Kelsey.<br />

3. What is on your mouse pad?<br />
Touchpad on the laptop. It's surprisingly accurate.<br />

Cranium! Pretty crazy family times<br />

5. Favorite smells?<br />
Cooking steak, fruity perfume, the air before a thunderstorm, clean skin<br />

Yellow and Purple. Which are coincidentally my school colors (purple/gold) but it really has nothing to do with school spirit-- I used to like the yellow ranger. 8)<br />

As soon as I can get to it-- which usually means 3 to 4 in the house. I like my ringtone on my celly, so I tend to wait a little long for that one too. <br />

"July" for a girl, for sure. The others are a little tentative, but "John" after my dad and grandpa would be nice-- though I'd wanna let the father help with the boy's name since I'm indecisive. <br />

Only when the music is up-beat, loud, and the windows rolled down!<br />

They're beuatiful-- but the electricity in the air right <i>before</i> them is what really gets me enthusiastic.<br />

It's pretty much been my goal in life to not work... But I'd really love to do character concepts for video games. Or maybe conceptual costume design for movies (but not actually MAKE the costumes!)<br />

Half full. I mean, half empty just seems paradoxical. But I'm not an optimist-- Optimists like to set themselves up for disappointment! I don't. I'm just a stickler for writing style.<br />

Hmm. I love Miyazaki films, almost any one, and... Pride and Prejudice is so sappy I love it... 28 Days Later is a modern classic, no doubt... The Incredibles was amazing... <br />

22. Do you type with your fingers on the right keys?<br />
Yep. I coincidentally happened to be learning to type at the same time as learning the piano, so my fingers picked it up very quickly, and in the exact right configuration, too. The only things I never learned were numbers, so I have to look for that. <br />

Gymnastics, but only in the Olympics. I'm not much of a sports-watcher. Though professional snow-boarding is always great.<br />

Though many of my friends don't realize it, there's a lot of racism against Asians in the community. No one defends us, even though we make up an enormous part of the ethnic demographic-- white kids are afraid to make fun of everyone else is what's up, and they think I'm white enough that I don't get offended at racially charged comments.<br />

                <description><![CDATA[ Yeah, doin' the home alone thing at the moment. Chillin', thank God.<br />

Something tells me the upcoming two weeks are going to be the most strenuous of the year.<br />
<br />
What with everything going on so fast at this time of the year (AP tests, then two consecutive concerts, joining colorguard, moving a buncha stuff to florida, SOLs, upcoming finals, a load of tedious essays, looking after the house)...<br />
<br />
everything is pretty hectic right now.<br />
<br />
Plus, I'm starting an internship on the 19th-- even my summer is going to be filled up.<br />
<br />
So I'm definitely not taking a hiatus from art (how is that even POSSIBLE?!)<br />
<br />
but until I find the time to do something really nice... there's probably not going to be much posted up here until I get settled into a new routine. A more relaxing one, hopefully.<br />
<br />
I still check DeviantArt everyday and am active on the forums + comments + browsing,<br />
<br />
so this is just a heads-up to let you know I'm not dead at all.<br />

                <description><![CDATA[ I've been feeling a little lonely lately... Okay, really lonely. Not so much in the bad sense as much as in the nagging, exasperating, confused sense. For so many years, my friends and family complain about my lack of reaching out to communicate actively on my part... And now I've been making real, serious efforts, and no one reaches back. I guess I kind of deserve it... Just goes to show ya. I'm not upset about it, just a little deflated. Maybe a little discouraged. Maybe I was kinda figuring they'd still want to talk or something, y'know? What a stupid thing to think...<br />
<br />
This is art-related because I want to express my sadness that instead of fueling my creative streak, I don't want to make anything new or beautiful on my own free time. It's the 18th of December, and even if I didn't get home until 5:45, it was 70 degrees out. Beautiful days like today should be spent outside painting the lake... It would just be nicer if someone were there to have a picnic with, y'know?<br />

                <description><![CDATA[ So, I know I usually hate it when people use their journals as personal journals-- That's what Xanga, Livejournal, and Myspace are for. But I've had something on my mind that I just kind of want to talk about in the public to see if other people share my same opinion.<br />
<br />
Sisters hold an enormous sway in my life; I have three of my own, two older (half) and one younger, of which I am the shortest and smallest. We each hold our own niche within the family circle, and are rarely all in the same place together... It's a complicated relationship system, since the elders live in Illinois with their mother and my sister and I in Virginia with our mother and father... Ten years separate the eldest from the youngest. Not only are there age differences, but ethnic differences; Jennifer, the first-born, is blonde-haired and bright green-eyed, while I am the one with the darkest hair, darkest eyes, and most asian features. It makes for great family photos, considering the fact that we're all actually blood-related. <br />
<br />
Hierarchy struggles are a constant obstacle for us; Jennifer always wishes to dominate situations. Ellen, the second eldest, butts heads with her in rebellion, one to neither follow nor give orders. A passive-agressive strain exists between Jen and I, since there is some kind of residual feeling concerning my own right as the first-born child of my father's second wife. Kelly, younger than me by a year, is the tallest and most athletic, and so attempts to muscle her way into a position of respect, particularly in the case of myself (over which she has the greatest physical advantage). The ties and sub-ties between us are innumerable; It's a grudging four-way conflict that's growing further and further into stalemate as we all begin to become full adults. <br />
<br />
The sister, in my mind, has become the basic unit of companionship. Friends are at an enormously lower level in contrast; This is why in the case of my two oldest and most valued friends, I see them more as sisters. To actually consider them a 'friend' in my mind would seem something of an insult; a lowering of status. I share the same (somewhat strained) relationships with them as I do with my own blood sisters, though I couldn't name which they replace when I am with them... <br />
<br />
Even in my prose, the station and bond of sisterhood plays a huge role in character dynamics. Angel and Maria, as sisters, act not as two separate protagonists but as a single bi-bodied entity. They are one essential person, even if they aren't related biologically. This affects the story much more than any death or plot twist ever could, in a much more permanent way. <br />
<br />
But what's wrong with brothers, you ask? Why not spout the nature of brotherhood?<br />
<br />
The answer is that I have no brothers-- I have never experienced any kind of brotherhood in a sense which meant anything to me. In elementary school, all of my friends were girls; even continuing up into junior high, I'm fairly certain that all of my close companions were female. Though now I have plenty of guy-friends, my circle still is comprised of a majority of girls. Even in the nuclear family, my mother has always been both the enforcer and the giver of rewards-- My father was the provider, and had no extreme part of my disciplining as a child. Any lack of male bonding in my life is not due to any degree of feminism or sexism-- Just chance.<br />

Anyone have any comments about sisters, brothers, or your own sibling relationships? Are you an only child? Or do you just not care about them at all? ]]></description>

                <description><![CDATA[ I know, I usually don't do this wierd blog-let-everyone-know-how-my-life-is-going thing because I think it's bizarre and unnecessary, but I figure that since it's a special occasion, I wanted to spread my cheer and whatnot. So!:<br />
<br />
This past St. Patrick's Day, a lovely Friday, I officially turned sixteen years old. Of course, because Virginia has such strict driving regulations, I have to have my permit for 9 months before I can begin driving all on my own... So, of course, at the very earliest I can get my lisence in July. What a bummer, sure, but I'm over it. (I also overheard that my dad's rather well-to-do older brother is taking my grandmother's car, which was supposed to have gone to me, to give to his twenty-something-year-old daughter because all of her money is under his charge. But I'm over that, too.)<br />
<br />
Friday was a spectacular day. One of my friends baked a cake, but she's so nice that I suspect that she half did it just for the sake of St. Patrick's Day. I forced my friends to sing Happy Birthday to me, but since I'm usually the one who initiates that kind of thing and I couldn't sing during my own song, they kind of trailed off and disappointed me. Lots of people forgot, too, but that happened last year as well; In any case, I got lots of apologetic and guilty hugs, and promises for gifts which I <i>suspect</i> will never ever come, but that's alright. I do that kind of thing, too.<br />
<br />
I had an hour's worth of voice lessons at the end of the day to make up for two missed ones, and I was feeling so great that my lesson went very well and I got some supremely nice compliments from Miss Sharon.<br />
<br />
The next day was spent cleaning up the house, because I had recently found out that my wonderful childhood friend <a href="http://yomi-chan.deviantart.com/"><img class="avatar" src="http://a.deviantart.com/avatars/y/o/yomi-chan.gif" width="50" height="50" alt="" title="yomi-chan" /></a> was on spring break and coming up to VA for the weekend; I invited her and my second wonderful childhood friend <a href="http://overdramaticc.deviantart.com/"><img class="avatar" src="http://a.deviantart.com/avatars/o/v/overdramaticc.jpg" width="50" height="50" alt="" title="overdramaticc" /></a> to sleep over at my place, since we've been a killer trio since the fifth grade. In the evening, I went to see Rex Navarette, a eefin' hilarious Filipino comedian with my family, and then around ten I picked up my two buddies... It was like old times, except with a much more awkard seating arrangement of six people into a five-person car.  <br />
<br />
The traditional bonding over movies commenced, and I suppose the only thing which might have spoiled it a little bit was the constant fighting between those two, but, as always, it was alright with me. We got to exchange Christmas presents, since we haven't had a proper meeting since around November of last year... The concept is very loosely based off of <i>Alice in Wonderland</i>, though as far as I know, that's really where the similarities stop. We're not using any characters from the story, although some of the personalities in our story might turn out to be indicative of them.<br />

Harboring a gritty horror/macabre theme that most people in the group agreed on, it's going to follow a main character through a journey into a demented, altered mental, or even alternate world...<br />
<br />
That's about as far as we have it concrete-- and even that could change in the near future. The plot and characters are still being drafted out and molded from the base-up.<br />

Something most unexpected has turned up, that will quite probably affect the sporadic output of art here for a good while or so.<br />
<br />
My laptop broke. Oh, poor, poor lappy... I'll even tell you what happened to her. It was a regular day-- I'd used her the night before until three AM, and then later in the day at around ten. While in cleaning mode (for the family New Year's party was to be held at our house once more this year), I decided to check my mail...<br />
<br />
Only to have the plastic panel right above the keyboard snap right up and half of the monitor to become detached altogether.<br />
<br />
Skipping all of the rest of the details, I attempted to fix it, only to have the screen rendered completely useless but for a flicker or two. Luckily enough, the rest of the hardware worked completely fine, and my uncle (a computer guy) was nice enough to transfer all of my documents onto a zip drive after two hours of figuring out how to switch the display to another monitor.  Fixing lappy at this point would be a complete waste of time; it would probably cost just as much as getting a new computer altogether, if not more... So, needless to say, it's in queue for destruction sometime in the near future because we don't want anybody accessing our hard drive in the junkyard. (Personally, I'm going to vote for running it over a few times-- Maybe it'll count as drivig hours for my permit.)<br />
<br />
However, that isn't what troubles me. Sure, it was a traumatizing situation and I had to go for a few days without the perfect privacy of my own computer, sharing my mother's much-slower processor with the rest of the family (save my father, who has a notebook for work.)  However, I managed to get over it with some stoicism and productivity.  My family talked about getting a new laptop, but since they cost so much, I'd already emotionally steeled myself to go without my own notebook for at least six months, even a year.<br />
<br />
No. No, that's not what happened.<br />
<br />
Yesterday, getting up bright and early at noon thanks to our crazy party the night before, we set out to various stores to check out the good deals. Circuit City? Don't go there. They don't match the prices of Best Buy, and don't even have some of their computers in stock.... Not that it mattered to me, because I sincerely thought that we were there only to look at the shiny new computers that I envied so.<br />
<br />
Somehow-- by some divine grace, some <i>miracle</i>... I walked out of Best Buy later that day with a rather large box in my arms. A brand spanking new, glorious laptop, shining there in its lowly cardboard with all of the brilliance of an angel. <br />
<br />
<b>HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!</b><br />
<br />
I'm failing <i>Driver's Ed</i>, for God's sakes. Holy crap. What was my mother thinking?<br />
<br />
Sure, it wasn't on sale.... But my mom's so hardcore that she got it $200 off anyway. (I wish I had her demanding-ness... She doesn't stand for anything, least of all flaky customer service. Hell, earlier that day I think I might have let someone cheat me out of small change because I didn't stop to count it.) <br />
<br />

<i>Progress</i>: Well, I <b>did</b> have up to four pages done... But then I realized that once again, I was making up the script as I went along, not really thinking about it.  This was what happened the last time I drew the comic back in 2003, and that ended in failiure... That is why I am taking another time-off from drawing the comics to ensure the future of it by planning out a full script beforehand.  <br />

    "Ring of Keys? What is this she  spoketh of?" I'll tell you: I've  actually decided to take up the (to me)  daunting task of giving my old,  not-very-thought-through comic an  old-fashioned revamp.  <img src="http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/f/faint.gif" width="18" height="17" alt=":faint:" title="I think I've fainted." />  It's going to  involve a lot of work on my part, and  probably a lot more effort than my  attention span is capable of.                 <description><![CDATA[ If you sit still, and think about  nothing-- not concentrating on your  body, or your spirit, or even your  breathing-- one can almost feel the  omnipotence of the soul.<br />
<br />
It's extending out in all directions,  wraithlike tendrils radiating from some  unfathomable core in this body of mine.<br />
<br />
It's such a strange feeling-- Almost  the same as riding a fast elevator, or  when you run in the dark and it feels  like you're floating, the ghost of a  shadow, gossamer wings guiding your  legs with the fluid movement of a  gazelle...<br />
<br />
It is now that I can almost truly feel,  taste, hear, see the fact that my body  is nothing more than a meaty barrier; a  container; a wall.<br />
<br />
This flesh is not what I am made up of.   The still muscles, the subtle movement  of my breathing, the heart that beats  somewhere inside of me that I pay no  attention to.  <br />
<br />
This isn't me.  It's a delicate vase, a  painted-porcelain shell.<br />
<br />
Omnipotence... I feel my spirit  shifting restlessly inside of me,  tumbling over and over, wanting to wake  up from its restless, troubled sleep.   It's reaching out subconsciously,  always searching for something-- I do  not know for what-- But solid reality  lays much beyond its meager reach.<br />
<br />
And it's true-- My true spirit still  lies dormant.  It's still reaching out,  and I don't know if I'll ever find an  anchor to it-- Will I stop floating if  it finds something to catch, something  to grab, something to hold on to?<br />
<br />
I do not wish to stop floating like  this.  I am content to watch the world  from afar, a spectator observing the  participants with a mediator's  indifference.<br />
<br />
I do not wish to truly have a place (a  niche, if you will) in this world yet;  I'm not ready to stop going, stop  flying.<br />
<br />
But when I sit very still, like so, I  can still feel my soul reaching--  always reaching-- searching, looking,  and never succeeding despite its  tenacity.<br />
<br />
Yet, despite this constant adversity  towards my soul's anchor, I think that  I can still truly say that it has never  failed its search, either.<br />
<br />
My mind-- That scummy, gray piece of  mass that serves as the metaphorical  nucleus in the cell of my body-- is the  adversity.  The enemy.  Because it  belongs to the flesh, and the soul to  the spirit, and my poor forgotten heart  is torn between the two. ]]></description>

                <description><![CDATA[ Productivity.  Say the word with me.   Pronounce it.  Look it up in the  dictionary, if you don't know it.<br />

Why look it up? Because it would be a  productive thing to do! Why else,  dumbnuts?<br />
<br />
Productivity is a dying art these days.   I don't mean to be a hypocrite-- By  any and all means, I am not the epitome  of useful.  Just by writing this, I'm  proving it-- And, because you are  reading it, you too are wasting your  valuable, valuable time.  <br />
<br />
People cannot be as busy as they say  they are-- there's just no way.  (Not  you-- Oh, no, of course not. You are  worn ragged, run down, etc. etc.  because of your uberbusy life. So I  point no fingers at you, good friend.)  If we were, how else would we find the  time to check our e-mail, IM our  buddies, or read the cynical rants of a  messed-up freshman? <br />
<br />
I guess what brought this up was when,  earlier today, my mind meandered over  to the subject of video games and  television. And let me say something:<br />
<br />
This, my friends, is truly the age of  technology. Kids these days know more  about computers than a lot of their  parents do. Here is a real example of  productivity: In the summer of 2002, I  lost all interest in television and  turned my sights to the broad new  horizon of the Internet.  With that  much less time spent with my eyes glued  to the screen, I taught myself HTML,  CSS, began to write a story, and  started planning ideas for my new  webcomic.   <br />
<br />

<i>Why</i> are we?<br />
<br />
I've touched upon this subject quite a  few times already-- Take a look at  previous journal entries 'Scum' and  'Life' among others, but I don't think  I was-- Or am, for that matter-- able  to fully elaborate on my meaning. <br />
<br />
To quote myself, 'Trillions of years of  evolution have produced nothing but a  blood-lusting behemoth. I hope you're  proud of who you are.' The behemoth I  referred to is the highly abusive mass  relationship we call 'humanity.' Do any  of us know what we seek?<br />
<br />
Oh, what's that? World peace? World  domination? You want to be the  President? Do you honestly think that  you are going to leave an imprint on  the world that way?? <br />
<br />
I'm sorry. I do not mean any of this in  a taunting way-- Perhaps in the cruel,  confused way a person observes the  mentally handicapped, but not in a  taunting way. I know there are lots of  people out there with good intentions--  I even have a cousin that went to South  America to teach people in poverty how  to use greenhouses to grow more food. <br />
<br />
But I am not talking about  missionaries.  I'm talking about people  like <i>me</i>. There are three types of  people in the world:<br />
<br />
1. Plain Ol' Nice People: The  aforementioned missionaries are an  example of this group. Put plainly,  they've devoted their lives to <i>real</i>  helping causes, such as charities and  working in poverty-stricken nations.  Sadly, this is the smallest group by  far.<br />
<br />
2. Egotistical Megalomaniacs:  Politicians and (most) stars are a very  good example of this. They believe that  by becoming rich, rising to a position  of power, and being well-liked in the  public eye, their loud voices can  change peoples' opinions and, overall,  help mankind. Yeah, right. Your new  pop-music CD is going to help people.  Oh, you've made a new porn movie, and  you're donating <i>some</i> of the money to  charity? How generous. Everybody says  that they believe in equality for man,  and that their intentions are wholly  pure. Why don't they just go and  volunteer their time in third-world  countries instead of lounging around in  their custom-tailored, red-hot-fashion  skirts and suits? The most  self-rightgeous people you'll ever meet  in the world belong to this category  (People aspiring to rise to fame and  glory are usually put into this  section, as well). The good news is,  there are less people in here than in  the third category, which I shall now  describe. <br />
<br />
3. Absorbed-In-Their-Own-Life  Commoners: Most people in this group  don't justify their lives by claiming  that their actions are going to change  the world, or improve mankind. Most  prefer to make no comment-- But at  least they're not bullshitting you. We  make fun of the other two groups  openly. The reason that most of mankind  can be put into this category is that  we're lazy bastards-- Either too lazy  to become a Group 1 Plain Ol' Nice  Person, and keep putting it off 'till  later, or they're too lazy to become a  Group 2 Egotistical Megalomaniac. We're  also very caught up in our own lives--  Say, for example, I buy my own  apartment in New York so that I can  become a professional artist. But to  pay for my tiny but very expensive New  York apartment, I have to work 2  full-time jobs along with attending  college classes-- The result? I'm too  busy paying my bills to make any art,  and the moment my bills are paid, the  new ones come in, leaving barely enough  for the week's groceries. We're so busy  looking out for ourselves that we have  absolutely no time to do anything else,  and <i>that</i>, my friends, is where my  classification phrase  'Absorbed-In-Their-Own-Life Commoners'  came from.<br />

                <description><![CDATA[ I've got all these goals-- And I'm not  even talking about the kind of goals  that little kids have, like, 'When I  grow up I wanna be a fireman' or  something. I'm talking about just  regular, everyday stuff that you should  make a good habit out of to make things  easier and more hygienic.<br />
<br />
The horrible thing is, I can't complete  those fucking things. <br />
<br />
I'll be the first to admit that my  eating habits are unhealthy at best,  and at the worst, it's actually  affecting my overall health. I eat one  half of three meals a day sometimes,  and then binge on junk for awhile to  the point that I want to throw up  (sometimes I do, purposely.) <br />
<br />
Even a horridly stupid person like me  knows that it's horribly wrong. But if  I can't have the self-discipline to eat  my veggies three times a day, how the  hell am I supposed to have the mental  stamina to keep up with all my homework  shit when it's crucial to my future? <br />
<br />
Damn, these little things drive me  fucking nuts. I'm fourteen, and my life  is going down the fucking proverbial  drain. <br />
<br />
Shit, man, it's not my fault I don't  have a retentive memory. Fuck, when the  waverunner tipped over the other day  and I fell into the sound underneath  it, I didn't realize that I couldn't  see until ten minutes later, when I was  zooming around the lake again. My  goddamn glasses had fallen off, and I  do believe I'd probably stepped on them  and mistaken them for twigs. Hell.<br />

I also left a brown paper bag with over  $100 of merchandise in it at the beach  house we rented this summer. $70 bucks  of it was mine, a little stone  gargoyle. I worked fucking hard for  that money to buy it, and the maids  probably found it and kept the fucking  thing and who knows what the fuck those  hicks are doing with it--<br />

Since religion has been established and  its culture developed, people have been  persecuted for it; Whether it be  witchcraft, paganism, Judaism,  Christianity, it's happened. Doubtless,  we all would extend the knowledge and  confirmation of our faith keenly in  unhostile society...<br />
<br />
But what if you were forced to deny it?  Would you still stay rooted in your  beliefs (or, in the case of atheists,  the belief of not believing in  anything) under torture? <br />
<br />
What if you were on the rack? Stoned?  Burned with torches? The iron maiden?  Tortured with slow-drip acid? <br />
<br />
It's a question not many of us can  answer. I know that I, myself, cannot--  If I were to be thrown into a lake,  would I overcome my deepwater  hydrophobia and still say that I was  Catholic? Or would I submit to my own  sheer terror? What if I was to be  burned, something I fear almost more  than anything else?<br />
<br />
Is it true that we cannot know  until/unless it happens to us? How do  we know that our faith is not merely in  words, but deeply rooted into our soul,  our very being, that we would give our  lives up for that which we love and  believe? <br />

My friend, if there is one lesson  that you are to learn for the rest of  your life, it is that ignorance is  bliss.  I say this because of the filth  that surrounds our life, the filth of  pollution, of murder, of vile  lawlessness and sin.  <br />

I truly envy people that are  effortlessly happy... I do not with  them ill at all, but I envy them... I  know too many who suffer so greatly  that they have to laugh at the constant  regression of humanity just to keep  their sanity (or further their  despair).<br />
<br />
Where did that innocence in me go, I  wonder? At what point in my life did I  begin to prefer the night over the day,  confining myself to the recesses of my  room rather than climb a tree outside?  Was it a chemical change, or physical  and mental causes? Years of  self-mutilating mental abuse and stress  have added more weight on my shoulders  than is bearable. ]]></description>
