At this point it seems unlikely...

Since last year my plan has been to save up some loot and get my hands on the CS4 Master Collection, then not only be able to work from home but free up loads of time for personal projects as well. Now, the time leading up until then I've been without the software for my own use, which is why I never seem to upload anything here anymore. I'd really really like to, but I simply havn't had the time, opportunity or resources to make anything.

Now, my plan was to have enough saved and ready to go back at the beginning of May... It's now the end of July and I'm about a fifth of the way there...

Why were my Calculations so off? Allow me to explain,

Yes I am rubbish at Maths but that isn't the reason, since I started my job I was told that my starting pay of $200 a week (that's full time btw) would be very temporary, possibly only a few weeks. At least until business picks up a bit, then payment will go up accordingly,
'sounds fair,' I thought. Wouldn't make sense for me to be getting heaps when the business itself isn't, so I went with that thinking that pretty soon pay would go up to $400-$500, therefore having over $5000 for Adobe well in time for May...

...This was almost 8 months ago...

Here I am, at my work desk still stuck on a crummy $200 a week with no sign of it ever increasing, if anything it will soon be less. Get this:

This is officially the worst Internet Plan in the world (and we're on it for some reason):
AVOID BIGPOND
Our plan gets us 60gb a month, and it's flipping fast which is awesome, however I believe it's over $100 for that 60.
Now the capping system is a little different to other companies, whereas normal internet when you hit your usage limit your connection speed is simply slowed right down, to a point where it's virtually unusable, annoying. But whatever.

BigPond however thought of a better way to completely screw over their customers and suck every last drop of human sanity from their bone marrow:
The Internet speed stays quick, so the only way you know that you've hit the limit is with a single email, easily missed in buisiness computers which receive like 50 message a day.
Ontop of this, the real killer is that they charge their customers 15 cents for every mb over the limit... This KILLS people. Remember Internet usage includes uploads as well.

Therefore for every email WE receive from clients is costing US money. Last time we went over the cap we got a bill of THREE THOUSAND DOLLERS. Somehow this wasn't enough motivation to change to another dealer then and there because we've just hit that limit again, and in a mere 48 hours we are at 125%, that's 15000 mb over the limit at 15c a piece. Rounding to approximately $1000 a DAY until we can get out. Therefore if this isn't fixed the company will be charged at the end of the month about $20,000. In short, bankruptcy and we're not just all out of a job, but out of a house as well. Fantastic.

So in conclusion, does it seems likely that I might be getting a pay rise? Ha, don't make me laugh.

I think there's a reason why the television got this nickname.

Probably one of the biggest idols of the modern day along with sports and money.
Every day millions get home from a 'busy day' to gather round and essentially worship these things.

Lately I've seen so much stupid tension, conflict and general antisocial behavior all because of TV.

Dinner times I wouldn't mind having a chat, talking about my day and hearing about everyone else's. Instead I get told off for not waiting until the ads to speak, even though there are no ads anymore because everything is pre recorded.

If people want to watch different things or if one person isn't interested in something someone else is it would quickly lead to an uproar.
A fight once broke out in my family because Dad was asked to turn the volume down by a single notch! I don't think anyone really stops and thinks for a second, 'this is television'

What prompted me to write this journal was because every monday myself, Leuk and Xiang get together to discuss our series of comics, novels etc. And recently we've been getting together at my place.
Now, it got called off this week, because (get this) Wrestlemania was on. I'm just thinking: 'What kind of pathetic excuse is that?' my sister tells me it's a 'family activity' pfft, family would be if we spoke to one another in general conversation from time to time without being at each others throats.
A group of people gathering around the idiot box is pretty much just a group of people gathering around the idiot box.

A similar example would be, (and this one absolutely baffles me) is that one of the most common things to do for a date if to go to the movies. It might be really good movie but it's completely antisocial. You wouldn't get to talk at all... You wouldn't even get to see each other seeing as the lights are dimmed.
Why don't people do more fun and creative things for dates, like going bowling, fishing or ice skating?

I think quite a few people are starting to get the same idea now, many people I know watch very little TV at all, and anything they do watch just gets streamed off the internet... But then you just spending all your time in front of another screen I suppose... And I certainly fall into that category >_>

...I've had my rant.

I haven't updated here in some time, so here it goes...

Trying to keep things fairly art related, With the release of "What's next" The Flash that took 6 months to complete but probably only had a day or so solid work in it is finally up. So now I plan to start releasing Flash shorts on a regular basis. Every fortnight if I can.

If people find that a single movie is too short. I may compile a few into a collection before making a submission. I also think I'll experiment with various styles as well.

Spyware 2 is coming along nicely, although I still have any clue for an eventual release, as animation is still yet to begin. Although the script is making huge improvements (Thanks to Seb).

Also started work on a Flash game some time ago, although the guy I'm working with is from Denmark. So with conflicting time zones we rarely get an opportunity to discuss aspects of it. For now, here is his solo released beta: "Sticky the Ball 0.99" [link]

Work wise, I am still jobless >< Mostly due to lazyness, I need to get motivated to get out there more. Adam Phillips (Creator of the Brackenwood series) may be visiting my Tafe class, so perhaps he'll be able to give me some advice on what path to take with future courses etc.

In other media I've been getting more in to music. Well... I've always been interested in learning an instrument, particularly piano. But I've never really had the opportunity.

So I dug out my sisters keyboard and started tinkering with that, however without someone teaching me there's only so far I can get ><

Also been getting back in to digital painting, now that I'm starting to learn the right techniques from various artists. But I don't know when I'll have something for submission.

I may try to update this more often as well, with more general life things also rather than just art

Well, I don't think it's very possible for Spyware to have gone any better than it has. And I for one certainly wasn't expecting such a result. First came acception to the local exhibition at Manly Art Gallery, then the regional one at the Gallery of NSW. But then low and behold they open the envelope for the winner of a $2000 prize at the Manly Opening last Friday and read my name out. Was I dreaming or something? o.O
I was quite convinced that another work there consisting of charcoal images of Syd Barret was sure to win it due to being featured in the paper the previous day and it's overall sheer awesomeness.

So the Spyware saga finally draws to a close. Although the second film is coming along quite well, despite that It's already a huge improvment over the original there's no way it will be receive as much recognition as it did, ah well. It's only a hobby thing anyway

To give a brief overview of what people should be expecting in Spyware 2: The Code War, is that it is set before the original, explaining everything on the leadup to Dren's invasion of Internet and generally tells the story from the Virus point of view. I'm hoping for an August release, although I highly doubt that I'll make it by then

Back in those days I was still into drawing and it was early in year 7 that Mecho man was born. I always thought to myself how awesome it would be to get it published in K-zone. Now that might actually become a possibility! =O

Jeanie is going into work on Tuesday to basically find out what the story is. Contacts and what not, to see if there is actually a chance for my ideas to one day become known to the world!

I'm really looking forward to finishing school now so I can focus my attention back to my original super hero character Mecho man and redo it all to a more professional standard with a decent story to it as well.

Eugh!! So frustrated and stressed out >.< That control room I submitted yesterday, which mind you took me the entire weekend, including an allnighter on saturday is apparently complete rubbish.

Personally I was happy with the new design, especially compared to the old version. However I spent all art lesson listening to how rubbish it is...

I know it's just constructive criticism I know and I agree with several of the points. its just so annoying hearing so many flaws on what is supposed to be the final version. and after working on it for so many hours straight I was expecting a reaction a bit higher than 'oh, its okay.. I guess'.

It makes me think that at a rate like this where everything has to be remade several times over this movie may never even get fully started let alone finished before the deadline >

Everything has to be complete in 8 weeks and I'm still needing to do more work on the script (which has been rewritten over 6 times now) and for some reason I'm being called lazy... >_>

Even more frustrating and stressful is ontop of all this I am actually failing all my subjects, partially due to wanting to focus on my artwork. And even when doing so, when in art I'm being called lazy????? What's going on here? >.<

Now instead of just looking forward to finishing the year of explody brains I hope I won't have to do it from scratch all over again =\

Being lonely is not a good thing, being depressed is not a good thing, being betrayed by close friend is not a good thing.

And it was on my friend Dechen's 18th birthday who passed at the end of last year that I had all of them ontop of each other at once, which can leave you in quite a state. I prayed that night trying to straighten everything out in my head. When quite suddenly I felt a cold wave move over body, all my muscles tensed and tears appeared in my eyes.

I found myself standing on manly beach, with Dech and Jesus standing infront of me... I cried out for how much I loved them both and gave thanks for always being with me and always having my back.

They comforted me, told me not to worry, that I will find someone. I then had a group hug with Jesus Christ and Deche before they faded off into the distance...

The tears imminently disappeared from my eyes, my body relaxed and the coldness went away. I opened my eyes with a new feeling. Not to look at the past, not even to look at the present. But to look into the future. With determination that one day...

I will...

I really don't know why I havn't created any journals in the past... But I'll start now with the character we had to create for Tafe. I've already submitted the first image and I'm currently working on the second which I'm putting alot more effort into and already looks better than the first.

Of course Leuk manages to jump into the same assignment and once again manage to upstage me on his first attempt. >.< So good thing I already had a second image in the works. No doubt even that will be raped when Leuk's done however

Also I finished my Trailer for Spyware at the begining of the holidays which took alot out of me, but paid off as my best Flash movie so far. No doubt Brucello will simply comment with 'where's the story board for the full movie?' Which was supposed to be done several weeks ago =\
