Recently there was a thread started on the CoH forums in the art section where a member had asked for people to show off their best character costumes. Originally I thought "This should be fun and interesting", but that only lasted for so long. What seemed far too quickly, the thread spiraled into people telling others they use too much black on their costumes and that they lack creativity and so on. This irks me on a very very high level. Now the thread is just people arguing back and fourth about this.

I don't have a problem with people using black for their costumes. I don't have a problem with people not liking it when other people use black for their costumes (I have many of both, so I sit on the fence.), what I do have a problem with is when it devolves into people telling others they are wrong, or dumb, or uncreative for doing so.

GROW UP! This isn't preschool where we tell some kid we don't really like that his stick man sucks. You have a problem with someones character creation because of the colours they've used on a costume? Well suck it up and keep your comments to yourself instead of trying to make the people feel like crap because you have a 'mightier than thou' ego that needs to be filled.

And yes, I do realize that me bitching about this is somewhat ironic.
