Now Im sitting in my dorm at Colorado State University still absorbing that Im on my own, miles away from home... And Im loving it. Yay college! So I'm a music major with guitar concentration. Finally taking classes that I WANT to take. So yeah that whats new in my life.

Im playing in the orchestra for the school musical which is West Side Story! The music is the hardest music I have ever played ever! Opening night was on the 1st and it was pretty bad. But tonight it will be much better. So this entire week I've been eating and breathing this musical and Im tired of it but thats what it takes.
I've been working a lot with film photography and I hope to put some of that stuff up soon.
And ummm school is sucking cuz I just wanna get it over with and its been hard to stay on top of my work but I'll be good.
I got accepted to Colorado State U, U of Northern Colorado, and Fort Lewis U!!! So now I know that I'm at least going to college! WOOT WOOT!
And thats pretty much it!

Well I havent updated the journal in a while so why not now? So I've been pretty good lately, SENIOR YEAR!!! I cant wait to go to CSU next year! Its gonna be a blast! Its really ugly in Denver so there is nothing to photograph. Im currently in the process of posting my photos from mexico.
So I've noticed that it is much harder to get comments on my work as time goes on. Like when I first started, I met people very quickly and got lots of comments and favs. But now, half of the people on my watchers list, doesnt even go on DA anymore. Whatever, times change, people move on. As for me, I've always been dedicated to looking at all of the deviations of those I watch and I comment on the ones I like! I've never ever passed over someone just cuz I didnt feel like it. So whats the point? Really, its just an observation I made. But I can promise everyone, if I am a watcher of your gallery, I look at all of your new stuff as it comes in. I enjoy it. Thats why I decided to watch your gallery in the first place. So maybe others should be just as dedicated. Help all the starving artists across the world! With out critique, there is no way of knowing what the public like and dont like! Peace!

So about 2 weeks ago, I discovered from my music teacher Keith Oxman, who is also a profesional musician, is going to be playing at my temple one night. Now, what makes that extra cool is he will be playing with a jazz legend! This is someone who has recorded on over 300 albums and has played with John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Art Blakey and many more. He is also the only one who is still alive today that recorded on John Coltrane's legendary album Blue Train. His name is Curtis Fuller (trombone)!!! But thats not really what I came here to tell you about. A few kids in my jazz class and I get to play with them that night! Thats right! We are playing with a world known Jazz Trombonist! A hero! I am so excited! Im also quite nervous! Like I keep thinging about what he thinks of my solos and such. I hope he likes them! But yeah! So February 11th at Temple Sinai is when the event is. I think its quite expensive but if you would like to go that would be sweet! YEAH YEAH!

Now that u've seen the background, Im gonna tell u how it went...

Basicly, It was AMAZING!!!!! I got to play 2 tunes with them! After the show, Curtis told me I did a great job and that I have potential! This is the best musical experience of my life! Like Curtis Fuller was freinds with John Coltrane and when Coltrane wasnt practicing, they would hang out ans chat and such. Curtis Fuller is the closest anyone will ever get to John Coltrane! Curtis' stories about him and Coltrane were so amazing! I mean I cant describe how great it was to be chatting with Curtis about this stuff! So I've got many pictures of the event, some video, and Curtis' signature! i'll put the photos up as soo as I can! I cant believe This really happened. I guess you hafta know jazz to understand what Im feeling but I just wanted to share this amazing experience with you.
