In other news, I don't really update this as often as I should... but I've been working on a game project.  Figured out how to make 3d models in blender, skin and rig them, and integrate them into both JMonkey and Unreal 3.  I have a few game projects in mind, but I'm working on learning the basics first :)

I'm planning on fixing up Chocobo and taking him outside (when it's not raining) to have photos done.  It occurred to me though, in Chocobo's Dungeon, Chocobo gets classes and costumes!  Aside from YuleCon at the end of the year where I plan to make him a giant Santa hat, what costume should I make for Chocobo?

In any problem there are always 3 solutions:
1) Change yourself (IE, change your own mind, alter the way you look at the world, change your habits)
2) Change the world (IE, make someone/something change, alter the world's point of view, change everything else)
3) Do nothing.

I forget that doing nothing is an equally valid option to the other two.

When it is not my place to do the first two, I need to realize that sticking my head into another's business is bad, unless I intend to actively participate in the change.

Over the weekend, I had to replace the valve on my toilet because it broke and the seals on my bathtub had to be recaulked since it was leaking into our living room.

Now my water heater sprung leak and it'll cost me $1500 to fix, not to mention I have jury summons for the 22nd!

For instance, this is an actual paraphrased discussion I had recently.
"This would be great if she wasn't overweight. By the way, I'm being honest. I see you can't take a true perspective opinion."

How the heck does that work?  A true perspective opinion?  That's as good as saying "I'm telling you my opinion which is the truth."

So a while ago I bought a new camera, a Canon 450d, which I absoltely love. I've done a few shoots with it and it's amazing. Love it. I bought it over the 40d, which is virtually the same, because it was cheaper and had a cheaper lens. It was a good learner lens so I could get used to it. Problem is, it's rather limited in range, but for studio shooting it's OK since I control the environment.

In December, one of my coworkers is getting married and I was asked to co-photo it. I don't mind doing it, but I'm wondering if I should get a new lens and if so, what?

I click on messages, it literally lags my browser window for about 8 seconds before redrawing it.  I can't even switch tabs.  Also, when I want to check my messages, it defaults to showing me EVERYTHING.  I like the old method where messages and art updates from people on my watch list were on seperate panels.  It let me check my messages if I wanted to which would be a quick easy action... and then switch over and see what's new, which takes longer depending on bandwidth.

This is actually my third time writing this... I'm not sure what I'm trying to say but it always comes off jaded and angry but I'm not jaded and angry.

I'm really quite grateful that people put stock images online for others to use and I think it's really very generous and kind.  I try my best to keep track of where all the elements come from but there are just too many for my mind to remember.  I'm here to create art, not be a secretary.

In the layers palette, create a new group inside a layer.  Then click in the tiny space inbetween the > arrow to expand the layer and the thumbnail next to it.

That's it.

It'll be probably about 100 pages or so, 60 or so would just be reprints of my existing works but I'll fill the remainder with new artwork.  I'm curious what people would prefer:

If your work with a model is potentially risky and could cause them harm, it's only natural you explain to them what you're doing and the risks involved.  If you're gonna get them nude and standing in the snow, they could catch hypothermia or a cold.  If you photograph them standing in a field, a tick could bite them and they could catch lyme disease.  It's just the inherient problem with any risk.

The one time I pop onto a forum, it was a discussion about acrylics and bodypaint.  People were saying not to use acrylics because it wasn't FDA approved therefore illegal and dangerous.  I popped in and said people should use caution no matter what material they choose because FDA approval doesn't mean it's necessarily safe.  I used the peanut allergy as an example.

And then it became a huge flame war for which I was banned.
