I'm horrible about keeping up with this place. I always have good reasons, but the fact remains, I'm doing pretty good if I post a few times a year. This year has been no different so far.
On the upside though, all the other stuff I'm doing is going very well.
I'm handling the visual arts programs that my employer offers, continuing to refine my portfolio, recently transferred to a new department at work (and trying to transfer again), just moved, and trying to still be available for my friends and family.
On top of that, my wife and I have recently begun the process of trying for children, so here's hoping that works out well.

So anyway, if it seems like I tend to fall off the face of the Earth every now and then, don't worry, I'm still around.

...I'm probably just trying to squeeze in a nap.

Cheers,

Mike Searle

Hey everyone, I have two new t-shirt designs in the running on Threadless.com! If they get enough votes in the next week then Threadless will print them and I'll be famous! Well, maybe not famous, but they would pay me, and that's pretty much just as good.

Anyway, check the following two links, and if you like my designs sign up and go vote on them. I'd sure appreciate it if you'd share this note with your friends so they can go vote too!

Massacre: [link]

I love Rock + Roll: [link]

So, life is always busy around here, but it's been especially busy of late. I've got two different poster projects to finish up shortly, and I'm right in the middle of coordinating an art exhibit for a group of about 100 other artists.
Suffice to say, my plate is pretty full. Nonetheless, I'm trying to make a point to complete at least one personal piece per week, even if it's simple.
Anyway, cheers to you all!

-Mike

So, I'd just like to say thanks to all of you who've watched, commented, and critiqued.
I'm still far from the artist I want to be, but you guys give me the motivation to want to get there all the more!

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted anything on here. I glanced at my last post and saw that I hadn't put up any new pics since September. I really gotta do better about that.

At any rate, I've posted a piece that I recently finished for a show I'm doing, I hope you all like it!

Take care,

So I'm back. Angel and I went to San Diego for a week, and I gotta tell ya, it was breathtaking. We did the usual touristy stuff like go to the zoo, and hang at the beach. But mostly, it was just nice to get away for a bit.
This was our first "real" vacation, and there's a strong sense of fulfillment to finally being able to say that we've been somewhere.
Anyway, I've posted a few pics from our trip (not all of course, we took hundreds), so I hope you like 'em.

So, I'm a little nervous. Who can blame me? I'm also pretty excited though.
Today I leave on vacation. Angel and I are going to sunny San Diego for a week. This will be so many firsts for me.
My first "real" vacation, first time flying and being old enogh to remember it, first time seeing the ocean, etc, etc, ad infinitum.
So I think I've a bit of a right to be anxious.
At any rate, I'm greatly looking forward to it.
Be back in a week, with lots of pics, I'm sure.

Have fun while I'm gone.
